1Humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants elicited by inactivated and RBD-subunit vaccines显示文摘SARS-CoV-2 variants could induce immune escape by mutations on the receptor-binding domain(RBD)and N-terminal domain(NTD).Here we report the humoral immune response to circulating SARS-CoV-2 variants,such as 501Y.V2(B.1.351),of the plasma and neutralizing antibodies(NAbs)elicited by CoronaVac(inactivated vaccine),ZF2001(RBD-subunit vaccine)and natural infection.Among 86 potent NAbs identified by high-throughput single-cell VDJ sequencing of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from vaccinees and convalescents,near half anti-RBD NAbs showed major neutralization reductions against the K417N/E484K/N501Y mutation combination,with E484K being the dominant cause.VH3-53/VH3-66 recurrent antibodies respond differently to RBD variants,and K417N compromises the majority of neutralizing activity through reduced polar contacts with complementarity determining regions.In contrast,the 242–244 deletion(242–244Δ)would abolish most neutralization activity of anti-NTD NAbs by interrupting the conformation of NTD antigenic supersite,indicating a much less diversity of anti-NTD NAbs than anti-RBD NAbs.Plasma of convalescents and CoronaVac vaccinees displayed comparable neutralization reductions against pseudo-and authentic 501Y.V2 variants,mainly caused by E484K/N501Y and 242–244Δ,with the effects being additive.Importantly,RBD-subunit vaccinees exhibit markedly higher tolerance to 501Y.V2 than convalescents,since the elicited anti-RBD NAbs display a high diversity and are unaffected by NTD mutations.Moreover,an extended gap between the third and second doses of ZF2001 leads to better neutralizing activity and tolerance to 501Y.V2 than the standard three-dose administration.Together,these results suggest that the deployment of RBD-vaccines,through a third-dose boost,may be ideal for combating SARS-CoV-2 variants when necessary,especially for those carrying mutations that disrupt the NTD supersite.Yunlong Cao Ayijiang Yisimayi Yali Bai Weijin Huang Xiaofeng Li Zhiying Zhang Tianjiao Yuan Ran An Jing Wang Tianhe Xiao Shuo Du Wenping Ma Liyang Song Yongzheng Li Xiang Li Weiliang Song Jiajing Wu Shuo Liu Xuemei Li Yonghong Zhang Bin Su Xianghua Guo Yangyang Wei Chuanping Gao Nana Zhang Yifei Zhang Yang Dou Xiaoyu Xu Rui Shi Bai Lu Ronghua Jin Yingmin Ma Chengfeng Qin Youchun Wang Yingmei Feng Junyu Xiao Xiaoliang Sunney Xie 2021Cell Research2021,31,7:12
2Removal of ammonium-N from ammonium-rich sewage using an immobilized Bacillus subtilis AYC bioreactor system显示文摘A self-design bioreactor system employing a fixed bed operation process with immobilized Bacillus subtilis AYC beads for NH 4 + -N removal from slightly polluted water was proposed. Polyvinyl alcohol and Na-alginate were used as a gel matrix to entrap Bacillus subtilis AYC to form the immobilized beads. The NH 4 + -N removal process was studied in a intermittent operation mode to examine the start-up and steady state behaviors of the immobilized AYC in the reactor. The results indicated that the reactor was in the start-up state during the first week. NH 4 + -N began to be steadily removal since the second week, and the nitrogen removal rate was between 84.61% and 96.19% when the hydraulic retention time (HRT) was 30 min. To apply Bacillus subtilis AYC to develop a practical nitrogen removal system and further understand its nitrogen removal ability, the bioreactor was continuously operated under different experimental perameters. The results showed that under the optimum conditions of an HRT of 20 min and DO of 3.77-5.80 mg/L, the NH 4 + -N removal rate reached 99.55%. The NH 4 + -N removal rate increased as the C/N ratio increased. However, a high C/N may cause a high residual carbon level in the effluent, therefore, the most suitable C/N ratio was 10. 3Field test of HTS receivers on CDMA demonstration cluster in China显示文摘This paper presents the field test of our first demonstration cluster with five base stations (BTS) on code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless communication in China, while each BTS was installed with a high temperature superconductor (HTS) receiver. The HTS receivers have the same centre frequency of 830 MHz, a bandwidth of 13 MHz, and a noise figure (NF) of 0.9 dB. After the conventional receivers in the BTSs were replaced by the HTS receivers, a consequent drive test was carried out. 5Field trial of an HTS filter system on a CDMA base station显示文摘This paper presents the field trial results of a high temperature superconductor filter system (HTSFS) in a code division multiple access (CDMA) mobile communication base station (BTS) in Tangshan, China. The center frequency of the HTSFS is 830 MHz with 1.4% fractional bandwidth. The noise figure (NF) of the HTSFS, including connectors and cables, is 0.8 dB. The field trial results show that after the HTSFS was installed in the receiver front-end of a CDMA base station, the transmitting power of handset was decreased by 3.1 dB on average. 6Effect of interaction between different CeO_(2)plane and platinum nanoparticles on catalytic activity of Pt/CeO_(2)in toluene oxidation显示文摘The plane exposure of support vitally affects the catalytic performance of the catalyst.In this work,CeO_(2)nanorods((110)plane exposure),nano-octahedrons((111)plane exposure)and nano-cubes((100)plane exposure)were prepared as the supports of Pt/CeO_(2)samples to investigate the effect of CeO_(2)plane exposure on total toluene oxidation.Characterizations reveal that the(110)plane of CeO_(2)is more helpful to the dispersion of Pt species,followed by(111)face.The improved dispersion of Pt species can enhance the metal-supports interaction,which promotes the electron transfer of CeO_(2)carrier to Pt nanoparticles and the adsorption-activation of O_(2),thereby facilitating the total oxidation of toluene via the Langmuir-Hinshelwood(L-H)mechanism.Therefore,Pt/CeO_(2)-r(nanorods)sample expresses excellent catalytic performance of toluene oxidation.Finally,the procedure of toluene total oxidation was studied by in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform(DRIFT)spectroscopy.We expect that this work can contribute to the development of an effective sample for the decomposition of volatile organic compounds(VOCs).Shengsheng Chang Yong jia Yiqing Zeng Fuping Qian Lina Guo Shenghua Wu Jinli Lu Yunlong Han 2022Journal of Rare Earths2022,40,11:6

8Influences of drip and flood irrigation on soil carbon dioxide emission and soil carbon sequestration of maize cropland in the North China Plain显示文摘The need is pressing to investigate soil CO_2(carbon dioxide) emissions and soil organic carbon dynamics under water-saving irrigation practices in agricultural systems for exploring the potentials of soil carbon sequestration. A field experiment was conducted to compare the influences of drip irrigation(DI) and flood irrigation(FI) on soil organic carbon dynamics and the spatial and temporal variations in CO_2 emissions during the summer maize growing season in the North China Plain using the static closed chamber method. The mean CO_2 efflux over the growing season was larger under DI than that under FI. The cumulative CO_2 emissions at the field scale were 1959.10 and 1759.12 g/m^2 under DI and FI, respectively. The cumulative CO_2 emission on plant rows(OR) was larger than that between plant rows(BR) under FI, and the cumulative CO2 emission on the irrigation pipes(OP) was larger than that between irrigation pipes(BP) under DI. The cumulative CO_2 emissions of OP, BP and bare area(BA) under DI were larger than those of OR, BR and BA under FI, respectively. Additionally, DI promoted root respiration more effectively than FI did. The average proportion of root respiration contributing to the soil CO_2 emissions of OP under DI was larger than that of OR under FI. A general conclusion drawn from this study is that soil CO_2 emission was significantly influenced by the soil water content, soil temperature and air temperature under both DI and FI. Larger concentrations of dissolved organic carbon(DOC), microbial biomass carbon(MBC) and total organic carbon(TOC) were observed under FI than those under DI. The observed high concentrations(DOC, MBC, and TOC) under FI might be resulted from the irrigation-associated soil saturation that in turn inhibited microbial activity and lowered decomposition rate of soil organic matter. However, DI increased the soil organic matter quality(the ratio of MBC to TOC) at the depth of 10–20 cm compared with FI. 9Treatment of malignant glioma using hyperthermia显示文摘Thirty pathologically diagnosed patients with grade III–IV primary or recurrent malignant glioma(tumor diameter 3–7 cm)were randomly divided into two groups.The control group underwent conventional radiotherapy and chemotherapy.In the hyperthermia group,primary cases received hyperthermia treatment,and patients with recurrent tumors were treated with hyperthermia in combination with radiotherapy and chemotherapy.Hyperthermia treatment was administered using a13.56-MHz radio frequency hyperthermia device.Electrodes were inserted into the tumor with the aid of a CT-guided stereotactic apparatus and heat was applied for 1 hour.During 3 months after hyperthermia,patients were evaluated with head CT or MRI every month.Gliomas in the hyperthermia group exhibited growth retardation or growth termination.Necrosis was evident in 80%of the heated tumor tissue and there was a decrease in tumor diameter.Our findings indicate that radio frequency hyperthermia has a beneficial effect in the treatment of malignant glioma.Jiahang Sun Mian Guo Hengyuan Pang Jingtao Qi Jinwei Zhang Yunlong Ge 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,29:5
10Effects and mechanism of freeze-thawing cycles on the soil N2O fluxes in the temperate semi-arid steppe显示文摘High nitrous oxide(N2O) emissions during freeze-thawing period(FTP) have been observed in many different ecosystems. However, the knowledge about the dynamic of soil N_2O emissions and its main driving mechanism during the freeze-thawing processes in grassland ecosystem is still limited. An in-situ experiment was conducted during the FTP on the sites with 0 and 15% surplus of the average rainfall and two levels of N addition(0,10 g N/(m^2·year)) during growing season(marked as W0N0, W15N0, W0N10, W15N10, respectively) to explore the effects of water and N background on soil N_2O emissions during FTPs and the relationship between soil N_2O emissions and environmental factors. The results indicated that water and N treatments conducted during growing season did not show significant effect on the N_2O effluxes of FTP, but the soil mineral N contents of W0N10 treatment were significantly higher than those of W0N0, W15N0, W15N10treatments(p < 0.05). The soil PLFA concentrations of microbial groups monitored during 2015 spring freeze-thawing period(2015S-FTP) were lower than those during winter freeze-thawing period of 2014(2014W-FTP), while cumulative soil N_2O emissions of 2015S-FTP were higher than those of 2014W-FTP. 12Projections of changes in marine environment in coastal China seas over the 21^st century based on CMIP5 models显示文摘The increases of atmospheric carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases have caused fundamental changes to the physical and biogeochemical properties of the oceans,and it will continue to occur in the foreseeable future.Based on the outputs of nine Earth System Models from the fifth phase of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project(CMIP5),in this study,we provided a synoptic assessment of future changes in the sea surface temperature(SST),salinity,dissolved oxygen(DO),seawater pH,and marine net primary productivity(NPP)in the coastal China seas over the 21st century.The results show that the mid-high latitude areas of the coastal China seas(East China Seas(ECS),including the Bohai Sea,Yellow Sea,and East China Sea)will be simultaneously exposed to enhanced warming,deoxygenation,acidification,and decreasing NPP as a consequence of increasing greenhouse gas emissions.The magnitudes of the changes will increase as the greenhouse gas concentrations increase.Under the high emission scenario(Representative Concentration Pathway 8.5),the ECS will experience an SST increase of 3.24±1.23℃,a DO concentration decrease of 10.90±3.92μmol/L(decrease of 6.3%),a pH decline of 0.36±0.02,and a NPP reduction of-17.7±6.2 mg/(m2·d)(decrease of 12.9%)relative to the current levels(1980-2005)by the end of this century.The co-occurrence of these changes and their cascade effects are expected to induce considerable biological and ecological responses,thereby making the ECS among the most vulnerable ocean areas to future climate change.Despite high uncertainties,our results have important implications for regional marine assessments.TAN Hongjian CAI Rongshuo HUO Yunlong GUO Haixia 2020Journal of Oceanology and Limnology2020,38,6:4
13A thriving decade: rational design, green synthesis, and cutting-edge applications of isoindigo-based conjugated polymers in organic field-effect transistors显示文摘Recent advances in organic electronics of novel materials and optoelectronic devices spark great interest in the design and synthesis of high-performance polymer semiconductors. During the last decade, isoindigo(ⅡD) and its derivatives have sprung up as common electron-deficient building blocks and obtained extensive applications in organic field-effect transistors(OFETs).In this review, we first present the current status, basic principles, and general material design strategies for OFETs. Then,multiple ⅡD-type acceptors, mature synthetic routes to monomers, and typical ⅡDs-based conjugated polymers are summarized.We also introduce side-chain engineering and cutting-edge applications, like stretchable transistors, sensing, active-matrix driving, etc., of the classic copolymer poly(isoindigo-co-bithiophene). Green polymerization approaches towards conjugated polymers incorporating ⅡDs are subsequently discussed for efficient polymerization. Finally, we conclude this review and propose in-depth prospects with respect to material synthesis and device applications. 14Reprogramming of phytopathogen transcriptome by a non-bactericidal pesticide residue alleviates its virulence in rice显示文摘Bacteria equipped with virulence systems based on highly bioactive small molecules can circumvent their host's defense mechanisms.Pathogens employing this strategy are currently threatening global rice production.In the present study,variations in the virulence of the highly destructive Barkholderiaplantarii were observed in different rice-producing regions.The environment-linked variation was not attributable to any known host-related or external factors.Co-occurrence analyses indicated a connection between reduced virulence and 5-Amino-l,3,4-thiadiazole-2-thiol(ATT),a non-bactericidal organic compound.ATT,which accumulates in rice plants during metabolization of specific agrochemicals,was found to reduce virulence factor secretion by B.plantarii up to 88.8%and inhibit pathogen virulence by hijacking an upstream signaling cascade.Detailed assessment of the newly discovered virulence inhibitor resulted in mechanistic insights into positive effects of ATT accumulation in plant tissues.Mechanisms of virulence alleviation were deciphered by integrating high-throughput data,gene knockout mutants,and molecular interaction assays.TroK,a histidine protein kinase in a two-component system that regulates virulence factor secretion,is likely the molecular target antagonized by ATT.Our findings provide novel insights into virulence modulation in an important plant-pathogen system that relies on the host's metabolic activity and subsequent signaling interference.Haruna Matsumoto Yuan Qian Xiaoyan Fan Sunlu Chen Yanxia Nie Kun Qiao Dandan Xiang Xinzhong Zhang Meng Li Bo Guo Peilin Shen Qiangwei Wang Yunlong Yu Tomislav Cemava Mengcen Wang 2022Fundamental Research2022,2,2:2
15Ultrathin salt-free polymer-in-ceramic electrolyte for solid-state sodium batteries显示文摘The practical energy density of solid-state batteries remains limited,partly because of the lack of a general method to fabricate thin membranes for solid-state electrolytes with high ionic conductivity and low area-specific resistance(ASR).Herein,we use an ultrahigh concentration of a ceramic ion conductor(Na_(3)SbS_(4))to build an ionconduction“highway”,and a polymer(polyethylene oxide,2 wt%)as a flexible host to prepare a polymer-inceramic ion-conducting membrane of approximately 40μm.Without the use of any salt(e.g.,NaPF_(6)),the resulting membrane exhibits a threefold increase in electronic ASR and a twofold decrease in ionic ASR compared with a pure ceramic counterpart.The activation energy for sodium-ion transport is only 190 meV in the membrane,similar to that in pure ceramic,suggesting ion transport predominantly occurs through a percolated network of ion-conducting ceramic particles.The salt-free design also provides an opportunity to suppress dendritic metal electrodeposits,according to a recently refined chemomechanical model of metal deposition.Our work suggests that salt is not always necessary in composite solid-state electrolytes,which broadens the choice of polymers to allow the optimization of other desired attributes,such as mechanical strength,chemical/electrochemical stability,and cost.Bin Tang Yibo Zhao Zhiyi Wang Shiwei Chen Yifan Wu Yuming Tseng Lujiang Li Yunlong Guo Zhen Zhou Shou-Hang Bo 2021eScience2021,1,2:2
16Recent progress in stretchable organic field-effect transistors显示文摘Stretchable organic field-effect transistors (STOFETs) employing organic semiconductors as active layers are highly attractive ongoing from health monitoring to biological research owing to some favorable advantages over their inorganic counterpart, including light weight, low cost, solution processing, high flexibility and simple adjustment of functionalities through molecular design. Although the development of STOFETs with original electrical performances under large mechanical deformation remain rudimentary, major efforts have recently been devoted to the investigation on STOFETs, and remarkable advances in stretchable components and novel fabrication methods have been achieved. A detailed overview of the advantages, challenges and current achievements in STOFETs was given including stretchable electrodes, semiconductors, dielectrics and substrates. 17Energetic particles’fluxes and dose in the Radiation Gene Box measured by space radiation detector onboard SJ-10 satellite显示文摘Background To evaluate the hazard of space radiation posing to the tissues,it is important to obtain exact fluxes of different radiation particles.The Radiation Gene Box(RGB)onboard SJ-10 spacecraft was an instrument designed to investigate the effects of space environment on the mESCs and drosophila.To derive the dose received by the tissues inside the RGB,the Space Radiation Detector(SRD)was installed inside it.Purpose The SRD was designed to derive the fluxes of electron,proton,hellion and gamma rays around it.If the type of the particles,the energies,the fluxes and the conversion coefficients are known,the dose received by the tissues could be evaluated.Methods The SRDwas designed as a △E-E solid-state telescope.By measuring the energy deposited in the three subdetectors,the particles’type and their energies could be discriminated.The data of SRDwere divided into 15 bins by the types of particles and their energy ranges.Results The gamma ray flux was higher than any other particle flux inside the RGB,and the electron was the most intense charge particle,while the helium ion was the most harmful radiation to the cells inside the RGB.Conclusion The dose rate inside the Radiation Gene Box was much higher than in the ground,but the integral dose of 12 days inside the RGB was about 2.13 mSv.It seemed unlikely to have obvious biological effects on the tissues of mice and drosophila.Xingzhu Cui Yaqing Liu Wenxi Peng Jinzhou Wang Min Gao Dongya Guo Xiaohua Liang Ruirui Fan Huanyu Wang Yunlong Zhang Zhongjian Ma Mingyang Yan Hong Xiao Yuanda Jiang Haiying Hang 2018Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2018,2,2:2

20Leakage current characteristics and ageing assessment technology of roof arrester under ultra harmonics overvoltage显示文摘The large leakage current of the roof arrester caused by the high‐frequency resonant overvoltage on the high‐speed train occurs intermittently,which will cause the arrester to overheat locally.In this work,the overheating issue of the arrester under Ultra Harmonics Overvoltage is studied.Then,the relationship between the active power and the voltage(including amplitude and frequency)of the arrester is investigated,and the impact mechanism of the harmonic voltage on the overheating fault of the arrester is analysed based on experiments in this work.It is found that the total leakage current of the arrester is proportional to the amplitude and frequency of the applied voltage.The internal resistance of the arrester is independent of the amplitude of the voltage,but it will decrease with the increase of the frequency.The main reason that leads to thermal breakdown of the arrester valve under high‐frequency harmonic voltage is the heating power elevation of the arrester valve.The research study can provide theoretical basis and data support for the design,type selection and monitoring of the high‐speed train roof arrester.Jixing Sun Fan Ding Yunlong Lv Jiayi Ren Sibo Song Tiance Li Qingyun Zhi Changwang Guo 2022High Voltage2022,7,2:1
