| 1 | Low efficacy of levofloxacin-doxycycline-based third-line triple therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication in Italy显示文摘AIM:To evaluate a levofloxacin-doxycycline-based triple therapy with or without a susceptibility culture test in non-responders to Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori) eradication.METHODS:A total of 142(99 women,43 men; mean 53.0 ± 12.7 years) non-responders to more than two H.pylori eradication therapies underwent susceptibility culture tests or were treated with a seven-day triple therapy consisting of esomeprazole,20 mg b.i.d.,levofloxacin,500 mg b.i.d.,and doxycycline,100 mg b.i.d.,randomly associated with(n = 71) or without(n = 71) Lactobacillus casei DG.H.pylori status was checked in all patients at enrollment and at least 8 wk after the end of therapy.Compliance and tolerability of regimens were also assessed.RESULTS:H.pylori eradication was achieved in < 50% of patients [per prototol(PP) = 49%; intention to treat(ITT) = 46%].Eradication rate was higher in patients administered probiotics than in those without(PP = 55% vs 43%; ITT = 54% vs 40%).Estimated primary resistance to levofloxacin was 18% and multiple resistance was 31%.Therapy was well tolerated,and side effects were generally mild,with only one patient experiencing severe effects.CONCLUSION:Third-line levofloxacin-doxycycline triple therapy had a low H.pylori eradication efficacy,though the success and tolerability of this treatment may be enhanced with probiotics. | Omero Alessandro Paoluzi Giovanna Del Vecchio Blanco Emanuela Visconti Manuela Coppola Carla Fontana Marco Favaro Francesco Pallone | 2015 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2015，21，21： | 5 |

| 4 | Ultralong and Mesoporous ZnO and γ-Al_2O_3 Oriented Nanowires Obtained by Template-assisted Hydrothermal Approach显示文摘Highly mesoporous Zn O and g-Al2O3nanowires(NWs) are both synthesized by a hydrothermal method using commercially available porous anodic aluminium oxide(AAO) as template. AAO membrane acts as template for Zn O NWs and both as template and precursor for g-Al2O3 NWs. The formation of intermediate phases of porous Zn6Al2(OH)16CO3and boehmite(g-Al OOH) were observed, both occurring during the hydrothermal synthesis of porous Zn O and g-Al2O3 NWs, respectively, and disappearing after annealing at 600 C. This novel template-assisted hydrothermal process leads to the formation of porous Zn O and g-Al2O3NWs(specific surface area of 192 m2 g 1and 263 m2 g 1, respectively), showing pore sizes around 4 nm in diameter. The influence of the reaction parameters on the nanostructure morphology was also investigated. | 8 | Assessment of autonomic function in untreated adult coeliac disease显示文摘AIM: Some recent studies showed that alteration of upper-gut motility in coeliac disease may be related to dysfunction of autonomic nervous system. The aim of our study was to investigate whether autonomic nervous system was altered in untreated and unselected coeliac disease patients.METHODS: We studied 8 untreated and consecutive coeliac disease patients (2 males and 6 females, age range 37±14.5 years). Histological evaluation of duodenal mucosa, anti-gliadin antibodies (AGA), antiendomysial antibodies (EMA) and anti-tTG antibodies and sorbitol H2 breath test were performed in all patients. Extrinsic autonomic neuropathy was assessed by the standardized measurement of cardiovascular reflexes (lying-to-standing,Valsalva manoeuvre, deep breathing, sustained handgrip).The results obtained were compared with a healthy,asymptomatic control group (6 males and 7females, age range 42.3±13.5 years).RESULTS: Coeliac patients exhibited a lower increase of PAS as a response to isometric effort, a reduction of spectral power LF as a response to clinostatic position,but without statistical significance. Also they showed a lower tolerance to orthostatic position, associated with a latent disequilibrium of sympathetic-vagal balance, a relative prevalence of parasympathetic component of the autonomic function. However, these results were not statistically significant when compared with control group(P = n.s.). | 13 | Correlation between impedance spectroscopy and bubble-induced mass transport in the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide显示文摘In the electrochemical conversion of carbon dioxide, high currents need to be employed to obtain large production rates, thus implying that mass transport of reactants and products is of crucial importance.This aspect can be investigated by employing a model that depicts the local environment for the reduction reactions. Simultaneously, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, despite being a versatile technique, has rarely been adopted for studying the mass transport features during the carbon dioxide(CO_(2))electroreduction. In this work, this aspect is deeply analyzed by correlating the results of impedance spectroscopy characterization with those obtained by a bubble-induced mass transport modeling under controlled diffusion conditions on a gold rotating disk electrode. The effects of potential and rotation rate on the local environment are also clarified. In particular, it has been found that CO_(2) depletion occurs at high kinetics when the rotation is absent, giving rise to an increment of the competing hydrogen evolution reaction. | 14 | Ethylene-auxin crosstalk regulates postharvest fruit ripening process in apple显示文摘The ripening of climacteric fruits,such as apple,is represented by a series of genetically programmed events orchestrated by the action of several hormones.In this study,we investigated the existence of a hormonal crosstalk between ethylene and auxin during the post-harvest ripening of three internationally known apple cultivars:‘Golden Delicious',‘Granny Smith'and‘Fuji'.The normal climacteric ripening was impaired by the exogenous application of 1-methylcyclopropene(1-MCP)that affected the production of ethylene and the physiological behaviour of specific ethylene-related quality traits,such as fruit texture and the production of volatile organic compounds.The application of 1-MCP induced,moreover,a de-novo accumulation of auxin.The RNA-Seq wide-transcriptome analysis evidenced as the competition at the level of the ethylene receptors induced a cultivar-dependent transcriptional re-programming.The DEGs annotation carried out through the KEGG database identified as most genes were assigned to the plant hormone signaling transduction category,and specifically related to auxin and ethylene.The interplay between these two hormones was further assessed through a candidate gene analysis that highlighted a specific activation of GH3 and ILL genes,encoding key steps in the process of the auxin homeostasis mechanism.Our results showed that a compromised ethylene metabolism at the onset of the climacteric ripening in apple can stimulate,in a cultivar-dependent fashion,an initial de-novo synthesis and de-conjugation of auxin as a tentative to restore a normal ripening progression. | Nicola Busatto Alice Tadiello Marco Moretto Brian Farneti Francesca Populin Urska Vrhovsek Mauro Commisso Elisa Sartori Paolo Sonego Franco Biasioli Guglielmo Costa Flavia Guzzo Paolo Fontana Kristof Engelen Fabrizio Costa | 2021 | Fruit Research2021，1，1： | 0 |
