A Novel Hybrid Machine Learning Approach for Classification of Brain Tumor Images显示文摘Abnormal growth of brain tissues is the real cause of brain tumor.Strategy for the diagnosis of brain tumor at initial stages is one of the key step for saving the life of a patient. The manual segmentation of brain tumor magnetic resonance images(MRIs)takes time and results vary significantly in low-level features. To address this issue,we have proposed a ResNet-50 feature extractor depended on multilevel deep convolutional neural network(CNN)for reliable images segmentation by considering the low-level features of MRI.In this model,we have extracted features through ResNet-50 architecture and fed these feature maps to multi-level CNN model. To handle the classification process,we have collected a total number of 2043 MRI patients of normal, benign, and malignant tumor.Three model CNN,multi-level CNN,and ResNet-50 based multi-level CNN have been used for detection and classification of brain tumors. All the model results are calculated in terms of various numerical values identified as precision(P),recall(R),accuracy(Acc)and f1-score(F1-S).The obtained average results are much better as compared to already existing methods. This modified transfer learning architecture might help the radiologists and doctors as a better significant system for tumor diagnosis. | Abdullah A.Asiri Amna Iqbal Javed Ferzund Tariq Ali Muhammad Aamir Khalaf A.Alshamrani Hassan A.Alshamrani Fawaz F.Alqahtani Muhammad Irfan Ali H.D.Alshehri | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,10: | 0
Estimation of infiltration models parameters and their comparison to simulate the onsite soil infiltration characteristics显示文摘Detailed knowledge about soil characteristics and site-specific final steady infiltration rate could help to increase the irrigation water use efficiency and decrease water losses in agricultural system. The experiments were conducted on Agricultural Research Farm of Bahauddin Zakariya University,Multan,Pakistan during 2016.The cumulative infiltration depth was measured using double ring infiltrometer at selected six points of the study area. Most commonly used infiltration models such as Kostikov’s,Philip’s and Horton’s were fitted to the field infiltration data for determination of model parameters and to find the best fit model for the study area.Kostikov’s infiltration model’s parameters such as empirical constant‘c’and infiltration decay constants‘k’were obtained in the ranges of 0.140-0.290 and 0.307-0.433,respectively.Philip’s infiltration model’s parameters such as sorptivity‘S’and conductivity constant‘A’were found in the ranges of 0.167-0.288 cm/min1/2 and-0.001 to-0.009 cm/min,respectively.Similarly,the Horton’s model’s‘parameter‘k’was obtained in the range of-1.619 to-1.238.The value of infiltration capacity at onset of infiltration(fo)was obtained as 1.744 to 3.491 for all the six points. The analysis showed that the infiltration models using the estimated parameters have satisfactory prediction capability at all the selected points.Horton’s model provided the lowest mean values for RMSE(0.235)and highest mean values for ME(94%);and the lowest mean values for MPD(0.127).This indicated that infiltration can be well-described by the Horton’s model at the selected site. | Hafiz Umar Farid Zahid Mahmood-Khan Ijaz Ahmad Aamir Shakoor Muhammad Naveed Anjum Muhammad Mazhar Iqbal Muhammad Mubeen Muhammad Asghar | 2019 | International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,3: | 0

Drought Tolerance in Mung Bean is Associated with the Genotypic Divergence, Regulation of Proline, Photosynthetic Pigment and Water Relation显示文摘Drought is one of the critical conditions for the growth and productivity of many crops including mung bean(Vigna radiata L.Wilczek).Screening of genotypes for variations is one of the suitable strategies for evaluating crop adaptability and global food security. In this context, the study investigated the physiological and biochemical responses of four drought tolerant(BARI Mung-8,BMX-08010-2,BMX-010015,BMX-08009-7),and four drought sensitive(BARI Mung-1,BARI Mung-3,BU Mung-4,BMX-05001)mung bean genotypes under wellwatered(WW)and water deficit(WD)conditions. The WW treatment maintained sufficient soil moisture(22%±0.5%,i.e.,30%deficit of available water)by regularly supplying water.Whereas, the WD treatment was maintained throughout the growing period, and water was applied when the wilting symptom appeared. The drought tolerant(DT)genotypes BARI Mung-8,BMX-08010-2,BMX-010015,BMX-08009-7 showed a high level of proline accumulation(2.52–5.99 mg g^(−1) FW),photosynthetic pigment(total chlorophyll 2.96–3.27 mg g^(−1) FW at flowering stage, and 1.62–2.38 mg g^(−1) FW at pod developing stage),plant water relation attributes including relative water content(RWC)(82%–84%),water retention capacity(WRC)(12–14)as well as lower water saturation deficit(WSD)(19%–23%),and water uptake capacity(WUC)(2.58–2.89)under WD condition, which provided consequently higher relative seed yield. These indicate that the tolerant genotypes gained better physiobiochemical attributes and adaptability in response to drought conditions.Furthermore, the genotype BMX-08010-2 showed superiority in terms of those physio-biochemical traits, susceptibility index(SSI)and stress tolerance index(STI)to other genotypes.Based on the physiological and biochemical responses, the BMX-08010-2 was found to be a suitable genotype for sustaining yield under drought stress, and subsequently,it could be recommended for crop improvement through hybridization programs. In addition, the identified traits can be used as markers to identify tolerant genotypes for drought-prone areas. | Mohammad Rafiqul Islam Mohd Mostofa Kamal Mohammad Faruk Hossain Jamil Hossain Mohammad Golam Azam Mst Masuma Akhter MKamrul Hasan Ibrahim Al-Ashkar Khalid FAlmutairi Ayman EL Sabagh Md Atikur Rahman Muhammad Aamir Iqbal Mohammad Sohidul Islam | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,3: | 0
Recent Developments to Mitigate Selenium Deficiency in Agricultural Eco-Systems显示文摘Under changing climate, trace elements like selenium(Se)have emerged as vital constituent of agro-ecosystems enabling crop plants to off-set the adverse effects of suboptimal growth conditions. The available form of selenium is important for boosting its bioavailability to crop plants having varied agro-botanical traits and root architectural systems. As compared to selenite, the selenate has a weaker soil bonding, higher absorption in the soil solution which results in a comparatively absorption by plant roots.Various factors including dry climate, high pH,optimal ambient air temperature, less accumulation of water, and low concentration of organic matter in the soil tend to boost the selenate ratio in the soil. The use of selenium pelleted seeds has emerged as an interesting and viable alternative to alleviate selenium deficiency in agricultural eco-systems.Similarly,the co-inoculation of a mixture of Selenobacteria and Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi represents an evolving promising strategy for the bio-fortification of wheat plants to produce selenium-rich flour to supplement human dietary needs.Furthermore,in-depth research is required to assure the effectiveness of biological fertilization procedures in field conditions as well as to explore and increase our understanding pertaining to the underlying main mechanisms and channels of selenium absorption in plants. The focus of this review is to synthesize the recent developments on Se dynamics in soil-plant systems and emerging promising strategies to optimize its levels for crop plants.Recent developments regarding the use of micro-organisms as a biotechnological mean to enhance plant nutrition and crop quality have been objectively elaborated. The study becomes even more pertinent for arid and semi-arid agro-ecosystems owing to the potential role of selenium in providing stress tolerance to crop plants. Moreover, this review synthesizes and summarizes the recent developments on climate change and bioavailability, and the protective role of selenium in crop plants. | Misbah Naz Rubab Shabbir Krishan KVerma Anshu Rastogi Vishnu D.Rajput Talha Javed Muhammad Ammar Raza Kainat Asif Muhammad Aamir Iqbal Muhammad Imran Mohammad Sohidul Islam Khalid Rehman Hakeem MehmetFirat Baran Ayman EL Sabagh | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,5: | 0

Results: Coriander leaves-based sauce exerted more decline(P<0.05) in serum aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase levels in the study Ⅱ as 18.32%. 19.91% and 21.24%, respectively. While, hepatic superoxide dismutase and catalase levels were raised significantly(P<0.05) in both studies. Renal parameters also depicted positive impact by the provision of developed sauces. Conclusions: Coriander seeds and leaves based sauces are effective in alleviating the hepato/renal toxicity. The hepatoprotective effect of coriander leaves is more pronounced as compared to coriander seeds. | Muhammad Jawad Iqbal Masood Sadiq Butt Aamir Shehzad Muhammad Asghar | 2018 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2018,11,3: | 0 |
Seed Priming and Foliar Supplementation withβ-aminobutyric Acid Alleviates Drought Stress through Mitigation of Oxidative Stress and Enhancement of Antioxidant Defense in Linseed(Linum usitatissimum L.)显示文摘Drought is one of the critical limitations to agricultural soils and crop plants.Scarcity of water is increasing due to climate change that lead to increasing threats to global food security. Therefore, ecofriendly and cost effective strategies are highly desirable for mitigating drought stress along with sustainable and smart agricultural production. The aim of the study was to mitigate DS using seed priming and exogenous supplementation ofβ-aminobutyric acid(BABA)in linseed(Linum usitatissimum L.).Different doses(0,50,100 and 150μM)of BABA were used for seed priming agent and foliar spraying under three soil moisture levels viz.,25%(SM25),45%(SM45)and 65%(SM65).The response variables of both experiments included different agro-botanical traits and oxidative stress indicators such as melondialdehyde content, free proline accumulation, and antioxidant defense in plants. The linseed plants showed water stress at SM25 that reduced plant height, number of branches per plant, time taken to flower initiation and heading, and root and shoot dry weights.Additionally, the number of capsules and seeds per capsule showed a significant decline at SM25,which led to a drastic reduction in 100-seed weight yield in linseed plants in both experiments. However, seed priming and foliar supplementation with of BABA(50–100μM)significantly improved these morpho-agronomical attributes in linseed plants under DS.The results revealed that the BABA was fully active in linseed plants at SM25.Interestingly,the combination of SM25 with BABA significantly improved the antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase(SOD),catalase(CAT),ascorbate peroxidase(APX),and peroxidase(POD)activity, which significantly enhanced DS tolerance in linseed plants. These findings might be useful to oil seed breeders and farmers linseed for breeding program in linseed plants as well as sustainable agricultural production of oil seed crop plants. | Tauqeer Ahmad Yasir Muhammad Ateeq Allah Wasaya Mubshar Hussain Naeem Sarwar Khuram Mubeen Mudassir Aziz Muhammad Aamir Iqbal Chukwuma COgbaga Ibrahim Al-Ashkar Md Atikur Rahman Ayman El Sabagh | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,11: | 0
Genotypic Divergence, Photosynthetic Efficiency, Sodium Extrusion, and Osmoprotectant Regulation Conferred Salt Tolerance in Sorghum显示文摘Salt stress is one of the major limitations to modern agriculture that negatively influences plant growth and productivity.Salt tolerant cultivar can provide excellent solution to enhance stress tolerance with plantfitness to unfavorable environments. Therefore, this study was aimed to screen salt tolerant sorghum genotypes through evaluating of different morphological, biochemical, and physiological attributes in response to salinity stress. In this study,we have been evaluated total six sorghum genotypes including Hybrid sorgo,Debgiri,BD-703,BD-706,BD-707,and BD-725 under salt stress(12 dS m^(-1) NaCl).The response variables included length and weight of root and shoot, root:shoot ratio(RSR),photosynthesis(A),transpiration rate(E),elemental concen-trations(K^(+),Na^(+) and K^(+)/Na^(+)),photochemical efficiency of photosystem II(F_(v)/F_(m)),water use efficiency(WUE)and pigment content(chlorophyll a,and b).The results revealed that saline environment significantly reduced all response variables under study of sorghum genotypes, however,Hybrid sorgo remained unmatched by recording the maximum root and shoot traits. The same genotype recorded higher photosynthetic efficiency which was attributed to Na^(+) extrusion,K^(+) uptake and higher K^(+)/Na^(+) ratio(1.8 at stress),while these mechanisms were not fully active in rest of genotypes. Moreover, this study also implies the involvement of proline in imparting tolerance against saline environment in Hybrid sorgo genotype.Overall,BD-703 remained the most salt sensitive genotype as evident from the minimum morphological growth traits and the least biosynthesis of osmoprotectants.Thesefindings open new research avenues for salt stress alleviation by identifying elite salt-to-lerant genotypes of sorghum for breeding programs. | Ashaduzzaman Sagar Md.Sabibul Haque Md.Alamgir Hossain Md.Nesar Uddin Jannat E.Tajkia Md.Ashik Mia Toufika Hossain Shabi Md.Solaiman Ali Fakir Md.Abdul Kader Walid Soufan Md.Atikur Rahman Muhammad Aamir Iqbal Mohammad Sohidul Islam Ayman El Sabagh A.K.M.Zakir Hossain | 2023 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2023,92,8: | 0
