| 1 | Regulation of the cellular uptake of nanopartides by the orientation of helical polypeptides显示文摘Controlling the cellular interactio n and internal izatio n of polymer-modified nan oparticles (NPs) is of central importa nee to the developme nt of promisi ng nano medici nes. Here, we describe the use of synthetic polypeptides for NP surface coati ng and regulati on of their cellular uptake behaviors by simply switching the conformation and anchoring orientation. Our results show that gold NPs (AuNPs) coated with a helical poly(Y-(2-(2-(2-methoxyethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)esteryl「glutamate)(L-P(EG3Glu)5o) from the C-terminus ((L-C)-AuNPs) exhibit greater zeta potential and more cellular uptake (2.0-5.5 fold higher) than those coated with the same polypeptide but anchored from the N-terminus ((L-N)-AuNPs), or from both the C- and N-terminus at a 1/1 molar ratio ((L-C/L-N)-AuNPs). A similar orientation-regulated cellular internalization pattern is observed in D-P(EG3Glu)50 but not the unstructured DL-P(EG3Glu)5o-rnodified AuNPs, suggesting an important and universal role of the helix-derived macrodipole in cellular uptake. Moreover, this orientation-governed internalization is successfully reproduced in P(EG3Glu)50-coated gold nano rods (AuNRs), and applied to the desig n of doxorubici reloaded polypeptide micelles. Simulation study offers time-resolved in sights regarding the NP-membrane in teracti ons and membrane remodeling. Thus, our study provides a delicate way of regulating the surface chemistry of NPs and the subsequent NP-cell interactions. | 2 | Resorption Efficiency of Four Cations in Different Tree Species in a Subtropical Common Garden显示文摘High rainfall in subtropical regions can leach cation elements from ecosystems,which may limit plant growth.Plants often develop efficient resorption patterns to recycle elements,but there is relatively little available information on this topic.In February 2012,a common garden was established in a subtropical forest by planting dominant trees from the area.Green and senescent leaves were sampled from 11 tree species.The concentrations of potassium(K),calcium(Ca),sodium(Na)and magnesium(Mg)were determined,and the resorption efficiencies were calculated.The results showed significant K,Na and Mg resorption in most of the investigated tree species,while Ca mainly displayed accumulation.Evergreen coniferous and evergreen broad-leaved trees(such as Cunninghamia lanceolata,Pinus massoniana,Cinnamomum camphora,and Michelia macclurei)exhibited relatively higher resorption efficiencies of K(39.0%-87.5%)and Na(18.3%-50.2%)than deciduous broad-leaved trees.Higher Mg resorption efficiencies(>50%)were detected in Liriodendron chinense,C.lanceolata and P.massoniana than in other trees.Overall,evergreen coniferous and evergreen broad-leaved trees could show higher cation resorption than deciduous broad-leaved trees.K and Mg resorption efficiencies and Ca accumulation decrease with increasing nutrient concentrations in green leaves.Our results emphasize that nutrient resorption patterns largely depend on elements and plant functions,which provides new insights into the nutrient use strategies of subtropical plants and a reference for the selection of suitable tree species in this region. | Yaoyi Zhang Xiangyin Ni Jing Yang Siyi Tan Shu Liao Dingyi Wang Kai Yue Fuzhong Wu | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Complete Genome Sequences of the SARS-CoV: the BJ Group (Isolates BJ01-BJ04)显示文摘Beijing has been one of the epicenters attacked most severely by the SARS-CoV (severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus) since the first patient was diagnosed in one of the city's hospitals. We now report complete genome sequences of the BJ Group, including four isolates (Isolates B J01, B J02, B J03,and B J04) of the SARS-CoV. It is remarkable that all members of the BJ Group share a common haplotype, consisting of seven loci that differentiate the group from other isolates published to date. Among 42 substitutions uniquely identifled from the BJ group, 32 are non-synonymous changes at the amino acid level.Rooted phylogenetic trees, proposed on the basis of haplotypes and other sequence variations of SARS-CoV isolates from Canada, USA, Singapore, and China, gave rise to different paradigms but positioned the BJ Group, together with the newly discovered GD01 (GD-Ins29) in the same clade, followed by the H-U Group (from Hong Kong to USA) and the H-T Group (from Hong Kong to Toronto), leaving the SP Group (Singapore) more distant. To manipulate Majorana fermions, superconducting materials should be deposited on the surfaces of topological insulators. In this study, highquality superconducting PdTe_2 films are deposited on the topological insulator Bi_2Te_3 surface using molecular beam epitaxy. The surface topography and electronic properties of PdTe_2/Bi_2Te_3 heterostructures are investigated via in situ scanning tunneling microscopy/spectroscopy. Under Te-rich conditions, the Pd atoms presumably form PdTe_2 film on Bi_2Te_3 surface rather than diffuse into Bi_2Te_3. The superconductivity of the PdTe_2/Bi_2Te_3 heterostructure is detected at a transition temperature of ~1.4 K using the two-coil mutual inductance technique.
