1Mechanism for the formation of the January 2013 heavy haze pollution episode over central and eastern China显示文摘In January 2013,a long-lasting episode of severe haze occurred in central and eastern China,and it attracted attention from all sectors of society.The process and evolution of haze pollution episodes were observed by the'Forming Mechanism and Control Strategies of Haze in China'group using an intensive aerosol and trace gases campaign that simultaneously obtained data at 11 ground-based observing sites in the CARE-China network.The characteristics and formation mechanism of haze pollution episodes were discussed.Five haze pollution episodes were identified in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei(Jing-Jin-Ji)area;the two most severe episodes occurred during 9–15 January and 25–31 January.During these two haze pollution episodes,the maximum hourly PM2.5mass concentrations in Beijing were 680 and 530μg m 3,respectively.The process and evolution of haze pollution episodes in other major cities in the Jing-Jin-Ji area,such as Shijiazhuang and Tianjin were almost the same as those observed in Beijing.The external cause of the severe haze episodes was the unusual atmospheric circulation,the depression of strong cold air activities and the very unfavorable dispersion due to geographical and meteorological conditions.However,the internal cause was the quick secondary transformation of primary gaseous pollutants to secondary aerosols,which contributed to the'explosive growth'and'sustained growth'of PM2.5.Particularly,the abnormally high amount of nitric oxide(NOx)in the haze episodes,produced by fossil fuel combustion and vehicle emissions,played a direct or indirect role in the quick secondary transformation of coal-burning sulphur dioxide(SO2)to sulphate aerosols.Furthermore,gaseous pollutants were transformed into secondary aerosols through heterogeneous reactions on the surface of fine particles,which can change the particle’s size and chemical composition.Consequently,the proportion of secondary inorganic ions,such as sulphate and nitrate,gradually increased,which enhances particle hygroscopicity and thereby accelerating formation of the haze pollution.WANG YueSi YAO Li WANG LiLi LIU ZiRui JI DongSheng TANG GuiQian ZHANG JunKe SUN Yang HU Bo XIN JinYuan 2014Science China Earth Sciences2014,57,1:189
2Variability and reduction of atmospheric pollutants in Beijing and its surrounding area during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games显示文摘The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Atmospheric Environment Monitoring Network was established by the Institute of Atmospheric Physics,Chinese Academy of Sciences.The goals of the network were to monitor and provide warnings of the atmospheric quality in Beijing and its surrounding area during the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.The results showed that the atmospheric complex pollution exhibited high concentrations of ozone and fine particles and oxidation in summer,with a ubiquitous regional source.The regional mean concentrations of SO2,PM2.5,NO2,and O3_8h max(the maximum daily 8 h mean) and Ox were 22±11,90±40,25±5,136±35 and 112±21 μg/m3 in summer,respectively.During the Olympic Games,the mean concentration of SO2,PM2.5,NO2,O3_8h max,and Ox were 12.5±4,56±28,23±4,114±29,95±17 μg/m3 in the region,respectively,and fell by 51.0%,43.7%,13%,20.2%,and 18.9%,respectively,compared to the prophase mean before the Olympic Games.The concentration of atmospheric pollutants declined significantly and achieved the 'Green Olympics' control goal of air quality.After the Olympic Games,SO2,PM2.5 and NOx increased significantly as the temporary atmospheric pollution control measures were terminated.XIN JinYuan WANG YueSi TANG GuiQian WANG LiLi SUN Yang WANG YingHong HU Bo SONG Tao JI DongSheng WANG WeiFeng LI Liang LIU GuangRen 2010Chinese Science Bulletin2010,55,18:30
3Validation of clinical significance of examined lymph node count for accurate prognostic evaluation of gastric cancer for the eighth edition of the American Joint Committee on Cancer(AJCC) TNM staging system显示文摘Objective: To validate the necessity of increasing the examined lymph node(ELN) count for enhancing the accuracy of prognostic evaluation of gastric cancer(GC) patients after curative gastrectomy in multiple medical centers of China.Methods: The clinicopathological data of 7,620 patients who underwent the curative resection for GC between2001 and 2011 were included to demonstrate whether the ELN count is indispensable for enhancing the accuracy of prognostic evaluation of GC patients after surgery. After a meticulous stratification by using the cut-point survival analysis, all included 7,620 patients were allocated into three groups as: less than 16(<16), between 16 and30(16-30), and more than 30(>30) ELNs. Survival differences among various subgroups of GC patients were analyzed to assess the impact of the ELN count on the stage migration in accordance with the overall survival(OS)of GC patients.Results: Survival analyses revealed that the ELN count was positively correlated with the OS(P=0.001) and was an independent prognostic predictor(P<0.01) of 7,620 GC patients. Stratum analysis showed that the accuracy of prognostic evaluation could be enhanced when the ELN count was no less than 16(≥16) for node-negative patients and >30 for node-positive patients. Stage migrations were mainly detected in the various subgroups of patients with specific pN stages as follows: pN0 with 16-30 ELNs(pN0_(16-30)) and pN0 with >30 ELNs(pN0_(>30)), pN0 with <16 ELNs(pN0_(<16)) and pN1_(>30), pN1_(<16) and pN2_(16-30), pN1_(16-30) and pN2_(>30), pN3a_(<16) and pN3b_(16-30), and pN3a_(<16) and pN3b_(>30). It occurs in the Middle Triassic Guanling Formation in Daaozi Village of Luoping County, Yun-nan Province, China. 5Insight-HXMT observations of the first binary neutron star merger GW170817显示文摘Finding the electromagnetic(EM) counterpart of binary compact star merger, especially the binary neutron star(BNS) merger,is critically important for gravitational wave(GW) astronomy, cosmology and fundamental physics. On Aug. 17, 2017,Advanced LIGO and Fermi/GBM independently triggered the first BNS merger, GW170817, and its high energy EM counterpart,GRB 170817 A, respectively, resulting in a global observation campaign covering gamma-ray, X-ray, UV, optical, IR, radio as well as neutrinos. The High Energy X-ray telescope(HE) onboard Insight-HXMT(Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope) is the unique high-energy gamma-ray telescope that monitored the entire GW localization area and especially the optical counterpart(SSS17 a/AT2017 gfo) with very large collection area(~1000 cm^2) and microsecond time resolution in 0.2-5 MeV. In addition,Insight-HXMT quickly implemented a Target of Opportunity(ToO) observation to scan the GW localization area for potential X-ray emission from the GW source. Although Insight-HXMT did not detect any significant high energy(0.2-5 MeV) radiation from GW170817, its observation helped to confirm the unexpected weak and soft nature of GRB 170817 A. Meanwhile,Insight-HXMT/HE provides one of the most stringent constraints(~10^(-7) to 10^(-6) erg/cm^2/s) for both GRB170817 A and any other possible precursor or extended emissions in 0.2-5 MeV, which help us to better understand the properties of EM radiation from this BNS merger. 6Inconsistency of changes in uniaxial compressive strength and P-wave velocity of sandstone after temperature treatments显示文摘It is generally accepted that the uniaxial compressive strength(UCS)and P-wave velocity of rocks tend to decrease simultaneously with increasing temperature.However,based on a great number of statistical data and systematic analysis of the microstructure variation of rocks with temperature rising and corresponding propagation mechanism of elastic wave,the results show that(1)There are three different trends for the changes of UCS and P-wave velocity of sandstone when heated from room temperature(20C or 25C)to 800C:(i)Both the UCS and P-wave velocity decrease simultaneously;(ii)The UCS increases initially and then decreases,while the P-wave velocity decreases continuously;and(iii)The UCS increases initially and then fluctuates,while the P-wave velocity continuously decreases.(2)The UCS changes at room temperaturee400C,400Ce600C,and 600Ce800C are mainly attributed to the discrepancy of microstructure characteristics and quartz content,the transformation plasticity of clay minerals,and the balance between the thermal cementation and thermal damage,respectively.(3)The inconsistency in the trends of UCS and P-wave velocity changes is caused by the change of quartz content,phase transition of water and certain minerals.Jinyuan Zhang Yanjun Shen Gengshe Yang Huan Zhang Yongzhi Wang Xin Hou Qiang Sun Guoyu Li 2021Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2021,13,1:5
7Stable perovskite solar cells with efficiency of 22.6%via quinoxaline-based polymeric hole transport material显示文摘Poor stability of spiro-OMe TAD hole transport materials(HTMs)with dopant is a major obstacle for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells(pero-SCs).Herein,we demonstrate a series of quinoxaline-based D-A copolymers PBQ5,PBQ6 and PBQ10 as the dopant-free polymer HTMs for high performance pero-SCs.The D-A copolymers are composed of fluorothienyl benzodithiophene(BDTT)as D-unit,difluoroquinoxaline(DFQ)with different side chains as A-unit,and thiophene asπ-bridge,where the side chains on the DFQ unit are bi-alkyl for PBQ5,bi-alkyl-fluorothienyl for PBQ6,and alkoxyl for PBQ10.All the three copolymers are adopted as the dopant-free HTM in the pero-SCs.The planar n-i-p structured pero-SCs based on(FAPb I_(3))_(0.98)(MAPb Br_(3))_(0.02)with PBQ6 HTM demonstrated the high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 22.6%with Vocof1.13 V and FF of 80.8%,which is benefitted from the suitable energy level and high hole mobility of PBQ6.The PCE of 22.6%is the highest efficiency reported in the n-i-p structured pero-SCs based on dopant-free D-A copolymer HTM.In addition,the peroSCs show significantly enhanced ambient,thermal and light-soaking stability compared with the devices with traditional spiroOMe TAD HTM.Chenxing Lu Can Zhu Lei Meng Chenkai Sun Wenbin Lai Shucheng Qin Jinyuan Zhang Wenchao Huang Jiaqi Du Yiyang Wang Yongfang Li 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,11:2
8Overview to the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (Insight-HXMT) Satellite显示文摘As China’s first X-ray astronomical satellite, the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope (HXMT), which was dubbed as Insight-HXMT after the launch on June 15, 2017, is a wide-band(1-250 ke V) slat-collimator-based X-ray astronomy satellite with the capability of all-sky monitoring in 0.2-3 Me V. 9The Flavor and Antioxidant Activity Change Pattern of Shrimp Head Paste During Fermentation显示文摘To study the changes of volatile compounds and antioxidant activity of fast fermented shrimp head paste during the fermentation processing,Penaeus vannamei boone head was used as the raw material,and compound starter was added for fermen-tation.During the 14 days of fermentation,the changes of free amino acids,volatile flavor compounds and main components were determined by SPME-GC-MS and electronic nose.The oxidation-resistance changes of water extract at different fermentation stages were evaluated.The results showed that the total free amino acids increased from original 2320 to 5640 mg(100 mL)^(−1).SPME-GC-MS analysis found that aldehydes,pyrazine compounds increased from 10.80%,1.94%to 24.35%,13.63%respectively during the fermentation process.The HO·scavenging ability of shrimp head paste increased from 52%to 86%.Our results showed that the shrimp paste produced from shrimp head fermentation could obtain good flavor and possess certain antioxidant activity of aquatic fermented condiment.YU Jing LU Kuan SUN Jinyuan XIE Wancui SONG Lin CHE Hongxia 2022Journal of Ocean University of China2022,21,1:2

11The Corylus mandshurica genome provides insights into the evolution of Betulaceae genomes and hazelnut breeding显示文摘Hazelnut is popular for its flavor,and it has also been suggested that hazelnut is beneficial to cardiovascular health because it is rich in oleic acid.Here,we report the first high-quality chromosome-scale genome for the hazelnut species Corylus mandshurica(2n=22),which has a high concentration of oleic acid in its nuts.The assembled genome is 367.67Mb in length,and the contig N50 is 14.85 Mb.All contigs were assembled into 11 chromosomes,and 28,409 protein-coding genes were annotated.We reconstructed the evolutionary trajectories of the genomes of Betulaceae species and revealed that the 11 chromosomes of the hazelnut genus were derived from the most ancestral karyotype in Betula pendula,which has 14 protochromosomes,by inferring homology among five Betulaceae genomes.We identified 96 candidate genes involved in oleic acid biosynthesis,and 10 showed rapid evolution or positive selection.These findings will help us to understand the mechanisms of lipid synthesis and storage in hazelnuts.Several gene families related to salicylic acid metabolism and stress responses experienced rapid expansion in this hazelnut species,which may have increased its stress tolerance.The reference genome presented here constitutes a valuable resource for molecular breeding and genetic improvement of the important agronomic properties of hazelnut.Ying Li Pengchuan Sun Zhiqiang Lu Jinyuan Chen Zhenyue Wang Xin Du Zeyu Zheng Ying Wu Hongyin Hu Jiao Yang Jianxiang Ma Jianquan Liu Yongzhi Yang 2021Horticulture Research2021,8,1:1

14Mesh-like vertical structures enable both high areal capacity and excellent rate capability显示文摘In order to balance electrochemical kinetics with loading level for achieving efficient energy storage with high areal capacity and good rate capability simultaneously for wearable electronics,herein,2 D meshlike vertical structures(NiCo_2 S_4@Ni(OH)_2) with a high mass loading of 2.17 mg cm^(-2) and combined merits of both 1 D nanowires and 2 D nanosheets are designed for fabricating flexible hybrid supercapacitors.Particularly,the seamlessly interconnected NiCo_2 S_4 core not only provides high capacity of 287.5 μAh cm^(-2) but also functions as conductive skeleton for fast electron transport;Ni(OH)_2 sheath occupying the voids in NiCo_2 S_4 meshes contributes extra capacity of 248.4 μAh cm^(-2);the holey features guarantee rapid ion diffusion along and across NiCO_2 S_4@Ni(OH)_2 meshes.The resultant flexible electrode exhibits a high areal capacity of 535.9 μAh cm^(-2)(246.9 mAh g^(-1)) at 3 mA cm^(-2) and outstanding rate performance with 84.7% retention at 30 mA cm^(-2),suggesting efficient utilization of both NiCo_2 S_4 and Ni(OH)_2 with specific capacities approaching to their theoretical values.The flexible solid-state hybrid device based on NiCo_2 S_4@Ni(OH)_2 cathode and Fe_2 O_3 anode delivers a high energy density of 315 μWh cm^(-2) at the power density of 2.14 mW cm^(-2) with excellent electrochemical cycling stability.Ruyi Chen Jialu Xue Yujiao Gong Chenyang Yu Zengyu Hui Hai Xu Yue Sun Xi Zhao Jianing An Jinyuan Zhou Qiang Chen Gengzhi Sun Wei Huang 2021Journal of Energy Chemistry2021,30,2:1

16Transport Patterns and Potential Sources of Atmospheric Pollution during the ⅩⅩⅣ Olympic Winter Games Period显示文摘The attainment of suitable ambient air quality standards is a matter of great concern for successfully hosting the ⅩⅩⅣ Olympic Winter Games(OWG). Transport patterns and potential sources of pollutants in Zhangjiakou(ZJK) were investigated using pollutant monitoring datasets and a dispersion model. The PM_(2.5) concentration during February in ZJK has increased slightly(28%) from 2018 to 2021, mostly owing to the shift of main potential source regions of west-central Inner Mongolia and Mongolian areas(2015–18) to the North China Plain and northern Shanxi Province(NCPS) after 2018.Using CO as an indicator, the relative contributions of the different regions to the receptor site(ZJK) were evaluated based on the source-receptor-relationship method(SRR) and an emission inventory. We found that the relative contribution of pollutants from NCPS increased from 33% to 68% during 2019–21. Central Inner Mongolia(CIM) also has an important impact on ZJK under unfavorable weather conditions. 17Prediction and Minimization of the Heat Treatment Induced Distortion in 8620H Steel Gear:Simulation and Experimental Verification显示文摘The considerable heat treatment induced runout value in the end face of the automobile main reducer gear is always dimensionally out of tolerance.It directly affects the dimensional accuracy,the grade of carburized and hardened gears,and the post-quenching manufacturing costs.In this study,three dimensional numerical models were developed to simulate the carburizing-quenching process of gear based on the multi-field coupling theory using DEFORM software.The results indicated that the ununiform cooling rate of the gear caused by the asymmetry of the web structure would result in the ununiform distribution of martensite,leading to the large runout value at the end face of the gear.Therefore,a novel method was proposed to minimize the heat treatment induced runout value.It was found that the heat treatment induced runout value could be effectively controlled by the addition of a compensation ring and the support of a rod structure.Further experiments showed that the average runout value of the gear end face before and after the proposed heat treatment method were about 0.023 mm and 0.059 mm respectively,which was in good agreement with the simulated results.The novel approach proposed in this study led to a reduction of the gear runout value by 70.0%‒76.9%compared to that of the original heat treatment process,which may serve as a practical and economical way to predict and minimize the heat treatment induced distortion in drive gear.Wen Shao Mohan Yi Jinyuan Tang Siyuan Sun 2022Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2022,35,6:1

20Insights into the biosynthesis of septacidin L-heptosamine moiety unveils a VOC family sugar epimerase显示文摘L-Heptopyranoses are important components of bacterial polysaccharides and biological active secondary metabolites like septacidin(SEP),which represents a group of nucleoside antibiotics with antitumor,antifungal,and pain-relief activities.However,little is known about the formation mechanisms of those L-heptose moieties.In this study,we deciphered the biosynthetic pathway of the L,L-gluco-heptosamine moiety in SEPs by functional characterizing four genes and proposed that SepI initiates the process by oxidizing the 4’-hydroxyl of L-glycero-α-D-manno-heptose moiety of SEP-328(2)to a keto group.Subsequently,SepJ(C5 epimerase)and SepA(C3 epimerase)shape the 4’-keto-L-heptopyranose moiety by sequential epimerization reactions.At the last step,an aminotransferase SepG installs the 4’-amino group of the L,L-gluco-heptosamine moiety to generate SEP-327(3).An interesting phenomenon is that the SEP intermediates with 4’-keto-L-heptopyranose moieties exist as special bicyclic sugars with hemiacetal-hemiketal structures.Notably,L-pyranose is usually converted from D-pyranose by bifunctional C3/C5 epimerase.SepA is an unprecedented monofunctional L-pyranose C3 epimerase.Further in silico and experimental studies revealed that it represents an overlooked metal dependent-sugar epimerase family bearing vicinal oxygen chelate(VOC)architecture.Meng Chen Zhengyan Guo Jinyuan Sun Wei Tang Min Wang Yue Tang Pengwei Li Bian Wu Yihua Chen 2023Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2023,13,2:0
