| 1 | Directly patterned substrate-free plasmonic “nanograter” structures with unusual Fano resonances显示文摘The application of three-dimensional(3D)plasmonic nanostructures as metamaterials(MMs),nano-antennas,and other devices faces challenges in producing metallic nanostructures with easily definable orientations,sophisticated shapes,and smooth surfaces that are operational in the optical regime and beyond.Here,we demonstrate that complex 3D nanostructures can be readily achieved with focused-ion-beam irradiation-induced folding and examine the optical characteristics of plasmonic“nanograter”structures that are composed of free-standing Au films.These 3D nanostructures exhibit interesting 3D hybridization in current flows and exhibit unusual and well-scalable Fano resonances at wavelengths ranging from 1.6 to 6.4 mm.Upon the introduction of liquids of various refractive indices to the structures,a strong dependence of the Fano resonance is observed,with spectral sensitivities of 1400 nm and 2040 nm per refractive index unit under figures of merit of 35.0 and 12.5,respectively,for low-order and high-order resonance in the near-infrared region.This work indicates the exciting,increasing relevance of similarly constructed 3D free-standing nanostructures in the research and development of photonics and MMs. | Ajuan Cui Zhe Liu Jiafang Li Tiehan H Shen Xiaoxiang Xia Zhiyuan Li Zhijie Gong Hongqiang Li Benli Wang Junjie Li Haifang Yang Wuxia Li Changzhi Gu | 2015 | Light(Science & Applications)2015,4,1: | 8 |

| 3 | The origin, diversification and adaptation of a major mangrove clade (Rhizophoreae) revealed by whole-genome sequencing显示文摘Mangroves invade some very marginal habitats for woody plants—at the interface between land and sea.Since mangroves anchor tropical coastal communities globally, their origin, diversification and adaptation are of scientific significance, particularly at a time of global climate change. In this study, a combination of single-molecule long reads and the more conventional short reads are generated from Rhizophora apiculata for the de novo assembly of its genome to a near chromosome level. The longest scaffold, N50 and N90 for the R. apiculata genome, are 13.3 Mb, 5.4 Mb and 1.0 Mb, respectively. Short reads for the genomes and transcriptomes of eight related species are also generated. We find that the ancestor of Rhizophoreae experienced a whole-genome duplication ~70 Myrs ago, which is followed rather quickly by colonization and species diversification. Mangroves exhibit pan-exome modifications of amino acid(AA) usage as well as unusual AA substitutions among closely related species. The usage and substitution of AAs, unique among plants surveyed, is correlated with the rapid evolution of proteins in mangroves. A small subset of these substitutions is associated with mangroves' highly specialized traits(vivipary and red bark) thought to be adaptive in the intertidal habitats. Despite the many adaptive features, mangroves are among the least genetically diverse plants, likely the result of continual habitat turnovers caused by repeated rises and falls of sea level in the geologically recent past. | 4 | A 23 GHz high-temperature superconducting microstrip filter for radio astronomy显示文摘This paper reports a 6-pole high-temperature superconducting (HTS) microstrip bandpass filter for radio astronomy applications. The filter has a center frequency of 23 GHz and a bandwidth the 2 GHz. We have made many efforts, such as adopting 0.25-mm-thick substrate, carefully designing the housing box and filter layout, to solve the problems in realizing a K-band planar filter. A special straight-line half-wavelength resonator (center-widen resonator) was also designed to reduce the insertion loss of the filter. The measured results showed a midband insertion loss of 0.11 dB with a ripple of 0.4 dB, and a return loss better than 11.5 dB. | 5 | Convergent adaptation of the genomes of woody plants at the land-sea interface显示文摘Sequencing multiple species that share the same ecological niche may be a new frontier for genomic studies.While such studies should shed light on molecular convergence,genomic-level analyses have been unsuccessful,due mainly to the absence of empirical controls.Woody plant species that colonized the global tropical coasts,collectively referred to as mangroves,are ideal for convergence studies.Here,we sequenced the genomes/transcriptomes of 16 species belonging in three major mangrove clades.To detect convergence in a large phylogeny,a CCS+model is implemented,extending the more limited CCS method(convergence at conservative sites).Using the empirical control for reference,the CCS+model reduces the noises drastically,thus permitting the identification of 73 convergent genes with Ptrue(probability of true convergence)>0.9.Products of the convergent genes tend to be on the plasma membrane associated with salinity tolerance.Importantly,convergence is more often manifested at a higher level than at amino-acid(AA)sites.Relative to>50 plant species,mangroves strongly prefer 4 AAs and avoid 5 others across the genome.AA substitutions between mangrove species strongly reflect these tendencies.In conclusion,the selection of taxa,the number of species and,in particular,the empirical control are all crucial for detecting genome-wide convergence.We believe this large study of mangroves is the first successful attempt at detecting genome-wide site convergence. | Ziwen He Shaohua Xu Zhang Zhang Wuxia Guo Haomin Lyu Cairong Zhong David EBoufford Norman CDuke The International Mangrove Consortium Suhua Shi | 2020 | National Science Review2020,7,6: | 3 |

| 7 | Particulate matter pollution in Kunshan High-Tech zone: Source apportionment with trace elements, plume evolution and its monitoring显示文摘Particulate matter(PM) in the Kunshan High-Tech zone is studied during a three-month campaign. PM and trace elements are measured by the online pollution monitoring, forecastwarning and source term retrieval system AS3. Hourly measured concentrations of PM_(10), PM_(2.5) and 16 trace elements in the PM_(2.5) section(Ca, Pb, Cu, Cl, V, Cr, Fe, Ti, Mn, Ni, Zn, Ga, As, Se, Sr, Ba)are focused. Source apportionment of trace elements by Positive Matrix Factorization modeling indicates that there are five major sources, including dust, industrial processing, traffic,combustion, and sea salt with contribution rate of 23.68%, 21.66%, 14.30%, 22.03%, and 6.89%,respectively. Prediction of plume dispersion from concrete plant and traffic emissions shows that PM_(10) pollution of concrete plant is three orders of magnitude more than that of the traffic. The influence range can extend to more than 3 km in 1 hr. Because the footprint of the industrial plumes is constantly moving according to the local meteorological conditions, the fixed monitoring sites scattered in a few hundred meters haven't captured the heaviest pollution plume at the local scale of a few km^2. As a more intensive monitoring network is not operationally possible, the use of online modeling gives accurate and quantitative information of plume location, which increases the spatial pollution monitoring capacity and improves the understanding of measurement data. | 8 | An L-band HTS duplexer with improved performance显示文摘An L-band HTS duplexer with improved performance for communication applications has been developed.This is an improved version of the duplexer previously developed by our group.The duplexer was composed of a T-junction and two channels.Each channel has a 10-pole quasi-elliptic function bandpass HTS filter with a bandwidth of 27 MHz,and center frequencies at 1200 MHz and 1260 MHz.To achieve higher performance,especially a good balance between selectivity and flat group delay,the two pairs of transmission zeros from the two filters were reassigned so that one pair is used for high selectivity and the other for flat group delay.To reduce the influence of parasitical coupling,new coupling structures were developed in the simulation process.The duplexer was fabricated on a 2 inch diameter,0.5 mm thick LaAlO3 wafer with a double-sided YBCO film.The measured results showed a very high performance:a mid-band insertion loss of 0.2 dB,a return loss better than-14 dB,a shape factor better than 1.4:1,an out-of-band rejection of better than 70 dB in a wide frequency range up to 3 GHz and excellent isolation(higher than 80 dB) between the two channels.In addition,the frequency band 5 ns group delay variation is over 10.5 MHz(38.7% of 1 dB bandwidth). | Jia Wang Qiang Zhang Bin Cui Jin Guo YongBo Bian XiaoFeng He ChunGuang Li XueQiang Zhang Hong Li WuXia Li et al. | 2010 | Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,31: | 2 |

| 10 | Mechanoresponsive MiR-138-5p Targets MACF1 to Inhibit Bone Formation显示文摘Mechanical stimuli play an essential role in maintaining bone remodeling and skeletal integrity.Meanwhile,bone can respond to the changes of mechanical condition to adjust its mass and architecture.Clinical studies discover that bedridden patients showed osteoporotic T-scores and low bone mineral density,and long-term immobilized patients presented reduced markers of bone formation.However,as bone formation mediated by osteoblast differentiation is a complex process,the underlying molecular mechanism of mechanical stimuli regulating bone formation is still unclear.Recent evidences show that microRNAs(miRNAs)are involved in mechanical stimuli regulating bone formation or osteoblast differentiation.Nevertheless,no direct evidence identifies mechanoresponsive miRNA in both human and animal bones,and clarifies its mechanoresponsive role under different mechanical conditions(e.g.mechanical unloading,reloading,loading).In the current study,we screened for differentially expressed miRNAs in bone specimens of bedridden patients with fractures,then identified that the expression of miR-138-5p,but not the other miRNAs,altered withbedridden time and was negatively correlated with the expression of the bone formation marker genes Alp(alkaline phosphatase).Moreover,miR-138-5p was up-regulated with reduced bone formation during unloading and down-regulated with increased bone formation during reloading in hind4imb unloaded mice.In addition,miR-138-5p was verified to be responsive to different mechanical unloading condition and cyclic mechanical stretch condition in primary osteogenic cells,respectively.Further in vitro data suggested that mechanoresponsive miR-138-5p directly targeted microtubule actin crosslinking factor 1(MACF1)to inhibit osteoblast differentiation.In vivo,we constructed an osteoblastic miR-138-5p transgenic mice model(TG138)with the Runx2promoter,and found that overexpression miR-138-5p supressed bone formation.Moreover,osteoblast-targeted inhibition of miR-138-5p sensitized bone anabolic response to mechanical loading in TG138 mice.Predominantly,the osteoblast-targeted inhibition of miR-138-5p could counteract bone formation reduction induced by hind limb unloading.Taken together,the mechanoresponsive miR-138-5p inhibited bone anabolic response for developing a novel bone anabolic sensitization strategy. | Zhihao Chen Zhao Fan Liang Chao Lifang Hu Chen Lei Zhang Yan Yin Chong Dijie Li Tian Ye Wuxia Qiu Kewen Zhang Chaofei Yang Xiaona Li Li Yu Weiyi Chen Zhang Ge Qian Airong | 2019 | 医用生物力学2019,34,A01: | 1 |
