| 3 | Microstructure and Tribological Behavior of a TiO_2/hBN Composite Ceramic Coating Formed via Micro-arc Oxidation of Ti–6Al–4V Alloy显示文摘A composite coating containing hexagonal boron nitride(hBN) particles and titanium oxide(TiO_2) was formed on the surface of Ti–6Al–4V alloy via micro-arc oxidation(MAO). The effect of quantity of the hBN-particles added into electrolyte on microstructure, composition, and wear behavior of the resulting composite coatings was investigated. Microstructure, phase composition, and tribological behavior of the resulting MAO coatings were evaluated via scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and ball-on-disc abrasive tests. The results reveal that the TiO_2/hBN composite coating consisting of rutile TiO_2, anatase TiO_2, and an hBN phase was less porous than particle-free coating. Furthermore, the presence of hBN particles in the MAO coating produced an improved anti-friction property. The composite coating produced in the electrolyte containing 2 g/L of hBN particles exhibited the best wear resistance.The outer loose layer of the MAO coatings was removed by a mechanical polishing process, which led to a significant improvement in the wear resistance and anti-friction properties of the MAO coatings and highlighted an essential lubricating role of hBN particles in the composite coatings. | 5 | Determination of Forchlorfenuron Dissipation and Residue in Cucumbers and Red Soil显示文摘To assess the risks of forchlorfenuron after application, a residue analysis method for ferchlorfenuron in cucumbers and the red soil of Southern China was established, and the dissipation behavior and residue characteristics of forchlorfenuron were studied under field conditions. The field trials, including dissipation and residue experiments, were conducted in Hunan, Yunnan and Hainan Provinces. Forchlorfenuron was applied at 32 a.i.g ha-1 rate for the dissipation study and both 21 and 32 a.i.g ha-1 for the residue study. Representative cucumbers and soil samples were collected at predetermined intervals for HPLC for UV-detector analysis. The average recoveries of the method were 80.8%-92.0% with coefficients variation (CV) between 0.4% and 11.8%. The detection limit of forchlorfenuron in cucumbers and soil samples was 0.003 mg · kg-1 and the minimum detectable amount was 3.0×10-10 g. The half life of forchlorfenuron in cucumbers in the three provinces changed as: Yunnan (5.50 days), Hunan (5.88 days), and Hainan (6.53 days) and in the soil was observed: Hainan (6.54 days), Hunan (7.64 days), and Yunnan (8.39 days). The maximum terminal residue in cucumbers at 32 a.i.g ha-1 rate after 5 days was 0.009 mg · kg-1 (Yunnan) followed by 0.0085 mg · kg-1 (Hainan) and 0.0082 mg · kg-1 (Hunan) which was below MRL value of 0.01 mg · kg-1 established by the USA, EPA. | 7 | Surface modification of Ti-6Al-4V alloy by cathode assiting discharge setup and conventional plasma nitriding methods显示文摘In order to improve the wear resistance of titanium alloys,the potential of the plasma nitriding process with a cathode assiting discharge setup was examined.Ti6Al4V alloy was nitrided by the cathode assiting discharge nitriding(CAN) and conventional DC plasma nitriding(CPN) methods,respectively.The micro-topography,phase composition and cross-sectional microhardness distribution of two nitriding layers were studied comparatively.The sliding wear resistance of the nitriding layers was examined by a ball-on-disk test against Si3N4 balls.The results indicated that the surface roughness Ra of the CAN layer was about 1 order less than that of the CPN layer.In addition,the CAN surfaces possessed significantly greater wear resistance than the CPN layer at higher loads,and increased the wear resistance of Ti6Al4V alloy by about 2 orders due to the higher loading bearing ability,higher rate of TiN phase,greater surface microhardness and bigger microhardness improving depth.This is because the double glow discharge effect in CAN strengthened the density of the active nitrogen atoms and the nitriding efficiency.Moreover,the ion bombardment effect on the surface of the nitriding titanium alloy was reduced obviously. | TANG JinGang LIU DaoXin TANG ChangBin ZHANG XiaoHua | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,8: | 8 |
| 8 | Finite Element Method Analysis of the Stress for Line Pipe with Corrode Groove During Outdoor Storage显示文摘The basic principle of corrode groove on outside of steel pipe during storage was analyzed in this paper, namely the water film on the contacted surface of steel pipe, which gathered from humidity in the air, rain or gel, and the suspended particles in air, and the corrosive composition, such as SO2, CO2, O2 and NaCl, in addition to the inhomogeneity of the organization and composition, which lead to the corrosion cell reaction, so that cause the corrosion initial from the contact surface of the between steel pipes, so as to form the corrosion groove. At the same time, the corrosion groove with depth of 0.125t (t pipe wall thickness) on the pipe of Φ1016 mm × 21 mm X70 API SPEC 5L was simulated using the FEM (finite element method), and the stress and strain distribution of the defect area near corrosion groove were solved at the inner pressure of 12 MPa, 10 MPa, 8 MPa, 6 MPa, 4 MPa and 2 MPa, respectively, which showed that no matter the pressure values were, the maximum stress and strain were lied at the bottom of corrosion defects groove and were in good linear relationship with the internal pressure increasing from 2 MPa to 6 MPa. When the internal pres- sures were greater than 6 MPa, they felled into the nonlinear model and to be yielded or even to be destroyed. In addition, the residual strength and the limit operation pressure of the corrode pipe with the defects groove of 0.125t were calculated or simulated according to the theoretical calculation, the finite element method based on the stress, the finite element method based on strain, DNV-RP-F101, ASME B31G and experimental methods respectively. The results showed that the residual strength and the limit operation pressure of the defective parts solved by the finite element method based on stress were 424 MPa, and 15.34 MPa, respectively, which was very close to that of experimental method, the residual strength was 410 MPa and the limit operation pressure 14.78 MPa. | 9 | Improving fatigue performance of Ti-6Al-4V alloy via ultrasonic surface rolling process显示文摘The effect of a gradient nanostructured(GNS) surface layer obtained by ultrasonic surface rolling process(USRP) on the fatigue behavior of Ti-6Al-4V alloy has been studied in this paper. Microstructure, surface topography, surface roughness and residual stress measurements were performed to characterize the surface under different conditions. Rotating bending fatigue tests were carried out to evaluate the fatigue behavior of different treatments. The results present a remarkable fatigue performance enhancement for the Ti-6Al-4V alloy with a GNS surface layer obtained by application of USRP with respect to the untreated condition, notwithstanding its considerable surface roughness due to severe ultrasonic impacts and extrusions. Mechanical surface polishing treatment further enhances the beneficial effects of USRP on the fatigue performance. The significantly improved fatigue performance can mainly be ascribed to the compressive residual stress. | 10 | Influence of surface coating on Ti811 alloy resistance to fretting fatigue at elevated temperature显示文摘An extensive study of the composition distribution, bonding strength, hardness, and wear resistance of a 0Cr18Ni9 film deposited on a Ti811 titanium alloy surface by ion beam enhanced deposition (IBED) is presented. Shot peening was introduced to post-treat the modified surface to synergistically improve the fretting fatigue resistance of the Ti811 alloy at 350°C. The results indicate that the 0Cr18Ni9 film with high density, small grain size, low void radio, and high bonding strength can be prepared using IBED. As a result, the hardness, wear resistance, and fretting fatigue resistance of the Ti811 alloy are increased to a remarkable extent. Compared with shot peening treatment or IBED 0Cr18Ni9 film alone, the Ti811 titanium alloy with an IBED 0Cr18Ni9 film combined with shot peening shows a higher fretting fatigue resistance at 350°C. | 12 | Contribution of ultrasonic surface rolling process to the fatigue properties of TB8 alloy with body-centered cubic structure显示文摘The effect of ultrasonic surface rolling process(USRP) as a severe plastic deformation technology was investigated on the evolution of microstructure, residual stress and surface morphology of TB8 alloys with body-centered cubic structure. Stress-controlled rotating-bending fatigue tests indicated increased fatigue strength in USRP samples prepared using different number of passes compared to the base material, which was attributed to the presence of gradient structure surface layers. Five subsequent USRP passes resulted in the highest fatigue strength, due to the optimal surface properties including higher extent of grain refinement, larger compressive residual stresses, 'smoother' surface morphology and increased micro-hardness. However, the effect of USRP technology on improving fatigue strength of TB8 alloy was not significant in comparison with that of other titanium alloys(for example, Ti6 Al4 V), which was attributed to the notable surface residual stresses relaxation revealed from measurements on postfatigued USRP samples. Electron backscatter diffraction analysis confirmed that fatigue crack initiation occurred in the larger grains on the surface with high Schmid factor. Small cracks were found to propagate into the core material in a mixed transgranular and intergranular mode. | 14 | Effects of pretreatment and HVOF sprayed cermet coating on fatigue properties of TC21 titanium alloy显示文摘The effects of grit blasting (GB),shot peening (SP) pretreatment and high velocity oxygen fuel(HVOF) sprayed WC-17Co cermet coating on the fatigue properties of the novel ultra-high strength TC21 titanium alloy were investigated with a rotating bending fatigue test machine.The basic properties and surface integrity of the coating were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD),surface roughness meter,microscopic hardness tester,scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray stress test instruments.The results showed that the residual compressive stress could be introduced into the surface of TC21 alloy by GB and SP pretreatment,and that HVOF sprayed WC-17Co coating was compactly bonded with TC21 alloy substrate and it significantly improved the surface hardness of the substrate.However,there was a certain residual tensile stress in the sublayer of the coating.SP could significantly increase fatigue resistance of TC21 alloy due to the surface residual compressive stress.There was no significant effect on fatigue resistance by GB treatment due to the offset between the influence of surface residual compressive stress and the surface notch effect.The fatigue resistance of TC21 alloy was significantly reduced by HVOF WC-17Co coating prepared with GB pretreatment.This could be attributed to the relaxation of surface residual compressive stress during the HVOF heating process,pore defects and residual tensile stress distribution in the WC-17Co coating with low toughness,and the surface notch induced by GB.The fatigue resistance of TC21 alloy was slightly reduced by HVOF WC-17Co coating prepared with SP pretreatment.This was attributed to the offset between the advantage effect by SP and disadvantageous effect of WC-17Co coating and high temperature factor during the HVOF process. | DU DongXing LIU DaoXin MENG BaoLi ZHANG XiaoHua | 2013 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2013,56,4: | 4 |

The present quadplexer consists of four cascaded filters based on multimode waveguide grating(MWG), which are composed of a two-mode(de)multiplexer and an MWG. For the fabricated quadplexer on silicon, all four wavelength channels have flat-top responses with low excess losses of <0.5 dB as well as the desired bandwidths, which are about 16, 38, 19, and 6 nm, respectively. The cross-talk for both upstream channels and downstream channels is less than -24 dB. | 20 | Effects of temperature,slip amplitude,contact pressure on fretting fatigue behavior of Ti811 alloys at elevated temperatures显示文摘Effects of the temperature,slip amplitude,and contact pressure on fretting fatigue(FF) behavior of the Ti811 titanium alloy were investigated using a high frequency fatigue machine and a home-made high temperature apparatus.The fretting fatigue failure mechanism was studied by observing the fretting surface morphology features.The results show that the sensitivity to fretting fatigue is high at both 350 and 500 °C.The higher the temperature,the more sensitive to the fretting fatigue failure is.Creep is an important factor that influences the fretting fatigue failure process at elevated temperatures.The fretting fatigue life of the Ti811 alloy does not change in a monotonic way as the slip amplitude and contact pressure increase.This is owing to the fact that the slip amplitude affects the action of fatigue and wear in the fretting process,and the nominal contact pressure affects the distribution and concentration of the stress and the amplitude of fretting slip at the contact surface,and thus further influences the crack initiation probability and the driving force for propagation. | Xiaohua ZHANG Daoxin LIU | 2009 | Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2009,22,2: | 2 |
