3Geochemical characteristics and tectonic setting of the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion in West Junggar,Xinjiang,China显示文摘Mineral chemistry,whole-rock major oxide,and trace element compositions have been determined for the Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion,in order to understand the early Paleozoic tectonic evolution of the West Junggar orogenic belt at the southern margin of the Central Asian orogenic belt.The Tuerkubantao mafic-ultramafic intrusion is a well-differentiated complex comprising peridotite,olivine pyroxenite,gabbro,and diorite.The ultramafic rocks are mostly seen in the central part of the intrusion and surrounded by mafic rocks.The Tuerkubantao intrusive rocks are characterized by enrichment of large ion lithophile elements and depleted high field strength elements relative to N-MORB.In addition,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays relatively low Th/U and Nb/U(1.13—2.98 and 2.53—7.02,respectively) and high La/Nb and Ba/Nb(1.15—4.19 and 37.7—79.82,respectively).These features indicate that the primary magma of the intrusion was derived from partial melting of a previously metasomatized mantle source in a subduction setting.The trace element patterns of peridotites,gabbros,and diorite in the Tuerkubantao intrusion have sub-parallel trends,suggesting that the different rock types are related to each other by differentiation of the same primary magma.The intrusive contact between peridotite and gabbro clearly suggest that the Tuerkubantao is not a fragment of an ophiolite.However,the Tuerkubantao intrusion displays many similarities with Alaskan-type mafic-ultramafic intrusions along major sutures of Phanerozoic orogenic belts.Common features include their geodynamic setting,internal lithological zoning,and geochemistry.The striking similarities indicate that the middle Devonian Tuerkubantao intrusion likely formed in a subduction-related setting similar to that of the Alaskan-type intrusions.In combination with the Devonian magmatism and porphyry mineralization,we propose that subduction of the oceanic slab has widely existed in the expansive oceans during the Devonian around the Junggar block.Yufeng Deng Feng Yuan Taofa Zhou Chao Xu Dayu Zhang Xuji Guo 2015Geoscience Frontiers2015,6,2:4
4Exploring the biological mechanism of qi deficiency syndrome with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)based on integrated pharmacology显示文摘Objective:To explore the potential biological mechanism of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)qi deficiency syndrome,we used the integrated pharmacology network computing platform and carried out experimental verification.Methods:Using an integrated pharmacology strategy to analyze the potential biological targets of COPD qi deficiency syndrome.Based on the established qi deficiency syndrome rat model of COPD,the biological targets of lung and skeletal muscle were detected by electron microscopy,adenosine triphosphate(ATP)content assays,and western blotting.Results:According to the integrated pharmacological results,it was found that the locations of cell components related to COPD qi deficiency syndrome were mainly mitochondria.Electron microscopy results using lung tissue showed that mitochondria in the lipopolysaccharide(LPS group)and pulmonary instillation of LPS combined with cigarette smoke(LPStCS group)were swollen,deformed,and fragmented,with disappearing or broken crista.Results also showed that the total content of ATP in the lung and skeletal muscle of both groups was significantly lower than that in the control group at the 12th week(P<.05).At the 12th week,the expression of dynamin-related protein 1(DRP1)and mitofusin 1(MFN1)protein was significantly difference than that of the control group(P<.05).At the 10th and 14th weeks,changes in fission and fusion proteins in mitochondria of the lung and skeletal muscle were further detected.There was also a significant difference in the expression between the two groups compared to that in the control group at the 10th week and 14th week(P<.05).Conclusion:These findings suggest that the changes in mitochondrial morphology and ATP content and the unbalanced expression of DRP1 and MFN1 might be the key mechanisms underlying qi deficiency syndrome in rats with COPD.Dayu Lin Shuai Li Chunying Hou Xue Xu Shuzhen Guo Qingqing Wang 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2021,8,1:2
5Drinking water temperature affects cognitive function and progression of Alzheimer’s disease in a mouse model显示文摘Lifestyle factors may affect mental health and play a critical role in the development of neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s disease(AD).However,whether the temperatures of daily beverages have any impact on cognitive function and AD development has never been studied.In this study,we investigated the effects of daily drinking water temperatures on cognitive function and AD development and progression in mice and the underlying mechanisms.Cognitive function of mice was assessed using passive avoidance test,open field test,and Morris water maze.Wild-type Kunming mice receiving intragastric water(IW,10 mL/kg,2 times/day)at 0℃ for consecutive 15 days displayed significant cognitive defects accompanied by significant decrease in gain of body weight,gastric emptying rate,pepsin activity,and an increase in the energy charge in the cortex when compared with mice receiving the same amount of IW at 25℃(a temperature mimicking most common drinking habits in human),suggesting the altered neuroenergetics may cause cognitive decline.Similarly,in the transgenic APPwse/PS1De9 familial AD mice and their age-and gender-matched wild-type C57BL/6 mice,receiving IW at 0℃,but not at 25℃,for 35 days caused a significant time-dependent decrease in body weight and cognitive function,accompanied by a decreased expression of PI3K,Akt,the glutamate/GABA ratio,as well as neuropathy with significant amyloid lesion in the cortex and hippocampus.All of these changes were significantly aggravated in the APPwse/PS1De9 mice than in the control C57BL/6 mice.These data demonstrate that daily beverage at 0℃ may alter brain insulin-mediated neuroenergetics,glutamate/GABA ratio,cause cognitive decline and neuropathy,and promote AD progression.Jiang-ping Wei Wen Wen Yuan Dai Li-xia Qin Yue-qiang Wen Dayue Darrel Duan Shi-jun Xu 2021Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2021,42,1:2

15Improved Data Stream Clustering Method: Incorporating KD-Tree for Typicality and Eccentricity-Based Approach显示文摘Data stream clustering is integral to contemporary big data applications.However,addressing the ongoing influx of data streams efficiently and accurately remains a primary challenge in current research.This paper aims to elevate the efficiency and precision of data stream clustering,leveraging the TEDA(Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analysis)algorithm as a foundation,we introduce improvements by integrating a nearest neighbor search algorithm to enhance both the efficiency and accuracy of the algorithm.The original TEDA algorithm,grounded in the concept of“Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analytics”,represents an evolving and recursive method that requires no prior knowledge.While the algorithm autonomously creates and merges clusters as new data arrives,its efficiency is significantly hindered by the need to traverse all existing clusters upon the arrival of further data.This work presents the NS-TEDA(Neighbor Search Based Typicality and Eccentricity Data Analysis)algorithm by incorporating a KD-Tree(K-Dimensional Tree)algorithm integrated with the Scapegoat Tree.Upon arrival,this ensures that new data points interact solely with clusters in very close proximity.This significantly enhances algorithm efficiency while preventing a single data point from joining too many clusters and mitigating the merging of clusters with high overlap to some extent.We apply the NS-TEDA algorithm to several well-known datasets,comparing its performance with other data stream clustering algorithms and the original TEDA algorithm.The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves higher accuracy,and its runtime exhibits almost linear dependence on the volume of data,making it more suitable for large-scale data stream analysis research.Dayu Xu Jiaming Lu Xuyao Zhang Hongtao Zhang 2024Computers, Materials & Continua2024,78,2:0
16Phenome-wide association study and precision medicine of cardiovascular diseases in the post-COVID-19 era显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 infection causes injuries of not only the lungs but also the heart and endothelial cells in vasculature of multiple organs,and induces systemic inflammation and immune over-reactions,which makes COVID-19 a disease phenome that simultaneously affects multiple systems.Cardiovascular diseases(CVD)are intrinsic risk and causative factors for severe COVID-19 comorbidities and death.The wide-spread infection and reinfection of SARS-CoV-2 variants and the long-COVID may become a new common threat to human health and propose unprecedented impact on the risk factors,pathophysiology,and pharmacology of many diseases including CVD for a long time.COVID-19 has highlighted the urgent demand for precision medicine which needs new knowledge network to innovate disease taxonomy for more precise diagnosis,therapy,and prevention of disease.A deeper understanding of CVD in the setting of COVID-19 phenome requires a paradigm shift from the current phenotypic study that focuses on the virus or individual symptoms to phenomics of COVID-19 that addresses the inter-connectedness of clinical phenotypes,i.e.,clinical phenome.Here,we summarize the CVD manifestations in the full clinical spectrum of COVID-19,and the phenome-wide association study of CVD interrelated to COVID-19.We discuss the underlying biology for CVD in the COVID-19 phenome and the concept of precision medicine with new phenomic taxonomy that addresses the overall pathophysiological responses of the body to the SARS-CoV-2 infection.We also briefly discuss the unique taxonomy of disease as Zheng-hou patterns in traditional Chinese medicine,and their potential implications in precision medicine of CVD in the post-COVID-19 era.Qian Cao Xin Du Xiao-yan Jiang Yuan Tian Chen-hao Gao Zi-yu Liu Ting Xu Xing-xing Tao Ming Lei Xiao-qiang Wang Lingyu Linda Ye Dayue Darrel Duan 2023Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2023,44,12:0
17Toxicity of silicon dioxide nanoparticles with varying sizes on the cornea and protein corona as a strategy for therapy显示文摘The human cornea is exposed directly to particulate matter(PM) in polluted air. This exposure can cause eye discomfort and corneal injury. Ultrafine PM(diameter <100 nm) is thought to be particularly harmful to health, but there is limited research investigating its toxicity to the eye. In this study, we evaluated toxicity differences among 30-, 40-, 100-and 150-nm silicon dioxide nanoparticles(SiO_2 NPs) on the cornea. A 24-hour in vitro exposure of primary human corneal epithelial cells(hCECs) to ultrafine(30 and 40 nm) SiO_2 NPs produced toxicity, as evidenced by cell membrane damage, reduced cell viability,increased cell death and mitochondrial dysfunction. In vivo exposure to the same nanoparticles produced observable corneal injury. These effects were more severe with ultrafine than with fine(100 and 150 nm)SiO_2 NPs. Common antioxidant compounds, e.g., glutathione, did not protect the cornea from SiO_2 NP-induced damage. However, foetal bovine serum(FBS) did significantly reduce toxicity, likely by forming a protective protein corona around the nanoparticles.
