1A novel STING agonist-adjuvanted pan-sarbecovirus vaccine elicits potent and durable neutralizing antibody and T cell responses in mice,rabbits and NHPs显示文摘The emergence of SARS-CoV-2 variants and potentially other highly pathogenic sarbecoviruses in the future highlights the need for pan-sarbecovirus vaccines.Here,we discovered a new STING agonist,CF501,and found that CF501-adjuvanted RBD-FC vaccine(CF501/RBD-FC)elicited significantly stronger neutralizing antibody(nAb)and T cell responses than Alum-and cGAMP-adjuvanted RBD-FC in mice.Vaccination of rabbits and rhesus macaques(nonhuman primates,NHPs)with CF501/RBD-FC elicited exceptionally potent nAb responses against SARS-CoV-2 and its nine variants and 41 S-mutants,SARS-CoV and bat SARSr-CoVs.CF501/RBD-FC-immunized hACE2-transgenic mice were almost completely protected against SARS-CoV-2 challenge,even 6 months after the initial immunization.NHPs immunized with a single dose of CF501/RBD-FC produced high titers of nAbs.The immunized macaques also exhibited durable humoral and cellular immune responses and showed remarkably reduced viral load in the upper and lower airways upon SARS-CoV-2 challenge even at 108 days post the final immunization.Thus,CF501/RBD-Fc can be further developed as a novel pan-sarbecovirus vaccine to combat current and future outbreaks of sarbecovirus diseases.Zezhong Liu Jie Zhou Wei Xu Wei Deng Yanqun Wang Meiyu Wang Qian Wang Ming Hsieh Jingming Dong Xinling Wang Weijin Huang Lixiao Xing Miaoling He Chunlin Tao Youhua Xie Yilong Zhang Youchun Wang Jincun Zhao Zhenghong Yuan Chuan Qin Shibo Jiang Lu Lu 2022Cell Research2022,32,3:5
2North Pacific Eastern Subtropical Mode Water simulation and future projection显示文摘The present climate simulation and future projection of the Eastern Subtropical Mode Water(ESTMW) in the North Pacific are investigated based on the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory Earth System Model(GFDL-ESM2M). Spatial patterns of the mixed layer depth(MLD) in the eastern subtropical North Pacific and the ESTMW are well simulated using this model. Compared with historical simulation, the ESTMW is produced at lighter isopycnal surfaces and its total volume is decreased in the RCP8.5 runs, because the subduction rate of the ESTMW decreases by 0.82×10-6 m/s during February–March. In addition, it is found that the lateral induction decreasing is approximately four times more than the Ekman pumping, and thus it plays a dominant role in the decreased subduction rate associated with global warming. Moreover, the MLD during February–March is banded shoaling in response to global warming, extending northeastward from the east of the Hawaii Islands(20°N, 155°W) to the west coast of North America(30°N, 125°W), with a maximum shoaling of 50 m, and then leads to the lateral induction reduction. Meanwhile, the increased northeastward surface warm current to the east of Hawaii helps strengthen of the local upper ocean stratification and induces the banded shoaling MLD under warmer climate. 3A highly potent and stable pan-coronavirus fusion inhibitor as a candidate prophylactic and therapeutic for COVID-19 and other coronavirus diseases显示文摘The development of broad-spectrum antivirals against human coronaviruses(HCoVs)is critical to combat the current coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)and its variants,as well as future outbreaks of emerging CoVs.We have previously identified a polyethylene glycol-conjugated(PEGylated)lipopeptide,EK1C4,with potent pan-CoV fusion inhibitory activity.However,PEG linkers in peptide or protein drugs may reduce stability or induce anti-PEG antibodies in vivo.Therefore,we herein report the design and synthesis of a series of dePEGylated lipopeptide-based pan-CoV fusion inhibitors featuring the replacement of the PEG linker with amino acids in the heptad repeat 2 C-terminal fragment(HR2-CF)of HCoV-OC43.Among these lipopeptides,EKL1C showed the most potent inhibitory activity against infection by SARS-CoV-2 and its spike(S)mutants,as well as other HCoVs and some bat SARS-related coronaviruses(SARSr-CoVs)tested.The dePEGylated lipopeptide EKL1C exhibited significantly stronger resistance to proteolytic enzymes,better metabolic stability in mouse serum,higher thermostability than the PEGylated lipopeptide EK1C4,suggesting that EKL1C could be further developed as a candidate prophylactic and therapeutic for COVID-19 and other coronavirus diseases.Jie Zhou Wei Xu Zezhong Liu Chao Wang Shuai Xia Qiaoshuai Lan Yanxing Cai Shan Su Jing Pu Lixiao Xing Youhua Xie Lu Lu Shibo Jiang Qian Wang 2022Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2022,12,4:5
4Correlation of Leaf and Root Senescence During Ripening in Dry Seeded and Transplanted Rice显示文摘Dry seeding is a resource-saving rice establishment method. With an equivalent yield, dry seeded flooded rice(DSR) has been considered as a replacement for traditional transplanted flooded rice(TFR). However, the differences in leaf and root senescence during grain filling between DSR and TFR were seldom identified. In this study, the root length, root tip number and leaf senescence of rice varieties Huanghuazhan and Yangliangyou 6 during ripening were compared between DSR and TFR. Results showed that top three leaves in DSR had the characteristics of relatively lower SPAD value, lower N content and premature leaf senescence. In addition, both the total root length and total root tip number of DSR were significantly lower than those of TFR. In conclusion, premature and quick leaf senescence was related with inadequate root length and root tip number during ripening, which might result from the deficiency of nitrogen supply in DSR. 5Response of Mode Water and Subtropical Countercurrent to Greenhouse Gas and Aerosol Forcing in the North Pacific显示文摘The response of the North Pacific Subtropical Mode Water and Subtropical Countercurrent (STCC) to changes in greenhouse gas (GHG) and aerosol is investigated based on the 20th-century historical and single-forcing simulations with the Geo-physical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory Climate Model version 3 (GFDL CM3). The aerosol effect causes sea surface temperature (SST) to decrease in the mid-latitude North Pacific, especially in the Kuroshio Extension region, during the past five decades (1950-2005), and this cooling effect exceeds the warming effect by the GHG increase. The STCC response to the GHG and aerosol forcing are opposite. In the GHG (aerosol) forcing run, the STCC decelerates (accelerates) due to the decreased (increased) mode waters in the North Pacific, resulting from a weaker (stronger) front in the mixed layer depth and decreased (increased) subduction in the mode water formation region. The aerosol effect on the SST, mode waters and STCC more than offsets the GHG effect. 7Fast and Slow Responses of the North Pacific Mode Water and Subtropical Countercurrent to Global Warming显示文摘Six coupled general circulation models from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5 (CMIP5) are em-ployed for examining the full evolution of the North Pacific mode water and Subtropical Countercurrent (STCC) under global warming over 400 years following the Representative Concentration Pathways (RCP) 4.5. The mode water and STCC first show a sharp weakening trend when the radiative forcing increases, but then reverse to a slow strengthening trend of smaller magnitude after the radiative forcing is stablized. As the radiative forcing increases during the 21st century, the ocean warming is surface-intensified and decreases with depth, strengthening the upper ocean's stratification and becoming unfavorable for the mode water formation. Moving southward in the subtropical gyre, the shrinking mode water decelerates the STCC to the south. After the radiative forcing is stabilized in the 2070s, the subsequent warming is greater at the subsurface than at the sea surface, destabilizing the upper ocean and becoming favorable for the mode water formation. 11Nonlinear Modeling and Identification of Structural Joint by Response Control Vibration Test显示文摘Components of mechanical product are assembled by structural joints,such as bolting,riveting,welding,etc.Structural joints introduce nonlinearity to some engineering structures,and the nonlinearity need to be modeled precisely.To meet serious quality requirements,it is necessary to detect and identify nonlinearity of mechanical products for structural optimization.Modal test to acquire a dynamic response has been applied for decades,which provides reliable results for finite element(FE)model updating.Here response control vibration test for identification of nonlinearity is presented.A nonlinear system can be regarded as linearity for particular steady state response,and classical linear analysis tool is applicable to extract modal data for particular response.First,its applicability is illustrated by some numerical simulations.Subsequently,it is implemented on experimental setup with structural joints by shaking table.The stiffness and damping function dependent of relative displacement are fitted to describe its inherent nonlinearity.The spring and damping forces are identified by harmonic balance method(HBM)to predict output response.Based on the identified results,the procedure is recommended that it allows a reliable measurement of nonlinearity with a certain accuracy.LIU Xin WANG Lixiao CHEN Qidong SUN Beibei 2019Transactions of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics2019,36,6:1

14NASICONs-type solid-state electrolytes:The history,physicochemical properties,and challenges显示文摘Solid-state electrolytes are critical for the development of next-generation high-energy and high-safety rechargeable batteries.Among all the candidates,sodium(Na)superionic conductors(NASICONs)are highly promising because of their evident advantages in high ionic conductivity and high chemical/electrochemical stability.The concept of NASICONs was proposed by Hong and Goodenough et al.in 1976 by reporting the synthesis and characterization of Na1+xZr2(SixP3−x)O12(0≤x≤3),which has attracted tremendous attention on the NASICONs-type solid-state electrolytes.In this review,we are committed to describing the development history of NASICONs-type solid-state electrolytes and elucidating the contribution of Goodenough as a tribute to him.We summarize the correlations and differences between lithium-based and sodium-based NASICONs electrolytes,such as their preparation methods,structures,ionic conductivities,and the mechanisms of ion transportation.Critical challenges of NASICONs-structured electrolytes are discussed,and several research directions are proposed to tackle the obstacles toward practical applications.Lixiao Zhang Yimeng Liu Ya You Ajayan Vinu Liqiang Mai 2023Interdisciplinary Materials2023,2,1:1
15Comparative Analysis of Proanthocyanidins and Polysaccharides on Wild Lycium ruthenicum显示文摘[Objectives] To compare content of proanthocyanidins and polysaccharides in wild Lycium ruthenicum. [Methods] The wild L. ruthenicum collected from different regions such as Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia and Gansu Province were taken as the research objects. The conventional indicators such as proanthocyanidins and polysaccharides of the experimental materials were determined, and the proanthocyanidins and polysaccharides of the experimental materials in different regions were compared and analyzed. The difference in content and correlation, and the cluster analysis method were used to divide clusters of the experimental materials. [Results] The absorbance of proanthocyanidins in the fruit of wild L. ruthenicum was No.4>No.1>No.5>No.6>No.3>No.2, among which the absorbance of anthocyanin(2.43) of wild L. ruthenicum variety No.4 was significantly higher than other experimental materials(P<0.05), and proanthocyanidin of No.2 had the lowest absorbance value of 1.35. There was no significant difference between No.3 and No.6(P>0.05), and there were significant differences among other experimental materials(P<0.05). The content of polysaccharides was: No.3>No.7>No.2>No.4>No.5>No.6>No.1; there was no significant difference between No.3 and No.7(P>0.05), but significantly higher than other materials(P<0.05). Besides, proanthocyanidins and polysaccharides showed significant variability, but there was no consistency in the correlation between them. [Conclusions] In terms of the absorbance of proanthocyanidins, the experimental materials No.1 and No.4 can be classified into a cluster; experimental materials No.2, No.3, No.5 and No.6 can be classified into another cluster. 17Delay-CJ:A novel cryptojacking covert attack method based on delayed strategy and its detection显示文摘Cryptojacking is a type of resource embezzlement attack,wherein an attacker secretly executes the cryptocurrency mining program in the target host to gain profits.It has been common since 2017,and in fact,it once became the greatest threat to network security.To better prove the attack ability the harm caused by cryptojacking,this paper proposes a new covert browser-based mining attack model named Delay-CJ,this model was deployed in a simulation environment for evaluation.Based on the general framework of cryptojacking,Delay-CJ adds hybrid evasion detection techniques and applies the delayed execution strategy specifically for video websites in the prototype implementation.The results show that the existing detection methods used for testing may become invalid as result of this model.In view of this situation,to achieve a more general and robust detection scheme,we built a cryptojacking detection system named CJDetector,which is based on cryptojacking process features.Specifically,it identifies malicious mining by monitoring CPU usage and analyzing the function call information.This system not only effectively detects the attack in our example but also has universal applicability.The recognition accuracy of CJDetector reaches 99.33%.Finally,we tested the web pages in Alexa 50K websites to investigate cryptojacking activity in the real network.We found that although cryptojacking is indeed on the decline,it remains a part of network security threats that cannot be ignored.Guangquan Xu Wenyu Dong Jun Xing Wenqing Lei Jian Liu Lixiao Gong Meiqi Feng Xi Zheng Shaoying Liu 2023Digital Communications and Networks2023,9,5:0
18Changes in Mixed Layer Depth and Spring Bloom in the Kuroshio Extension under Global Warming显示文摘The mixed layer is deep in January–April in the Kuroshio Extension region. This paper investigates the response in this region of mixed layer depth(MLD) and the spring bloom initiation to global warming using the output of 15 models from CMIP5. The models indicate that in the late 21 st century the mixed layer will shoal, and the MLD reduction will be most pronounced in spring at about 33?N on the southern edge of the present deep-MLD region. The advection of temperature change in the upper 100 m by the mean eastward flow explains the spatial pattern of MLD shoaling in the models. 19Enhancing the green efficiency of fundamental sectors in China’s industrial system:A spatial-temporal analysis显示文摘Due to sectoral interactions in the economy,the overall green efficiency(GE)of China’s industrial system relies heavily on fundamental sectors that contribute substantial energy to the supply chain production of other sectors but shows low sectoral GE.For the three fundamental sectors in China’s industrial systems,namely the smelting and pressing of nonferrous metals(SPNFM),the processing of petroleum,coking,and nuclear fuel(PPCNF);and the manufacturing of nonmetallic mineral products(MNMMP),we employed a three-stage data envelopment analysis(DEA)model to measure GE in the fundamental sectors in 30 provinces from 2010 to 2015.We then adopted a stochastic frontier analysis(SFA)model to evaluate the influence of technological innovation(TI),industrial agglomeration(IA),environmental regulation(ER),and intraindustry competition(IC).The results showed that GE in the three fundamental sectors varied spatially.Specifically,TI promoted GE in MNMMP,but the effect was not obvious in the SPNFM and PPCNF sectors.Moreover,ER had positive impacts on GE in the fundamental sectors.The effects of IA and IC on GE in the fundamental sectors varied in direction and strength.After eliminating the impacts of environmental effects and statistical noise,the real GE in the three fundamental sectors varied significantly compared to the comprehensive GE.Policy opportunities for enhancing GE in the fundamental sectors mainly lie in region-specific policy and regulations that avoid a“one-size-fits-all”governance approach.Jiangxue Zhang Xu Liu Xue Zhang Yuan Chang Changbo Wang Lixiao Zhang 2021Journal of Management Science and Engineering2021,6,4:0
20Tropical Pacific Decadal Variability in Subsurface Temperature显示文摘The nature decadal variability of the equatorial Pacific subsurface temperature is examined in the control simulation with the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory coupled model CM2.1.The dominant mode of the subsurface temperature variations in the equator Pacific features a 20-40 year period and is North-South asymmetric about the equator.Decadal variations of the thermocline are most pronounced in the southwest of the Tropical Pacific.Decadal variation of the north-south asymmetric Sea Surface wind in the tropical Pacific,especially in the South Pacific Convergence,is the dominant mechanism of the nature decadal variation of the subsurface temperature in the equatorial Pacific.LIU Qinyu XU Lixiao LU Jiuyou WANG Qi 2012Journal of Ocean University of China2012,11,4:0
