1Role of multi-microalloying by rare earth elements in ductilization of magnesium alloys显示文摘The present work investigates the influences of microalloying with rare earths on the mechanical properties of magnesium alloys.The amount of each rare earth element is controlled below 0.4 wt.%in order not to increase the cost of alloy largely.The synergic effects from the multi-microalloying with rare earths on the mechanical properties are explored.The obtained results show that the as-cast magnesium alloys multi-microalloying with rare earths possesses a quite high ductility with a tensile strain up to 25-30%at room temperature.Moreover,these alloys exhibit much better corrosion resistance than AZ31 alloy.The preliminary in situ neutron diffractions on the deformation of these alloys indicate that the multi-microalloying with rare earths seems to be beneficial for the activation of more slip systems.The deformation becomes more homogeneous and the resultant textures after deformation are weakened.Yuanding Huang Weimin Gan Karl Ulrich Kainer Norbert Hort 2014Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2014,2,1:19
2Development and strengthening mechanisms of a hybrid CNTs@SiCp/Mg-6Zn composite fabricated by a novel method显示文摘The hybrid addition of CNTs was used to improve both the strengths and ductility of SiCp reinforced Mg matrix composites.A novel method was developed to simultaneously disperse SiCp and CNTs in Mg melt.Firstly,new CNTs@SiCp hybrid reinforcements were synthesized by CVD.Thus,CNTs were well pre-dispersed on the SiCp surfaces before they were added to Mg melt.Therefore,the following semisolid stirring and ultrasonic vibration dispersed the new hybrid reinforcements well in Mg-6Zn melt.The hybrid composite exhibits some unique features in microstructures.Although the distribution of SiCp was very uniform in the Mg-6Zn matrix,most CNTs distributed along the strips in the state of micro-clusters,in which CNTs were bonded very well with Mg matrix.Most of the CNTs kept their structure integrity during fabrication process.All these factors ensure that the hybrid composite have much higher strength and elongation than the mono SiC/Mg-6Zn composites.The dominant strengthening mechanism is the load transfer effect of CNTs.Apart from grain refinement,the CNTs toughen the composites by impeding the microcrack propagation inside the material.Thus,the hybrid CNTs@SiCp successfully realizes the reinforcing advantage of“1+1>2”.Chao Ding Xiaoshi Hu Hailong Shi Weimin Gan Kun Wu Xiaojun Wang 2021Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,4:3
3Flow field design and process stability in electrochemical machining of diamond holes显示文摘The metal grille, commonly composed of an amount of diamond holes, has been growingly used as a key structure on stealth aircraft. Electrochemical machining(ECM) promises to be increasingly applied in aircraft manufacturing on the condition that process stability is guaranteed.In this work, a flow field model was designed to improve the process stability. This model is endowed with a variety of flow channel features, together with vibrating feeding modes. The flow field distribution on the bottom surface of the diamond hole was discussed and evaluated as well.The numerical results show that a short arc flow channel could significantly enhance the uniformity of electrolyte velocity distribution and a vibrating feeding of the cathode enables to reduce both fluctuations of the electrolyte velocity and pressure on the bottom surface of the diamond hole.Consequently, the flow field mutations were eliminated. It is verified from the experimental results that a short arc flow channel, when combined with vibrating feeding, is capable of improving machining localization and process stability markedly. 4Unexpected formation of hydrides in heavy rare earth containing magnesium alloys显示文摘Mg–RE(Dy,Gd,Y)alloys show promising for being developed as biodegradable medical applications.It is found that the hydride REH_(2) could be formed on the surface of samples during their preparations with water cleaning.The amount of formed hydrides in Mg–RE alloys is affected by the content of RE and heat treatments.It increases with the increment of RE content.On the surface of the alloy with T4 treatment the amount of formed hydride REH_(2) is higher.In contrast,the amount of REH2 is lower on the surfaces of as-cast and T6-treated alloys.Their formation mechanism is attributed to the surface reaction of Mg–RE alloys with water.The part of RE in solid solution in Mg matrix plays an important role in influencing the formation of hydrides.Yuanding Huang Lei Yang Sihang You Weimin Gan Karl Ulrich Kainer Norbert Hort 2016Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2016,4,3:3
5Improving the Young’s modulus of Mg via alloying and compositing–A short review显示文摘Lightweight,high-modulus structural materials are highly desired in many applications like aerospace,automobile and biomedical instruments.As the lightest metallic structural material,magnesium(Mg)has great potential but is limited by its low intrinsic Young’s modulus.This paper reviews the investigations on high-modulus Mg-based materials during the last decades.The nature of elastic modulus is introduced,and typical high-modulus Mg alloys and Mg matrix composites are reviewed.Specifically,Mg alloys enhance Young’s modulus of pure Mg mainly by introducing suitable alloying elements to promote the precipitation of high-modulus second phases in the alloy system.Differently,Mg matrix composites improve Young’s modulus by incorporating high-modulus particles,whiskers and fibers into the Mg matrix.The modulus strengthening effectiveness brought by the two approaches is compared,and Mg matrix composites stand out as a more promising solution.In addition,two well-accepted modulus prediction models(Halpin-Tsai and Rule of mixtures(ROM))for different Mg matrix composites are reviewed.The effects of reinforcement type,size,volume fraction and interfacial bonding condition on the modulus of Mg matrix composites are discussed.Finally,the existing challenges and development trends of high-modulus Mg-based materials are proposed and prospected.Hailong Shi Chao Xu Xiaoshi Hu Weimin Gan Kun Wu Xiaojun Wang 2022Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2022,10,8:3
6New insight into deformation inducedαvariant selection in a metastableβtitanium alloy during isothermal compression at 600℃显示文摘Variant selection during phase transformation creates a specific transformation texture and finally affects the mechanical properties of the alloys.The transformation lattice deformation associated selection mechanism has not been well addressed.In the present work,the a variant selection in a Ti-7 Mo-3 Nb-3 Cr-3 Al alloy under isothermal compression at low temperature was investigated.The results show that the selection of the a variants is strongly affected by the imposed strain and the load with the dependence on the effective strain distribution induced by macroscopic shape deformation.In the center region of the compressed sample,4 Burgers orientation relationship(BOR)variants orienting in four different directions and forming two sets of’cross-shaped’clusters were selected.Such variants consumed the maximum strain contribution to the macroscopic compression.In the edge region of the compressed sample,only 2 BOR variants with 90°/or 10°/<0001>disorientation relationship were selected.The selection criterion was still obeyed by the variants but with restriction from the local effective strain distribution induced by macroscopic shape deformation.The present work provides the clear information on the interweaving of the imposed compression with the internal lattice deformation and its impact on theβtoαtransformation variant selection.Ke Hua Fan Zhang Hongchao Kou Qiong Wan Yongliang Zhang Weimin Gan Jinshan Li 2021Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2021,31,3:2

10Junction plakoglobin regulates and destabilizes HIF2α to inhibit tumorigenesis of renal cell carcinoma显示文摘Background:Increased hypoxia-inducible factor 2α(HIF2α)activation is a common event in clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC)progression.However,the function and underlying mechanism of HIF2α in ccRCC remains uninvestigated.We conducted this study to access the potential link between junction plakoglobin(JUP)and HIF2αin ccRCC.Methods:Affinity purification and mass spectrometry(AP-MS)screening,glutathione-s-transferase(GST)pull-down and co-immunoprecipitation(Co-IP)assays were performed to detect the interacting proteins of HIF2α.Quantitative PCR(qPCR)and Western blotting were used to detect the expression of JUP in human ccRCC samples.Luciferase reporter assays,chromatin immunoprecipitation(ChIP),cycloheximide chase assays,and ubiquitination assays were conducted to explore the regulation of JUP on the activity of HIF2α.Cell Counting Kit-8(CCK-8)assays,colony formation assays,transwell assays,and xenograft tumor assays were performed to investigate the effect of JUP knockdown or overexpression on the tumorigenicity of renal cancer cells.Results:We identified JUP as a novel HIF2α-binding partner and revealed an important role of JUP in recruiting von Hippel-Lindau(VHL)and histone deacetylases 1/2(HDAC1/2)to HIF2α to regulate its stability and transactivation.JUP knockdown promoted and overexpression suppressed the tumorigenicity of renal cell carcinoma in vitro and in vivo.Importantly,the low expression of JUP was found in clinical ccRCC samples and correlated with enhanced hypoxia scores and poor treatment outcomes.Conclusion:Taken together,these data support a role of JUP in modulating HIF2α signaling during ccRCC progression and identify JUP as a potential therapeutic target.Ke Chen Jin Zeng Yi Sun Wei Ouyang Gan Yu Hui Zhou Yangjun Zhang Weimin Yao Wei Xiao Junhui Hu Jinchun Xing Kefeng Xiao Lily Wu Zhiqiang Chen Zhangqun Ye Hua Xu 2021Cancer Communications2021,41,4:1

14Comparison on crack propagation under tension at 150℃ of Mg-2Zn-1.5Mn alloy sheets with and without crack notch显示文摘Generally,edge crack of rolled magnesium alloy sheets initiates in the RD(rolling direction)-ND(normal direction)plane and then propagate in the RD-TD(transverse direction)plane.Hence,the Mg-2Zn-1.5Mn(ZM21)alloy sheets with and without crack notch were designed to carry out in-situ tensile experiments under 150℃(the same temperature of rolling),with the aim to understand their crack propagation mechanism.The scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD)techniques were utilized to reveal microstructural evolution in real time at designated displacements.The results show that the prismatic slip,basal slip,and extension twining play synergistic role in coordinating strain during the tensile process in ZM21 alloy sheet at 150℃.In both tensile samples with and without crack notch,localized strain is mainly concentrated at relatively fine grain area and the grain boundaries or triple junctions of the grains with large basal Schmid factor(SF)difference,which eventually leads to severe surface roughening and subsequent crack initiation.Compared with the sample without crack notch,the pre-cracked sample exhibits severer deformation at the crack tip due to strain concentration.Strain gradient distribution is observed at the crack tip region in the pre-cracked sample.The crack propagation path of the sample with pre-crack is identified and the underlying mechanism is also discussed.Qiang Liu Jiangfeng Song Qiuyan Shen Liangyin Wu Bin Jiang Weimin Gan Kaihong Zheng Fusheng Pan 2023Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2023,11,5:0

17Bioactive Components of Cordyceps taii and Their Immune Functions in Mice显示文摘The polysaccharide,adenosine and mannitol components of Cordyceps taii collected from the wild were determined,and the effects of aqueous C.taii extracts on immune functions in mice were investigated using carbon clearance and delayed-type hypersensitivity testing(DTH),and by determining thymic and splenic indices.Polysaccharide,adenosine and mannitol levels in C.taii were 36.20 mg/g,0.27 mg/g and 80.20 mg/g,respectively.Aqueous C.taii extracts partially alleviated the suppressive effects on the thymic and splenic indices caused by cyclophosphamide,and increased nonspecific immunity and cellular immune functions.Toxicity tests revealed that the LD50 for aqueous C.taii extract on oral administration was >69.42 g/kg.ZHONG Han GAN Lixia ZHANG Weimin PAN Qingling LI Haohua TAO Meihua WANG Lei TAN Yuzhi LIU Yanping 2008食用菌学报2008,15,3:0

19Enhanced tensile plasticity of a CuZr-based bulk metallic glass composite induced by ion irradiation显示文摘N^+ ion irradiation is utilized to tune the structure and mechanical properties of a Cu48Zr47.2Al4Nb0.8 bulk metallic glass composite(BMGC). Ion irradiation increases the disorder near the surface, as probed by neutron diffraction, and, moreover, causes the phase transformation from B2Cu Zr to B19’ CuZr martensitic phase in the studied BMGC. The tensile plasticity of the BMGC is dramatically improved after ion irradiation, which results from multiple shear banding on the surface and the martensitic transformation of the B2 to B19’ Cu Zr martensitic phase. 20Studies on reaction mechanisms and distinct chemiluminescence from cyanoimino neonicotinoids triggered by peroxymonosulfate in advanced oxidation processes显示文摘In this study, we proposed a novel method to investigate the advanced oxidation process of neonicotinoids(NNIs) from the perspective of concomitant chemiluminescence(CL) reaction. It was found that in the presence of cobalt ions with cyanoimino NNIs, acetamiprid(ACE) and thiacloprid(THI), could promote peroxymonosulfate and Ru(bpy)_(3)^(2+) to produce strong CL, but no CL occurred with nitro-involved NNIs as alternatives. Experimental dada from UV absorption spectra and chemiluminescence spectra suggested that new cyclic compounds might be formed during the reaction. Based on the results of free radical scavenging experiment and mass spectra, a new degradation and reaction mechanism of cyanoiminocontaining NNIs was proposed. ACE or THI were first attacked by SO_(4)^(·-) to form benzyl radicals, which in turn reacted with the carbon atoms of cyano group through electrophilic addition reaction in the formation of intramolecular ring. Then a redox reaction between Ru(bpy)_(3)^(3+) and imino group immediately took place with CL emission(610 nm).
