1Adhesive contact of a rigid sphere to finitely stretched substrates显示文摘Exemplified by adhesive contact of a rigid sphere with equiaxially stretched elastomeric substrates, the effect of finite pre-strain on adhesion behavior is studied based on the JKR model. 3Mesozoic Thrust-Nappe and Extensional Structure Frameworks in the East Segment of Southeast Yangtze Block, Southeast China显示文摘Multi-stage Mesozoic thrust-nappe and extensional structures are distributed in the east segment of the Southeast Yangtze Block situated in the junction region of Zhejiang-Jiangxi-Anhui provinces. The features and genetic mechanism of the deformations were analyzed after a detailed field observation of their distribution, geometry, and kinematics. In addition, the time sequences of the thrust and extensional structures were determined by combining the results of the comparative analysis with the chronological evidence of strata and magmatic rocks cut by a fault or formed after a fault according to field facts. This study identified three stages of the nappe structures and at least two stages of the extensional structures during the Mesozoic. The geotectonic setting of the nappe and extensional structures was considered to be related to the different geodynamics in the study area including the Early Mesozoic geological event, i.e., N-S compression, forming Lantian fault, etc.;the Late Mesozoic flat-slab subduction, forming Xiaoxi thrust fault and tectonic window;and the roll-back of the paleoPacific Plate, forming extensional structures like basin marginal fault;the last compression, forming Wucheng-Shenxian fault. 5Surface etching induced ultrathin sandwich structure realizing enhanced photocatalytic activity显示文摘Photocatalytic conversion efficiency is limited by serious charge carrier recombination. Efficient carrier separation is usually achieved by elegantly-designed multi-component structures connected by directional electric field. Herein, we developed a twodimensional(2 D) sandwich structure, as a new photocatalytic system, to realize high-efficiency carrier separation. This strategy integrated multifunction into a single structure for the first time, which successfully introduces a stable built-in electric field,realizing high-effective carrier separation. Besides, the carrier concentration is dramatically increased due to dimensional confinement. Benefiting from above synergic advantages, 2 D sandwich photocatalyst achieves the highest nitrogen fixation rate(435 μmol g^(-1) h^(-1)) in inorganic solid photocatalysts under visible light irradiation. 6Recent progress in the molecular imaging of therapeutic monoclonal antibodies显示文摘Therapeutic monoclonal antibodies have become one of the central components of the healthcare system and continuous efforts are made to bring innovative antibody therapeutics to patients in need.It is equally critical to acquire sufficient knowledge of their molecular structure and biological functions to ensure the efficacy and safety by incorporating new detection approaches since new challenges like individual differences and resistance are presented.Conventional techniques for determining antibody disposition including plasma drug concentration measurements using LC-MS or ELISA,and tissue distribution using immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence are now complemented with molecular imaging modalities like positron emission tomography and near-infrared fluorescence imaging to obtain more dynamic information,while methods for characterization of antibody’s interaction with the target antigen as well as visualization of its cellular and intercellular behavior are still under development.Recent progress in detecting therapeutic antibodies,in particular,the development of methods suitable for illustrating the molecular dynamics,is described here.Kaifeng He Su Zeng Linghui Qian 2020Journal of Pharmaceutical Analysis2020,10,5:1
7Adhesion hysteresis of a film-terminated fibrillar array显示文摘Motivated by the recent biomimic design of microstructured adhesive surfaces,we study adhesion between a film-terminated fibrillar array and a rigid substrate.Using a two-dimensional model and ignoring the deformation of the fibers and the backing layer,we show that the adhesion behavior is dominated by a dimensionless parameter reflecting the global flexibility of the terminal film.In particular,if the parameter is larger than 0.4,the adhesion is reversible;otherwise one or more hysteresis loops will appear after an approach-retraction cycle,leading to significant increase in the specific separation work.The result is expected to help not only optimal design of the structure,but also other applications such as micro-manipulation in micromechanical systems.YAN ShunPing HE LingHui WANG HuiJing 2012Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,6:1

9Rectifying the Neoproterozoic Stratigraphic Framework of Eastern Jiangnan Orogen, Southeast China显示文摘Studies on the metamorphic and related magmatic rocks within the Jiangnan Orogen,southern China,are important to understand the formation and evolution of this Neoproterozoic orogen because they can provide evidence for revealing the tectonic evolution of the South China Block.Following on from earlier attempts at stratigraphic correlation and creating a framework for the low-grade metamorphosed basement,new first-hand information on the composition and deformation of the East Jiangnan Orogen basement indicates that the sedimentary rocks in the north are composed of the sequential Shangxi Group(Gp)and the overlying Likou Gp,with a clear regional unconformity in between.The Likou Gp includes the Zhentou Formation(Fm.)and the Dengjia Fm.,with the previously named Puling Fm.only basalt interbeds within the Dengjia Fm.The Xucun granodiorite pluton of^830 Ma intrudes the Shangxi Gp,thereby resulting in a 100 mwide hornfels zone within the wall rocks,indicating that the formation of the group occurred earlier than that of the pluton.By contrast,the southern metamorphic rocks of the Xikou Gp and the overlying Jingtan Fm.are flaky,disordered,and strongly deformed.The Jingtan Fm.is roughly equivalent to the Heshangzhen Gp and includes the Zhoujiacun conglomerates in the lower part and a rhyolite in the upper part with interbedded basalt.This assessment of Neoproterozoic stratigraphic sequences and magmatic rocks in the east of the Jiangnan Orogen differs from and rectifies previous studies,emphasizing that explanation of analytical results,particularly geochronology,should be consistent with facts gathered in the field.YU Xinqi LIU Junlai CHEN Ziwei HU Jun ZENG Yan LIU Xiu LIU Mengyan HE Yu MENG Linghui WANG Zishen 2020Acta Geologica Sinica(English Edition)2020,94,6:0

11Emergent antisymmetric wrinkling patterns in films on ridged substrates显示文摘We report the formation of antisymmetric wrinkling patterns in films on ridged substrates induced by the buckling instability of the substrates via finite element simulations and experiments.Our simulated results reveal that the uniaxial compression along the ridge can trigger both the wrinkling instability of the film and the lateral buckling instability of the ridge.The latter could change the wrinkles from a symmetric pattern to an antisymmetric pattern in a range of film-substrate modulus ratio and aspect ratio of the ridge profile,as validated by the experimental observations.A three-dimensional phase diagram with four buckling patterns,i.e.,sole ridge buckling pattern,antisymmetric wrinkling pattern with different wavelengths from ridge buckling,symmetric wrinkling pattern without ridge buckling,and antisymmetric wrinkling pattern with the same wavelength as ridge buckling,is built with respect to the uniaxial compression,modulus ratio,and aspect ratio.The results not only elucidate how and when the interplay between the wrinkling instability and the ridge instability results in the formation of the antisymmetric wrinkling pattern but also offer a way to generate controllable complex wrinkling patterns.Jiahui Zhang Yi Sun Linghui He Yong Ni 2023Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2023,66,11:0
12Improved phase field model of dislocation intersections显示文摘Revealing the long-range elastic interaction and short-range core reaction between intersecting dislocations is crucial to the understanding of dislocation-based strain hardening mechanisms in crystalline solids.Phase field model has shown great potential in modeling dislocation dynamics by both employing the continuum microelasticity theory to describe the elastic interactions and incorporating theγ-surface into the crystalline energy to enable the core reactions.Since the crystalline energy is approximately formulated by linear superposition of interplanar potential of each slip plane in the previous phase field model,it does not fully account for the reactions between dislocations gliding in intersecting slip planes.In this study,an improved phase field model of dislocation intersections is proposed through updating the crystalline energy by coupling the potential of two intersecting planes,and then applied to study the collinear interaction followed by comparison with the previous simulation result using discrete dislocation dynamics.Collinear annihilation captured only in the improved phase field model is found to strongly affect the junction formation and plastic flow in multislip systems.The results indicate that the improvement is essential for phase field model of dislocation intersections.Songlin Zheng Dongchang Zheng Yong Ni Linghui He 2018npj Computational Materials2018,,1:0

14Preload-responsive adhesion of microfibre arrays to rough surfaces显示文摘Adhesion of bio-inspired microfibre arrays to a rough surface is studied theoretically. The array consists of vertical elastic rods fixed on a rigid backing layer,and the surface is modeled by rigid steps with a normally distributed height. Analytical expressions are obtained for the adhesion forces in both the approach and retraction processes. It is shown that, with the increasing preload, the pull-off force increases at first and then attains a plateau value. 15Modeling epidemic spread in transportation networks:A review显示文摘The emergence of novel infectious diseases has become a serious global problem.Convenient transportation networks lead to rapid mobilization in the context of globalization,which is an important factor underlying the rapid spread of infectious diseases.Transportation systems can cause the transmission of viruses during the epidemic period,but they also support the reopening of economies after the epidemic.Understanding the mechanism of the impact of mobility on the spread of infectious diseases is thus important,as is establishing the risk model of the spread of infectious diseases in transportation networks.In this study,the basic structure and application of various epidemic spread models are reviewed,including mathematical models,statistical models,network-based models,and simulation models.The advantages and limitations of model applications within transportation systems are analyzed,including dynamic characteristics of epidemic transmission and decision supports for management and control.Lastly,research trends and prospects are discussed.It is suggested that there is a need for more in-depth research to examine the mutual feedback mechanism of epidemics and individual behavior,as well as the proposal and evaluation of intervention measures.The findings in this study can help evaluate disease intervention strategies,provide decision supports for transport policy during the epidemic period,and ameliorate the deficiencies of the existing system.Jian Li Tao Xiang Linghui He 2021Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2021,8,2:0
16Enhanced thermal isolation in porous thermal barrier coatings by the formation of pore guided thermal-shock cracks显示文摘Pore structure design is an effective strategy to tailor the thermal isolation capability of thermal barrier coatings(TBCs).Pursuing optimal porosity is crucial to balance the requirements of thermal isolation and mechanical reliability since the pore structure shields thermal heat transfer but increases mechanical degradation.In this work,we investigate how thermal heat transfer couples with fracture propagation in porous TBCs by the using thermo-mechanical coupling phase field model for fracture.The simulated results show that cracks induced by thermal shock favor deflection that is sometimes perpendicular to the direction of heat flow.The thermal conductivity degradation by the transverse cracks significantly impedes thermal heat transfer,leads to enhanced reduction of the effective thermal conductivity of TBCs,decreases the average thermal stress of the substrate,and thus decreases the risk of the crack penetrating into the substrate.The numerical results demonstrate that the phase field method fully considering the thermo-mechanical interaction between cracks and pores can be a useful tool to improve the thermal isolation of porous TBCs under extreme thermal shock loadings through pore structure design.ZHEN Yu WU KaiJin LIU MengQi ZHENG SongLin HE LingHui YU Yin NI Yong 2023Science China(Technological Sciences)2023,66,4:0
17Buckling morphology of glassy nematic films with staggered director field显示文摘The photo-induced buckling of axially periodic glassy nematic films with alternating stripped director domains is explored by the F¨oppl-von K′arm′an plate theory along with a modified kinetics approach.The effects of domain widths on the critical light intensity as well as the buckling morphology are examined numerically.It is found that in most cases the buckled film forms regularly aligned dimples and protrusions,but shows large scale bending perpendicular to the periodic axis if the widths of the stripes are nearly the same.In addition,change in light intensity is shown to alter the wavenumber of the buckling pattern.These results are expected helpful to the design of shape-shifting structures with glassy nematic films.Shan XIA Linghui HE 2023Applied Mathematics and Mechanics(English Edition)2023,44,11:0
