1Towards an Esox lucius inspired multimodal robotic fish显示文摘In this paper, we further explore multimodal locomotion via an updated robotic fish model based on Esox lucius. Besides the improved actuation properties like higher torque servomotors and powerful electronics,the robotic fish has some innovative mechanical design to pursue diverse swimming modes and superior performance. Specifically, we introduced a ±50° yawing head joint that functions as the neck for enhancing turning ability. A pair of pectoral mechanisms with two DOFs per fin is constructed to achieve 3-D swimming and to enrich multiple pectoral motions. At the control level, an improved central pattern generator(CPG) model allowing for free adjustment of the phase relationship among outputs is employed to produce rhythmic signals of multimodal swimming. Extensive experiments were carried out to examine how characteristic parameters in CPGs including amplitude, frequency, and phase lag affect the swimming performance. As a result, the robotic fish successfully performed various locomotion actions such as forward swimming, backward swimming, turning, diving, surfacing, as well as three pectoral motions in the form of pitching, heaving, and heaving-pitching.We found that small phase lag between oscillating joints which means large propulsive body wave length and undulation width could lead to a faster swimming in body and/or caudal fin(BCF) locomotion.WU ZhengXing YU JunZhi SU ZongShuai TAN Min LI ZhenLong 2015Science China(Information Sciences)2015,58,5:11

7Antibacterial conductive self-healable supramolecular hydrogel dressing for infected motional wound healing显示文摘Wounds on stretchable parts of the human body cause prolonged suffering and involve more severe healing processes than wounds on stationary parts. However, they have received insufficient attention compared with other types of chronic wounds. In this study, a novel supramolecular gelatin(GT) hydrogel composed of GT-graft-aniline tetramer and quaternized chitosan was presented. The hydrogel was crosslinked by monoaldehyde β-cyclodextrin via host-guest interaction and dynamic Schiff base and was free from permanent covalent bonds, heavy metals, and oxidants. Given its dynamic feature, the hydrogel exhibited flexibility, self-healing, and tissue adhesiveness and well adapted to motion wounds. Moreover, the hydrogel was bioactive with conductivity, antioxidant property, hemostatic effect, antibacterial, and photothermal effect(the killing ratio for methicillinresistant Staphylococcus aureus(MRSA) was higher than 99.8% after 5 min of near-infrared irradiation) and exhibited ondemand removability. In the full-thickness MRSA-infected motional wound healing experiment, this novel hydrogel exhibited a significantly enhanced wound healing efficacy with a fast wound closure ratio(about 99.0% for 14 days), mild inflammatory response, high level of collagen deposition, and enhanced re-epithelialization by downregulating interleukin-6 and CD68 and upregulating vascular endothelial growth factor. 9A practical strategy to develop isoform-selective near-infrared fluorescent probes for human cytochrome P450 enzymes显示文摘Currently,the development of selective fluorescent probes toward targeted enzymes is still a great challenge,due to the existence of numerous isoenzymes that share similar catalytic capacity.Herein,a double-filtering strategy was established to effectively develop isoenzyme-specific fluorescent probe(s)for cytochrome P450(CYP)which are key enzymes involving in metabolism of endogenous substances and drugs.In the first-stage of our filtering approach,near-infrared(NIR)fluorophores with alkoxyl group were prepared for the screening of CYP-activated fluorescent substrates using a CYPs-dependent incubation system.In the second stage of our filtering approach,these candidates were further screened using reverse protein-ligand docking to effectively determine CYP isoenzyme-specific probe(s).Using our double-filtering approach,probes S9 and S10 were successfully developed for the real-time and selective detection of CYP2C9 and CYP2J2,respectively,to facilitate high-throughput screening and assessment of CYP2C9-mediated clinical drug interaction risks and CYP2J2-associated disease diagnosis.These observations suggest that our strategy could be used to develop the isoform-specific probes for CYPs.Lei Feng Xiangge Tian Dahong Yao Zhenlong Yu Xiaokui Huo Zhenhao Tian Jing Ning Jingnan Cui Tony D.James Xiaochi Ma 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:0

13Angioarchitecture and prognosis of pediatric intracranial pial arteriovenous fistula显示文摘Objective Pial arteriovenous fistulas(PAVFs)are rare and mostly observed in children.However,the overall angioarchitecture,clinical features,treatments and long-term prognosis for pediatric patients remain unclear.Methods Clinical data of consecutive 42 pediatric PAVFs were documented and analysed.According to the differences of age distribution and clinical features,they were split into a younger group(≤3 years old;20 cases)and an older group(3-14 years old;22 cases).Results Their mean age was 4.9±3.9 years,and the mean preoperative modified Rankin Scale(mRS)score was 1.64±1.57.Fourteen patients(33.3%)were asymptomatic,followed by epilepsy(21.4%),intracranial haemorrhage(16.7%),hydrocephalus(9.5%),developmental delay(7.1%),intermittent headache(7.1%)and congestive heart failure(4.8%).Annual bleeding rate and rebleeding rate before treatment reached 3.86%and 3.17%.Poor venous drainage including sinus dynamic obstruction(21 cases,50.0%)and sinus occlusion(17 cases,40.48%)were found with high frequency among these patients.Finally,33 cases were cured(78.57%),and 4 cases faced surgery-related complications(9.52%).During 24-140 months’follow-up,the mean mRS score reduced to 0.57±0.40.However,only 22 cases(52.38%)recovered to absolutely normal,and poor venous drainage was the risk factor for patients’incomplete recovery(p=0.028,Exp(B)=14.692,95%CI 1.346 to 160.392).Compared with the older group,younger group showed more chronic symptoms,more secondary pathological changes,more times treatment and worse prognosis(p=0.013,0.002,0.000 and 0.032,respectively).Conclusions Pediatric PAVF has different angioarchitectures,clinical features and prognoses in different age groups.Poor venous drainage is an important factor leading to poor prognosis,and it accounts for incomplete recovery in nearly half of patients.Jingwei Li Zhenlong Ji Jiaxing Yu Jian Ren Fan Yang Lisong Bian Xinglong Zhi Guilin Li Hongqi Zhang 2023Stroke & Vascular Neurology2023,8,4:0
14Hydroxyproline alleviates 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal-induced DNA damage and apoptosis in porcine intestinal epithelial cells显示文摘Oxidative stress has been confirmed in relation to intestinal mucosa damage and multiple bowel diseases.Hydroxyproline (Hyp) is an imino acid abundant in sow's milk. Compelling evidence has beengathered showing the potential antioxidative properties of Hyp. However, the role and mechanism ofHyp in porcine intestinal epithelial cells in response to oxidative stress remains unknown. In this study,small intestinal epithelial cell lines of piglets (IPEC-1) were used to evaluate the protective effects of Hypon 4-hydroxy-2-nonenal (4-HNE)-induced oxidative DNA damage and apoptosis. IPEC-1 pretreated with0.5 to 5 mmol/L Hyp were exposed to 4-HNE (40 mmol/L) in the presence or absence of Hyp. Thereafter,the cells were subjected to apoptosis detection by Hoechst staining, flow cytometry, and Western blot orDNA damage analysis by comet assay, immunofluorescence, and reverse-transcription quantitative PCR(RT-qPCR). Cell apoptosis and the upregulation of cleaved-caspase-3 induced by 4-HNE (40 mmol/L) wereinhibited by 5 mmol/L of Hyp. In addition, 5 mmol/L Hyp attenuated 4-HNE-induced reactive oxygenspecies (ROS) accumulation, glutathione (GSH) deprivation and DNA damage. The elevation in transcriptionof GADD45a (growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible protein 45 alpha) and GADD45b(growth arrest and DNA-damage-inducible protein 45 beta), as well as the phosphorylation of H2AX(H2A histone family, member X), p38 MAPK (mitogen-activated protein kinase), and JNK (c-Jun N-terminalkinase) in cells treated with 4-HNE were alleviated by 5 mmol/L Hyp. Furthermore, Hyp supplementationincreased the protein abundance of Krüppel like factor 4 (KLF4) in cells exposed to 4-HNE.Suppression of KLF4 expression by kenpaulone impeded the resistance of Hyp-treated cells to DNAdamage and apoptosis induced by 4-HNE. Collectively, our results indicated that Hyp serves to protectagainst 4-HNE-induced apoptosis and DNA damage in IPEC-1 cells, which is partially pertinent with theenhanced expression of KLF4.
