2Ascorbic acid accelerates Wallerian degeneration after peripheral nerve injury显示文摘Wallerian degeneration occurs after peripheral nerve injury and provides a beneficial microenvironment for nerve regeneration.Our previous study demonstrated that ascorbic acid promotes peripheral nerve regeneration,possibly through promoting Schwann cell proliferation and phagocytosis and enhancing macrophage proliferation,migration,and phagocytosis.Because Schwann cells and macrophages are the main cells involved in Wallerian degeneration,we speculated that ascorbic acid may accelerate this degenerative process.To test this hypothesis,400 mg/kg ascorbic acid was administered intragastrically immediately after sciatic nerve transection,and 200 mg/kg ascorbic acid was then administered intragastrically every day.In addition,rat sciatic nerve explants were treated with 200μM ascorbic acid.Ascorbic acid significantly accelerated the degradation of myelin basic protein-positive myelin and neurofilament 200-positive axons in both the transected nerves and nerve explants.Furthermore,ascorbic acid inhibited myelin-associated glycoprotein expression,increased c-Jun expression in Schwann cells,and increased both the number of macrophages and the amount of myelin fragments in the macrophages.These findings suggest that ascorbic acid accelerates Wallerian degeneration by accelerating the degeneration of axons and myelin in the injured nerve,promoting the dedifferentiation of Schwann cells,and enhancing macrophage recruitment and phagocytosis.The study was approved by the Southern Medical University Animal Care and Use Committee(approval No.SMU-L2015081)on October 15,2015.Lixia Li Yizhou Xu Xianghai Wang Jingmin Liu Xiaofang Hu Dandan Tan Zhenlin Li Jiasong Guo 2021Neural Regeneration Research2021,16,6:6

6Role of microtubule dynamics in Wallerian degeneration and nerve regeneration after peripheral nerve injury显示文摘Wallerian degeneration,the progressive disintegration of distal axons and myelin that occurs after peripheral nerve injury,is essential for creating a permissive microenvironment for nerve regeneration,and involves cytoskeletal reconstruction.However,it is unclear whether microtubule dynamics play a role in this process.To address this,we treated cultured sciatic nerve explants,an in vitro model of Wallerian degeneration,with the microtubule-targeting agents paclitaxel and nocodazole.We found that paclitaxel-induced microtubule stabilization promoted axon and myelin degeneration and Schwann cell dedifferentiation,whereas nocodazole-induced microtubule destabilization inhibited these processes.Evaluation of an in vivo model of peripheral nerve injury showed that treatment with paclitaxel or nocodazole accelerated or attenuated axonal regeneration,as well as functional recovery of nerve conduction and target muscle and motor behavior,respectively.These results suggest that microtubule dynamics participate in peripheral nerve regeneration after injury by affecting Wallerian degeneration.This study was approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Southern Medical University,China(approval No.SMUL2015081) on October 15,2015.Jingmin Liu Lixia Li Ying Zou Lanya Fu Xinrui Ma Haowen Zhang Yizhou Xu Jiawei Xu Jiaqi Zhang Mi Li Xiaofang Hu Zhenlin Li Xianghai Wang Hao Sun Hui Zheng Lixin Zhu Jiasong Guo 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,3:1

8First Chinese ultraviolet-visible hyperspectral satellite instrument implicating global air quality during the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020显示文摘In response to the COVID-19 pandemic,governments worldwide imposed lockdown measures in early 2020,resulting in notable reductions in air pollutant emissions.The changes in air quality during the pandemic have been investigated in numerous studies via satellite observations.Nevertheless,no relevant research has been gathered using Chinese satellite instruments,because the poor spectral quality makes it extremely difficult to retrieve data from the spectra of the Environmental Trace Gases Monitoring Instrument(EMI),the first Chinese satellite-based ultraviolet–visible spectrometer monitoring air pollutants.However,through a series of remote sensing algorithm optimizations from spectral calibration to retrieval,we successfully retrieved global gaseous pollutants,such as nitrogen dioxide(NO2),sulfur dioxide(SO2),and formaldehyde(HCHO),from EMI during the pandemic.The abrupt drop in NO2 successfully captured the time for each city when effective measures were implemented to prevent the spread of the pandemic,for example,in January 2020 in Chinese cities,February in Seoul,and March in Tokyo and various cities across Europe and America.Furthermore,significant decreases in HCHO in Wuhan,Shanghai,Guangzhou,and Seoul indicated that the majority of volatile organic compounds(VOCs)emissions were anthropogenic.Contrastingly,the lack of evident reduction in Beijing and New Delhi suggested dominant natural sources of VOCs.By comparing the relative variation of NO2 to gross domestic product(GDP),we found that the COVID-19 pandemic had more influence on the secondary industry in China,while on the primary and tertiary industries in Korea and the countries across Europe and America.Cheng Liu Qihou Hu Chengxin Zhang Congzi Xia Hao Yin Wenjing Su Xiaohan Wang Yizhou Xu Zhiguo Zhang 2022Light(Science & Applications)2022,11,2:1

11DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys Data Release 9:Cosmological constraints from galaxy clustering and weak lensing using the minimal bias model显示文摘We present a tentative constraint on cosmological parameters Ω_(m) and σ_(8) from a joint analysis of galaxy clustering and galaxygalaxy lensing from DESI Legacy Imaging Surveys Data Release 9(DR9),covering approximately 10000 square degrees and spanning the redshift range of 0.1 to 0.9.To study the dependence of cosmological parameters on lens redshift,we divide lens galaxies into seven approximately volume-limited samples,each with an equal width in photometric redshift.To retrieve the intrinsic projected correlation function w_(p)(r_(p))from the lens samples,we employ a novel method to account for redshift uncertainties.Additionally,we measured the galaxy-galaxy lensing signal ΔΣ(r_(p))for each lens sample,using source galaxies selected from the shear catalog by applying our Fourier Quad pipeline to DR9 images.We model these observables within the flatΛCDM framework,employing the minimal bias model.To ensure the reliability of the minimal bias model,we apply conservative scale cuts:r_(p)>8 and 12 h^(-1)Mpc,for w_(p)(r_(p))and ΔΣ(r_(p)),respectively.Our findings suggest a mild tendency that S_(8)=σ_(8)√Ω_(m)/0.3increases with lens redshift,although this trend is only marginally significant.When we combine low redshift samples,the value of S8is determined to be 0.84±0.02,consistent with the Planck results but significantly higher than the 3×2 pt analysis by 2-5σ.Despite the fact that further refinements in measurements and modeling could improve the accuracy of our results,the consistency with standard values demonstrates the potential of our method for more precise and accurate cosmology in the future.Haojie Xu Hekun Li Jun Zhang Xiaohu Yang Pengjie Zhang Min He Yizhou Gu Jian Qin Zhaozhou Li Antonios Katsianis Ji Yao Zhaoyu Wang Yirong Wang Liping Fu 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,12:0
12Multi-domain abdomen image alignment based on multi-scale diffeomorphic jointed network显示文摘Recently, the generative adversarial network(GAN) has been extensively applied to the cross-modality conversion of medical images and has shown outstanding performance than other image conversion algorithms. Hence, we propose a novel GAN-based multi-domain registration method named multiscale diffeomorphic jointed network of registration and synthesis(MDJRS-Net). The deviation of the generator of the GAN-based approach affects the alignment phase, so a joint training strategy is introduced to improve the performance of the generator, which feedbacks the structural loss contained in the deformation field. Meanwhile, the nature of diffeomorphism can enable the network to generate deformation fields with more anatomical properties. 13Sound radiation attenuation by circular total-reflection elastic metasurface composed of subunits with cubic profiles显示文摘Utilizing metamaterials or acoustic black holes(ABHs)to control wave propagation and then to realize vibration control and sound radiation attenuation is a hot topic in recent years.However,using elastic metasurfaces that possess similar wave manipulation abilities with metamaterials and ABHs to attenuate sound radiation has not been reported yet.In this paper,a circular total-reflection elastic metasurface(CTREM)composed of subunits with cubic profiles similar with ABHs is proposed to realize vibration isolation and achieve broadband sound radiation attenuation of a plate below the cut-on frequency of the ABH.Compared with the corresponding bare plate and the plate containing a single ABH with a conventional design,the sound radiation efficiencies of the CTREM plate within and outside the vibration isolation band are both substantially attenuated.This phenomenon can be attributed to two distinct mechanisms:the total reflection of flexural waves caused by vibration isolation,and the local resonances of subunits.Analyses of the wavenumber spectra obtained from normal vibration velocities of the CTREM plate,both experimentally and numerically,along with the supersonic intensity patterns,reveal that the confined vibration energies are subsonic components localized within ineffective sound radiation areas.This,in turn,reduces the coupling strength of sound and vibration,thereby significantly attenuating sound radiation efficiency.The proposed CTREM provides a lossless and lightweight method for sound radiation attenuation.Feng LIU Zhichun YANG Pengtao SHI Yizhou SHEN Yanlong XU 2023Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2023,36,11:0
14Three-Dimensional Topological States of Phonons with Tunable Pseudospin Physics显示文摘Efcient control of phonons is crucial to energy-information technology,but limited by the lacking of tunable degrees of freedom like charge or spin.Here we suggest to utilize crystalline symmetry-protected pseudospins as new quantum degrees of freedom to manipulate phonons.Remarkably,we reveal a duality between phonon pseudospins and electron spins by presenting Kramerslike degeneracy and pseudospin counterparts of spin-orbit coupling,which lays the foundation for“pseudospin phononics”.Furthermore,we report two types of three-dimensional phononic topological insulators,which give topologically protected,gapless surface states with linear and quadratic band degeneracies,respectively.Tese topological surface states display unconventional phonon transport behaviors attributed to the unique pseudospin-momentum locking,which are useful for phononic circuits,transistors,antennas,etc.Te emerging pseudospin physics ofers new opportunities to develop future phononics.Yizhou Liu Yong Xu Wenhui Duan 2019Research2019,,1:0
15Potassium ion pre‑intercalated MnO_(2)for aqueous multivalent ion batteries显示文摘Manganese dioxide(MnO_(2)),as a cathode material for multivalent ion(such as Mg^(2+)and Al^(3+))storage,is investigated due to its high initial capacity.However,during multivalent ion insertion/extraction,the crystal structure of MnO_(2)partially collapses,leading to fast capacity decay in few charge/discharge cycles.Here,through pre-intercalating potassium-ion(K+)intoδ-MnO_(2),we synthesize a potassium ion pre-intercalated MnO_(2),K_(0.21)MnO_(2)·0.31H_(2)O(KMO),as a reliable cathode material for multivalent ion batteries.The as-prepared KMO exhibits a high reversible capacity of 185 mAh/g at 1 A/g,with considerable rate performance and improved cycling stability in 1 mol/L MgSO_(4)electrolyte.In addition,we observe that aluminum-ion(Al^(3+))can also insert into a KMO cathode.This work provides a valid method for modifcation of manganesebased oxides for aqueous multivalent ion batteries.Zikang Xu Ruiqi Ren Hang Ren Jingyuan Zhang Jinyao Yang Jiawen Qiu Yizhou Zhang Guoyin Zhu Liang Huang Shengyang Dong 2023Frontiers of Optoelectronics2023,16,4:0
16Stress compensation based on interfacial nanostructures for stable perovskite solar cells显示文摘The long-term stability issue of halide perovskite solar cells hinders their commercialization.The residual stress-strain affects device stability,which is derived from the mismatched thermophysical and mechanical properties between adjacent layers.In this work,we introduced the Rb_(2)CO_(3)layer at the interface of SnO_(2)/perovskite with the hierarchy morphology of snowflake-like microislands and dendritic nanostructures.With a suitable thermal expansion coefficient,the Rb_(2)CO_(3)layer benefits the interfacial stress relaxation and results in a compressive stress-strain in the perovskite layer.Moreover,reduced nonradiative recombination losses and optimized band alignment were achieved.An enhancement of open-circuit voltage from 1.087 to 1.153 V in the resultant device was witnessed,which led to power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 22.7%(active area of 0.08313 cm^(2))and 20.6%(1 cm2).Moreover,these devices retained 95%of its initial PCE under the maximum power point tracking(MPPT)after 2700 h.It suggests inorganic materials with high thermal expansion coefficients and specific nanostructures are promising candidates to optimize interfacial mechanics,which improves the operational stability of perovskite cells.Cheng Zhu Xi Wang Hangxuan Li Chenyue Wang Ziyan Gao Pengxiang Zhang Xiuxiu Niu Nengxu Li Zipeng Xu Zhenhuang Su Yihua Chen Huachao Zai Haipeng Xie Yizhou Zhao Ning Yang Guilin Liu Xueyun Wang Huanping Zhou Jiawang Hong Xingyu Gao Yang Bai Qi Chen 2023Interdisciplinary Materials2023,2,2:0
17Functional conservation and divergence of miR156 and miR529 during rice development显示文摘MicroRNAs(miRNAs)are important regulatory elements involved in the regulation of various plant developmental and physiological processes by blocking the expression of target genes.MiR156 and miR529 are two combinatorial regulators,which cooperatively target the SQUAMOSA PROMOTER BINDING-LIKE(SPL)family genes.However,there has been no report about the functional conservation and divergence of miR156 and miR529 during plant development to date.In this study,the biological function and relationship of miR156,miR529 and their target Os SPL14 in rice were explored.Overexpression of miR156e or miR529a(miR156e-OE and miR529a-OE)increased the grain size and tiller number but decreased the plant height and panicle length,while an opposite phenotype was observed for their target mimicry(miR156-MIMIC and miR529a-MIMIC)transgenic plants.Stem-loop RT-PCR results revealed ubiquitous expression of miR156 in roots,axillary buds and leaves,while miR529 was preferentially expressed in the panicle.Accordingly,Os SPL14 could be preferentially and precisely cleaved by miR529a in young panicle but by miR156 in vegetative tissues.Transgenic plants generated by the target immune strategy exhibited obvious growth defects upon the blocking of miR156 and/or miR529 function in rice,confirming that both miR156 and miR529 play important roles in controlling rice growth and development.Moreover,the miR156/miR529-Os SPL14 module negatively controlled grain size by regulating the genes associated with grain size and cell cycling,and controlled plant height through a more complicated mechanism.Taken together,our results demonstrate that miR156 and miR529 respectively function dominantly in the vegetative stage and reproductive stage to control rice growth and development by regulating the accumulation of Os SPL14.These findings facilitate a better understanding of the functional conservation and divergence of miR156 and miR529 family in the miRNA combinatorial regulatory network of plants.Yan Li Yizhou He Tian Qin Xuelian Guo Kun Xu Chunxue Xu Wenya Yuan 2023The Crop Journal2023,11,3:0
18The combination of DNA methylation and positive regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis by MYB and bHLH transcription factors contributes to the petal blotch formation in Xibei tree peony显示文摘Xibei tree peony is a distinctive cultivar group that features red–purple blotches in petals.Interestingly,the pigmentations of blotches and non-blotches are largely independent of one another.The underlying molecular mechanism had attracted lots of attention from investigators,but was still uncertain.Our present work demonstrates the factors that are closely related to blotch formation in Paeonia rockii‘Shu Sheng Peng Mo’.Non-blotch pigmentation is prevented by the silencing of anthocyanin structural genes,among which PrF3H,PrDFR,and PrANS are the three major genes.We characterized two R2R3-MYBs as the key transcription factors that control the early and late anthocyanin biosynthetic pathways.PrMYBa1,which belongs to MYB subgroup 7(SG7)was found to activate the early biosynthetic gene(EBG)PrF3H by interacting with SG5 member PrMYBa2 to form an‘MM’complex.The SG6 member PrMYBa3 interacts with two SG5(IIIf)bHLHs to synergistically activate the late biosynthetic genes(LBGs)PrDFR and PrANS,which is essential for anthocyanin accumulation in petal blotches.The comparison of methylation levels of the PrANS and PrF3H promoters between blotch and non-blotch indicated a correlation between hypermethylation and gene silencing.The methylation dynamics of PrANS promoter during flower development revealed a potential early demethylating reaction,which may have contributed to the particular expression of PrANS solely in the blotch area.We suggest that the formation of petal blotch may be highly associated with the cooperation of transcriptional activation and DNA methylation of structural gene promoters.Jin Zhu Yizhou Wang Qianyu Wang Bing Li Xiaohan Wang Xian Zhou Hechen Zhang Wenzhong Xu Shanshan Li Liangsheng Wang 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,7:0
19Effect of Ningxin-Yishen Formula on D-galactose-induced Premature Ovarian Insufficiency Mice by Inhibiting p53显示文摘Background:The prevalence of premature ovarian insufficiency(POI)is gradually increasing,safer and more effective treatments are urgently needed.Objective:The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of Ningxin-Yishen formula(NXYSF)on D-galactose-induced POI mice as well as to shed a light on its potential mechanisms.Methods:Six to eight weeks old female C57BL/6 mice were used in this study and randomly divided into six groups:control group;model group;estradiol valerate(EV)treatment group and NXYSF treatment group with graded doses(9.5,19,and 38 g·kg^(−1)/d).Both EV and NXYSF treatments were initiated at the 15th day of modeling and lasted for 28 days.Afterwards,the ovarian function was evaluated in each group by analyzing the proportion of primordial follicles as well as the serum sex hormone levels.Furthermore,network pharmacology approach was performed to elucidate the potential targets of NXYSF,which was verified through western blotting experiments finally.Results:NXYSF could significantly reverse the inefficiency of weight gain caused by POI,and promote the devel-opment of primordial follicles.In addition,it could restore the abnormal serum anti-Müllerian hormone(AMH),estradiol(E 2),luteinizing hormone(LH)and follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH).Moreover,some crucial key gene targets including TP53 were as propose to be relate with the effect of NXYSF through network pharmacology anal-ysis.Last but importantly,western blotting experiments confirmed that NXYSF could inhibit the expression of p53 protein in mouse ovaries.Jiawen Ma Zaiyang Zhang Xin Yan Cenglin Xu Yizhou Zhang 2023Clinical Complementary Medicine and Pharmacology2023,3,4:0
