| 1 | Single vs dual(en bloc) kidney transplants from donors ≤ 5 years of age: A single center experience显示文摘AIM: To compare outcomes between single and dual en bloc(EB) kidney transplants(KT) from small pediatric donors. METHODS: Monocentric nonprospective review of KTs from pediatric donors ≤ 5 years of age. Dual EB KT was defined as keeping both donor kidneys attached tothe inferior vena cava and aorta, which were then used as venous and arterial conduits for the subsequent transplant into a single recipient. Donor age was less useful than either donor weight or kidney size in decision-making for kidney utilization as kidneys from donors < 8 kg or kidneys < 6 cm in length were not transplanted. Post-transplant management strategies were standardized in all patients.RESULTS: From 2002-2015, 59 KTs were performed including 34 dual EB and 25 single KTs. Mean age of donors(17 mo vs 38 mo, P < 0.001), mean weight(11.0 kg vs 17.4 kg, P = 0.046) and male donors(50% vs 84%, P = 0.01) were lower in the dual EB compared to the single KT group, respectively. Mean cold ischemia time(21 h), kidney donor profile index(KDPI; 73% vs 62%) and levels of serum creatinine(SCr, 0.37 mg/d L vs 0.49 mg/d L, all P = NS) were comparable in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively. Actuarial graft and patient survival rates at 5-years follow-up were comparable. There was one case of thrombosis resulting in graft loss in each group. Delayed graft function incidence(12% dual EB vs 20% single KT, P = NS) was slightly lower in dual EB KT recipients. Initial duration of hospital stay(mean 5.4 d vs 5.6 d) and the one-year incidences of acute rejection(6% vs 16%), operative complications(3% vs 4%), and major infection were comparable in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively(all P = NS). Mean 12 mo SCr and abbreviated MDRD levels were 1.17 mg/d L vs 1.35 mg/d L and 72.5 m L/min per 1.73 m^2 vs 60.5 m L/min per 1.73 m^2(both P = NS) in the dual EB and single KT groups, respectively. | 2 | Optimal management of nitrogen fertilizer in the main rice crop and its carrying-over effect on ratoon rice under mechanized cultivation in Southeast China显示文摘This study attempted to clarify the carrying-over effect of different nitrogen treatments applied to the main crop on the crop population growth and yield formation of ratoon rice under mechanized cultivation in Southeast China.Based on the constant total nitrogen application amounts(225.00 kg ha;)in the main crop,an experiment with different ratios of basal and topdressing nitrogen fertilizer(the ratio of basal fertilizer:primary tillering fertilizer:secondary tillering fertilizer:booting fertilizer at 3:1:2:4(N1),3:2:1:4(N2),3:3:0:4(N3),and 4:3:0:3(N4),respectively,and a control without nitrogen treatment(N0))was set up across two consecutive years in field using hybrid rice variety Yongyou 1540 as the test materials.The results showed that the total tiller number and effective tillering percentage increased in the main crop under the N1 treatment,more nitrogen fertilizer applied in late growth stage of the main crop,and its effective tillering percentage of the main crop was the highest at up to 70.18%,which was 9.15%higher than that of conventional fertilization treatment(N4),more nitrogen fertilizer applied in early growth stage of the main crop.The same tendency was observed in leaf area index(LAI)value of the main crop and its subsequent ratoon rice,which were 16.52 and 29.87%higher,respectively,in the N1 treatment than that in the N4 treatment at the full heading stage.The same was true in the case of the transport rates of stem and sheath dry mater and the canopy light interception rates in both the main and its ratoon crops.The transport rate of stem and sheath in main crop rice under N1 treatment increased by 50.57%compared with N4 treatment.The canopy light interception rate of N1 treatment increased by 5.07%compared with N4 treatment at the full heading stage of the ratoon crop.Therefore,the total actual yield was the highest in the main and its ratoon crops under N1 treatment,averaging 17351.23 kg ha;in two-year trials,which was 23.00%higher than that in the conventional fertilization treatment(N4).The results showed that appropriate nitrogen treatment was able to produce a good crop stand in the main crop,which was essential for producing a good ratoon crop population and high yield especially under mechanized cultivation with low stubble height of the main crop.The study suggested that shifting the proper nitrogen application amounts to the late growth stage of the main crop,such as N1 treatment,not only had a higher productive effect on ensuring the yield of the main crop,but also had a positive effect on the axillary bud sprouts from the stubbles for ratoon rice,resulting in an increased percentage of productive panicles and achieving the goal of one planting with two good harvests under the conditions of our study. | HUANG Jin-wen WU Jia-yi CHEN Hong-fei ZHANG Zhi-xing FANG Chang-xun SHAO Cai-hong LIN Wei-wei WENG Pei-ying Muhammad Umar KHAN LIN Wen-xiong | 2022 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2022,21,2: | 2 |

| 4 | Single and Mitochondrial Gene Inheritance Disorder Prediction Using Machine Learning显示文摘One of the most difficult jobs in the post-genomic age is identifying a genetic disease from a massive amount of genetic data.Furthermore,the complicated genetic disease has a very diverse genotype,making it challenging to find genetic markers.This is a challenging process since it must be completed effectively and efficiently.This research article focuses largely on which patients are more likely to have a genetic disorder based on numerous medical parameters.Using the patient’s medical history,we used a genetic disease prediction algorithm that predicts if the patient is likely to be diagnosed with a genetic disorder.To predict and categorize the patient with a genetic disease,we utilize several deep and machine learning techniques such as Artificial neural network(ANN),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and Support vector machine(SVM).To enhance the accuracy of predicting the genetic disease in any patient,a highly efficient approach was utilized to control how the model can be used.To predict genetic disease,deep and machine learning approaches are performed.The most productive tool model provides more precise efficiency.The simulation results demonstrate that by using the proposed model with the ANN,we achieve the highest model performance of 85.7%,84.9%,84.3%accuracy of training,testing and validation respectively.This approach will undoubtedly transform genetic disorder prediction and give a real competitive strategy to save patients’lives. | Muhammad Umar Nasir Muhammad Adnan Khan Muhammad Zubair Taher MGhazal Raed A.Said Hussam Al Hamadi | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10: | 1 |
| 5 | Environmental degradation and poverty:A bibliometric review显示文摘Understanding the mutual logic between environment and poverty mitigation is vital for achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).This study conducts a bibliometric review of the available literature on environmental degradation and poverty and summarizes the existing researches.By applying suitable keywords,we retrieved 175 peer-reviewed articles from the Web of Science published between 1993 and 2020.We utilized the visualization of similarity viewer(VOSviewer)for this bibliometric study and classified the leading publications,prominent journals,and institutions.Furthermore,our bibliometric review found a phenomenon in investigation that people are indifference about the impact of environmental degradation on rising poverty levels in poor and developing countries.In terms of contributions,this study classifies 4 leading thematic clusters that identify how environmental degradation increases poverty.By employing text mining analysis,this research connects specific environmental terms accountable for the recent rise in global poverty.We finally recommend that including other databases to strengthen the findings of environmental degradation and poverty is one of the future research directions. | Muhammad Ali Khan BURKI Umar BURKI Usama NAJAM | 2021 | Regional Sustainability2021,2,4: | 1 |
| 6 | Impact of Tillage and Herbicides on Weed Density, Yield and Quality of Cotton in Wheat Based Cropping System显示文摘Conservation tillage may improve yield of cotton in addition to improvement in soil quality if practiced for longer period. However, the practice may not be productive in short-term particularly when severe weeds are infesting the crops such as Cynodon dactylon, Conyza canadensis, Tribulus terrestris, and Cyperus rotundus, etc. Recent studies indicate that conventional tillage (CT) is more productive than zero tillage (ZT)/reduced tillage (RT). Performance of cotton under three tillage systems, viz., ZT, RT and CT; and five herbicides, i.e., haloxyfop-R-methyl 10.8 EC (108 g a.i. ha^(-1)), lactofen 24 EC (168 g a.i. ha^(-1)), haloxyfop 10.8 EC + lactofen 24 EC, hand weeding, and weedy check were evaluated during 2010-2011 at Gomal University, D.I.Khan, Pakistan, to explore the best management option for effective weed control, enhanced yield and quality of cotton grown after wheat. The results revealed that hand weeding and Haloxyfop as post emergence alone or in combination with Lactofen reduced weed density to the minimum irrespective of the tillage systems. Excessive rainfall and cooler temperature limited cotton growth and yield in 2010. The adverse weather conditions had more adverse effect on boll weight under ZT and RT than CT. Haloxyfop + lactofen produced higher seed cotton yield in RT than ZT, however, it could not exceed CT. Broad-spectrum herbicides×CT produced the highest number of bolls/plant, boll weight and seed cotton yield. Fiber quality and net returns were also the highest in broad-spectrum herbicides×CT. | 7 | Integrated Weed Management Through Tillage and Herbicides for Wheat Production in Rice-Wheat Cropping System in Northwestern Pakistan显示文摘Conservational tillage (CT) in combination with broad spectrum herbicide may be more efficient and economical in controlling weeds, reducing cost of cultivation, and enhancing wheat yield. Field experiments were carried out to evaluate the effect of tillage and herbicides on weeds and wheat yield under rice-wheat cropping system (RWCS). The results indicated that broad spectrum herbicides particularly, carfentrazone ethyl ester + isoproturon (Affinity 50 WDG) reduced weeds density by 93 and 95% compared to control and also produced the maximum grain yield (6 818 and 6 996 kg ha-1) and HI (harvest index, 44.7 and 44.6%) in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 growing seasons, respectively. The maximum weeds infestation and the lowest yield were recorded in control. Tillage methods significantly influenced grain yield and HI, while no significant effect on all other parameters. The overall mean yield was significantly higher in zero tillage (5 575 kg ha-1) and reduced tillage (5 584 kg ha-1) compared to CT (5 479 kg ha-1). Besides increasing wheat yield, Affinity 50 WDG and zero tillage are important weed management practices that can be integrated into wheat production in RWCS. | 10 | Use of the multiplane internal mastopexy for ptosis correction revision-augmentation mammoplasty显示文摘Aim:Augmentation mammoplasty is a commonly performed procedure with a high satisfaction rate.Multiplane pocket was described for simultaneous internal mastopexy and augmentation using inframammary crease incision for selected primary and secondary mammoplasties.The use of the technique is presented with a larger experience for correction of ptosis in a patient presenting for revision surgery following subglandular augmentation mammoplasty.Methods:A retrospectively collected data were analyzed using the Excel Spread Sheet.A total of 25 patients had multiplane augmentation with the internal mastopexy following augmentation mammoplasty in subglandular pocket.Data of 25 patients who had their revision surgery in multiplane were analyzed.Results:The group included 25 patients with a mean age of 36.6 years(range:25-54 years)with mean implant duration of 6.4 years(range:1.5-13 years).Twenty-three of the patients were nonsmokers,1 smoker and 1 patient’s smoking status was not mentioned.Eighteen patients presented with grade I capsular contracture,3 patients with grade II contracture and 4 patients had a combination of grade I and II capsular contracture.Pseudoptosis was present in 6,class B ptosis in 6,A/B ptosis in 3,water-down deformity in 5 and rippling in 5 patients.Average preoperative size of implant used initially was 334.4 mL(range:250-340 mL)and the mean implant size selected for revision surgery was 416 mL(range:260-525 mL).Mean follow-up time was 18 months(range:6-48 months).Of 25 patients,21 had a bilateral procedure whereas the technique was used unilaterally in 4 patients for the correction of asymmetry.All patients had a single dose of intravenous antibiotics and followed by an oral course for 5 days,there was no infection noted in the series.In the current series,no patient required revision surgery following the multiplane internal mastopexy.Conclusion:Multiplane internal mastopexy can be useful in selected cases of revisionary augmentation mammoplasty. | Umar Daraz Khan Muhammad Riaz | 2015 | Plastic and Aesthetic Research2015,2,1: | 0 |
| 11 | Analyzing and Enabling the Harmonious Coexistence of Heterogeneous Industrial Wireless Networks显示文摘Nowadays multiple wireless communication systems operate in industrial environments side by side.In such an environment performance of one wireless network can be degraded by the collocated hostile wireless network having higher transmission power or higher carrier sensing threshold.Unlike the previous research works which considered IEEE 802.15.4 for the Industrial Wireless communication systems(iWCS)this paper examines the coexistence of IEEE 802.11 based iWCS used for delay-stringent communication in process automation and gWLAN(general-purpose WLAN)used for non-real time communication.In this paper,we present a Markov chain-based performance model that described the transmission failure of iWCS due to geographical collision with gWLAN.The presented analytic model accurately determines throughput,packet transaction delay,and packet loss probability of iWCS when it is collocated with gWLAN.The results of the Markov model match more than 90%with our simulation results.Furthermore,we proposed an adaptive transmission power control technique for iWCS to overcome the potential interferences caused by the gWLAN transmissions.The simulation results show that the proposed technique significantly improves iWCS performance in terms of throughput,packet transaction,and cycle period reduction.Moreover,it enables the industrial network for the use of delay critical applications in the presence of gWLAN without affecting its performance. | Bilal Khan Danish Shehzad Numan Shafi Ga-Young Kim Muhammad Umar Aftab | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10: | 0 |
| 12 | Data Fusion Architecture Empowered with Deep Learning for Breast Cancer Classification显示文摘Breast cancer(BC)is the most widespread tumor in females worldwide and is a severe public health issue.BC is the leading reason of death affecting females between the ages of 20 to 59 around the world.Early detection and therapy can help women receive effective treatment and,as a result,decrease the rate of breast cancer disease.The cancer tumor develops when cells grow improperly and attack the healthy tissue in the human body.Tumors are classified as benign or malignant,and the absence of cancer in the breast is considered normal.Deep learning,machine learning,and transfer learning models are applied to detect and identify cancerous tissue like BC.This research assists in the identification and classification of BC.We implemented the pre-trained model AlexNet and proposed model Breast cancer identification and classification(BCIC),which are machine learning-based models,by evaluating them in the form of comparative research.We used 3 datasets,A,B,and C.We fuzzed these datasets and got 2 datasets,A2C and B3C.Dataset A2C is the fusion of A,B,and C with 2 classes categorized as benign and malignant.Dataset B3C is the fusion of datasets A,B,and C with 3 classes classified as benign,malignant,and normal.We used customized AlexNet according to our datasets and BCIC in our proposed model.We achieved an accuracy of 86.5%on Dataset B3C and 76.8%on Dataset A2C by using AlexNet,and we achieved the optimum accuracy of 94.5%on Dataset B3C and 94.9%on Dataset A2C by using proposed model BCIC at 40 epochs with 0.00008 learning rate.We proposed fuzzed dataset model using transfer learning.We fuzzed three datasets to get more accurate results and the proposed model achieved the highest prediction accuracy using fuzzed dataset transfer learning technique. | Sahar Arooj Muhammad Farhan Khan Tariq Shahzad Muhammad Adnan Khan Muhammad Umar Nasir Muhammad Zubair Atta-ur-Rahman Khmaies Ouahada | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,12: | 0 |

| 14 | Band Structure Characteristics of Two-Dimensional Si-A (Ge, Pb, Sn) Alloy-Air Holes Thermal Crystals显示文摘This paper designs the thermal crystals composed of alloy materials with air holes and analyzes their properties of band structures,heat transmission,and flux spectra.Thermal crystals composed of Si-A(A=Ge,Sn,Pb)alloys as background materials and air holes with square array are used to construct an elastic-constant periodic structure and their high-frequency phononic band is calculated by deploying finite element methods.Moreover,this paper investigates heat transmission through a finite array of thermally excited phonons and presents the thermal crystal with maximum heat transport.The results show that a wider bandgap could be achieved by increasing the air hole radius and decreasing the lattice constant.In the alloy materials,with increasing atomic radius and thus atomic mass(Ge,Sn,Pb),the frequency range(contributed to thermal conductivity)shifts towards lower frequency.Hence,the bandgap frequencies also shift toward low frequency,but this decreasing rate is not constant or in order,so former may have a faster or slower decreasing rate than the later.Thus,the frequency range for the contribution of heat transportation overlaps with the bandgap frequency range.The development of thermal crystals is promising for managing heat and controlling the propagation of the thermal wave. | AZKA Umar 姜淳 KHUSHIK Muhammad Hanif Ahmed Khan | 2023 | Journal of Shanghai Jiaotong university(Science)2023,28,2: | 0 |

| 18 | In vitro and in vivo study on fine-grained Mg-Zn-RE-Zr alloy as a biodegradeable orthopedic implant produced by friction stir processing显示文摘Magnesium alloys containing biocompatible components show tremendous promise for applications as temporary biomedical devices. However, to ensure their safe use as biodegradeable implants, it is essential to control their corrosion rates. In concentrated Mg alloys, a microgalvanic coupling between the α-Mg matrix and secondary precipitates exists which results in increased corrosion rate. To address this challenge, we engineered the microstructure of a biodegradable Mg-Zn-RE-Zr alloy by friction stir processing (FSP), improving its corrosion resistance and mechanical properties simultaneously. The FS processed alloy with refined grains and broken and uniformly distributed secondary precipitates showed a relatively uniform corrosion morphology accompanied with the formation of a stable passive layer on the alloy surface. In vivo corrosion evaluation of the processed alloy in a small animal model showed that the material was well-tolerated with no signs of inflammation or harmful by-products. Remarkably, the processed alloy supported bone until it healed till eight weeks with a low in vivo corrosion rate of 0.7 mm/year. Moreover, we analyzed blood and histology of the critical organs such as liver and kidney, which showed normal functionality and consistent ion and enzyme levels, throughout the 12- week study period. These results demonstrate that the processed Mg-Zn-RE-Zr alloy offers promising potential for osseointegration in bone tissue healing while also exhibiting controlled biodegradability due to its engineered microstructure.
