| 2 | Overexpression of the maize GRF10, an endogenous truncated growth-regulating factor protein, leads to reduction in leaf size and plant height显示文摘It has long been thought that growth‐regulating factors(GRFs) gene family members act as transcriptional activators to play important roles in multiple plant developmental processes. However, the recent characterization of Arabidopsis GRF7 showed that it functions as a transcriptional repressor of osmotic stress‐responsive genes. This highlights the complex and diverse mechanisms by which different GRF members use to take action. In this study, the maize(Zea mays L.) GRF10 was functionally characterized to improve this concept. The deduced ZmGRF10 protein retains the N‐terminal QLQ and WRC domains, the characteristic regions as protein‐interacting and DNA‐binding domains, respectively. However,it lacks nearly the entire C‐terminal domain, the regions executing transactivation activity. Consistently, ZmGRF10 protein maintains the ability to interact with GRF‐interacting factors(GIFs) proteins, but lacks transactivation activity.Overexpression of ZmGRF10 in maize led to a reduction in leaf size and plant height through decreasing cell proliferation,whereas the yield‐related traits were not affected. Transcriptome analysis revealed that multiple biological pathways were affected by ZmGRF10 overexpression, including a few transcriptional regulatory genes, which have been demonstrated to have important roles in controlling plant growth and development. | 3 | Investigation on MoS_2 and Graphite Coatings and Their Effects on the Tribological Properties of the Radial Spherical Plain Bearings显示文摘With constant enlargement of the application areas of the spherical plain bearings,higher quality lubrication of the bearings is required.To solve the lubricating problems of spherical plain bearings under high temperature,high vacuum,high speed,heavy loads and strong oxidation conditions,it is urgent for us to develop more excellent self-lubricating technologies.In this paper,the bonded solid lubricant coatings,which use inorganic phosphate as the binder,the mixture of MoS_2 and graphite with two different weight proportions as the solid lubricant,are prepared by spraying under three different spray gun pressures.The bonding strength tests on the coatings show that the best spraying pressure is 0.2 MPa and the better mixing proportion of MoS_2 to Graphite is 3:1.Then for the radial spherical plain bearings with steel/steel friction pair,after the coatings are made on the inner ring outer surfaces,the friction coefficient,the wear loss and the friction temperature of the bearings under four oscillating frequencies are investigated by a self-made tribo-tester.The test results,SEM of the worn morphologies and EDS of worn areas show that tribological properties of the bearing are obviously improved by the bonded solid lubricant coatings.When sprayed under the spray gun pressure of 0.2 MPa,the bearings have better anti-friction and anti-wear properties than those sprayed under 0.1 MPa and 0.3 MPa.Further as proved from the XPS analysis,between the coating with 3:1 mixing ratio of MoS_2 to Graphite and the coating with 1:1 ratio,the former has less oxidation occurred on the surface and therefore has better tribological characteristics than the latter.This paper provides a reference to developing a new product of the radial spherical plain bearings with high bonding strength,oxidation resistance and abrasion resistance. | QIU Ming LU Jianjun LI Yingchun LV Guisen | 2016 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2016,29,4: | 8 |
| 4 | Generative adversarial networks (GAN) based efficient sampling of chemical composition space for inverse design of inorganic materials显示文摘A major challenge in materials design is how to efficiently search the vast chemical design space to find the materials with desired properties.One effective strategy is to develop sampling algorithms that can exploit both explicit chemical knowledge and implicit composition rules embodied in the large materials database.Here,we propose a generative machine learning model(MatGAN)based on a generative adversarial network(GAN)for efficient generation of new hypothetical inorganic materials.Trained with materials from the ICSD database,our GAN model can generate hypothetical materials not existing in the training dataset,reaching a novelty of 92.53% when generating 2 million samples.The percentage of chemically valid(charge-neutral and electronegativitybalanced)samples out of all generated ones reaches 84.5% when generated by our GAN trained with such samples screened from ICSD,even though no such chemical rules are explicitly enforced in our GAN model,indicating its capability to learn implicit chemical composition rules to form compounds.Our algorithm is expected to be used to greatly expand the range of the design space for inverse design and large-scale computational screening of inorganic materials. | Yabo Dan Yong Zhao Xiang Li Shaobo Li Ming Hu Jianjun Hu | 2020 | npj Computational Materials2020,,1: | 5 |
| 5 | Sand-fixing characteristics of Carex brunnescens and its application with straw checkerboard technique in restoration of degraded alpine meadows显示文摘Carex brunnescens(Pers.), a typical clonal species, is considered to be the only herb found to date that can develop on sand dunes in Maqu alpine region of northwestern China. However, the characteristics that C. brunnescens resists to harsh alpine environment have not been documented. In this study, we conducted a field investigation to determine the morphological, reproductive, and sand-fixing characteristics of C. brunnescens. Concomitantly, we transplanted the belowground rhizomes of C. brunnescens to sand dunes and compared the abilities to restore degraded alpine meadows among sand dunes that had no further treatment(SD+N), sand dunes that had straw checkerboard technique but no transplanted rhizomes of C. brunnescens(SD+SCT), and sand dunes that had both SCT and transplanted rhizomes of C. brunnescens(SD+SCT+P). We found that belowground vertical rhizomes and horizontal rhizomes(including branching rhizomes and main rhizomes) of C. brunnescens were highly developed and that population reproduction was dominated by horizontal rhizomes. C. brunnescens exhibited a significant sand-fixation effect under following conditions: population density was 145–156 ramets/m^2, vegetation cover was 31.2%–39.3%, total length of belowground rhizomes was 11,223 cm/m^2, total length of belowground first-order roots was 9161–10,524 cm/m^2, fresh weight of aboveground part was 198.5–212.6 g/m^2, and fresh weight of belowground part was 578.8–612.4 g/m^2. It should be particularly noted that SD+SCT+P treatment(sand dunes that had both straw checkerboard technique and transplanted rhizomes of C. brunnescens) was the best and SD+N(sand dunes that had no further treatment) was the worst in terms of following biotic indicators: total number of reproductive ramets, total number of belowground rhizomes, and fresh weight of aboveground and belowground parts of C. brunnescens, contents of soil organic carbon, available nitrogen, microbial biomass carbon, and microbial biomass nitrogen. It implies that applying SCT in sand dunes and transplanting belowground rhizomes to sand dunes with SCT could improve both soil fertility and growth of C. brunnescens. | 6 | Impact of Meteorological Drought on Streamflow Drought in Jinghe River Basin of China显示文摘Under global climate change, drought has become one of the most serious natural hazards, affecting the ecological environment and human life. Drought can be categorized as meteorological, agricultural, hydrological or socio-economic drought. Among the different categories of drought, hydrological drought, especially streamflow drought, has been given more attention by local governments, researchers and the public in recent years. Identifying the occurrence of streamflow drought and issuing early warning can provide timely information for effective water resources management. In this study, streamflow drought is detected by using the Standardized Runoff Index, whereas meteorological drought is detected by the Standardized Precipitation Index. Comparative analyses of frequency, magnitude, onset and duration are conducted to identify the impact of meteorological drought on streamflow drought. This study focuses on the Jinghe River Basin in Northwest China, mainly providing the following findings. 1) Eleven meteorological droughts and six streamflow droughts were indicated during 1970 and 1990 after pooling using Inter-event time and volume Criterion method. 2) Streamflow drought in the Jinghe River Basin lagged meteorological drought for about 127 days. 3) The frequency of streamflow drought in Jinghe River Basin was less than meteorological drought. However, the average duration of streamflow drought is longer. 4) The magnitude of streamflow drought is greater than meteorological drought. | 7 | The type, position and age effect on the cutting reproduction of Picea crassifolia and its rooting mechanism in the Qilian Mountains显示文摘Picea crassifolia Kom, a perennial arbor species is recognized as one of the most adaptable plants found to date in Qilian Mountains. To explore the cutting reproduction technology of P. crassifolia and reveal its rooting mechanism, cuttings of P. crassifolia with different cutting types(softwood, hardwood and root), positions(top, upper, middle and bottom) and ages(7, 10, 15, 20,25 year-old) were cultivated in a field experiment. Oneyear old softwood and hardwood cuttings were collected from 7-, 10-, 15-, 20-, and 25 year-old healthy ortets to analyze the changes from endogenous hormones and organic nutrients. Results indicate that the softwood cuttings(0.5–1.0 cm in diameter) from upper branches of15 year-old ortets shows better growth performance by improving rooting indexes, including a significant increase in rooting rate and a decrease in basal rot rate. Concomitantly, increasing rooting quantity and root length also increased. It is noteworthy that the high rooting rate of P.crassifolia cuttings due to its ability to accumulate high concentrations of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA) and total carbon(TC) rather than abscisic acid(ABA) and total nitrogen(TN). The rooting rate was mainly regulated by the IAA/ABA and TC/TN ratio. Following GPS and GLONASS, Europe and China have been building their own global navigation satellite system, respectively, GALILEO and Compass. In order to consolidate the leadership of GPS in the globe, United States is gradually upgrading the traditional GPS. Simultaneously, Russia is also intensively restoring full performance of GLONASS. With the advancement of international satellite navigation system, satellite navigation frequency resources are already in short supply, and the design and use of the navigation signals are more sophisticated and complex due to commercial, disaster relief and other reasons. Since there may be many navigation signals in the same basic bandwidth, the coexistence of multiple systems and the combined application make intersystem mutual interference become the focus research. Under this background, the satellite navigation system mutual interference evaluation system needs to be established urgently to meet and support the compatibility and interoperability of the GNSS system. | 9 | Novel smart supramolecular metallo-hydrogel that could selectively recognize and effectively remove Pb^(2+) in aqueous solution显示文摘A series of novel and simple ligands based on a biscarboxyl-functionalized benzimidazole derivative were synthesized.The experiments showed that the ligand L2 as a low molecular weight(LMW) hydrogelator could form stable metallo-hydrogels in the presence of up to 0.3 equiv.of lead ions.The metallo-hydrogels were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and Fourier transform infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic techniques.When the molar ratio of L2:Pb2+ was in the range of 1:0.3 to 1:0.5 a translucent gel was produced.When the L2:Pb2+ molar ratio was higher than 1:0.5 the resulting gel tended to be opaque.The morphologies of these metallo-hydrogels were L2/Pb ratio dependent,ranging from worm-like to rod-shaped and nanofibrous.The FT-IR and X-ray diffraction(XRD) studies revealed that L2-Pb complexation was the main driving force for the formation of the metallo-hydrogels.In addition,these metallo-hydrogels exhibited outstanding thermostability and thermoreversibility,and displayed a reversible sol-gel transition induced by changes in pH and EDTA concentration.Importantly,ligand L2 showed an excellent capacity for the removal of Pb 2+ in aqueous solution through the formation of metallo-hydrogels.At a L2:Pb molar ratio of 1:0.5 and below,the concentration of residual Pb2+ was as low as 7.6×10-5 mol/L in aqueous solution,and the removal ratio was as high as 95.4%.These results demonstrate that multi-channel responsive smart metallo-hydrogels have the potential to be widely applied in materials science,and might provide the basis for lead pollution capture and removal. | WEI TaiBao DANG JianPeng LIN Qi YAO Hong LIU Yong ZHANG WanQiang MING JianJun ZHANG YouMing | 2012 | Science China Chemistry2012,55,12: | 3 |

| 12 | Glutamine,glutamate,and aspartate differently modulate energy homeostasis of small intestine under normal or low energy status in piglets显示文摘Weaning stress may cause reduced energy intake for maintenance of mucosal structure.Gln,Glu,and Asp are major energy sources for the small intestine.This study investigated whether Gln,Glu,and Asp improve the intestinal morphology via regulating the energy metabolism in weaning piglets.A total of 198 weaned piglets were assigned to 3 treatments:Control(Basal diet+1.59%L-Ala);T1(Basal diet+1%L-Gln+0.5%L-Glu+0.1%L-Asp);T2(Low energy diet+1%L-Gln+0.5%L-Glu+0.1%L-Asp).Jejunum and ileum were obtained on d 5 or 21 post-weaning.T1 enhanced growth performance.T1 and T2 treatments improved small intestinal morphology by increasing villus height,goblet cell number and decreasing crypt depth.Days post-weaning affected the efficacy of T2,but not T1,on energy metabolism.At normal energy supplementation,Gln,Glu,and Asp restored small intestinal energy homeostasis via replenishing the Krebs'cycle and down-regulating the AMPK(adenosine monophosphate activated protein kinase)pathway.As these are not sufficient to maintain the intestinal energy-balance of piglets fed with a low energy diet on d 5 post-weaning,the AMPK,glycolysis,beta-oxidation,and mitochondrial biogenesis are activated to meet the high energy demand of enterocytes.These data indicated that Gln,Glu,and Asp could restore the energy homeostasis of intestinal mucosa of weaning piglets under normal energy fed.Low energy feeding may increase the susceptibility of piglets to stress,which may decrease the efficacy of Gln,Glu,and Asp on the restoration of energy balance.These findings provide new information on nutritional intervention for insufficient energy intake in weaning piglets. | Jing Wang Nan Wang Ming Qi Jianjun Li Bie Tan | 2022 | Animal Nutrition2022,,1: | 2 |
| 13 | Synthesis of AgGa1-xInxSe2 Polycrystalline Materials显示文摘AgGa1-xInxSe2 polycrystals were synthesized by the method of mechanical oscillation and temperature oscillation. X-ray diffraction spectra of polycrystal powder are conformable with the JCPDS cards. Lattice constants a and c calculated from the XRD were found to obey Vegard's law. The melting point of AgGa0.8In0.2Se2 obtained by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is 796.53 ℃. The DSC curve also show that there are no other transformation points below the melting point. | 15 | Investigation on and industrial application of degrading of methanol feed in methanol to propylene process显示文摘At present, methanol to propylene(MTP) technology developed by Lurgi Company is adopted for commercial plants and refined methanol with the purity ≥99.85 wt% is required as the feed of MTP unit in Lurgi's technology.Therefore, high energy cost for refined methanol production is one of the bottlenecks to improve the economy of MTP technology. Reducing the grade of feed refined methanol may be an effective method to save energy and reduce operation costs in MTP process. In this work, experiments and process simulation were carried out to investigate the influence and feasibility of degrading the methanol feed. Experiments were conducted to investigate the influence of crude methanol feed on conversion and selectivity of MTP reaction as well as the performance of ZSM-5 catalyst. The experimental results showed that degrading the methanol feed had no obvious influence on the conversion and selectivity of MTP reactions and the catalyst deactivation was caused by the carbon accumulation and metals deposition on the active sites. The process simulation results showed that the influence on the conversion and selectivity as well as the stream load of MTP process was negligible if 98 mol% methanol was used as feed. Finally, industrial experiments were conducted by adjusting the operation parameters to degrade of feed methanol of the commercial 500 kt·a^(-1) MTP unit of Ningmei Group in China. The results of industrial application illustrated that annually 180 kt fuel coal and 150 kt desalted water as well as 1770 MW·h^(-1) electricity would be saved when the water content increased from 0.01% to 0.4%.
