| 1 | Microstructure, mechanical properties and deformation mechanisms of an as-cast Mg–Zn–Y–Nd–Zr alloy for stent applications显示文摘A new Mg-2Zn-0.2Y -0.5N d-0.4Zr (wt%) alloy designed specially for stent applications has been developed. The as-cast alloy is featured with equiaxed grains with a mean size of about 40 μm and a small am ount of second phase (T phase) distributed discontinuously either at the grain boundaries or inside the grains. This alloy exhibits a tensile elongation of up to 35%, which is much larger than that of most reported other as-cast Mg alloys. The tensile deform ation mechanisms have also been investigated. | 2 | Transcriptome analysis of blood stasis syndrome in subjects with hypertension显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To screen for m RNAs associated with blood stasis syndrome and to explore the genetic mechanisms of blood stasis syndrome in hypertension.METHODS:This study involved groups of patients with hypertension and blood stasis,including those with Qi deficiency,Qi stagnation,cold retention and heat retention;as well as hypertensive patients without blood stasis and healthy individuals.Human umbilical vein endothelial cells were co-cultured with the sera of these healthy individuals and patients with blood stasis syndrome.Total RNA was extracted from these cells and assessed by a high-throughput sequencing method(Solexa)and digital gene expression.Differentially expressed genes among these six groups were compared using whole genome sequences,and m RNAs associated with blood stasis syndrome identified.Differences in gene use and gene ontology function were an-alyzed.Genes enriched significantly and their pathways were determined,as were network interactions,and encoded proteins.Gene identities were confirmed by real-time polymerase chain reactions.RESULTS:Compared with cells cultured in sera of the blood stasis groups,those culture in sera of healthy individuals and of the non-blood stasis group showed 11 and 301 differences,respectively in stasis-related genes.Genes identified as differing between the blood stasis and healthy groups included activating transcription factor 4,activating transcription factor 3,DNA-damage inducible transcription factor 3,Tribbles homolog 3,CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-β,and Jun proto-oncogene(JUN).Pathway and protein interaction network analyses showed that these genes were associated with endoplasmic reticulum stress.Cells cultured in sera of patients with blood stasis and Qi deficiency,Qi stagnation,heat retention,and cold retention were compared with cells cultured in sera of patients with the other types blood stasis syndrome.The comparison showed differences in expression of 28,28,34,and 32 specific genes,respectively.CONCLUSION:The pathogenesis of blood stasis syndrome in hypertension is related to endoplasmic reticulum stress and involves the differential expression of the activating transcription factor 4,activating transcription factor 3,DNA-damage inducible transcription factor 3,Tribbles homolog 3,CCAAT/enhancer binding protein-β,and JUN genes. | He Ling Fang Meixia Chen Liguo Zhou Jianhua Yuan Jing Xu Jing Shan Yan Xu Qingyun Xiong Tingting | 2016 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2: | 7 |
| 3 | Characterization of 500 Chinese patients with cervical esophageal cancer by clinicopathological and treatment outcomes显示文摘Objective: There are no comprehensive studies on survival outcomes and optimal treatment protocols for cervical esophageal cancer(CEC), due to its rare clinical prevalence. Our objective was to determine the relationship between pathological characteristics, treatment protocols, and survival outcomes in Chinese CEC patients.Methods: A total of 500 Chinese CEC patients were selected from our 500,000 esophageal and gastric cardia carcinoma database(1973–2018). There were two main groups: patients treated with surgery, and patients receiving non-surgical treatments(radiotherapy, radiochemotherapy, and chemotherapy). The Chi-square test and Kaplan–Meier method were used to compare the continuous variables and survival.Results: Among the 500 CEC patients, 278(55.6%) were male, and the median age was 60.9 ± 9.4 years. A total of 496 patients(99.2%) were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma. In 171(34.2%) patients who received surgery, 22(12.9%) had undergone laryngectomy. In 322(64.4%) patients who received non-surgical treatments, 245(76.1%) received radiotherapy. Stratified survival analysis showed that only T stage was related with survival outcomes for CEC patients in the surgical group, and the outcomes between laryngectomy and non-laryngectomy patients were similar. It was noteworthy that the 5-year survival rate was similar in CEC patients among the different groups treated with surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, or radiochemotherapy(P = 0.244). Conclusions: The CEC patients had similar survival outcomes after curative esophagectomy and radiotherapy, including those with or without total laryngectomy. | 4 | Distributed sensor fault diagnosis for a formation system with unknown constant time delays显示文摘In this paper, a distributed velocity sensor fault diagnosis scheme is presented for a formation of a second-order multi-agent system with unknown constant communication time delays. An existing distributed proportion-derivation(DPD) formation control law is adopted and a delay-independent condition is proposed to guarantee the asymptotical formation stability of the formation system based on the Nyquist stability criterion. Then a distributed fault diagnosis scheme is developed. In each agent, a distributed fault detection residual generator(DFDRG) and a bank of distributed fault isolation residual generators(DFIRGs) are designed based on the closed-loop model of the whole system. Each DFIRG is built up on the basis of a reduced-order unknown input observer(UIO) which is robust to the fault of one neighboring agent. According to the robust relationship between DFIRGs and faults, distributed fault isolation can be achieved. Conditions are presented to guarantee that each agent is able to diagnose faults of itself and its neighbors despite the disturbance of time delays. | 6 | Design of Eco-friendly Ultra-high Performance Concrete with Supplementary Cementitious Materials and Coarse Aggregate显示文摘Aiming to investigate the mix design of eco-friendly UHPC with supplementary cementitious materials and coarser aggregates, we comprehensively studied the workability, microstructure, porosity, compressive strength, flexural strength, and Young’s modulus of UHPC. Relationship between compressive strength and Young’s modulus was obtained eventually. It is found that the compressive strength, flexural strength, and Young’s modulus of UHPC increase by 19.01%, 10.81%, and 5.99%, respectively, when 40 wt% cement is replaced with supplementary cementitious materials. RTM is based on two-way wave equation,so it can avoid the limits of angle in traditional one-way wave equation migration,image reverse branch,prism waves and multi-reflected wave precisely and obtain accurate dynamic information. However,the huge demands for storage and computation as well as low frequency noises restrict its wide application. The normalized cross-correlation imaging conditions based on wave field decomposition are derived from traditional cross-correlation imaging condition,and it can eliminate the low-frequency noises effectively and improve the imaging resolution. The practical procedure includes separating source and receiver wave field into one-way components respectively,and conducting cross-correlation imaging condition to the post-separated wave field. | 10 | A biobased flame retardant towards improvement of flame retardancy and mechanical property of ethylene vinyl acetate显示文摘A new biobased flame retardant(MHPA)with remarkable compatibility was synthesized via a facile and low-cost neutralization reaction of magnesium hydroxide(MH)and phytic acid(PA).By blending the prepared MHPA into ethylene vinyl acetate(EVA),the fire retardancy,smoke suppression and mechanical properties of the composites were significantly improved.When 50 wt%of MH was added into EVA matrix,the value of limiting oxygen index(LOI)reached 26.1%.Whereas,when 10 wt%MH in the EVA composites(with initial 50 wt%MH)was replaced by MHPA,the resulted EVA composites had a LOI value of 30.8%,indicating high efficiency of addition of MHPA to improve flame retardancy.Moreover,the heat release rate(HRR)and total smoke production(TSP)of the EVA composites reduced by 54.4%and 27.6%,respectively,suggesting that incorporation of MHPA could effectively hinder rapid degradation of EVA composites during burning process.The fire-retardant mechanism may reside in that the MHPA combined with MH can present the excellent carbonization and expansion effects.This study illustrates that the biobased MHPA has a broad application prospect to develop flame-retardant EVA composites. | Siyi Xu Yue Han Cheng Zhou Jianxi Li Liguo Shen Hongjun Lin | 2023 | Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,1: | 1 |
| 11 | Engineering hollow core-shell hetero-structure box to induce interfacial charge modulation for promoting bidirectional sulfur conversion in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Severe polysulfide shuttling and sluggish sulfur redox kinetics significantly decrease sulfur utilization and cycling stability in lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs).Herein,we develop a hollow CoO/CoP-Box core-shell heterostructure as a model and multifunctional catalyst modified on separators to induce interfacial charge modulation and expose more active sites for promoting the adsorption and catalytic conversion ability of sulfur species.Theoretical and experimental findings verify that the in-situ formed core-shell hetero-interface induces the formation of P-Co-O binding and charge redistribution to activate surface O active sites for binding lithium polysulfides(LiPSs)via strong Li-O bonding,thus strongly adsorbing with Li PSs.Meanwhile,the strong Li-O bonding weakens the competing Li-S bonding in LiPSs or Li2S adsorbed on CoO/CoP-Box surface,plus the hollow heterostructure provides abundant active sites and fast electron/Li+transfer,so reducing Li2S nucleation/dissolution activation energy.As expected,LSBs with CoO/CoP-Box modified separator and traditional sulfur/carbon black cathode display a large initial capacity of 1240 mA h g^(-1)and a long cycling stability with 300 cycles(~60.1%capacity retention)at 0.5C.Impressively,the thick sulfur cathode(sulfur loading:5.2 mg cm^(-2))displays a high initial areal capacity of 6.9 mA h cm^(-2).This work verifies a deep mechanism understanding and an effective strategy to induce interfacial charge modulation and enhance active sites for designing efficient dual-directional Li-S catalysts via engineering hollow core-shell hetero-structure. | Weiliang Zhou Xinying Wang Jiongwei Shan Liguo Yue Dongzhen Lu Li Chen Jiacheng Zhang Yunyong Li | 2023 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,5: | 1 |

| 13 | Enhancing THz fingerprint detection on the planar surface of an inverted dielectric metagrating显示文摘Terahertz(THz)molecular fingerprint sensing provides a powerful label-free tool for the detection of traceamount samples.Due to the weak light–matter interaction,various metallic or dielectric metasurfaces have been adopted to enhance fingerprint absorbance signals.However,they suffer from strong background damping or complicated sample coating on patterned surfaces.Here,we propose an inverted dielectric metagrating and enhance the broadband THz fingerprint detection of trace analytes on a planar sensing surface.Enhancement of the broadband signal originates from the effects of evanescent waves at the planar interface,which are excited by multiplexed quasi-bound states in the continuum(quasi-BICs).One can evenly boost the near-field intensities within the analytes by tuning the asymmetry parameter of quasi-BIC modes.The multiplexing mechanism of broadband detection is demonstrated by manipulating the incident angle of excitation waves and thickness of the waveguide layer.Compared to the conventional approach,the THz fingerprint peak value is dramatically elevated,and the largest peak enhancement time is 330.Our work gives a promising way to facilitate the metasensing of the THz fingerprint on a planar surface and will inspire universal THz spectral analysis for trace analytes with different physical states or morphologies. | XUEYING LIU WEI CHEN YONGJIE MA YINONG XIE JUN ZHOU LIGUO ZHU YADONG XU JINFENG ZHU | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,12: | 1 |
