| 1 | Factors Affecting Sensory Quality of Cooked japonica Rice显示文摘The sensory quality of cooked rice is an important factor in determining its market price, as well as consumer acceptance and breeding efforts aimed at improvement of rice grain quality. In this study,the sensory quality and physicochemical properties of three japonica rice varieties harvested in two different growing locations(Xiangshui and Hangzhou of China) were compared to determine the most important factors affecting the sensory quality. All the three varieties had higher scores for overall sensory quality in Xiangshui than in Hangzhou, indicating that the growing location is a key factor in determining the sensory quality of cooked japonica rice. In addition to growing location, variety(genotype) also had an important effect. Longdao 18 scored the highest for overall sensory quality in the two locations, whereas Longdao 30 had the lowest score in Xiangshui, and both Longdao 20 and Longdao 30 had the lowest scores in Hangzhou. Many physicochemical properties, such as apparent amylose content, protein content, thermal properties and free amino acid contents, showed significant differences between the two locations. Correlation analysis showed that apparent amylose content and protein content had contrasting effects on all the sensory attributes. The overall sensory quality was negatively correlated with protein content(r =-0.89, P < 0.01) and positively correlated with gel hardness(r = 0.91, P < 0.01),indicating that the protein content and hardness are important physicochemical properties for predicting the sensory quality of japonica rice. | 2 | Robust adaptive fault-tolerant control of a tandem coaxial ducted fan aircraft with actuator saturation显示文摘This paper is concerned with the robust adaptive fault-tolerant control of a tandem coaxial ducted fan aircraft under system uncertainty, mismatched disturbance, and actuator saturation.For the proposed aircraft, comprehensive controllability analysis is performed to evaluate the controllability of each state as well as the margin to reject mismatched disturbance without any knowledge of the controller. Mismatched disturbance attenuation is ensured through a structured Hinfinity controller tuned by a non-smooth optimization algorithm. Embedded with the H-infinity controller, an adaptive control law is proposed in order to mitigate matched system uncertainty and actuator fault. Input saturation is also considered by the modified reference model. Numerical simulation of the novel ducted fan aircraft is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. | 4 | Adsorption separation of carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen on monoethanol amine modified β-zeolite显示文摘A new type of composite adsorbents was synthesized by incorporating monoethanol amine (MEA) into β-zeolite. The parent and MEA- functionalized β-zeolites were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), N2 adsorption, and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The adsorption behavior of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), and nitrogen (N2) on these adsorbents was investigated at 303 K. The results show that the structure of zeolite was well preserved after MEA modification. In comparison with CH4 and N2, CO2 was preferentially adsorbed on the adsorbents investigated. The introduction of MEA significantly improved the selectivity of both CO2/CH4 and CO2/N2, the optimal selectivity of CO2/CH4 can reach 7.70 on 40 wt% of MEA-functionalized β-zeolite (MEA(40)-β) at 1 atm. It is worth noticing that a very high selectivity of CO2/N2 of 25.67 was obtained on MEA(40)-β. Steric effect and chemical adsorbate-adsorbent interaction were responsible for such high adsorption selectivity of CO2. | 11 | Sand flux estimation during a sand-dust storm at Tazhong area of Taklimakan Desert, China显示文摘In this paper, the sand transport during a sand-dust storm in the Tazhong area of the central Taklimakan Desert from 11:29 to 23:56 on July 19, 2008 was observed and measured in real time. The sand flux at Tazhong was estimated using sand transport empirical formulas. The critical friction velocity at Tazhong was 0.24 m/s and the functional relation between the wind speed and sediment discharge at the height of 2 m was established. It was also found that the calculated values by Lettau's sediment discharge formula were close to those of the instrument measurements. | 12 | Discrimination for ablative control mechanism in solid-propellant rocket nozzle显示文摘The ablation in solid-propellant rocket nozzle is a coupling process resulted by chemistry, heat and mass transfer. Based on the heat and mass transfer theory, the aero-thermo-dynamic, and thermo-chemical kinetics, the thermal-chemical ablation model is established. Simulations are completed on the heat flow field and chemical ablation in the nozzle with different concentrations, frequency factors and activation energy of H2. The calculation results show that the concentration and the activation energy of H2 can provoke the transformation of control mechanism, whereas the influence brought by the frequency factor of H2 is feeble under a high-temperature and high-pressure combustion circumstance. The discrimination for ablative control mechanism is dependent on both concentration and activation energy of H2. | 16 | Brain-derived neurotrophic factor inhibits glucose intolerance after cerebral ischemia显示文摘Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is associated with the insulin signaling pathway and glucose metabolism.We hypothesized that expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and its receptor may be involved in glucose intolerance following ischemic stress.To verify this hypothesis,this study aimed to observe the changes in brain-derived neurotrophic factor and tyrosine kinase B receptor expression in glucose metabolism-associated regions following cerebral ischemic stress in mice.At day 1 after middle cerebral artery occlusion,the expression levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor were significantly decreased in the ischemic cortex,hypothalamus,liver,skeleta muscle,and pancreas.The expression levels of tyrosine kinase B receptor were decreased in the hypothalamus and liver,and increased in the skeletal muscle and pancreas,but remained unchanged in the cortex.Intrahypothalamic administration of brain-derived neurotrophic factor(40ng)suppressed the decrease in insulin receptor and tyrosine-phosphorylated insulin receptor expression in the liver and skeletal muscle,and inhibited the overexpression of gluconeogenesis-associated phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and glucose-6-phosphatase in the liver of cerebral ischemic mice.However,serum insulin levels remained unchanged.Our experimental findings indicate that brain-derived neurotrophic factor can promote glucose metabolism,reduce gluconeogenesis,and decrease blood glucose levels after cerebral ischemic stress.The low expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor following cerebral ischemia may be involved in the development of glucose intolerance. | Xiaoliang Shu Yongsheng Zhang Han Xu Kai Kang Donglian Cai | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,25: | 3 |
| 17 | Electroacupuncture relieves irritable bowel syndrome by increasing expression of nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain protein-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6 in water-avoidance stress mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture(EA) on irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) in mice through regulating nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain protein-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 6(NLRP6).METHODS: Water-avoidance stress(WAS) mice model was used to investigate the effects and the mechanism of EA. Abdominal withdrawal reflex test, open field test, and intestinal motility test were used to evaluate visceral sensitivity, anxiety,and intestinal motility in mice. The expressions of NLRP6, Mucin-2(MUC2) and E-cadherin were determined using immunofluorescence and Western blotting assays.RESULTS: EA significantly upregulated the expression of NLRP6 in the intestine of mice. | 19 | Potassium 2-(1-hydroxypentyl)-benzoate improves depressive-like behaviors in rat model显示文摘Potassium 2-(1-hydroxypentyl)-benzoate(PHPB) is a novel drug candidate for acute ischemic stroke. PHPB has been also shown to be beneficial for some neurodegenerative diseases. In this study, we demonstrated that PHPB improved depressive-like behaviors induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) in rats. Male SD rats were subjected to the stress for five weeks. PHPB(30 and 100 mg/kg) or fluoxetine(FLX 10 mg/kg, as positive control) was administered orally from the third week in CUMS procedure. The behavioral tests were applied and then the biochemical studies were carried out. PHPB or FLX treatment rescued the behavioral deficiency in CUMS-exposed rats. Meanwhile, PHPB normalized the enhanced level of serum corticosterone, improved hippocampal and serum BDNF levels, as well as p-CREB level in hippocampus. In addition, PHPB could reverse the reduced level of extracellular 5-HT and its metabolite 5-HIAA in prefrontal cortex(PFC) of depressed rats. In summary, our results showed that PHPB improved depression-like behaviors in CUMS-exposed rats. | 20 | Image recognition and empirical application of desert plant species based on convolutional neural network显示文摘In recent years,deep convolution neural network has exhibited excellent performance in computer vision and has a far-reaching impact.Traditional plant taxonomic identification requires high expertise,which is time-consuming.Most nature reserves have problems such as incomplete species surveys,inaccurate taxonomic identification,and untimely updating of status data.Simple and accurate recognition of plant images can be achieved by applying convolutional neural network technology to explore the best network model.Taking 24 typical desert plant species that are widely distributed in the nature reserves in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China as the research objects,this study established an image database and select the optimal network model for the image recognition of desert plant species to provide decision support for fine management in the nature reserves in Xinjiang,such as species investigation and monitoring,by using deep learning.Since desert plant species were not included in the public dataset,the images used in this study were mainly obtained through field shooting and downloaded from the Plant Photo Bank of China(PPBC).After the sorting process and statistical analysis,a total of 2331 plant images were finally collected(2071 images from field collection and 260 images from the PPBC),including 24 plant species belonging to 14 families and 22 genera.A large number of numerical experiments were also carried out to compare a series of 37 convolutional neural network models with good performance,from different perspectives,to find the optimal network model that is most suitable for the image recognition of desert plant species in Xinjiang.The results revealed 24 models with a recognition Accuracy,of greater than 70.000%.Among which,Residual Network X_8GF(RegNetX_8GF)performs the best,with Accuracy,Precision,Recall,and F1(which refers to the harmonic mean of the Precision and Recall values)values of 78.33%,77.65%,69.55%,and 71.26%,respectively.Considering the demand factors of hardware equipment and inference time,Mobile NetworkV2 achieves the best balance among the Accuracy,the number of parameters and the number of floating-point operations.The number of parameters for Mobile Network V2(MobileNetV2)is 1/16 of RegNetX_8GF,and the number of floating-point operations is 1/24.Our findings can facilitate efficient decision-making for the management of species survey,cataloging,inspection,and monitoring in the nature reserves in Xinjiang,providing a scientific basis for the protection and utilization of natural plant resources. | LI Jicai SUN Shiding JIANG Haoran TIAN Yingjie XU Xiaoliang | 2022 | Journal of Arid Land2022,14,12: | 2 |
