2Proximate Composition,Mineral Content and Fatty Acids Analyses of Aromatic and Non-Aromatic Indian Rice显示文摘Awareness on nutritive value and health benefits of rice is of vital importance in order to increase the consumption of rice in daily diet of the human beings. In this study, a total of six aromatic and two non-aromatic rice accessions grown in India were analysed for their nutritional quality attributes including proximate composition, mineral contents and fatty acids. Data with three replications were used to measure Pearson's simple correlation co-efficient in order to establish the relationship among various nutritional quality attributes. The result on proximate composition showed that Govind Bhog had the highest moisture(13.57%) and fat(0.92%) content, which signifies its tasty attribute. Badshah Bhog exhibited the highest fibre content(0.85%), carbohydrate content(82.70%) and food energy(365.23 k Cal per 100 g). Among the minerals, the higher Ca(98.75 mg/kg), Zn(17.00 mg/kg) and Fe(31.50 mg/kg) were in Gopal Bhog, whereas the highest Na(68.85 mg/kg) was in Badshah Bhog, the highest K(500.00 mg/kg) was in Swetganga, Khushboo and Sarbati. The highest contents of unsaturated fatty acids viz. oleic acid(49.14%), linoleic acid(46.99%) and linolenic acid(1.27%) were found in Sarbati, whereas the highest content of saturated fatty acids viz. myristic acid(4.60%) and palmitic acid(31.91%) were found in Govind Bhog and stearic acid(6.47%) in Todal. The identified aromatic rice accessions Gopal Bhog, Govind Bhog and Badshah Bhog and non-aromatic rice accession Sarbati were found nutritionally superior among all eight tested accessions. The nutritional quality oriented attributes in this study were competent with recognized prominent aromatic and non-aromatic rice accessions as an index of their nutritional worth and recommend to farmers and consumers which may be graded as export quality rice with good unique nutritional values in international market.Deepak Kumar VERMA Prem Prakash SRIVASTAV 2017Rice science2017,24,1:8
3Numerical study of fractional model of multi-dimensional dispersive partial differential equation显示文摘This article is devoted to a newly introduced numerical method for time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation in a multidimensional space. The time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation plays a great role in solving the problems arising in ocean science and engineering. The numerical technique comprises of Sumudu transform, homotopy perturbation scheme and He’s polynomial, namely homotopy perturbation Sumudu transform method(HPSTM)is efficiently used to examine time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third order in multi-dimensional space. The approximate analytic solution of the time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third-order in multi-dimensional space obtained by HPSTM is compared with exact solution as well as the solution obtained by using Adomain decomposition method. The results derived with the aid of two techniques are in a good agreement and consequently these techniques may be considered as an alternative and efficient approach for solving fractional partial differential equations.Several test problems are experimented to confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methods.Vijay Verma Amit Prakash Devendra Kumar Jagdev Singh 2019Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2019,4,4:2

5Tailoring of structural, optical and electrical properties of anatase TiO_(2)via doping of cobalt and nitrogen ions显示文摘Pure(pristine)anatase and mono–doped and co–doped derivatives of TiO_(2)having nitrogen(N)and cobalt(Co)as dopants with respective fixed doping concentrations of 0.7 mol.%and 1.0 mol.%were synthesized using auto–combustion sol–gel technique. The doping effects at corresponding non–metal and transition metal sites of TiO_(2)on the basis of the structural, optical and electrical properties have been investigated.X–ray diffraction(XRD)measurement confirms the formation of pure anatase phase of TiO_(2)for all samples having I41/amd space group of tetragonal structure which has been also verified by the Raman spectroscopy measurement.Various crystallographic parameters have been calculated by performing Rietveld refinement of XRD data including average crystallite size that has been observed in the range of10–15 nm.Pure anatase phase indicates the incorporation of Co^(2+)into TiO_(2)lattice which assists the substitution of N in place of oxygen in co–doped TiO_(2).The band gap tuning towards the visible region from3.2 to 2.1 e V has been achieved with mono–doping and co–doping of the N and Co in TiO_(2)lattice.This can be described in terms of the formation of localized levels of N–2p and Co–3d states in mono–doping and an isolated intermediate band formation in co–doping case.Electrical properties have been investigated in details and explained as the synergetic effects of structural and inherent ionic characters of various dopants. The observed band gaps of all doped samples lie within the visible region which makes them pertinent as the solar energy harnessing materials for photocatalytic and photovoltaic applications.Anchal Sharma Puneet Negi Ruhit Jyoti Konwar Hemaunt Kumar Yogita Verma Shailja Prakash Chandra Sati Bhargav Rajyaguru Himanshu Dadhich N.A.Shah P.S.Solanki 2022Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,16:1
6Zinc partitioning in basmati rice varieties as influenced by Zn fertilization显示文摘Zinc(Zn) ferti-fortification using different sources and methods in Zn deficient soils is being advocated to increase Zn concentration in rice kernel as an alternative to pursuing greater Zn-use efficiency(ZnUE). A two-year field study was conducted to assess the effect of Zn application on Zn content and uptake at several growth stages and in several parts of the rice kernel: hull, bran, and the white rice kernel. Variety ‘PB 1509' with 1.25 kg Zn ha^(-1) as Zn-EDTA + 0.5% foliar spray(FS) at maximum tillering(MT) and panicle initiation(PI) stages registered the highest Zn content in hull, bran, and white rice kernel. Among parts of the rice kernel, Zn concentration decreased in the order hull > bran > white rice kernel, indicating that brown rice kernels are much denser in Zn content than polished rice.Considering the higher Zn accumulation in the bran, brown rice consumption, especially in Asia and Africa, could be recommended to overcome Zn malnutrition. The variety ‘PB 1401'showed the highest Zn uptake in rice straw, while ‘PB 1509' showed the highest Zn uptake in hull and white rice kernel. Application of 1.25 kg Zn ha^(-1)(Zn-EDTA) + 0.5% FS at MT and PI and 2.5 kg Zn ha^(-1) ZnSO_4·7H_2O(ZnSHH) + 0.5% FS at MT and PI resulted in higher Zn uptake than other treatments. On average, about one third of total Zn uptake remained in the white rice kernel, with the remaining two thirds accumulating in both hull and bran of brown rice. Zn-EDTA along with 0.5% FS, despite the application of a lower quantity of Zn leading to the highest Zn mobilization efficiency index(ZnMEI) and Zn-induced nitrogen recovery efficiency(ZniNRE), produced the highest kernel yield. However, of the two Zn sources, Zn-EDTA contributed more to the increase in ZnUE than did ZnSHH.Prakash Chand Ghasal Yashbir Singh Shivay Vijay Pooniya Mukesh Choudhary Rakesh Kumar Verma 2018The Crop Journal2018,6,2:1

8Bacteriocins as antimicrobial and preservative agents in food:Biosynthesis, separation and application显示文摘Emerging evidence shows the trend of using safe and natural preservatives like bacteriocins in food processing. The increasing demand by the food industry to extend keeping quality and prevent spoilage of various food products has appealed for new preservatives and new methods of conservation.Further,to discover the novel spectrum of antimicrobial compounds that could effectively battle food-borne pathogens, bacteriocins have been intensively studied in the last few years.Recently, great attention has been paid to the application of lactic acid-bacterial bacteriocins targeting food spoilage-causing or pathogenic microorganisms with no significant side effects.Different mechanisms of action like pore-formation,retarding cell-wall/nucleic acid/protein synthesis have been proposed and described for diverse bacteriocins. Therefore, the syntheses, purification of bacteriocins in addition to their applications as antimicrobial and preservative agents in food processing are reviewed in detail. The review will also discuss the preservative effect of bacteriocins and their combinations having multiple modes of action(hurdle approach)to reduce the microbial load as well as antimicrobial resistance.Deepak Kumar Verma Mamta Thakur Smita Singh Soubhagya Tripathy Alok Kumar Gupta Deepika Baranwal Ami R.Patel Nihir Shah Gemilang Lara Utama Alaa Kareem Niamah M´onica L.Ch´avez-Gonz´alez Carolina Flores Gallegos Cristobal Noe Aguilar Prem Prakash Srivastav 2022Food Bioscience2022,46,2:1
9Resistance to second generation antiandrogens in prostate cancer: pathways and mechanisms显示文摘Androgen deprivation therapy targeting the androgens/androgen receptor(AR)signaling continues to be the mainstay treatment of advanced-stage prostate cancer. The use of second-generation antiandrogens, such as abiraterone acetate and enzalutamide, has improved the survival of prostate cancer patients;however,a majority of these patients progress to castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).The mechanisms of resistance to antiandrogen treatments are complex, including specific mutations, alternative splicing, and amplification of oncogenic proteins resulting in dysregulation of various signaling pathways. In this review,we focus on the major mechanisms of acquired resistance to second generation antiandrogens, including AR-dependent and AR-independent resistance mechanisms as well as other resistance mechanisms leading to CRPC emergence.Evolving knowledge of resistance mechanisms to AR targeted treatments will lead to additional research on designing more effective therapies for advanced-stage prostate cancer.Shiv Verma Kumari Sunita Prajapati Prem Prakash Kushwaha Mohd Shuaib Atul Kumar Singh Shashank Kumar Sanjay Gupta 2020Cancer Drug Resistance2020,3,4:0
10Antimalarial activity of a novel series of artemisinin-derived 1, 2, 3-triazole dimers显示文摘Objective: To obtain suitable artimisinin-based drug candidates with high antimalarial activity. Methods: Three different reaction schemes were used to synthesize a total of 15 artemisininbased compounds. The first synthetic scheme involved the synthesis of diazido aliphatic and aromatic compounds from commercially available dihalides and azido derivatives of artemisinin. The second scheme consisted of the reaction of dibromoaliphatic compounds with sodium azide in dimethylformamide which yielded the desired compounds.Artemisinin-based compounds on treatment with sodium azide and bromotrimethylsilane in dichloromethane produced the most potent compound GB-2.Another potent compound GB-1 was synthesized from artemisinin by treatment with alcohols in the presence of Aberlyst-15 in anhydrous dichloromethane. The third scheme involved the Huisgen 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition between the synthesized aliphatic and aromatic diazides and two alkyne derivatives of artemisinin to obtain the desired artemisinin dimers with average yields. Results: The best in vitro antiplasmodial activity was shown by the compound GB-2 registering IC_(50) value 0.066 μg/mL against chloroquine-sensitive and 0.865 μg/mL against chloroquineresistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum. It suppressed 59.0% parasitaemia in vivo of rodent malaria parasite Plasmodium berghei in Swiss albino model at 50 μg/kg body weight dosage.Molecular docking interactions of Plasmodium falciparum ATP6(PfATP6) protein revealed strong bonding of GB-2 with Thr255 residue which is likely to be the reason for excellent antimalarial activity of this compound. Conclusion: Two compounds GB-1 and GB-2 exhibited excellent in vitro antiplasmodial activity and fair in vivo antimalarial activity.Of the two, GB-2 showed better activity which could be attributed to its strong bonding interactions with Thr255 as evidenced from the molecular docking study.Study helped in identifying artemisinin analogues possessing good antimalarial properties and further research in structural alterations of the selected molecules should be carried out which may result in obtaining potent drug candidates against the malarial parasite.Kabita Gogoi Gokul Baishya Biswajit Saikia Nabin Chandra Barua Chandrajit Dohutia Akalesh Kumar Verma Anil Prakash 2019Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2019,12,5:0
11Role of prostate cancer stem-like cells in the development of antiandrogen resistance显示文摘Androgen deprivation therapy(ADT)is the standard of care treatment for advance stage prostate cancer.Treatment with ADT develops resistance in multiple ways leading to the development of castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC).Present research establishes that prostate cancer stem-like cells(CSCs)play a central role in the development of treatment resistance followed by disease progression.Prostate CSCs are capable of self-renewal,differentiation,and regenerating tumor heterogeneity. The stemness properties in prostate CSCs arise due to various factors such as androgen receptor mutation and variants, epigenetic and genetic modifications leading to alteration in the tumor microenvironment, changes in ATP-binding cassette(ABC)transporters, and adaptations in molecular signaling pathways.ADT reprograms prostate tumor cellular machinery leading to the expression of various stem cell markers such as Aldehyde Dehydrogenase 1 Family Member A1(ALDH1A1),Prominin 1(PROM1/CD133),Indian blood group(CD44),SRY-Box Transcription Factor 2(Sox2),POU Class 5 Homeobox 1(POU5F1/Oct4),Nanog and ABC transporters. These markers indicate enhanced self-renewal and stemness stimulating CRPC evolution, metastatic colonization, and resistance to antiandrogens. In this review,we discuss the role of ADT in prostate CSCs differentiation and acquisition of CRPC,their isolation, identification and characterization,as well as the factors and pathways contributing to CSCs expansion and therapeutic opportunities.Prem Prakash Kushwaha Shiv Verma Shashank Kumar Sanjay Gupta 2022Cancer Drug Resistance2022,5,2:0
123D Path Optimisation of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Using Q Learning-Controlled GWO-AOA显示文摘Unmanned Aerial Vehicles(UAVs)or drones introduced for military applications are gaining popularity in several other fields as well such as security and surveillance, due to their ability to perform repetitive and tedious tasks in hazardous environments.Their increased demand created the requirement for enabling the UAVs to traverse independently through the Three Dimensional(3D)flight environment consisting of various obstacles which have been efficiently addressed by metaheuristics in past literature. However, not a single optimization algorithms can solve all kind of optimization problem effectively. Therefore, there is dire need to integrate metaheuristic for general acceptability. To address this issue,in this paper,a novel reinforcement learning controlled Grey Wolf Optimisation-Archimedes Optimisation Algorithm(QGA)has been exhaustively introduced and exhaustively validated firstly on 22 benchmark functions and then, utilized to obtain the optimum flyable path without collision for UAVs in three dimensional environment. The performance of the developed QGA has been compared against the various metaheuristics. The simulation experimental results reveal that the QGA algorithm acquire a feasible and effective flyable path more efficiently in complicated environment.K.Sreelakshmy Himanshu Gupta Om Prakash Verma Kapil Kumar Abdelhamied A.Ateya Naglaa F.Soliman 2023Computer Systems Science & Engineering2023,45,6:0
13Helicobacter pylori isolated from gastric juice have higher pathogenic potential than biopsy isolates显示文摘Persistent gastritis induced by Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)is the strongest known risk factor for gastric cancer(GC).H.pylori is prevalent in about 50%world's population, while it causes cancer in less than 2%of exposed individuals.1 Our studies found that H.pylori infection can induce oncogenic properties in AGS cells by deregulating multiple factors associated with the cell cycle, apoptosis, and other important events associated with cancer progression.Budhadev Baral Dharmendra Kashyap Nidhi Varshney Tarun Prakash Verma Ajay Kumar Jain Debi Chatterji Vinod Kumar Amit Mishra Awanish Kumar Hem Chandra Jha 2024Genes & Diseases2024,11,1:0
14Hunting of hunted:an ensemble modeling approach to evaluate suitable habitats for caracals in India显示文摘Background:Large-scale hunting and various anthropogenic pressures in the recent past have pushed the Asiatic caracal(Caracal caracal schmitzi),an elusive medium-sized and locally threatened felid species towards local extinction in India.Though widely distributed historically,it has been sparsely reported from several regions of central and northern states in India till twentieth century.Later, the species distribution became confined only to the states of Rajasthan,Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, which have had reported sightings in the twenty-first century. In order to highlight the potentially suitable habitats for Asiatic caracals in India,we targeted forth-filtering of the spatial model ensemble by creating and utilizing the validated and spatially thinned species presence information(n=69)and related ecological variables(aridity,NDVI,precipitation seasonality, temperature seasonality, terrain ruggedness),filtered with anthropological variable(nightlight). Results:Out of eight spatial prediction models, the two most parsimonious models,Random Forest(AUC 0.91)and MaxEnt(AUC 0.89)were weighted and ensembled. The ensemble model indicated several clustered habitats, covering 1207.83 km^(2)areas in Kachchh(Gujarat),Aravalli mountains(Rajasthan),Malwa plateau(Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh),and Bundelkhand region(Madhya Pradesh)as potentially suitable habitats for caracals.Output probabilities of pixels were further regressed with converted vegetation height data within selected highly potential habitats,i.e.,Ranthambore Kuno Landscape(RKL)(suitability~0.44+0.03(vegetation height)^(**),R^(2)=0.27).The regression model inferred a significant positive relation between vegetation height and habitat suitability, hence the lowest ordinal class out of three classes of converted vegetation height was masked out from the RKL,which yielded in an area of 567 km^(2) as potentially highly suitable habitats for caracals, which can be further proposed as survey areas and conservation priority areas for caracals. Conclusion:The study charts out the small pockets of landscape in and around dryland protected areas, suitable for caracal in the Indian context, which need attention for landscape conservation.Ashish Kumar Jangid Chandra Prakash Singh Jai Singh Parihar Jasbir Singh Chauhan Rajnish Kumar Singh Prakash Kumar Verma Amritanshu Singh Shantanu Sharma Shekhar Kolipaka 2022Ecological Processes2022,11,1:0
