1Starch grain analysis reveals function of grinding stone tools at Shangzhai site, Beijing显示文摘Prehistoric groundstone tools including slabs (metate, mo-pan) and mullers (mano, mo-bang) are often considered to be tools that were used to process cereals in ancient China. Most archaeologists believe that groundstone tools are indicators of an agrarian economy. This study employed starch grain analysis to examine a slab and a muller excavated from the Shangzhai Site (7500-7000 cal a BP), Beijing. Identifiable starch grains recovered from the stone tools were classified into 9 genera and 12 species, most of which were from acorns and foxtail millets. Remains from the oak species Q. mongolicus, Q. acuttssima, and Q. dentate were identified as well as a few starch grains from broomcorn (Panicum miliaseum) and bean (Vigna sp.). Other starch grains were from unidentifiable roots and grasses. A variety of starch grains indicates that the grinding stone tools were used to process not only cereals, but also other seeds or roots that had to be ground or husked, thus bringing into question the aforementioned cereal hypothesis. Because the numbers of starch grains from nuts and millets were so large, both gathering and cultivation might have been important economic patterns before 7000 years ago in Beijing area. 2The intrinsic mechanism of corrosion resistance for FCC high entropy alloys显示文摘The concept of high entropy alloys(HEAs) or multi-principal component alloys has inspired a great progress of physical metallurgy along with several unusual phenomena. The high corrosion resistance of HEAs was frequently mentioned but without convincing explanations. In this paper, the intrinsic mechanism of corrosion resistance in FCC HEAs was revealed by designing equal atomic alloys with single solid solution phase. 3Starch grain evidence reveals early pottery function cooking plant foods in North China显示文摘Early pottery sherds excavated in northern China date back to more than 11,000 cal a BP,and are presumed to have been used as cooking vessels.There has been,however,no direct evidence to demonstrate this function.Here we report ancient starch grains recovered from carbonized residues adhering to the bases of flatbottomed vessels excavated from the Zhuannian site dating more than 10,000 cal a BP in the North China Plain.This evidence demonstrates that early pottery was being used to cook cereal grains,particularly millets,and acorns.Because millets were in the process of domestication at thistime,we propose that pottery invention in northern China may have been related to early farming activities.Xiaoyan Yang Zhikun Ma Tao Wang Linda Perry Quan Li Xiujia Huan Jincheng Yu 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,32:10
4Dynamic tensile properties and microstructural evolution of extruded EW75 magnesium alloy at high strain rates显示文摘The dynamic tensile properties and microstructural evolution of an extruded EW75 magnesium alloy deformed at ambient temperature and different high strain rates(from 1000 to 3000 s^(-1))along extrusion direction(ED)were investigated by Split Hopkinson Tension Bar(SHTB).The corresponding deformation mechanisms,texture evolution and microstructure changes were analyzed by optical microscope(OM),electron backscatter diffraction(EBSD)and transmission electron microscope(TEM).The results show that the extruded EW75 magnesium alloy along ED exhibits a conventional positive strain rate sensitivity that the dynamic flow stresses increase with in creasing strain rate.Texture measurements show that after dynamic tension,the initial weak texture of extruded EW75 magnesium alloy tansforms to a relatively strong<10-10>//ED texture with increasing strain rates.The microstructural analysis demonstrates that dislocation motion are main deformatin mode to accommodate dynamic tensile deformation at high strain rates.In addition,the interactions of dislocation-dislocation and dislocation-second phase lead to the in crease of flow stress and strain hardening with increasing strain rate.Jincheng Yu Bo Song Dabiao Xia Xun Zeng Yuanding Huang Norbert Hort Pingli Mao Zheng Liu 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,3:7
5Effect of pickling processes on the microstructure and properties of electroless Ni–P coating on Mg–7.5Li–2Zn–1Y alloy显示文摘The electroless plating Ni–P is prepared on the surface of Mg–7.5Li–2Zn–1Y alloys with different pickling processes.The microstructure and properties of Ni–P coating are investigated.The results show that the Ni–P coatings deposited using the different pickling processes have a different high phosphorus content amorphous Ni–P solid solution structure,and the Ni–P coatings exhibit higher hardness.There is higher phosphorus content of Ni–P amorphous coating using 125 g/L Cr O3and 110 ml/L HNO3(w68%)than using 180 g/L Cr O3and 1 g/L KF during pre-treatment,and the coating structure is more compact,and the Ni–P coatings exhibit more excellent adhesion with substrate(Fcup to22 N).The corrosion potential of Ni–P coating is improved and exhibits good corrosion resistance.As a result,Mg-7.5Li-2Zn-1Y alloy is remarkably protected by the Ni–P coating.Chunjie Xu Liping Chen Ling Yu Jinxiao Zhang Zhongming Zhang Jincheng Wang 2014Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2014,24,6:5

7Clinical significance of extended high-risk human papillomavirus genotyping and viral load in cervical cancer and precancerous lesions显示文摘Persistent infections with specific high-risk human papillomavirus(HR-HPV)strains are the leading cause of cervical cancer and precancerous lesions.HPV-16 and HPV-18 are associated with more than 70%of cervical cancer.However,with recent widespread vaccination efforts against cervical cancer,the infection rates of HPV-16 and HPV-18 have decreased across all age groups,while the infection rates of other HR-HPV strains have increased.The non-16/18 HR-HPV strains play an important role in cervical lesions.These strains can be identified with extended genotyping,and the 2019 American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology(ASCCP)guidelines recommended an HPV-based testing to assess the risk of cervical disease in patients.We reviewed and analyzed the clinical benefits of applying extended HR-HPV genotyping,which was published by the International Agency for Research on Cancer(HPV-16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,and 68),to cervical cancer screening.This review concluded that cervical cancer screening needs to include extended HR-HPV genotyping.The examination of extended HR-HPV genotyping in cervical intraepithelial lesions and cervical cancers can help guide clinical practices.Pingping Su Jincheng Ma Lirui Yu Shuting Tang Pengming Sun 2023Gynecology and Obstetrics Clinical Medicine2023,3,1:2
8Large-sized bone defect repair by combining a decalcified bone matrix framework and bone regeneration units based on photo-crosslinkable osteogenic microgels显示文摘Physiological repair of large-sized bone defects is great challenging in clinic due to a lack of ideal grafts suitable for bone regeneration.Decalcified bone matrix(DBM)is considered as an ideal bone regeneration scaffold,but low cell seeding efficiency and a poor osteoinductive microenvironment greatly restrict its application in large-sized bone regeneration.To address these problems,we proposed a novel strategy of bone regeneration units(BRUs)based on microgels produced by photo-crosslinkable and microfluidic techniques,containing both the osteogenic ingredient DBM and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)for accurate biomimic of an osteoinductive microenvironment.The physicochemical properties of microgels could be precisely controlled and the microgels effectively promoted adhesion,proliferation,and osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs)in vitro.BRUs were successfully constructed by seeding BMSCs onto microgels,which achieved reliable bone regeneration in vivo.Finally,by integrating the advantages of BRUs in bone regeneration and the advantages of DBM scaffolds in 3D morphology and mechanical strength,a BRU-loaded DBM framework successfully regenerated bone tissue with the desired 3D morphology and effectively repaired a large-sized bone defect of rabbit tibia.The current study developed an ideal bone biomimetic microcarrier and provided a novel strategy for bone regeneration and large-sized bone defect repair.Junxiang Hao Baoshuai Bai Zheng Ci Jincheng Tang Guanhuai Hu Chengxiang Dai Mengyuan Yu Meng Li Wei Zhang Yixin Zhang Wenjie Ren Yujie Hua Guangdong Zhou 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,8:2

11Effects of leaf litter extraction fluid from dominant forest tree species on functional characteristics of soil microbial communities显示文摘The effects of extraction fluids from the leaf litter from different dominant tree species on the functional characteristics of the soil microbial community were studied to understand how changes in soil quality and synergism between plants and soil contribute to the process of forest succession. Leaf litter from dominant tree species at different stages of succession were collected and extracted with sterile deionized water. After treating the soil of abandoned land with the different extraction fluids,we analyzed changes in carbon utilization of the soil microbial community in Biolog Eco Plates, then considered these results with those of our previous study on forest vegetation succession in the Malan forest. The leaf litter enhanced the metabolic capacity and functional diversity of the soil microbes, especially in the following combinations:the leaf litter of Quercus liaotungensis–Pinus tabulaeformis, P. tabulaeformis–Betula platyphylla, Q. liaotungensis and P. tabulaeformiss. Second, when litter from onespecies evaluated, the species enhanced metabolism and diversity in the order of their successional relationship: B.Platyphylla \ P. tabulaeformis \ Q. liaotungensis. After soils were treated with different leaf litters at 25 C for7 days, the sorting pattern of the PCA values, based on the similarity of carbon source utilization by the soil microbes,corresponded to the successional pattern on the basis of the similarity of community composition of forest plants.Thus, changes in soil properties caused by leaf litter from different dominant trees probably play a unique role in the successional pattern of a forest community. We thus propose a successional mechanism that underlies the natural succession process within the Malan forest region. When the dominant forest species of the climax successional stage develops during the early successional stages, its forest litter probably alters soil properties such that the soil becomes unsuitable for the gradual growth and regeneration of the original dominant tree species but promotes the growth and establishment of later-invasive plants.
