| 2 | A review of road extraction from remote sensing images显示文摘As a significant role for traffic management,city planning,road monitoring,GPS navigation and map updating,the technology of road extraction from a remote sensing(RS) image has been a hot research topic in recent years.In this paper,after analyzing different road features and road models,the road extraction methods were classified into the classification-based methods,knowledge-based methods,mathematical morphology,active contour model,and dynamic programming.Firstly,the road features,road model,existing difficulties and interference factors for road extraction were analyzed.Secondly,the principle of road extraction,the advantages and disadvantages of various methods and research achievements were briefly highlighted.Then,the comparisons of the different road extraction algorithms were performed,including road features,test samples and shortcomings.Finally,the research results in recent years were summarized emphatically.It is obvious that only using one kind of road features is hard to get an excellent extraction effect.Hence,in order to get good results,the road extraction should combine multiple methods according to the real applications.In the future,how to realize the complete road extraction from a RS image is still an essential but challenging and important research topic. | Weixing Wang Nan Yang Yi Zhang Fengping Wang Ting Cao Patrik Eklund | 2016 | Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2016,3,3: | 9 |
| 3 | Olivine-norite rock detected by the lunar rover Yutu-2 likely crystallized from the SPA-impact melt pool显示文摘Chang’E-4 landed in the South Pole-Aitken(SPA)basin,providing a unique chance to probe the composition of the lunar interior.Its landing site is located on ejecta strips in Von Karm´an crater that´possibly originate from the neighboring Finsen crater.A surface rock and the lunar regolith at 10 sites along the rover Yutu-2 track were measured by the onboard Visible and Near-Infrared Imaging Spectrometer in the first three lunar days of mission operations.In situ spectra of the regolith have peak band positions at 1 and 2μm,similar to the spectral data of Finsen ejecta from the Moon Mineralogy Mapper,which confirms that the regolith’s composition of the landing area is mostly similar to that of Finsen ejecta.The rock spectrum shows similar band peak positions,but stronger absorptions,suggesting relatively fresh exposure.The rock may consist of 38.1±5.4%low-Ca pyroxene,13.9±5.1%olivine and 48.0±3.1%plagioclase,referred to as olivine-norite.The plagioclase-abundant and olivine-poor modal composition of the rock is inconsistent with the origin of the mantle,but representative of the lunar lower crust.Alternatively,the rock crystallized from the impact-derived melt pool formed by the SPA-impact event via mixing the lunar crust and mantle materials.This scenario is consistent with fast-cooling thermal conditions of a shallow melt pool,indicated by the fine to medium-sized texture(<3 mm)of the rock and the SPA-impact melting model[Icarus 2012;220:730–43]. | Honglei Lin Zhiping He Wei Yang Yangting Lin Rui Xu Chi Zhang Meng-Hua Zhu Rui Chang Jinhai Zhang Chunlai Li Hongyu Lin Yang Liu Sheng Gou Yong Wei Sen Hu Changbin Xue Jianfeng Yang Jie Zhong Xiaohui Fu Weixing Wan Yongliao Zou | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,5: | 9 |
| 4 | Sediment pollution characteristics and in situ control in a deep drinking water reservoir显示文摘Sediment pollution characteristics, in situ sediment release potential, and in situ inhibition of sediment release were investigated in a drinking water reservoir. Results showed that organic carbon(OC), total nitrogen(TN), and total phosphorus(TP) in sediments increased from the reservoir mouth to the main reservoir. Fraction analysis indicated that nitrogen in ion exchangeable form and Na OH-extractable P(Fe/Al-P) accounted for 43% and 26% of TN and TP in sediments of the main reservoir. The Risk Assessment Code for metal elements showed that Fe and Mn posed high to very high risk. The results of the in situ reactor experiment in the main reservoir showed the same trends as those observed in the natural state of the reservoir in 2011 and 2012; the maximum concentrations of total OC, TN, TP, Fe,and Mn reached 4.42 mg/L, 3.33 mg/L, 0.22 mg/L, 2.56 mg/L, and 0.61 mg/L, respectively. An in situ sediment release inhibition technology, the water-lifting aerator, was utilized in the reservoir. | 7 | Destratification and oxygenation efficiency of a water-lifting aerator system in a deep reservoir:Implications for optimal operation显示文摘Thermal stratification is a common phenomenon in lakes and reservoirs and has a significant influence on water quality dynamics.Heihe Reservoir is a canyon-shaped reservoir in Shaanxi Province with strong thermal stratification.Therefore,eight water-lifting aerators(WLAs) were installed in this reservoir,which could overcome thermal stratification and increase oxygenation with gas flows between 20 and 50 m3/hr,and oxygenate the hypolimnion with gas flows less than 20 m3/hr.To examine the destratification efficiency of the WLA system,we used a threedimensional hydrodynamic module based on MIKE 3 to simulate the thermal structure of Heihe Reservoir and compared the simulations with measured data.Results showed that operation of the WLA system promoted water mixing and effectively oxygenated the hypolimnion.Through the established energy utilization assessment method,the energy utilization efficiency of the WLA system was between 5.36% and 7.30%,indicating the capability of the technique for destratification in such a large reservoir.When the surface water temperature dropped to the theoretical mixed water temperature calculated by the energy utilization assessment method,reducing gas flow could save energy.This would prevent anaerobic conditions from occurring in the bottom water and maintain good water quality in Heihe Reservoir. | Yang Li Tinglin Huang Xinlin Tan Zizhen Zhou Weixing Ma | 2018 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,11: | 3 |
| 8 | First results of optical meteor and meteor trail irregularity from simultaneous Sanya radar and video observations显示文摘Meteoroids entering the Earth's atmosphere can create meteor trail irregularity seriously disturbing the background ionosphere. Although numerous observations of meteor trail irregularities were performed with VHF/UHF coherent scatter radars in the past, no simultaneous radar and optical instruments were employed to investigate the characteristics of meteor trail irregularity and its corresponding meteoroid. By installing multiple video cameras near the Sanya VHF radar site, an observational campaign was conducted during the period from November 2016 to February 2017. A total of 242 optical meteors with simultaneous non-specular echoes backscattered from the plasma irregularities generated in the corresponding meteor trails were identified. A good agreement between the angular positions of non-specular echoes derived from the Sanya radar interferometer and those of optical meteors was found,validating that the radar system phase offsets have been properly calibrated. The results also verify the interferometry capability of Sanya radar for meteor trail irregularity observation. The non-specular echoes with simultaneous optical meteors were detected at magnetic aspect angles greater than ~78°. Based on the meteor visual magnitude estimated from the optical data, it was found that the radar nonspecular echoes corresponding to brighter meteors survived for longer duration. This could provide observational evidence for the significance of meteoroid mass on the duration of meteor trail irregularity. On the other hand, the simultaneous radar and video common-volume observations showed that there were some cases with optical meteors but without radar non-specular echoes. | 10 | Shaped-Beam Pattern Synthesis Through the Construction of Weighted Generalized Rayleigh Quotient显示文摘A novel shaped-beam pattern synthesis method of generating an arbitrary footprint pattern under an arbitrary array structure is proposed. The embedded element pattern information is included in the pattern model, and a new cost function composed of three optimization items which are sidelobe levels,mainlobe ripples and mainlobe gains is constructed through the model. During the optimization process,to further enhance the performance of the synthesized pattern, a weight matrix is designed and added to the optimization items, then the generalized Rayleigh quotient approximation method is used to obtain the final array element excitations. To illustrate the good performance of the provided method, several synthesis examples with different arrays and footprints are presented. | 13 | Hyper-spectral characteristics of rolled-leaf desert vegetation in the Hexi Corridor, China显示文摘Desert plants survive harsh environment using a variety of drought-resistant structural modifications and physio-ecological systems.Rolled-leaf plants roll up their leaves during periods of drought,making it difficult to distinguish between the external structures of various types of plants,it is therefore necessary to carry out spectral characteristics analysis for species identification of these rolled-leaf plants.Based on hyper-spectral data measured in the field,we analyzed the spectral characteristics of seven types of typical temperate zone rolled-leaf desert plants in the Hexi Corridor,China using a variety of mathematical transformation methods.The results show that:(1)during the vigorous growth period in July and August,the locations of the red valleys,green peaks,and three-edge parameters,namely,the red edge,the blue edge,and the yellow edge of well-developed rolled-leaf desert plants are essentially consistent with those of the majority of terrestrial vegetation types;(2)the absorption regions of liquid water,i.e.,1400-1500 and 1600-1700 nm,are the optimal bands for distinguishing various types of rolled-leaf desert plants;(3)in the leaf reflectance regions of 700-1250 nm,which is controlled by cellular structure,it is difficult to select the characteristic bands for differentiation rolled-leaf desert vegetation;and(4)after processing the spectral reflectance curves using a first-order differential,the envelope removal method,and the normalized differential ratio,we identify the other characteristic bands and parameters that can be used for identifying various types of temperate zone rolled-leaf desert plants,i.e.,the 510-560,650-700 and 1330-1380 nm regions,and the red edge amplitude.In general,the mathematical transformation methods in the study are effective tools to capture useful spectral information for species identification of rolled-leaf plants in the Hexi Corridor. | WEI Huaidong YANG Xuemei ZHANG Bo DING Feng ZHANG Weixing LIU Shizeng CHEN Fang | 2019 | Journal of Arid Land2019,11,3: | 1 |

| 19 | The novel peptide Nb PPI1 identified from Nicotiana benthamiana triggers immune responses and enhances resistance against Phytophthora pathogens显示文摘In plants, recognition of small secreted peptides, such as damage/danger-associated molecular patterns(DAMPs), regulates diverse processes,includingstressandimmune responses. Here, we identified an SGPS(Ser-Gly-Pro-Ser) motif-containing peptide, Nicotiana tabacum NtPROPPI, and its two homologs in Nicotiana benthamiana, NbPROPPI1 and NbPROPPI2. Phytophthora parasitica infection and salicylic acid(SA) treatment induced NbPROPPI1/2 expression. Moreover, SignalP predicted that the 89-amino acid NtPROPPI includes a 24-amino acid N-terminal signal peptide and NbPROPPI1/2-GFP fusion proteins were mainly localized to the periplasm. Transient expression of NbPROPPI1/2 inhibited P.parasiticacolonization,andNbPROPPI1/2 knockdown rendered plants more susceptible to P. parasitica. An eight-amino-acid segment in the NbPROPPI1 C-terminus was essential for its immune function and a synthetic 20-residue peptide, NbPPI1, derived from the C-terminus of NbPROPPI1 provoked significant immune responses in N. benthamiana. These responses led to enhanced accumulation of reactive oxygen species, activation of mitogen-activated protein kinases, and up-regulation of the defense genes Flg22-induced receptor-like kinase(FRK) and WRKY DNA-binding protein 33(WRKY33). The NbPPI1-induced defense responses require Brassinosteroid insensitive1-associated receptor kinase 1(BAK1).
