1Avian influenza A(H7N9)virus:from low pathogenic to highly pathogenic显示文摘OriginalTranslation The avian influenza A(H7N9)virus is a zoonotic virus that is closely associated with live poultry markets.It has caused infections in humans in China since 2013.Five waves of the H7N9 influenza epidemic occurred in China between March 2013 and September 2017.H7N9 with low-pathogenicity dominated in the first four waves,whereas highly pathogenic H7N9 influenza emerged in poultry and spread to humans during the fifth wave,causing wide concern.Specialists and officials from China and other countries responded quickly,controlled the epidemic well thus far,and characterized the virus by using new technologies and surveillance tools that were made possible by their preparedness efforts.Here,we review the characteristics of the H7N9 viruses that were identified while controlling the spread of the disease.It was summarized and discussed from the perspectives of molecular epidemiology,clinical features,virulence and pathogenesis,receptor binding,T-cell responses,monoclonal antibody development,vaccine development,and disease burden.These data provide tools for minimizing the future threat of H7N9 and other emerging and re-emerging viruses,such as SARS-CoV-2.William J.Liu Haixia Xiao Lianpan Dai Di Liu Jianjun Chen Xiaopeng Qi Yuhai Bi Yi Shi George F.Gao Yingxia Liu 2021Frontiers of Medicine2021,15,4:4
2Study and design of cladding power stripper for high power fiber laser systems显示文摘Heat handling has been a significant problem of the high power fiber laser systems as the output power increases rapidly.Cladding power stripper(CPS) which is used to deal with the unwanted optical power and light is required for higher cooling ability. So the methods of stripping the unwanted light attracted much attention recently, and the thermal effect is given. However, few investigations focus on the dissipation of the heat converted from the unwanted light. In this paper,an approach of active cooling for CPS is demonstrated. This is achieved by using microchannel cooling technology in heat sinking in CPS to improve the efficiency of heat exchange. In order to explain the mechanism of CPS the function of it and consistence of categories of the unwanted light are detailed firstly. Then microchannel heat sinking is proposed and verified by the heat exchange theory. At last, the design of the CPS with microchannel heat sinking is shown and following experiment is conducted. The final temperature of the device with 1000 W cladding power was demonstrated at last to verify the ability of heat distribution of the CPS component. 3Development of a reverse transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction-based assay for broad coverage detection of African and Asian Zika virus lineages显示文摘The Zika virus(ZIKV) is an arbovirus that has spread rapidly worldwide within recent times. There is accumulating evidence that associates ZIKV infections with Guillain-Barré Syndrome(GBS) and microcephaly in humans. The ZIKV is genetically diverse and can be separated into Asian and African lineages. A rapid, sensitive, and specific assay is needed for the detection of ZIKV across various pandemic regions. So far, the available primers and probes do not cover the genetic diversity and geographic distribution of all ZIKV strains. To this end, we have developed a one-step quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR) assay based on conserved sequences in the ZIKV envelope(E) gene. The detection limit of the assay was determined to be five RNA transcript copies and 2.94 × 10^(–3) 50% tissue culture infectious doses(TCID50) of live ZIKV per reaction. The assay was highly specific and able to detect five different ZIKV strains covering the Asian and African lineages without nonspecific amplification, when tested against other flaviviruses. The assay was also successful in testing for ZIKV in clinical samples.
