| 3 | Integrated(de)multiplexer for orbital angular momentum fiber communication显示文摘The quickly increasing data transfer load requires an urgent revolution in current optical communication. Orbital angular momentum(OAM) multiplexing is a potential candidate with its ability to considerably enhance the capacity of communication. However, the lack of a compact, efficient, and integrated OAM(de)multiplexer prevents it from being widely applied. By attaching vortex gratings onto the facets of a few-mode fiber, we demonstrate an integrated fiber-based OAM(de)multiplexer. A vortex grating fabricated on the fiber facet enables the direct multiplexing of OAM states at one port and the demultiplexing of OAM states at the other port. The measured bit error rate of the carrier signal after propagating through a 5-km few-mode fiber confirms the validity and effectiveness of the proposed approach. | 6 | Mycorrhizal symbiosis modulates the rhizosphere microbiota to promote rhizobia–legume symbiosis显示文摘Plants establish symbioses with mutualistic fungi,such as arbuscular mycorrhizal(AM)fungi,and bacteria,such as rhizobia,to exchange key nutrients and thrive.Plants and symbionts have coevolved and represent vital components of terrestrial ecosystems.Plants employ an ancestral AM signaling pathway to establish intracellular symbioses,including the legume–rhizobia symbiosis,in their roots.Nevertheless,the relationship between the AM and rhizobial symbioses in native soil is poorly understood.Here,we examined how these distinct symbioses affect root-associated bacterial communities in Medicago truncatula by performing quantitative microbiota profiling(QMP)of 16S rRNA genes.We found that M.truncatula mutants that cannot establish AM or rhizobia symbiosis have an altered microbial load(quantitative abundance)in the rhizosphere and roots,and in particular that AM symbiosis is required to assemble a normal quantitative root-associated microbiota in native soil.Moreover,quantitative microbial co-abundance network analyses revealed that AM symbiosis affects Rhizobiales hubs among plant microbiota and benefits the plant holobiont.Through QMP of rhizobial rpoB and AM fungal SSU rRNA genes,we revealed a new layer of interaction whereby AM symbiosis promotes rhizobia accumulation in the rhizosphere of M.truncatula.We further showed that AM symbiosis-conditioned microbial communities within the M.truncatula rhizosphere could promote nodulation in different legume plants in native soil.Given that the AM and rhizobial symbioses are critical for crop growth,our findings might inform strategies to improve agricultural management.Moreover,our work sheds light on the co-evolution of these intracellular symbioses during plant adaptation to native soil conditions. | Xiaolin Wang Huan Feng Yayu Wang Mingxing Wang Xingguang Xie Huizhong Chang Like Wang Jicheng Qu Kai Sun Wei He Chunyan Wang Chuanchao Dai Zhaohui Chu Changfu Tian Nan Yu Xuebin Zhang Huan Liu Ertao Wang | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,3: | 6 |

| 9 | Oxidative damage of primary cultured hippocampal neurons Does androgen have an antagonistic effect?显示文摘BACKGROUND: Evidence illustrates that androgen has a neuroprotective role.However,whether androgen also has the protective effect on hippocampal neurons during free radical mediated injury remains unclear.OBJECTIVE: To investigate the neuroprotective effect of androgen on hippocampal neurons during free radical damage.DESIGN,TIME AND SETTING: A controlled in vitro experiment was performed at the Department of Human Anatomy,Cell Culture Lab,and Neuroendocrinology Lab,Basic Medical School,Hebei Medical University from February to June 2009.MATERIALS: Testosterone was provided by Tianjin Jinyao Amino Acid Company,China.METHODS: Primary cultured neurons from 24 Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned into four groups: control,H2O2,testosterone,and testosterone (pre-added) plus H2O2 groups.MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The positive cell ratio of microtubule associated protein-II and neuron specific enolase was determined by immunocytochemistry.Neuronal morphology was observed by hematoxylin-eosin staining and Nissl staining.Cell vitality and viability were determined using an inverted phase contrast microscope.The content of nitric oxide synthase,malondialdehyde,and superoxide dismutase were measured with a spectrophotometer.RESULTS: As compared with the control group,cell vitality and viability,and superoxide dismutase level were significantly decreased in the H2O2 group (P < 0.05),while nitric oxide synthase and malondialdehyde levels were significantly increased (P < 0.05).Neuronal vitality and viability as well as superoxide dismutase level in the testosterone plus H2O2 group were significantly greater than in the H2O2 group (P < 0.05),and nitric oxide synthase and malondialdehyde levels were significantly less than in the H2O2 group (P < 0.05).CONCLUSION: Androgen partially reversed H2O2-induced neuronal damage and protected neurons. | Zhaohui Li Zhiping Cai Huixian Cui Jinsong Zhu Sha Li Guosheng Xie Lei Xue | 2010 | Neural Regeneration Research2010,5,5: | 4 |
| 10 | A Data and Knowledge Collaboration Strategy for Decision-Making on the Amount of Aluminum Fluoride Addition Based on Augmented Fuzzy Cognitive Maps显示文摘In the aluminum reduction process, aluminum uoride (AlF3) is added to lower the liquidus temperature of the electrolyte and increase the electrolytic ef ciency. Making the decision on the amount of AlF3 addi- tion (referred to in this work as MDAAA) is a complex and knowledge-based task that must take into con- sideration a variety of interrelated functions;in practice, this decision-making step is performed manually. Due to technician subjectivity and the complexity of the aluminum reduction cell, it is dif cult to guarantee the accuracy of MDAAA based on knowledge-driven or data-driven methods alone. Existing strategies for MDAAA have dif culty covering these complex causalities. In this work, a data and knowl- edge collaboration strategy for MDAAA based on augmented fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs) is proposed. In the proposed strategy, the fuzzy rules are extracted by extended fuzzy k-means (EFKM) and fuzzy deci- sion trees, which are used to amend the initial structure provided by experts. The state transition algo- rithm (STA) is introduced to detect weight matrices that lead the FCMs to desired steady states. This study then experimentally compares the proposed strategy with some existing research. The results of the comparison show that the speed of FCMs convergence into a stable region based on the STA using the proposed strategy is faster than when using the differential Hebbian learning (DHL), particle swarm optimization (PSO), or genetic algorithm (GA) strategies. In addition, the accuracy of MDAAA based on the proposed method is better than those based on other methods. | 11 | Isogeometric topology optimization based on energy penalization for symmetric structure显示文摘We present an energy penalization method for isogeometric topology optimization using moving morphable components(ITO–MMC),propose an ITO–MMC with an additional bilateral or periodic symmetric constraint for symmetric structures,and then extend the proposed energy penalization method to an ITO–MMC with a symmetric constraint.The energy penalization method can solve the problems of numerical instability and convergence for the ITO–MMC and the ITO–MMC subjected to the structural symmetric constraint with asymmetric loads.Topology optimization problems of asymmetric,bilateral symmetric,and periodic symmetric structures are discussed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed energy penalization approach.Compared with the conventional ITO–MMC,the energy penalization method for the ITO–MMC can improve the convergence rate from 18.6%to 44.5%for the optimization of the asymmetric structure.For the ITO–MMC under a bilateral symmetric constraint,the proposed method can reduce the objective value by 5.6%and obtain a final optimized topology that has a clear boundary with decreased iterations.For the ITO–MMC under a periodic symmetric constraint,the proposed energy penalization method can dramatically reduce the number of iterations and obtain a speedup of more than 2. | Xianda XIE Shuting WANG Ming YE Zhaohui XIA Wei ZHAO Ning JIANG Manman XU | 2020 | Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering2020,15,1: | 3 |
