3Trimethyltin-induced cochlear degeneration in rat显示文摘Trimethyltin(TMT) is an occupational and environmental health hazard behaving as a potent neurotoxin known to affect the central nervous system as well as the peripheral auditory system.However,the mechanisms underlying TMT-induced ototoxicity are poorly understood.To elucidate the effects of TMT on the cochlea,a single injection of 4 or 8 mg/kg TMT was administered intraperitoneally to adult rats.The compound action potential(CAP) threshold was used to assess the functional status of the cochlea and histological techniques were used to assess the condition of the hair cells and auditory nerve fibers.TMT at 4 mg/kg produced a temporary CAP threshold elevation of 25-60 dB that recovered by 28 d post-treatment.Although there was no hair cell loss with the 4 mg/kg dose,there was a noticeable loss of auditory nerve fibers particularly beneath the inner hair cells.TMT at 8 mg/kg produced a large permanent CAP threshold shift that was greatest at the high frequencies.The CAP threshold shift was associated with the loss of outer hair cells and inner hair cells in the basal,high-frequency region of the cochlea,considerable loss of auditory nerve fibers and a significant loss of spiral ganglion neurons in the basal turn.Spiral ganglion neurons showed evidence of soma shrinkage and nuclear condensation and fragmentation,morphological features of apoptotic cell death.TMT-induced damage was greatest in the high-frequency,basal region of the cochlea and the nerve fibers beneath the inner hair cells were the most vulnerable structures.Jintao Yu Dalian Ding Hong Sun Richard Salvi Jerome A.Roth 2016Journal of Otology2016,11,3:3
4Provenance of Lower Carboniferous Bauxite Deposits in Northern Guizhou,China:Constraints from Geochemistry and Detrital Zircon U-Pb Ages显示文摘The Lower Carboniferous Jiujialu Formation bauxite deposits of northern Guizhou Province,China,are a Kazakhstan subtype of karst bauxite deposits.The provenance of the Jiujialu Formation has long been debated,with uncertainty about the formation of the bauxite deposits.Here we report new geochemical data that indicate the affinity between the Lower-Middle Ordovician clastic rocks and argillaceous dolostones and the overlying Carboniferous bauxite deposits,all of which are characterized by high Al_(2)0_(3),K2_(O),and∑REE contents,flat post-Archean Australian shale(PAAS)-normalized REE patterns,and uniform immobile element ratios(TiO2/Al_(2)0_(3),Nb/TiO2,and Zr/TiO2).Their similar detrital zircon age distributions further indicate the link between the bauxite deposits and the clastic rocks and argillaceous dolostones.Zircon age spectra of clastic rocks of the Lower Silurian Hanchiatien Formation in northern Guizhou match those of the bauxite deposits,with a maximum age peak at-980 Ma and other secondary age peaks,suggesting these clastic rocks may represent the provenance of the bauxite deposits.The youngest detrital zircons(-445 Ma)occur only in the bauxite deposits and are probably sourced from K-bentonite beds of the Ordovician-Silurian tran-sition.Our analyses indicate that the source materials of the bauxite deposits in the Jiujialu Formation are of mixed provenance:Lower-Middle Ordovician aluminosilicate rocks and argillaceous dolostones of the underlying strata,and Lower Silurian clastic rocks and K-bentonite from adjacent areas.A comparison of Early Carboniferous bauxitic provenances in northern and central Guizhou indicates that paleotopography was the major factor controlling the provenance of these bauxite deposits.Guolin Xiong Wenchao Yu Yuansheng Du Shenfu Weng Dawei Pang Xusheng Deng Jintao Zhou 2021Journal of Earth Science2021,32,1:3

6Stable and highly efficient perovskite solar cells:Doping hydrophobic fluoride into hole transport material PTAA显示文摘Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have rapidly developed in the past few years,with a record efficiency exceeding 25%.However,the long-term stability of PSCs remains a challenge and limits their practical application.Many high-performance PSCs have an n-i-p device architecture employing 4-tert-butylpyridine(t-BP)and bis(trifluoromethane)sulfonimide lithium salt(Li-TFSI)as bi-dopants for the hole-transporting layer(HTL).However,the hygroscopicity of Li-TFSI and low boiling point of t-BP negatively impact the moisture stability of these PSC devices.Herein,we report the use of the fluorine-containing hydrophobic compound tris(pentafluorophenyl)phosphine(35FP)as a dopant for poly[bis(4-phenyl)(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)amine](PTAA).With better hydrophobicity and stability than undoped PTAA,a PSC device containing 35FP-doped PTAA demonstrated improved charge transport properties and reduced trap density,leading to a significant enhancement in performance.In addition,the long-term stability of a 35FP-doped PTAA PSC under air exposure without encapsulation was demonstrated,with 80%of the initial device efficiency maintained for 1,000 h.This work provides a new approach for the fabrication of efficient and stable PSCs to explore hydrophobic dopants as a substitute for hydrophilic Li-TFSI/t-BP.Chao Yu Buyue Zhang Chen Chen Jintao Wang Jian Zhang Ping Chen Chuannan Li Yu Duan 2022Nano Research2022,15,5:2
7Pattern of hair cell loss and delayed peripheral neuron degeneration in inner ear by a high-dose intratympanic gentamicin显示文摘To gain insights into the ototoxic effects of aminoglycoside antibiotics(AmAn) and delayed peripheral ganglion neuron death in the inner ear.experimental animal models were widely used with several different approaches including AmAn systemic injections,combination treatment of AmAn and diuretics,or local application of AmAn.In these approaches,systemic AmAn treatment alone usually causes incomplete damage to hair cells in the inner ear.Co-administration of diuretic and AmAn can completely destroy the cochlear hair cells,but it is impossible to damage the vestibular system.Only the approach of AmAn local application can selectively eliminate most sensory hair cells in the inner ear.Therefore,AmAn local application is more suitable for studies for complete hair cell destructions in cochlear and vestibular system and the following delayed peripheral ganglion neuron death.In current studies,guinea pigs were unilaterally treated with a high concentration of gentamicin(GM,40 nig/ml) through the tympanic membrane into the middle ear cavity.Auditory functions and vestibular functions were measured before and after GM treatment.The loss of hair cells and delayed degeneration of ganglion neurons in both cochlear and vestibular system were quantified 30 days or 60 days after treatment.The results showed that both auditory and vestibular functions were completely abolished after GM treatment.The sensory hair cells were totally missing in the cochlea,and severely destroyed in vestibular end-organs.The delayed spiral ganglion neuron death 60 days after the deafening procedure was over 50%.However,no obvious pathological changes were observed in vestibular ganglion neurons 60 days post-treatment.These results indicated that a high concentration of gentamycin delivered to the middle ear cavity can destroy most sensory hair cells in the inner ear that subsequently causes the delayed spiral ganglion neuron degeneration.This model might be useful for studies of hair cell regenerations,delayed degeneration of peripheral auditory neurons,and/or vestibular compensation.In addition,a potential problem of ABR recording for unilateral deafness and issues about vestibular compensation are also discussed.Jintao Yu Dalian Ding Fengjun Wang Haiyan Jiang Hong Sun Richard Salvi 2014Journal of Otology2014,9,3:2

16Sweat detection theory and fluid driven methods: A review显示文摘In recent years, analyses of sweat have become more popular since it doesn't require invasive sampling procedures. Although blood still remains the golden standards in clinical, analyses of other common body fluids,such as sweat, have become increasingly important. Because the compositions of sweat and blood are osmotically related, the content of certain metabolites in sweat can directly reflect the disease. Sweat detection can be used as an alternative to blood detection and allows continuous monitoring. Increased development of wearable sensors makes it possible for continuous sweat detection. Here, this paper gave a review about the sweat detection methods, such as fluorescence sensing, electrochemical sensing and colorimetric sensing. The advantages and disadvantages of each method and their developing trend in sweat detection were summarized. Then, for the problem of continuous sweat sampling, three methods(capillary force, hydrogel osmotic pump, evaporationdriven micropump) were introduced through different structures of microfluidic chip, and the level of sweat collection and transport achieved by related research was demonstrated.
