1Assessment of sunflower germplasm for phytoremediation of lead-polluted soil and production of seed oil and seed meal for human and animal consumption显示文摘Phytoremediation is a valuable technology for mitigating soil contamination in agricultural lands,but phytoremediation without economic revenue is unfeasible for land owners and farmers.The use of crops with high biomass and bioenergy for phytoremediation is a unique strategy to derive supplementary benefits along with remediation activities.Sunflower(Helianthus annuus L.)is a high-biomass crop that can be used for the phytoremediation of polluted lands with additional advantages(biomass and oil).In this study,40 germplasms of sunflower were screened in field conditions for phytoremediation with the possibility for oil and meal production.The study was carried out to the physiological maturity stage.All studied germplasms mopped up substantial concentrations of Pb,with maximum amounts in shoot>root>seed respectively.The phytoextraction efficiency of the germplasm was assessed in terms of the Transfer factor(TF),Metal removal efficiency(MRE)and Metal extraction ratio(MER).Among all assessed criteria,GP.8585 was found to be most appropriate for restoring moderately Pb-contaminated soil accompanied with providing high biomass and high yield production.The Pb content in the oil of GP.8585 was below the Food safety standard of China,with 59.5% oleic acid and 32.1% linoleic acid.Moreover,amino acid analysis in meal illustrated significant differences among essential and nonessential amino acids.Glutamic acid was found in the highest percentage(22.4%),whereas cysteine in the lowest percentage(1.3%).Therefore,its efficient phytoextraction ability and good quality edible oil and meal production makes GP.8585 the most convenient sunflower germplasm for phytoremediation of moderately Pb-contaminated soil,with fringe benefits to farmers and landowners.Afsheen Zehra Zulfiqar Ali Sahito Wenbin Tong Lin Tang Yasir Hamid Muhammad Bilal Khan Zarina Ali Beena Naqui Xiaoe Yang 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1:10
2GmCHS8和GmIFS2基因共同决定大豆中异黄酮的积累显示文摘大豆异黄酮受多基因控制,采用传统育种方法提高大豆异黄酮含量比较困难。我们之前的研究表明,CHS8基因在异黄酮生物合成过程中发挥着重要作用,但CHS8基因过量表达并不能显著提高异黄酮含量。本研究利用Microarray技术,检测了高异黄酮品种RCATAngra(RCAT)和低异黄酮品种Harovinton(HVNT)的18362基因在种子发育过程中表达水平的变化以及大豆种子中异黄酮累积的趋势,利用RT-PCR证实CHS8和IFS2分别是CHSs和IFSs基因家族中的主要基因;证实CHS8是类苯基丙醇主路径中的主基因,并发现异黄酮支路中的IFS2基因在RCAT和HVNT品种中表达差异亦达到显著水平。进一步利用发根农杆菌转化系统,在大豆上分别过量表达CHS8、IFS2和CHS8+IFS2,前两者异黄酮含量较对照分别提高65.9%和34.4%,但增幅未达显著水平;而后者则提高了82.3%,增幅达极显著水平(P<0.0001),因而证实大豆中异黄酮的积累由CHS8和IFS2基因共同决定。易金鑫 徐照龙 王峻峰 张大勇 何晓兰 ZULFIQAR Ali 朱虹润 马鸿翔 SANGEETA Dhaubhadel 2011作物学报2011,37,4:9

4Herding behavior in Ramadan and financial crises: the case of the Pakistani stock market显示文摘This study examines herding behavior in the Pakistani Stock Market under different market conditions,focusing on the Ramadan effect and Crisis period by using data from 2004 to 2014.Two regression models of Christie and Huang(Financ Analysts J 51:31-37,1995)and Chang et al.,(J Bank Finance 24:1651-1679,2000)are used for herding estimations.Results based on daily stock data reveal that there is an absence of herding behavior during rising(up)and falling(down)market as well as during high and low volatility in market.While herding behavior is detected during low trading volume days.Yearly analysis shows that herding existed during 2005,2006 and 2007,while it is not evident during rest of the period.However,herding behavior is not detected during Ramadan.Furthermore,during financial crisis of 2007-08,Pakistani Stock Market exhibits herding behavior due to higher uncertainty and information asymmetry.Imran Yousaf Shoaib Ali Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah 2018Financial Innovation2018,4,1:2

7Formation of crystalline particles from phase change emulsion: Influence of different parameters显示文摘Solidification or crystallization of phase change emulsion in the form of fine emulsion drops in a direct contact coolant at temperatures below their freezing point was studied. This work is mainly focused on the size and shape of the generated particles from phase change emulsified fats. Size of the particles is the major or key factor being considered during their formation, however, other factors that govern the particle size and shape were also observed. The operating parameters of the process were optimized in order to obtain particles of smaller size ranges in the window of current operating conditions. The crystallization of complex emulsion matrices is very difficult to control in the bulk at desired requirement. Hence, the emulsion drop to particle formation has advantage in comparison with the bulk solidification or crystallization. The main objective of this work is to achieve spherical emulsion particles in a direct contact cooling system. Parameters like: stability, characterization, viscosity, and the effect of different energy inputs were examined. 8Detection of Babesia bovis in blood samples and its effect on the hematological and serum biochemical profile in large ruminants from Southern Punjab显示文摘Objective:To determine the presence of Babesia bovis(B.bovis)in large ruminants in southern Punjab and its effect on hematological and serum biochemical profile of host animals.Methods:Blood samples were collected from 144 large ruminants,including 105 cattle and 39 buffaloes,from six flistricts in southern Punjab including Multan,Layyali,Muzaffar Garh,Bhakar.Bahawalnagar and Vehari.Data on the characteristics of animals and herds were collected through questionnaires.Different blood(hemoglobin,glucose)and serum(ALT.AST,I.DH,cholesterol)parameters of calves and cattle were measured and compared between parasite positive and negative samples to demonstrate the effect of B.bovis on the blood and serological profile of infected animals.Results:27 out of 144 animals,from 5 out of 6 sampling districts,produced the541-bp fragment specific for B.bovis.Age of animals(P=0.02),presence of ticks on animals(P=0.04)and presence of ticks on dogs associated with herds(P=0.5)were among the major risk factors involved in the spread of bovine babesiosis in the study area.ALT concentrations were the only serum biochemical values that significantly varied between parasite positive and negative cattle.Conclusions:This study has reported for the first time the presence of B.bavis in large ruminant and the results can lead to the prevention of babesiosis in the region to increase the livestock output.Samreen Zulfiqar Sadia Shahnawaz Muhammad Ali Arif Mahmood Bhutta Shahid Iqbal Sikandar Hayat Shazia Qadir Muhammad Latif Nazia Kiran Ali Saeed Muhammad Ali Furhan Iqbal 2012Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2012,2,2:1

17大豆GmTIP1;1基因的克隆与表达分析显示文摘利用RT-PCR方法从大豆根部组织获得Glyma03g34310.1开放阅读框(ORF)全长,经测序验证、Blast比对与同源性分析发现该序列编码的蛋白质与其他植物的TIP1;1蛋白具有较高的相似性,故命名为GmTIP1;1基因(GenBank登录号为AK285481),该基因ORF长753bp,编码1个包含250个氨基酸的蛋白,在ORF内部第381个核苷酸处含有1个94bp的内含子,符合↓GT--AG↓的剪接方式;系统进化树分析发现GmTIP1;1聚类到豆科植物分支,其他不同科的植物也有规律地聚到了不同分支,推测该蛋白氨基酸序列可以作为植物分类的依据之一;半定量RT-PCR结果表明该基因在大豆的不同器官、不同器官的不同发育阶段均具较高且同等的表达水平,暗示该基因在植物的整个发育进程中均具重要作用;在盐胁迫的不同时间点其表达量有下降的趋势,但仍然保持较高的表达水平;以pYES2为酵母表达载体,转化酿酒酵母INVSc1菌株,获得重组酵母INVSc1(pYES2-GmTIP1;1),转化菌株在盐胁迫下的存活率明显高于对照INVSc1(pYES2),而在干旱胁迫下则没有显著差异,表明该基因的表达能有效地提高酵母的耐盐性。张大勇 胡国民 易金鑫 许玲 Ali ZULFIQAR 刘晓庆 袁玲玲 徐照龙 何晓兰 黄益洪 马鸿翔 2013作物学报2013,39,1:1

19Properties of single and multiple defect modes in one-dimensional photonic crystals containing left-handed metamaterials显示文摘Wave propagation is studied in structures consisting of alternate left- and right-handed layers.Bragg gap and zero-n gap appear in different frequency regions of the structure.The periodicity of the structure is broken by simply reversing the order of the layers in one half of the structure,resulting in defect modes located inside the zero-n gap and Bragg gap.These modes can be made very narrow by adding more layers in the structure.The defect mode located inside the zero-n gap is sensitive to the symmetry of the structure and insensitive to the angle of incidence of the incoming radiation.Multiple modes are also generated inside the gaps by repeating the structural pattern.Thus,a simple structure can be used for single and multiple modes that are important for different applications.Munazza Zulfiqar Ali 2012Chinese Optics Letters2012,10,7:1
20Anti-anxiety activity of successive extracts of angelica archangelica linn.on the elevated t-maze and forced swimming tests in rats显示文摘OBJECTIVE:Angelica archangelica Linn.is widely used in food and liquor preparations and also in Kashmiri folk medicine to reduce anxiety.We evaluated the anxiolytic effect of successive extracts of A.archangelica linn.(SAE) on rats tested in the elevated T-maze test(an animal model of generalized anxiety) at doses that exhibit antidepressant-like activity in humans.METHODS:A.archangelica(1 kg) was subjected to successive extraction in a soxhlet apparatus with solvents [petroleum ether(40-60℃),chloroform,ethyl acetate,methanol and decoction with water] in order of increasing polarity(yield:6.9%,7.3%,5.1%,11.88% and 8.2% w/w,respectively).SAE were evaluated for anxiolytic effects using the elevated T-maze and forced swimming tests in rats.RESULTS:Oral dosing of diazepam(1 mg/kg) and extracts(50,100 and 200 mg/kg) clearly showed an anxiolytic-like profile in the elevated T-maze test:it increased one-way escape and decreased inhibitory avoidance on the first,third and seventh day.In the forced swimming test,imipramine and SAE showed antidepressant-and anxiolytic-like effects as reflected by increased climbing time,swimming time and decreased immobility time on the first,third and seventh day.Aqueous and methanol extracts showed the most,petroleum ether(40-60℃) and chloroform intermediate,and ethyl acetate the least anxiolytic activity(*P<0.05,**P<0.01,***P< 0.001) in both models.CONCLUSIONS:These results suggest the anti-anxiety activity of various extracts of A.archangelica and strongly justify its use in traditional Indian medicine for the treatment of anxiety.Dinesh Kumar Zulfiqar Ali Bhat M.Y.Shah 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,3:1
