| 1 | The response of annual runoff to the height change of the summertime 0℃ level over Xinjiang显示文摘According to climate features and river runoff conditions,Xinjiang could be divided into three research areas:The Altay-Tacheng region,the Tianshan Mountain region and the northern slope of the Kunlun Mountains.Utilizing daily observations from 12 sounding stations and the annual runoff dataset from 34 hydrographical stations in Xinjiang for the period 1960-2002,the variance of the summertime 0℃ level height and the changing trends of river runoff are analyzed both qualitatively and quantitatively,through trend contrast of curves processed by a 5-point smoothing procedure and linear correlation.The variance of the summertime 0℃ level height in Xinjiang correlates well with that of the annual river runoff,especially since the early 1990s,but it differs from region to region,with both the average height of the 0℃ level and runoff quantity significantly increasing over time in the Altay-Tacheng and Tianshan Mountain regions but decreasing on the northern slope of the Kunlun Mountains.The correlation holds for the whole of Xinjiang as well as the three individual regions,with a 0.01 significance level.This indicates that in recent years,climate change in Xinjiang has affected not only the surface layer but also the upper levels of the atmosphere,and this raising and lowering of the summertime 0℃ level has a direct impact on the warming and wetting process in Xinjiang and the amount of river runoff.Warming due to climate change increases the height of the 0℃ level,but also speeds up,ice-snow melting in mountain regions,which in turn increases river runoff,leading to a season of plentiful water instead of the more normal low flow period. | ZHANG Guangxing SUN Shufang MA Yufen ZHAO Ling | 2010 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2010,20,6: | 10 |

| 3 | N-phosphoryl amino acid models for P–N bonds in prebiotic chemical evolution显示文摘Post-translational modification of proteins by N-phosphorylation of the basic amino acid residues plays important roles in biological processes. The high-energy P–N bond might have contributed to the evolution of prebiotic chemistry. N-phosphoryl amino acids(PAAs) can serve as interesting small molecular models for the study of P–N bonds in prebiotic chemical evolution. PAAs are capable of simultaneously producing several important biomolecules such as polypeptides and oligonucleotides under mild reaction conditions. In this review, we describe the chemistry of PAAs, discusse their likely prebiotic origins and their reactivity and how they relate to biological P–N bond species. | 6 | Orientation of the peptide formation of N-phosphoryl amino acids in solution显示文摘The peptide formation of N-phosphoryl aminoacids with amino acids proceeds in aqueous solution withoutany coupling reagents. After being separated in sephadex gelcolumn, the phosphoryl dipeptides were analyzed by theelectrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (ESIMS/MS). The result demonstrates that phosphoryl dipeptideswere datected in all the reaction systems. It is found tkat theformation of N-phosphoryl dipeptides is oriented: theN-terminal amino acid residues of the N-phosphoryl dipep-tides are from N-phosphoryl amino acids, and the peptideelongation happened at the C-terminal. Only adipeptide, noβ-dipeptide, is formed in the N-phosphoryl dipeptides,showing that α-carboxylic group is activated selectively byN-pbosphorylation. It has been proposed that intramolecular mixed carboxylic-phosphoric anhydrides (IMCPAs) might be the common intermediates of the reactions, which are difficult to be experimentally observed because of their high activity. In this note, it has been revealed, by means of MNDO, that the IMCPAs are situated at the relatively minimal points of the potential surface and can form in a non-synchronous concerted reaction pathway that passes through a transition state with a hydrogen-bond-bridge structure.
