1Biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods for photothermo-chemotherapy and macrophage polarization modulation显示文摘Nanotechnology-based photothermal therapy has attracted great attention in the past decade. Nevertheless, photothermal therapy has some inherent drawbacks, such as the uneven heat production and limited laser penetration, often leading to insufficient treatment outcomes. Here, we developed a combination strategy to improve cancer therapy. The biomimetic albumin-modified gold nanorods(AuNRs) were prepared with incorporation of paclitaxel(PTX). This therapeutic system was characterized by several features. First, the albumin modification enhanced the biocompatibility and colloidal stability. Second, the surface-coated albumin promoted cellular uptake via the albumin-binding protein pathway. Third, PTX was incorporated via hydrophobic interaction between PTX and the albumin lipophilic domain. Fourth, the system can be used for combined photothermo-chemotherapy for yielding synergistic effects. The antitumor activity of the system was evaluated both in vitro and in vivo using the HCT116 colon cancer cell and tumor model. The combination therapy was found with an enhanced treatment efficiency and no obvious side effect. Most importantly, the thermal effect was also discovered with the ability to modulate the tumor microenvironments and suppress the macrophages polarization towards the M2 pro-tumor phenotype. It could be a mechanism for photothermal immunotherapy. 2Effects of laser scanning strategies on selective laser melting of pure tungsten显示文摘Three types of scanning strategies,including the chessboard scanning strategy,the zigzag scanning strategy and the remelting scanning strategy,were conducted to study the effects of scanning strategies on surface morphology,microstructure,mechanical properties and the grain orientation of selective laser melted pure tungsten.The results showed that the pores and cracks were main defects in SLM-processed tungsten parts.The pores could be eliminated using the remelting scanning strategy.However,the cracks seemed to be inevitable regardless of the applied scanning strategies.The microstructures of SLM-processed tungsten were columnar grains and showed strong epitaxial growth along the building direction.A compressive strength of 923 MPa with an elongation of 7.7%was obtained when the zigzag scanning strategy was applied,which was the highest among the three scanning strategies.By changing the scanning strategies,the texture of SLM-processed tungsten in the direction of processing could be changed.Dongdong Gu Meng Guo Hongmei Zhang Yixuan Sun Rui Wang Lei Zhang 2020International Journal of Extreme Manufacturing2020,2,2:6
3Effects of substitution of Nd in a sand-cast Mg-2.5Nd-0.6Zn-0.5Zr alloy with x wt.% Sm(x=2.5, 4, and 6)显示文摘The microstructures and mechanical properties of a series of sand-cast Mg-Sm-Zn-Zr alloys under ascast, solution-treated and peak-aged states were thoroughly investigated. The OM, XRD, SEM and HRTEM were employed to characterize the microstructural evolution. The results indicate that substitution Nd in the conventional Mg-2.5 Nd-0.6 Zn-0.5 Zr alloy with different contents of Sm has comparative grain refinement effect and will fully change the dominant intermetallic phase. In addition, the substituted alloys perform clearly higher strength with comparative ductility at both as-cast and peakaged conditions and much greater aging hardening response than the referential alloy. 4Effects of samarium content on microstructure and mechanical properties of Mg–0.5Zn–0.5Zr alloy显示文摘Effects of samarium (Sm) content (0, 2.0, 3.5, 5.0, 6.5 wt%) on microstructure and mechanical proper-ties of Mg-0.5Zn-0.5 Zr alloy under as-cast and as-extruded states were thoroughly investigated. Results indicate that grains of the as-cast alloys are gradually refined as Sm content increases. The dominant intermetallic ph^se changes from Mg3Sm to Mg4iSm5 till Sm content exceeds 5.0 wt%. The dynami-cally precipitated intermetallic phase during hot-extrusion in dll Sm-containing alloys is Mg3Sm. The intermetallic particles induced by Sm addition could act as heterogeneous nucleation sites for dynamic recrystallization during hot extrusion. They promoted dynamic recrystallization via the particle stim-ulated nucleation mechanism, and resulted in weakening the basal texture in the as-extruded alloys. Sm addition can significantly enhance the strength of the as-extruded Mg-0.5Zn-0.5Zr alloy at room temperature, with the optimal dosage of 3.5 wt%. The optimal yield strength (YS) and ultimate tensile strength (UTS) are 368 MPa and 383 MPa, which were enhanced by approximately 23.1% and 20.8% com-pared with the Sm-free alloy, respectively. 5Roles of pre-formed martensite in below-Ms bainite formation,microstructure,strain partitioning and impact absorption energies of low-carbon bainitic steel显示文摘The roles of pre-formed martensite(PM)in below-Ms bainite formation,microstructure,crystallography,strain partitioning and mechanical properties of a low-carbon bainitic steel were investigated using electron-backscattered diffraction,transmission electron microscopy,micro digital image correlation technique and mechanical tests.It is demonstrated that the pre-formation of martensite eliminates the incubation time for bainite transformation at various austempering temperatures below Ms,indicative of its acceleration effect at the early stage of transformation.This effect is mainly attributed to the surfaces or tips of the PM acting as the nuclei of subsequently-formed bainite,with initial bainite tending to form around the PM.However,the finishing time for below-Ms bainite transformation,especially at even lower temperatures,is retarded,owing to the dividing effect of PM on parent austenite grains,the decreasing effect of lowered isothermal temperature on the diffusion rate of carbon atoms and the strengthening effect of lowered isothermal temperature on supercooled austenite.PM and its adjacent bainitic laths have nearly the same crystallographic orientation and belong to the same block.The pre-formation of martensite largely refines the bainitic blocks/laths and retained austenite.The specimens with PM show relatively uniform strain partitioning among various phases,contrasting with the specimens without PM,for which strains are highly concentrated in the bainite region nearby fresh martensite/austenite(M/A)blocks or between adjacent M/A blocks.The impact absorption energies of the specimens with PM,when austempered at 30-60℃ below Ms,are more than twice higher than those of the specimens without PM,at no expense of tensile properties.Lihe Qian Zhi Li Tongliang Wang Dongdong Li Fucheng Zhang Jiangying Meng 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,1:4
6Microstructures and mechanical properties of a newly developed high-pressure die casting Mg-Zn-RE alloy显示文摘A newly developed Mg-4Zn-2La-3Y alloy with high strength was fabricated by high-pressure die casting method,and its microstructures were thoroughly studied using transmission electron microscopy.The results demonstrate that it owns fine grains and approximately highly interconnected intermetallic phase skeletons,and exhibits ultra-high strength at both room and high temperatures.Interestingly,the eutectic intermetallic skeleton of this alloys is consisted of numerous fine particles,which are mainly consisted of two intermetallic phases,namely W and Mg12RE.Multiple{101}twins and SFs were found in the Mg12RE phase while a few of SFs in the W phase.Additionally,minor long-period stacking ordered phase was observed in the eutectoid phase,and it probably nucleated on the Mg12RE phase following a certain OR as(0002)14H//(110)Mg12REand[1120]14H//[111]Mg12RE,or(0002)14H//(211)Mg12REand[1120]14H//[111]Mg12RE.This special intermetallic skeleton with many interfaces and planar faults can efficiently transfer dislocations across grain boundaries,and this is the key factor for the outstanding mechanical properties of the studied alloy.Xiru Hua Qiang Yang Dongdong Zhang Fanzhi Meng Chong Chen Zihao You Jinghuai Zhang Shuhui Lv Jian Meng 2020Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020,52,18:3

10Construction of chlorogenic acid-containing liposomes with prolonged antitumor immunity based on T cell regulation显示文摘As a potential cancer immunotherapeutic agent,chlorogenic acid(CHA)has entered phase II clinical trials in China as a lyophilized powder formulation for treating glioma.However,the in vivo instability of CHA necessitates daily intramuscular injections,resulting in patient noncompliance.In this study,CHA-phospholipid complex(PC)-containing PEGylated liposomes(CHA-PC PEG-Lipo,named as CPPL),with CHA-PC as the drug intermediate,were prepared to lower the administration frequency.CPPL demonstrated excellent physicochemical properties,enhanced tumor accumulation,and inhibited tumor growth even when the administration interval was prolonged to 4 days when compared to a CHA solution and CHA-PC loaded liposomes(CHA-PC Lipo,labeled as CPL),both of which only demonstrated antitumor efficacy with once-daily administration.Further evaluation of the in vivo antitumor immune mechanism suggested that the extended antitumor immune efficacy of CPPL could be attributed to its distinct immune-stimulating mechanism when compared with CHA solution and CPL,such as stimulating both CD4+and CD8+T cell infiltration,inhibiting myeloid-derived suppressor cell expression,reducing the expression of Th2 related factors,and notably,increasing the memory T cells in tumor tissues.This CHA-containing formulation could reduce the frequency of in vivo CHA administration during cancer treatment via T cells,especially memory T cell regulation.Yun Zhang Yanfang Yang Jun Ye Yue Gao Hengfeng Liao Junzhuo Zhou Yu Feng Dongdong Liu Yingying Meng Xiaoguang Chen Lili Gao Yuling Liu 2021Science China(Life Sciences)2021,64,7:2

14Aging effects on rheological properties of high viscosity modified asphalt显示文摘This work investigated the aging effects on the rheological properties of high viscosity modified asphalt(HVMA).First,the high-and low-temperature rheological properties were measured by a dynamic shear rheometer and a bending beam rheometer,respectively.The aging mechanism was then tested using an Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and a scanning electron microscope.Besides,a study was performed to compare the aging effects on the rheological properties of HVMA,crumb rubber modified asphalt(CRMA),and neat asphalt(SK-90).The experimental results showed that the effects of the long-term aging on HVMA exceeded those of short-term aging.The complex shear modulus of the HVMA was improved by the aging in the whole frequency range.The complex shear modulus of the HVMA after the long-term aging was larger than after the short-term aging.Thus,the aging improved the high-temperature viscoelastic performance of HVMA.With a decrease in temperature from-12℃to-24℃,the low-temperature viscoelastic performance of HVMA decreased since its stiffness modulus and low continuous grading temperature increase.Both of the short-and long-term aging of HVMA were caused by an oxidation reaction,while modifier swelling also happened after long-term aging.Compared to CRMA and SK-90,aging had a limited influence on the high-and low-temperature rheological properties of HVMA.Wei Jiang Dongdong Yuan Zheng Tong Aimin Sha Jingjing Xiao Meng Jia Wanli Ye Wentong Wang 2023Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2023,10,2:1
15Just-in-Time Human Gesture Recognition Using WiFi Signals显示文摘In-air gesture recognition using wireless signals acts as a key enabler for various applications including smart homes, remote healthcare, shared autopilot, etc. Although researchers have conducted extensive research on Wi Fi-based gesture recognition, it remains an open question of providing accurate, robust, and in-time recognition system with the commodity WiFi infrastructure. We present Fa See, a just-in-time Wi Fibased gesture recognition system by identifying the fine-grained Channel state information(CSI) features upon off-the-shelf WiFi devices. The core of Fa See is essentially a novel hybrid recognition algorithm, which combines the classical K-Means algorithm with Dynamic time warping(DTW) together, to transform the feature matching in traditional gesture recognition schemes into a hierarchical manner, thereby significantly improving the recognition efficiency. 17A novel strategy for screening mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel gene of Aedes albopictus based on multiplex PCR-mass spectrometry minisequencing technology显示文摘Background The current prevention and control strategy forAedes albopictus heavily relies on comprehensive management, such as environmental management and chemical control. However, the wide application of pyrethroids has facilitated the development of insecticide resistance, primarily via mutations in the voltage-gated sodium channel (VGSC) gene. This study aims to develop a novel strategy for detecting mutations in the VGSC gene inAe. albopictus using multiplex PCR-mass spectrometry (MPCR-MS) minisequencing technology.Methods We established a new strategy for detecting mutations in the VGSC gene inAe. albopictus using MPCR-MS minisequencing technology. MPCR amplification and mass probe extension (MPE) were first used, followed by single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) typing mass spectrometry, which allows the simultaneous detection of multiple mutation sites of the VGSC gene in 96 samples ofAe. albopictus. A total of 70 wild-collectedAe. albopictus were used to evaluate the performance of the method by comparing it with other methods.Results Three target sites (1016, 1532, 1534) in the VGSC gene can be detected simultaneously by double PCR amplification combined with matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time-of-flight mass spectrometry, achieving a detection limit of 20 fg/μl. We applied this method to 70 wild-collectedAe. albopictus, and the obtained genotypes were consistent with the routine sequencing results, suggesting the accuracy of our method.Conclusions MPCR-MS minisequencing technology provides a sensitive and high-throughput approach toAe. albopictus VGSC gene mutation screening. Compared with conventional sequencing, this method is economical and time-saving. 18Biosynthesis of Lacto-N-biose I from starch and N-acetylglucosamine via an in vitro synthetic enzymatic biosystem显示文摘Human milk oligosaccharides(HMOs)are very distinctive components in human milk and are beneficial for infant health.Lacto-N-biose I(LNB)is the core structural unit of HMOs,which could be used for the synthesis of other HMOs.In this study,an ATP-free in vitro synthetic enzymatic biosystem contained four thermostable enzymes(alpha-glucan phosphorylase from Thermococcus kodakarensis,UDP-glucose-hexose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase from Thermotoga maritima,UDP-glucose 4-epimerase from T.maritima,lacto-N-biose phosphorylase from Clostridium thermobutyricum)were constructed for the biosynthesis of LNB from starch and N-acetylglucosamine(GlcNAc).Under the optimal conditions,0.75 g/L and 2.23 g/L LNB was produced from 1.1 g/L and 4.4 g/L GlcNAc and excess starch,with the molar yield of 39%and 29%based on the GlcNAc concentration,respectively,confirming the feasibility of this in vitro synthetic enzymatic biosystem for LNB synthesis and shedding light on the biosynthesis of other HMOs using LNB as the core structural unit from low cost polysaccharides.Lijie Chen Yanmei Qin Long Ma Dongdong Meng Chun You 2023Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2023,8,3:0
