Mycorrhiza and Phosphate Solubilizing Bacteria:Potential Bioagents for Sustainable Phosphorus Management in Agriculture显示文摘Phosphorus(P)is a critical nutrient that plays an essential role in improving soil fertility for optimum plant growth and productivity. It is one of the most deficient macro-nutrients in agricultural soils after nitrogen and is considered inadequate for plant growth and production. To P availability in soils, the farmers are applying huge amounts of synthetic P fertilizers that adversely affect the wider environment, groundwater, soil fertility and microbial population. Many beneficial microbes are known to release and supply soluble P for improving growth and yield of a variety of plants in a sustainable manner in P deficient soils. Thus, inoculation of these microbes, including arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)and phosphate solubilizing bacteria(PSB)to soil to enhance crop production without harming the environment,is an alternative approach to chemical fertilizers. The combined role of AMF and PSB in P solubilization is not well understood and the application and mode of action of these microbial groups are often naive due to variation in the environment. Therefore, the current review article would develop a better understanding of the interactive role and mechanisms of AMF and PSB in improving P availability from both organic and inorganic sources in a sustainable crop production system. Finally, the current review would loop out further avenues for researchers interested to commercially produce effective AMF and PSB-based biofertilizers for sustainable management of phosphorus over a wide range of agricultural crops worldwide.Fazli Wahid Muhammad Sharif Shah Fahad Amjad Ali Muhammad Adnan Rafiullah Shah Saud Subhan Danish Muhammad Arif Ali Niaz Ahmed Hüseyin Arslan Doğan Arslan Murat Erman Ayman EL Sabagh Fatemeh Gholizadeh Rahul Datta 2022Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,2:2

Ovarian carcinoma in two patients with chronic liver disease显示文摘Ascites is a common and debilitating complication of cirrhosis. However, patients with chronic liver disease are not spared from other causes of ascites and physicians should be careful not to miss an underlying malignancy.Ovarian cancer is an insidious disease, which is difficult to diagnose and it ranks first in mortality among all gynecological cancers. Here, we present two cases of patients with chronic liver disease that developed ascites not simply because of cirrhosis but as a manifestation of ovarian cancer. We would like to emphasize that the causes of ascites, other than the liver itself, should not be overlooked in patients with chronic liver disease.Mehlika Lsildak Murat Kekilli Yavuz Beyazit Gulay Sain Guven Mustafa Erman Gulay Sain Guverl Mustafa Ermall 2005World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,28:0
Application of Chebyshev theorem to data preparation in landslide susceptibility mapping studies:an example from Yenice(Karabük,Turkey)region显示文摘Landslide database construction is one of the most crucial stages of the landslide susceptibility mapping studies.Although there are many techniques for preparing landslide database in the literature, representative data selection from huge data sets is a challenging, and,to some extent,a subjective task. Thus,in order to produce reliable landslide susceptibility maps,data-driven,objective and representative database construction is a very important stage for these maps. This study mainly focuses on a landslide database construction task.In this study,it was aimed at building a representative landslide database extraction approach by using Chebyshev theorem to evaluate landslide susceptibility in a landslide prone area in the WesternBlack Sea region of Turkey. The study area was divided into two different parts such as training(Basin 1) and testing areas(Basin 2).A total of nine parameters such as topographical elevation, slope, aspect, planar and profile curvatures, stream power index, distance to drainage, normalized difference vegetation index and topographical wetness index were used in the study.Next, frequency distributions of the considered parameters in both landslide and nonlandslide areas were extracted using different sampling strategies, and a total of nine different landslide databases were obtained.Of these, eight databases were gathered by the methodology proposed by this study based on different standard deviations and algebraic multiplication of raster parameter maps.To evaluate landslide susceptibility,Artificial Neural Network method was used in thestudy area considering the different landslide and nonlandslide data. Finally,to assess the performance of the so-produced landslide susceptibility map based on nine data sets,Area Under Curve(AUC approach was implemented both in Basin 1 and Basin2.The best performances(the greatest AUC values were gathered by the landslide susceptibility map produced by two standard deviation databas extracted by the Chebyshev theorem,as 0.873 and0.761,respectively.Results revealed that th methodology proposed by this study is a powerful and objective approach in landslide susceptibility mapping.Murat ERCANOGLU Gülseren DAGDELENLER Erman OZSAYIN Tolga ALKEVLI Harun SONMEZ N.Nur OZYURT Burcu KAHRAMAN Ibrahim UCAR Sinem CETINKAYA 2016Journal of Mountain Science2016,13,11:0
Enhancing Drought Tolerance in Wheat through Improving Morpho- Physiological and Antioxidants Activities of Plants by the Supplementation of Foliar Silicon显示文摘The main objective of the research is to assess the role of foliar application of silicon(Si)for enhancing the survival ability of wheat under drought stress through improving its morphology, physicochemical and antioxidants activities.Treatments were five doses of Si at the rate of 2,4,6 and 8 mM and a control. After completion of seeds germination, pots were divided into four distinct groups at various field capacity(FC)levels, such as 100%FC(well-irrigated condition),75%FC(slight water deficit),50%FC(modest water deficit)and 25%FC(severe water deficit stress condition).Foliar application of Si at the rate of 2,4,6 and 8 mM and a control were given after 30 days of sowing at the tillering stage of wheat.Findings of the present investigation indicated that increasing the level of water deficit stress reduced the morphological parameters(such as root and shoot fresh and dry-biomass weight)and physico-biochemical events((such as chlorophyll contents by estimating SPAD value),total free amino acid(TFAA),total soluble sugar(TSS),total soluble protein(TSP),total proline(TP),CAT(catalase),POD(peroxidase),SOD(superoxide dismutase)and APX(ascorbate peroxidase))of wheat;while foliar application of Si at 6 mM at tillering stage enhanced the drought tolerance in wheat by increasing morphology and physiochemical characters under all levels of drought stress.Similarly, antioxidants activities in wheat also enhanced by the application of Si at 6 mM under normal as well as all drought stress levels.There-fore,it may be concluded that foliar application of Si at 6 mM at the tillering stage of wheat is an important indication for increasing the drought tolerance by improving the morphology,physico-biochemical and antioxidants activities in plants under deficit water(drought)conditions.Zahoor Ahmad Ejaz Ahmad Waraich Celaleddin Barutçular Akbar Hossain Murat Erman Fatih CIG Hany Gharib Ayman EL Sabagh 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,3:0
Alterations in Growth and Yield of Camelina Induced by Different Planting Densities under Water Deficit Stress显示文摘Camelina(Camelina sativa L.)is famous for its oil quality and unique fatty acid pattern.Growth and yield of crops reduced under water deficit conditions.Environmental threat such as drought or water deficit condition is the emerging problem which creates the negative impact on the growth of plants.Based upon the current situation a pot study was performed in rain out-shelter to explore the effect of different plant densities(15,10 and 5 plants per pot)on growth and seed yield of two camelina genotypes under normal(100%WHC)and water deficit(60%WHC)conditions by using completely randomized design with factorial arrangement having three replicates. Results indicated that individual effects of plant densities and water deficit stress levels considerably influenced the growth and seed yield of camelina but interaction effects did not indicate any significant variation.Maximum values of leaf area index(LAI)and crop growth rate(CGR)were recorded in P_(3) treatment(15 plants per pot). However, maximum values of leaf area duration(LAD),net assimilation rate(NAR),yield and yield components were observed in the treatment P_(1)(5 plants per pot).Water deficit condition(60%WHC)significantly minimized the growth, seed yield(0.82 g/m^(2))and yield components of camelina genotypes. Both camelina genotypes(611 and 618)did not differ significantly under water deficit conditions.Ejaz Ahmad Waraich Zeeshan Ahmed Zahoor Ahmad Rashid Ahmad Murat Erman Fatih Cig Ayman El Sabagh 2020Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2020,89,3:0
