| 2 | Resveratrol improves cognition and reduces oxidative stress in rats with vascular dementia显示文摘Resveratrol possesses beneficial biological effects,which include anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties.Recently,resveratrol has been shown to exhibit neuroprotective effects in models of Parkinson's disease,cerebral ischemia and Alzheimer's disease.However,its effects on vascular dementia remain unclear.The present study established a rat model of vascular dementia using permanent bilateral common carotid artery occlusion.At 8-12 weeks after model induction,rats were intragastrically administered 25 mg/kg resveratrol daily.Our results found that resveratrol shortened the escape latency and escape distances in the Morris water maze,and prolonged the time spent percentage and swimming distance percentage in the target quadrant during the probe test,indicating that resveratrol improved learning and memory ability in vascular dementia rats.Further experiments found that resveratrol decreased malonyldialdehyde levels,and increased superoxide dismutase activity and glutathione levels in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of vascular dementia rats.These results confirmed that the neuroprotective effects of resveratrol on vascular dementia were associated with its anti-oxidant properties. | Xingrong Ma Zhikun Sun Yanru Liu Yanjie Jia Boai Zhang Jiewen Zhang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,22: | 7 |
| 3 | A Novel Parallel Scheme for Fast Similarity Search in Large Time Series显示文摘The similarity search is one of the fundamental components in time series data mining,e.g.clustering,classification,association rules mining.Many methods have been proposed to measure the similarity between time series,including Euclidean distance,Manhattan distance,and dynamic time warping(DTW).In contrast,DTW has been suggested to allow more robust similarity measure and be able to find the optimal alignment in time series.However,due to its quadratic time and space complexity,DTW is not suitable for large time series datasets.Many improving algorithms have been proposed for DTW search in large databases,such as approximate search or exact indexed search.Unlike the previous modified algorithm,this paper presents a novel parallel scheme for fast similarity search based on DTW,which is called MRDTW(MapRedcuebased DTW).The experimental results show that our approach not only retained the original accuracy as DTW,but also greatly improved the efficiency of similarity measure in large time series. | YIN Hong YANG Shuqiang MA Shaodong LIU Fei CHEN Zhikun | 2015 | China Communications2015,12,2: | 6 |
| 4 | Plant microremains provide direct evidence for the functions of stone knives from the Lajia site, northwestern China显示文摘A large number of stone knives have been recovered from Neolithic archaeological sites in East Asia.However, direct evidence regarding the functions of the stone knives has been scarce, and hence, their functions have remained controversial. In this study, we recovered and analysed ancient starch grains and phytoliths from residues adhering to stone knives excavated from the Lajia site, Qinghai Province, northwest China, thus providing direct evidence for the functions of the knives. Our analyses were based on the following:(1) an assemblage of 278identifiable starch grains, representing grains from the stems of foxtail millet(Setaria italica) and broomcorn millet(Panicum miliaceum)(65.1 % of the total) and the stems of Hordeum and Triticum species(3.6 % of the total), and(2) an assemblage of 361 identifiable phytoliths,the majority of which were from the stems and leaves of plants such as Panicoideae and related taxa(96 % of the total). Our study demonstrates that one of the functions of the stone knives was the harvesting crops. | 5 | Early millet use in West Liaohe area during early-middle Holocene显示文摘It is generally recognized that millet agriculture originated in northern China. However, the domestication process of foxtail millet(Setaria italica) and broomcorn millet(Panicum miliaceum) is still poorly understood. Based on statistical and morphological analyses of ancient millet starch grains, a tangible hypothesis has been proposed for the long-term domestication of green foxtail millet(S. viridis). However, the hypothesis requires validation by evidence from more regions and more archaeological finds. The West Liaohe region is one of the earliest regions of millet cultivation. Here, we report ancient starch grains recovered from 12 stone grinding tools from eight sites of the Xiaohexi culture(before 8.5 ka BP), Xinglongwa culture(8.2–7.4 ka BP), Zhaobaogou culture(7.0–6.4 ka BP), and Hongshan culture(6.5–5.0 ka BP) in the West Liaohe region of China. Our results indicate that the proportion of millet starch grains with wrinkled surfaces and rough edges, which are diagnostic of wild millet grasses, decreased from 13.0% to 3.4% from the Xiaohexi culture to the Hongshan culture. Millet starch grains measuring >16.8 ?m, a size class recorded only in domesticated foxtail millet, increased from 55.0% to 62.1%. | 8 | Nano silica aerogel-induced formation of an organic/alloy biphasic interfacial layer enables construction of stable high-energy lithium metal batteries显示文摘Lithium metal batteries represent promising candidates for high-energy-density batteries, however, many challenges must still be overcome,e.g., interface instability and dendrite growth. In this work, nano silica aerogel was employed to generate a hybrid film with high lithium ion conductivity(0.6 mS cm^(-1)at room temperature) via an in situ crosslinking reaction. TOF-SIMS profile analysis has revealed conversion mechanism of hybrid film to Li–Si alloy/Li F biphasic interface layer, suggesting that the Li–Si alloy and Li F-rich interface layer promoted rapid Li+transport and shielded the Li anodes from corrosive reactions with electrolyte-derived products. When coupled with nickel-cobalt-manganese-based cathodes, the batteries achieve outstanding capacity retention over 1000 cycles at 1 C. Additionally the developed film coated on Li enabled high coulombic efficiency(99.5%) after long-term cycling when coupled with S cathodes. | 9 | Phase Selection and Microhardness of Directionally Solidified AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) Eutectic High-Entropy Alloy显示文摘In the present work,the solidification behaviors and microhardness of directionally solidified AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) eutectic highentropy alloy(EHEA)obtained at different growth velocities are investigated.The microstructure of the as-cast AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) EHEA is composed of bulky dendrites(NiAl phase)and lamellar eutectic structures,indicating that the actual composition of the alloy slightly deviates from the eutectic point.However,it is interesting to observe that the full lamellar structure of this alloy is obtained through directional solidification.In order to explain this phenomenon,the maximum interface temperature criterion and the interface response function(IRF)theory are applied to calculate the velocity range of the transition from the primary phase to the eutectic,which is 1.2–2×10^(4)μm/s.Furthermore,microhardness is one of the important parameters to measure the mechanical properties of materials.Therefore,the microhardness test is performed,and the test result indicates that the microhardness(HV)increased with increasing growth velocity(V)or decreased with increasing lamellar spacing(λ).The dependences ofλand HV on V are determined by using a linear regression analysis.The relationships between theλ,V and HV are given as:λ=11.62V^(-0.48),HV=305.5V 0.02 and HV=328.1λ^(0.04),respectively.The microhardness of the AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1) EHEA increases from 312.38 HV to 329.54 HV with the increase in growth velocity(5–200μm/s).Thus,directional solidification is an effective method to improve the mechanical properties of alloys. | Peng Peng Shengyuan Li Weiqi Chen Yuanli Xu Xudong Zhang Zhikun Ma Jiatai Wang | 2022 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2022,35,8: | 1 |
| 10 | Indica rice spread to the Tibetan Plateau in the 700s CE显示文摘Asian cultivated rice(Oryza sativa)has two main subspecies,indica(O.sativa sub.indica)and japonica(O.sativa sub.japonica).Japonica rice was domesticated in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China,while indica appeared around 4000 a BP in northern south Asia after hybridization between introduced japonica and indigenous proto-indica.When and how indica rice spread into China is still barely understood,although it is cultivated widely in southern China today.Here we report on the earliest,definite indica rice remains in China,including charred seeds,phytoliths,and ancient DNA,from the newly investigated Kongsangqiao site at an elevation of 2676 m above sea level in Tibet,along with a charcoal study that reveals the vegetation and climate during of human occupation.AMS radiocarbon dating of charred indica rice grains suggests the remains are from the 8th century(700s CE).The dominant identified charcoal fragments are Himalayan pine(Pinus wallichiana),from which a rather cold climate is inferred where indica rice could not be grown in situ,suggesting it was likely brought to the site.Both archaeological and literature records thus support that indica rice,fully domesticated in northern south Asia,had spread to the southern margin of the Tibetan Plateau via parts of the ancient Tang-Tubo Road,Tubo-Nepal Road,by at least the 8th century CE. | Qingli SUN Qi YANG Yu GAO Zhengquan GU Jishuai YANG Shuzhi WANG Zhikun MA Yan TONG Xiaoyan YANG | 2022 | Science China Earth Sciences2022,65,12: | 0 |

| 12 | ZnO Films on Transferable and Low Thermal Resistance Graphite Substrate Grown by Ultrasonic Spray Pyrolysis显示文摘ZnO thin films were deposited on graphite substrates by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method with Zn(CH 3 COO) 2 ·2H 2 O aqueous solution as precursor. The crystalline structure, morphology, and optical properties of the as-grown ZnO films were investigated systematically as a function of deposition temperature and growth time. Near-band edge ultraviolet(UV) emission was observed in room temperature photoluminescence spectra for the optimized samples, yet the usually observed defect related deep level emissions were nearly undetectable, indicating that high optical quality ZnO thin fi lms could be achieved via this ultrasonic spray pyrolysis method. | 15 | Brain-derived neurotrophic factor protects PC12 cells from beta-amyloid-induced neurotoxicity through the tropomyosin-related kinase B receptor pathway显示文摘The present study utilized beta amyloid (Aβ)-induced cell apoptosis in PC12 cells as a cell model of Alzheimer's disease to investigate the interaction between brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and the tropomyosin-related kinase B receptor. Results showed that Aβ(25-35) can reduce survival of PC12 cells and increase cleaved caspase-3 expression in PC12 cells. However, BDNF inhibited Aβ(25-35)-induced cytotoxicity and cleaved casapase-3 expression.
