1Water in the Mogao Grottoes,China:where it comes from and how it is driven显示文摘The Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes in China was designated as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1987 and is famous for its cultural relics. Water is the most active factor that harms the relics in the caves as it damages the grotto murals and painted sculptures. Thus, determining the water sources and driving forces of water movement is a key issue for protecting these cultural relics. These issues have troubled relics protectors for a long time. In this study, the authors chose a representative cave in the Mogao Grottoes and, by completely sealing the cave to make a closed system, measured the water vapor from the surrounding rock. This was accomplished by installing a condensation–dehumidification temperature–humidity control system for the collection of water vapor. The results show that there is continuous evaporation from the deep surrounding rock into the cave. The daily evaporation capacity is determined to be 1.02 g/(d?m2). The water sources and driving forces of water movement were further analyzed according to the character of the water evaporation and by monitoring the temperature and humidity of the surrounding rock. It was found that the water vapor in the cave derives from phreatic water. Moreover, the yearly fluctuation of temperature in the surrounding rock and geothermal forces are the basic powers responsible for driving phreatic evaporation. Under the action of the yearly temperature fluctuations, decomposition and combination of bound water acts as a 'pump' that drives phreatic water migration and evaporation. When the temperature rises, bound water decomposes and evaporates; and when it falls, the rock absorbs moisture. This causes the phreatic water to move from deep regions to shallow ones. 2CsPrx25,a class III peroxidase in Citrus sinensis,confers resistance to citrus bacterial canker through the maintenance of ROS homeostasis and cell wall lignification显示文摘Citrus bacterial canker(CBC)results from Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc)infection and poses a grave threat to citrus production.Class III peroxidases(CIII Prxs)are key proteins to the environmental adaptation of citrus plants to a range of exogenous pathogens,but the role of CIII Prxs during plant resistance to CBC is poorly defined.Herein,we explored the role of CsPrx25 and its contribution to plant defenses in molecular detail.Based on the expression analysis,CsPrx25 was identified as an apoplast-localized protein that is differentially regulated by Xcc infection,salicylic acid,and methyl jasmone acid in the CBC-susceptible variety Wanjincheng(C.sinensis)and the CBC-resistant variety Calamondin(C.madurensis).Transgenic Wanjincheng plants overexpressing CsPrx25 were generated,and these transgenic plants exhibited significantly increased CBC resistance compared with the WT plants.In addition,the CsPrx25-overexpressing plants displayed altered reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis accompanied by enhanced H_(2)O_(2) levels,which led to stronger hypersensitivity responses during Xcc infection.Moreover,the overexpression of CsPrx25 enhanced lignification as an apoplastic barrier for Xcc infection.Taken together,the results highlight how CsPrx25-mediated ROS homeostasis reconstruction and cell wall lignification can enhance the resistance of sweet orange to CBC.Qiang Li Xiujuan Qin Jingjing Qi Wanfu Dou Christophe Dunand Shanchun Chen Yongrui He 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:5
3CitGVD:a comprehensive database of citrus genomic variations显示文摘Citrus is one of the most important commercial fruit crops worldwide.With the vast genomic data currently available for citrus fruit,genetic relationships,and molecular markers can be assessed for the development of molecular breeding and genomic selection strategies.In this study,to permit the ease of access to these data,a web-based database,the citrus genomic variation database(CitGVD,http://gffzz1758061741e3440chpf9n66wkqv6n6fu6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/home)was developed as the first citrusspecific comprehensive database dedicated to genome-wide variations including single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)and insertions/deletions(INDELs).The current version(V1.0.0)of CitGVD is an open-access resource centered on 1,493,258,964 high-quality genomic variations and 84 phenotypes of 346 organisms curated from in-house projects and public resources.CitGVD integrates closely related information on genomic variation annotations,related gene annotations,and details regarding the organisms,incorporating a variety of built-in tools for data accession and analysis.As an example,CitGWAS can be used for genome-wide association studies(GWASs)with SNPs and phenotypic data,while CitEVOL can be used for genetic structure analysis.These features make CitGVD a comprehensive web portal and bioinformatics platform for citrus-related studies.It also provides a model for analyzing genome-wide variations for a wide range of crop varieties.Qiang Li Jingjing Qi Xiujuan Qin Wanfu Dou Tiangang Lei Anhua Hu Ruirui Jia Guojin Jiang Xiuping Zou Qin Long Lanzhen Xu Aihong Peng Lixiao Yao Shanchun Chen Yongrui He 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:4
4CsWAKL08,a pathogen-induced wall-associated receptor-like kinase in sweet orange,confers resistance to citrus bacterial canker via ROS control and JA signaling显示文摘Citrus bacterial canker(CBC)is a disease resulting from Xanthomonas citri subsp.citri(Xcc)infection and poses a grave threat to citrus production worldwide.Wall-associated receptor-like kinases(WAKLs)are proteins with a central role in resisting a range of fungal and bacterial diseases.The roles of WAKLs in the context of CBC resistance,however,remain unclear.Here,we explored the role of CsWAKL08,which confers resistance to CBC,and we additionally analyzed the molecular mechanisms of CsWAKL08-mediated CBC resistance.Based on systematic annotation and induced expression analysis of the CsWAKL family in Citrus sinensis,CsWAKL08 was identified as a candidate that can be upregulated by Xcc infection in the CBC-resistant variety.CsWAKL08 can also be induced by the phytohormones salicylic acid(SA)and methyl jasmonic acid(MeJA)and spans the plasma membrane.Overexpression of CsWAKL08 resulted in strong CBC resistance in transgenic sweet oranges,whereas silencing of CsWAKL08 resulted in susceptibility to CBC.The peroxidase(POD)and superoxide dismutase(SOD)activities were significantly enhanced in the CsWAKL08-overexpressing plants compared to the control plants,thereby mediating reactive oxygen species(ROS)homeostasis in the transgenic plants.Moreover,the JA levels and the expression of JA biosynthesis and JA responsive genes were substantially elevated in the CsWAKL08 overexpression plants relative to the controls upon Xcc infection.Based on these findings,we conclude that the wall-associated receptor-like kinase CsWAKL08 positively regulates CBC resistance through a mechanism involving ROS control and JA signaling.These results further highlight the importance of this kinase family in plant pathogen resistance.Qiang Li Anhua Hu Jingjing Qi Wanfu Dou Xiujuan Qin Xiuping Zou Lanzhen Xu Shanchun Chen Yongrui He 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:3
5Government integrity and corporate investment efficiency显示文摘We explore the relation between government integrity and firms' investment efficiency in the context of China's deepening reforms and its strengthening the social credit system. We find that government integrity is positively associated with the investment efficiency of listed companies in China. Government integrity is negatively related to corporate underinvestment, but insignificantly related to corporate overinvestment. Higher government integrity reduces underinvestment in non-state-owned firms, but this relation is not significant in state-owned firms. Furthermore, we find that the negative relation between government integrity and underinvestment is only significant for firms in industries that receive supportive government policies. This study enriches research on corporate investment by adopting the perspective of government integrity, and supplements the literature on government integrity and its economic consequences. 6Effect of hole arrangement patterns on the leakage and rotordynamic characteristics of the honeycomb seal显示文摘The honeycomb seal is a vital component to reduce the leakage flow and improvethe system stability for the turbomachines. In this work, a three-dimensional model is established for the interlaced hole honeycomb seal (IHHCS) and the non-interlaced hole honeycombseal (NIHHCS) to investigate its leakage and rotordynamic characteristics by adopting computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Results show that the hole arrangement patterns have littleimpact on the pressure drop and turbulence kinetic energy distribution for the seals, and theIHHCS possesses a slightly lower leakage flow rate than the NIHHCS. Moreover, the numericalresults also show that the NIHHCS possesses a better rotordynamic performance than theIHHCS at all investigated conditions. Both seals show a larger k and a lower Ceff with the increase of the positive preswirl ratios and rotational speeds, while the negative preswirl ratioswould reduce the k and improve the Ceff. 7Overall efficiency of a V-shaped nylon net fence in preventing sand damage to the Mogao Grottoes显示文摘A V-shaped nylon net fence installed in 1990 on top of the Mogao Grottoes is shown to be effectively resisting aeolian sand damage to the grottoes.The structure guides and causes deposition of sand from westerly wind(the primary hard wind),but to some extent hinders the inverse function of easterly wind carrying sand away from the grottoes toward Mount Mingsha.The gobi side by the fence experiences higher wind speed,so that on which are easily formed undercutting pits,and the deposited sands on it generally form double-peak structures due to abundant sand sources.If the earth surface characteristics in gobi areas by both sides of the fence are quite varied,the erosion and deposition features of the accumulating sand section are similar in different seasons;however,if the earth surface characteristics are similar,the features become irregular in different seasons.Sand depositions with long slope feet are formed along the south and north sides of V-shaped nylon net fence.Disrupted by strong westerly wind and northwesterly wind,sand accumulations by north of the fence are in form of single peaks.Although the operation duration of the V-shaped nylon net fence has exceeded its design life(10 years),our observations indicate that it is still effective in reducing wind-driven sand damages to the Mogao Grottoes,so it should not be withdrawn.GuoShuai Li JianJun Qu WanFu Wang Wei Yang 2012Research in Cold and Arid Regions2012,4,2:2
8Polarization-sensitive and wide-spectrum photovoltaic detector based on quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon显示文摘Low-dimensional semiconductors with in-plane anisotropy and narrow bandgap have been extensively applied to polarized detection in the near-infrared(NIR)region.However,the narrow bandgap can cause noise owing to the high dark current in photodetectors.This article reports quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbonbased photodetectors with low dark current and broadband polarization detection.The photodetector was fabricated by evaporating 50-nm-thick Au electrodes on a ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon.Benefiting from the photovoltaic characteristics in the ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon and Au electrodes,these photodetectors can operate without bias voltage,with decreased dark current,and improved device performance.Furthermore,the quasi-1D ZrGeTe_(4)nanoribbon-based photodetectors demonstrate a polarization sensitivity in a broadband from visible(VIS)to the NIR region,such as a high photoresponsivity of 625.65 mA W1,large external quantum efficiency of 145.9%at 532 nm,and photocurrent anisotropy ratio of 2.04 at 1064 nm.They exhibit a novel perpendicular optical reversal of 90in polarization-sensitive photodetection,angle-resolved absorption spectra,and azimuth-dependent reflectance difference microscopy(ADRDM)from VIS to the NIR region,as opposed to other nanoribbon-based polarization-sensitive photodetectors.This work paves the way for utilizing photovoltaic photodetectors based on low-dimensional materials for broad-spectrum polarized photodetection.Ruixue Bai Tao Xiong Jinshu Zhou Yue-Yang Liu Wanfu Shen Chunguang Hu Faguang Yan Kaiyou Wang Dahai Wei Jingbo Li Juehan Yang Zhongming Wei 2022InfoMat2022,4,3:2

15Concentrations,sources,and influential factors of water-soluble ions of atmospheric particles in Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes,a world heritage site in China显示文摘Atmospheric particle pollution is one of the major factors leading to degradation of ancient wall paintings,particularly heritage sites in arid and semi-arid regions.However,current systematic research on the changes,sources,and influential factors of atmospheric particulate matter and its water-soluble ion concentrations is not sufficient.Thus,the major water-soluble ion concentrations,sources,and influential factors of atmospheric particles PM_(2.5) and PM_(10)(particulate matter with an aerodynamic equivalent diameter≤2.5 and 10.0μm,respectively,in ambient air)were collected from Cave 16 and its ambient exterior environment in the Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes,China,between April 2015 and March 2016.Results showed that the concentrations of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) inside and outside the cave were the highest in March 2016 and the lowest in December 2015.The higher particle concentration from March to May was related to the frequent occurrence of sand and dust events,and the lower particle concentration from June to September was associated with good diffusion conditions,increased precipitation,and an established cave shelterbelt.The concentration of particulate matter inside the cave was affected by the concentration of particles in the air outside the cave.Ca2+,NH+4,Na+,Cl-,and SO2-4were the main components of the total ions of PM_(2.5) and PM_(10) both inside and outside the cave.The total ions inside the cave were frequently affected by the disturbance of tourists'activities during the peak tourist season from May to August.Under the influence of dust,the total concentrations of Cl-,SO2-4,Na+,NH+4,and Ca2+in particles of different sizes inside and outside the cave increased,and the concentrations of Cl-,SO2-4,Na+,and Ca2+decreased during precipitation period.Backward air mass trajectory analysis suggested that the pollutants were mainly from Xinjiang,China.The pollutant sources of air particulates are straw burning,secondary pollution sources,soil dust,dry spring rivers,and tourist activities.YANG Xiaoju WU Fasi XU Ruihong LI Na ZHANG Zhengmo XUE Ping WANG Wanfu ZHAO Xueyong 2022Journal of Arid Land2022,14,12:1
