A miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler for space application显示文摘Along with the development of space science and technology, miniature liquid helium temperature long life cryocooler is a focus subject in cryogenic study.Since it is the precondition of space detection researches, institutions of space in many countries do the research on it.In this article,we designed a compound cooling system.A three-stage high frequency thermal coupled pulse tube cryocooler was used to precool a Joule-Thomson(JT)cryocooler.This system has no moving parts at low temperatures and is hence suitable for space operation.Liquid helium temperature was successfully achieved in both open loop and closed cycle experiments. In the closed cycle experiment, when 473 W electric power was inputted, the cooling system reached a no-load temperature of 4.4 K,and a cooling capacity of 11.6 mW was provided at 4.54 K.It is the first miniature liquid helium temperature JT cryocooler in China and the research achievement paves a way for the space application of ultra-long wave infrared detection and THz technologies. | QUAN Jia ZHOU ZhenJun LIU YanJie LI JianGuo MA YueXue LIANG JingTao | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,11: | 16
Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell transplantation for treatment of spinal cord injury An in vivo magnetic resonance imaging tracking study显示文摘Non-invasive tracing in vivo can be used to observe the migration and distribution of grafted stem cells, and can provide experimental evidence for treatment. This study utilized adenovirus-carrying enhanced green fluorescent protein(AD5/F35-eGFP) and superparamagnetic iron oxide(SPIO)-labeled bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(BMSCs).BMSCs,double-labeled by AD5/F35-eGFP and SPIO,were transplanted into rats with spinal cord injury via the subarachnoid space.MRI tracing results demonstrated that BMSCs migrated to the injured spinal cord over time(T2 hypointensity signals). This result was verified by immunofluorescence. These results indicate that MRI can be utilized to trace in vivo the SPIO-labeled BMSCs after grafting. | Yu Liu Boai Zhang Yi Song Yubin Deng Yanjie Jia Qiyong Gong | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,13: | 14
The OsAMT1.1 gene functions in ammonium uptake and ammoniumepotassium homeostasis over low and high ammonium concentration ranges显示文摘Rice(Oryza sativa) grown in paddy fields is an ammonium(NH^+_4)-preferring crop;however, its AMT-type NH^+_4transporters that mediate root N acquisition have not been well characterized yet.In this study,we analyzed the expression pattern and physiological function of the OsAMT1.1 gene of the AMT1 subfamily in rice.Os AMT1.1 is located in the plasma membrane and is mainly expressed in the root epidermis, stele and mesophyll cells.Disruption of the Os AMT1.1 gene decreased the uptake of NH^+_4,and the growth of roots and shoots under both low NH^+_4and high NH^+_4conditions.Os AMT1.1 contributed to the short-term(5 min)^(15)NH^+_4influx rate by approximately one-quarter,irrespective of the NH^+_4concentration.Knockout of Os AMT1.1 significantly decreased the total N transport from roots to shoots under low NH^+_4conditions.Moreover,compared with the wild type, the osamt1.1 mutant showed an increase in the potassium(K)absorption rate under high NH^+_4conditions and a decrease under low NH^+_4conditions.The mutants contained a significantly high concentration of K in both the roots and shoots at a limited K(0.1 mmol/L)supply when NH^+_4was replete.Taken together, the results indicated that OsAMT1.1 significantly contributes to the NH^+_4uptake under both low and high NH^+_4conditions and plays an important role in Ne K homeostasis in rice. | Chang Li Zhong Tang Jia Wei Hongye Qu Yanjie Xie Guohua Xu | 2016 | Journal of Genetics and Genomics2016,43,11: | 12
4 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler used for terahertz space application显示文摘Terahertz(THz) frequency region, defined from0.1 to 10 THz, is an important frequency band for radio astronomy and atmospheric science. As NbN Superconductor-Insulator-Superconductor(SIS) mixers used for terahertz detection, which are studied by the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO), Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS), work at 8–10 K, and require condition of micro vibrations, its astronomical observation in aerospace is limited by suitable refrigeration method. 4 K high frequency pulse tube cryocooler developed by Key Laboratory of Space Energy Conversion Technologies(SECT), Technical Institute of Physics and Chemistry(TIPC), CAS, offers an opportunity for the application of SIS mixers. This article introduces the progress of the two-stage high frequency pulse tube cryocooler researched by TIPC. The cryocooler has reached a no load temperature of 4.5 K which is the lowest temperature for this kind of cryocooler reported so far. The successful coupling between the THz component and the high frequency pulse tube cryocooler lays a solid foundation for space detection in the terahertz band. | Jia Quan Yanjie Liu Dong Liu Kun Zhang Jingtao Liang Jing Li Qijun Yao Shengcai Shi | 2014 | Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,27: | 12
Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. Therefore the observation of Insight-HXMT constitutes an important chapter in the full context of multi-wavelength and multi-messenger observation of this historical GW event. | TiPei Li ShaoLin Xiong ShuangNan Zhang FangJun Lu LiMing Song XueLei Cao Zhi Chang Gang Chen Li Chen TianXiang Chen Yong Chen YiBao Chen YuPeng Chen Wei Cui WeiWei Cui JingKang Deng YongWei Dong YuanYuan Du MinXue Fu GuanHua Gao He Gao Min Gao MingYu Ge YuDong Gu Ju Guan ChengCheng Guo DaWei Han Wei Hu Yue Huang Jia Huo ShuMei Jia LuHua Jiang WeiChun Jiang Jing Jin YongJie Jin Bing Li ChengKui Li Gang Li MaoShun Li Wei Li Xian Li XiaoBo Li XuFang Li YanGuo Li ZiJian Li ZhengWei Li XiaoHua Liang JinYuan Liao CongZhan Liu GuoQing Liu HongWei Liu ShaoZhen Liu XiaoJing Liu Yuan Liu YiNong Liu Bo Lu XueFeng Lu Tao Luo Xiang Ma Bin Meng Yi Nang JianYin Nie Ge OU JinLu Qu Na Sai Liang Sun Yin Tan Lian Tao WenHui Tao YouLi Tuo GuoFeng Wang HuanYu Wang Juan Wang WenShuai Wang YuSa Wang XiangYang Wen BoBing WU Mei Wu GuangCheng Xiao He Xu YuPeng Xu LinLi Yan JiaWei Yang Sheng Yang YanJi Yang AiMei Zhang ChunLei Zhang ChengMo Zhang Fan Zhang HongMei Zhang Juan Zhang Qiang Zhang Shu Zhang Tong Zhang Wei Zhang WanChang Zhang WenZhao Zhang Yi Zhang Yue Zhang YiFei Zhang YongJie Zhang Zhao Zhang ZiLiang Zhang HaiSheng Zhao JianLing Zhao XiaoFan Zhao ShiJie Zheng Yue Zhu YuXuan Zhu ChangLin Zou | 2018 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2018,61,3: | 12

Resveratrol improves cognition and reduces oxidative stress in rats with vascular dementia显示文摘Resveratrol possesses beneficial biological effects, which include anti-oxidant,anti-inflammatory and anti-carcinogenic properties.Recently, resveratrol has been shown to exhibit neuroprotective effects in models of Parkinson's disease, cerebral ischemia and Alzheimer's disease. However, its effects on vascular dementia remain unclear. The present study established a rat model of vascular dementia using permanent bilateral common carotid artery occlusion. At 8-12 weeks after model induction, rats were intragastrically administered 25 mg/kg resveratrol daily. Our results found that resveratrol shortened the escape latency and escape distances in the Morris water maze, and prolonged the time spent percentage and swimming distance percentage in the target quadrant during the probe test, indicating that resveratrol improved learning and memory ability in vascular dementia rats.Further experiments found that resveratrol decreased malonyldialdehyde levels, and increased superoxide dismutase activity and glutathione levels in the hippocampus and cerebral cortex of vascular dementia rats. These results confirmed that the neuroprotective effects of resveratrol on vascular dementia were associated with its anti-oxidant properties. | Xingrong Ma Zhikun Sun Yanru Liu Yanjie Jia Boai Zhang Jiewen Zhang | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,22: | 7
Fasudil hydrochloride differentiates bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells into neurons via notch signaling显示文摘BACKGROUND: Notch signaling regulates bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, Notch signaling and Rho kinase signaling exhibit a crosstalk phenomenon with JAK/STAT, and both participate in the neuronal dendritic spine development. Inhibition of RhoA/Rho kinase signaling may regulate MSC differentiation into neuronal-like cells. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of Notch1 signaling on the differentiation of rat MSCs into neurons induced by fasudil hydrochloride (C14H17N3O2S·HCl), a Rho kinase inhibitor, through a siRNA approach. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING: An in vitro cytological experiment was performed in the Cell Laboratory of Henan Academy of Medical and Pharmaceutical Sciences between December 2007 and May 2009. MATERIALS: MSCs were obtained from Wistar rat femoral bone, fasudil hydrochloride was provided by Tianjin Chase Sun Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Rn-notch1-siRNa, negative control siRNA (Cy3 label) and Rn-MAPK1 control siRNA were provided by QIAGEN, Coloqne, German. METHODS: The cultured MSCs were divided into non-transfected, transfected group (transfected with Rn-Notch1-siRNA), positive control (transfected with Rn-MAPK-1 control siRNA), and negative control (transfected with negative control siRNA) groups. Fasudil hydrochloride was applied to induce MSCs to differentiate into neurons. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The fluorescence expression by the transfected MSCs was observed under an inverted fluorescence microscope; the expression of Notch1 mRNA, Hes1 mRNA, and MAPK1 mRNA in MSCs was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction; the expression of Notch1 protein, nestin, neurofilament M, and glial fibrillary acidic protein was detected by immunocytochemistry. The viability of MSCs was detected by tetrazolium bromide assay. RESULTS: MSC fluorescence increased following a 72-hour siRNA transfection, with transfection efficiencies of up to (0.91 ± 0.04); the Notch1 mRNA and Hes1 mRNA expressed by transfected MSCs was significantly decreased (P < 0.05) compared with non-transfected cells. Fasudil hydrochloride induced MSCs to differentiate into neurons with greater efficiency in the transfected group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Fasudil hydrochloride induces rat MSCs to differentiate into neurons; inhibition of Notch1 signaling and Hes1 expression may jointly promote the differentiation of MSCs into neurons. | Eryi Zhao Liudong Wang Quanqing Wen Wenjuan Guan Jingjing Lu Tao Peng Boai Zhang Yanjie Jia | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,11: | 5
A closed loop 2.65 K hybrid JT cooler for future space application显示文摘Cryogenics and its applications in space have made a remarkable amount of progresses over the last few decades. In the area of space astronomy, some electronic detectors should be cooled to 1–4 K to improve their performance[1,2].So the miniature 1–4 K cryocooler for space application has become a key field for cryogenic research in recent years. In view of their flexibility and relatively higher efficiency, hybrid JT cryocoolers are widely used in space detectors working at below 4 K.In fact, nearly all the space applications of mechanical cryocoolers working at the temperature of 1–4 K,having been launched or under development are hybrid JT cryocoolers[2–6]. | MA YueXue QUAN Jia WANG Juan LIU YanJie LI JianGuo LIANG JingTao | 2019 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2019,62,2: | 4
Gastrodin blocks neural stem cell differentiation into glial cells mediated by kainic acid显示文摘Kainic acid can simulate excitatory amino acids in vitro.Neural stem cells, isolated from newborn Wistar rats, were cultured in vitro and exposed to 100-4 000 μM kainic acid for 7 days to induce neuronal cell differentiation, causing the number of astrocytes to be significantly increased.Treatment with a combination of 0.5 mg/L gastrodin and kainic acid also caused the number of differentiated neurons to be significantly increased compared with treatment with kainic acid alone.Experimental findings suggest that gastrodin reduces the excitability of kainic acid and induces neural stem cell differentiation into neurons. | Guifang Sun Zhihao Yuan Boai Zhang Yanjie Jia Yangfei Ji Xingrong Ma Yu Liu Yanru Liu Quanqing Wen Yanling Zhao | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,12: | 4
Human insulin-like growth factor 1-transfected umbilical cord blood neural stem cell transplantation improves hypoxic-ischemic brain injury显示文摘Human insulin-like growth factor 1-transfected umbilical cord blood neural stem cells were transplanted into a hypoxic-ischemic neonatal rat model via the tail vein. BrdU-positive cells at day 7 post-transplantation, as well as nestin- and neuron specific enolase-positive cells at day 14 were increased compared with those of the single neural stem cell transplantation group. In addition, the proportion of neuronal differentiation was enhanced. The genetically modified cell-transplanted rats exhibited enhanced performance in correctly crossing a Y-maze and climbing an angled slope compared with those of the single neural stem cell transplantation group. These results showed that human insulin-like growth factor 1-transfected neural stem cell transplantation promotes the recovery of the learning, memory and motor functions in hypoxic-ischemic rats. | Dengna Zhu Yanjie Jia Jun Wang Boai Zhang Guohui Niu Yazhen Fan | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,19: | 3
A Novel Artificial Neuron-Like Gas Sensor Constructed from CuS Quantum Dots/Bi2S3 Nanosheets显示文摘Real-time rapid detection of toxic gases at room temperature is particularly important for public health and environmental monitoring.Gas sensors based on conventional bulk materials often suffer from their poor surface-sensitive sites, leading to a very low gas adsorption ability. Moreover, the charge transportation efficiency is usually inhibited by the low defect density of surface-sensitive area than that in the interior. In this work,a gas sensing structure model based on CuS quantum dots/Bi_(2)S_(3) nanosheets(CuS QDs/Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs)inspired by artificial neuron network is constructed.Simulation analysis by density functional calculation revealed that CuS QDs and Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs can be used as the main adsorption sites and charge transport pathways, respectively. Thus, the high-sensitivity sensing of NO_(2) can be realized by designing the artificial neuron-like sensor. The experimental results showed that the CuS QDs with a size of about 8 nm are highly adsorbable, which can enhance the NO_(2) sensitivity due to the rich sensitive sites and quantum size effect. The Bi_(2)S_(3) NSs can be used as a charge transfer network channel to achieve efficient charge collection and transmission. The neuron-like sensor that simulates biological smell shows a significantly enhanced response value(3.4),excellent responsiveness(18 s)and recovery rate(338 s),low theoretical detection limit of 78 ppb,and excellent selectivity for NO_(2).Furthermore,the developed wearable device can also realize the visual detection of NO2 through real-time signal changes. | Xinwei Chen Tao Wang Jia Shi Wen Lv Yutong Han Min Zeng Jianhua Yang Nantao Hu Yanjie Su Hao Wei Zhihua Zhou Zhi Yang Yafei Zhang | 2022 | Nano-Micro Letters2022,14,1: | 3

Effects of caveolin-1 on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells differentiating into neuron-like cells An atomic force microscopy observation显示文摘Bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs) from rats were transfected with Rn-siRNA-caveolin-1 and differentiated into neuron-like cells using fasudil hydrochloride.Membrane ultrastructural changes in MSCs were observed under atomic force microscopy.Caveolin-1-transfected rat MSCs exhibited weak nuclear refraction, dense caveolae and long finger-like cellular processes prior to fasudil hydrochloride treatment.MSCs differentiating into neuron-like cells exhibited weak nuclear refraction and large cellular processes without caveolae. We hypothesize that caveolin-1 plays an important role in the regulation of bone marrow MSC differentiating into neuron-like cells. | Jingjing Lu Lijun Jing Yonglin Jia Jinyi Li Liudong Wang Tao Peng Yanjie Jia | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,16: | 1
Levels of soluble delta-like ligand 1 in the serum and cerebrospinal fluid of tuberculous meningitis patients显示文摘In this study, the levels of soluble delta-like ligand 1 in cerebrospinal fluid and serum of 50 patients with tuberculous meningitis,30 patients with viral meningitis,20 patients with purulent meningitis and 40 subjects without central nervous system disease were determined using an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The mean levels of soluble delta-like ligand 1 in both cerebrospinal fluid and serum from patients with tuberculous meningitis were significantly higher compared with those from patients with viral meningitis or purulent meningitis or from subjects without central nervous system disease.Meanwhile, the level of soluble delta-like ligand 1 gradually decreased as tuberculous meningitis patients recovered. If patients deteriorated after treatment, the level of soluble delta-like ligand 1 in cerebrospinal fluid gradually increased. There was no correlation between the level of soluble delta-like ligand 1 and the protein level/cell number in cerebrospinal fluid. Our findings indicate that the levels of soluble delta-like ligand 1 in cerebrospinal fluid and serum are reliable markers for the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis and for monitoring treatment progress. At the same time, this index is not influenced by protein levels or cell numbers in cerebrospinal fluid. | Jinghong Li Jinyi Li Yanjie Jia | 2012 | Neural Regeneration Research2012,7,11: | 1

Large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma transformation:A novel acquired drug resistance mechanism in colorectal adenocarcinoma显示文摘Acquired resistance is a major problem limiting the clinical efficacy of treatments for metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC).Histological transformation is an important mechanism underlying the acquired resistance of non-small cell lung cancer and prostate cancer to targeted therapy. However,no report has examined the role of histological transformation in mCRC.Here,we report the first case of histologically transformed large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma from primary colon adenocarcinoma during antiangiogenesis and anti-PD-1 combination therapy. The histologic conversion was confirmed by the observation that the transformed large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma lesion retained the original mutational signature found in the primary tumor.Sequential tumor biopsy and dynamic changes in tumor markers demonstrated the transformed process. The histological transformation not only resulted in discordant responses to the same treatment but also significantly shortened overall survival. This case calls for more attention to histological transformation in mCRC.Tumor rebiopsy upon disease progression and monitoring dynamic changes in tumor markers would help to identify such cases. | Feng Du Ying Han Xiao Hu Yanjie Xiao Youwu Shi Jing Sun Zhiwei Sun Ying Yang Jing Yu Xiaodong Zhang Jun Jia | 2023 | Cancer Innovation2023,2,2: | 0

Protective effects of gastrodine on dendritic spines in kainic acid-injured neurons显示文摘EphB2 affects neuronal cells by altering the dendritic spines. The present study analyzed the neu-roprotective effects of gastrodine by measuring EphB2 expression in rat neural cells cultured in vitro and injured by kainic acid. Gastrodine (12.5, 25, and 50 mg/L) improved morphology in kainic acid-injured neurons, reduced lactate dehydrogenase leakage, decreased neuronal apoptosis, and increased EphB2 expression in neuronal cells. A moderate dose of 25 mg/L gastrodine resulted in the most significant effects. These results suggested that gastrodine suppressed the neurotoxic effects of excitatory amino acids and provided neuroprotection by remodeling neuronal dendritic spines. | Yangfei Ji Boai Zhang Yanjie Jia Guifang Sun Yu Liu Tao Peng Yanru Liu Xingrong Ma | 2011 | Neural Regeneration Research2011,6,36: | 0
