1NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF FLOW FIELD BETWEEN FRICTIONAL PAIRS IN HYDROVISCOUS DRIVE SURFACE显示文摘The flow field of the oil film between frictional pairs in the hydroviscous drive test rig is investigated.A three-dimensional Navier-Stokes(N-S)equation considering viscous force and inertial force rather than Reynolds equation or modified Reynolds equation is presented to model the flow field.Pressure and temperature distribution in radial and circumferential direction under three different conditions,i.e.,isothermal,that considering viscosity-temperature characteristic as well as shear thinning non-Newtonian fluid are simulated,respectively,by utilizing the commercial computational fluid dynamics(CFD)software FLUENT.The results reveal that the grooves on the driven plate make the pressure,temperature distribution present periodic variation.The oil temperature and shear rate have important effects on the flow field between frictional pairs,and the oil temperature is more important parameter.The simulation results lay a theoretical foundation for the reasonable designs of hydroviscous drive.HUANG Jiahai QIU Minxiu LIAO Lingling FU Linjian 2008Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2008,21,3:8
2Meta-analysis of the clinical effectiveness of combined acupuncture and Western Medicine to treat post-stroke depression显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of combined acupuncture and Western Medicine in the treatment of post-stroke depression using a meta-analysis.METHODS:The China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database,Wanfang Database,China Science and Technology Journal Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,Pub Med,Embase,and the Cochrane Library were searched from their establishment to August 2018 for randomized controlled trials(RCTs)of combined acupuncture and Western Medicine to treat post-stroke depression.Two researchers independently extracted and cross-checked data,and then applied the modified Jadad scale and the Cochrane-recommended assessment method to evaluate the risk of bias.Review Manager 5.3 was used to conduct the meta-analysis.RESULTS:A total of 1860 patients in 24 RCTs were analyzed.The results of the Meta-analysis showed that:(a)The effective rate of acupuncture+fluoxetine hydrochloride vs fluoxetine hydrochloride was significant[relative risk(RR)=1.16,95%confidence interval(CI)(1.08,1.26)],as was that of acupuncture+flupentixol/melitracen vs flupentixol/melitracen[RR=1.23,95%CI(1.10,1.37)].(b)When analyzing Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD)-17 scores,six trials showed that acupuncture combined with Western Medicine was superior to Western Medicine alone,and could relieve the depressive symptoms of patients.For HAMD-24 scores,five trials were included for acupuncture+fluoxetine hydrochloride vs fluoxetine hydrochloride,with significance at 2 weeks[WMD=-6.51,95%CI(-8.62,-4.40)],as well as at 4 weeks[WMD=-8.40,95%CI(-11.86,-4.94)]and 8 weeks.(c)For the activities of daily living scale,acupuncture+fluoxetine hydrochloride vs fluoxetine hydrochloride[WMD=22.65,95%CI(18.34,26.95)],acupuncture+flupentixol/melitracen vs flupentixol/melitracen[WMD=8.08,95%CI(2.57,13.59)],acupuncture+sertraline hydrochloride vs sertraline hydrochloride[WMD=6.94,95%CI(3.59,10.29)],and acupuncture+doxepin hydrochloride vs doxepin hydrochloride[WMD=18.80,95%CI(15.84,21.76)]had significance.(d)For Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale scores,there was significance in all four included studies.CONCLUSION:The therapeutic effects of acupuncture combined with Western Medicine on post-stroke depression are often better than those of Western Medicine alone,and fewer adverse reactions occur.However,more high-quality RCTs are needed to further confirm these findings.WANG Xue YANG Jun YUAN Ting XIONG Jun JIANG Yunfeng ZHOU Xiaohong LIAO Kai XU Lingling 2021Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2021,41,1:4
3Electrospinning of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose trimellitate solutions显示文摘Nonwoven fiber mats of hydroxypropyl methylcellulose trimellitate(HPMCT) with potential applications in controlled delivery of drugs and scaffolds for tissue cultures have been successfully fabricated by electrospinning of HPMCT solutions.The formation and diameters of HPMCT fibers fabricated by electrospinning were strongly influenced by the solvents employed,electrostatic field strength,and solution concentrations.The electrospun products generated from all HPMCT solutions with various weight-average molecular weights in methanol/dichloromethane(1:1) solvent consisted of clustered beads,while methanol/dichloromethane(1:5) solvent helped to generate smooth,uniform,submicron fibers.From the relationship between specific viscosity and molecular weight in different solvents,it could be concluded that methanol/dichloromethane(1:5) solvent enhanced the molecular entanglements,improved the viscosity of the solutions,thus helped to generate smooth fibers.When all the other variables were kept constant,the concentration range suitable for electrospinning was between 10% and 16%(wt),and the average fiber diameter increased as the concentration increased.When all the other variables were kept constant,the average fiber diameter decreased as the strength of the electrostatic field increased.Electrospinning the solutions of two compounds with similar structure,hydroxypropyl methylcellulose phthalate(HPMCP) and HPMCT,we found that the fibers electrospun from HPMCP were thicker than that from HPMCT,which is attributed to the fact that the solution's conductivity of HPMCT(containing two free carboxyl groups) is higher than that of HPMCP(containing only one free carboxyl group).MA Gang,SHAO ZiQiang,WANG WenJun,WANG FeiJun,TAN LingLing & LIAO Bing School of Material,Beijing Institute of Technology,Beijing 100081,China 2010Science China Chemistry2010,53,1:3

9Polyvinylpyrrolidone-assisted growth and optical properties of ZnO hexagonal bilayer disk-like microstructures显示文摘ZnO hexagonal bilayer disk-like microstructures are successfully fabricated using a simple solvothermal method assisted with polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP). The structure and morphology were investigated by Xray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX). XRD result indicated that the as-obtained samples were well-crystallized wurtzite hexagonal ZnO structure. SEM images showed that the ZnO hexagonal bilayer disk-like assembles consist of two uniform and smooth disks with an average edge length of 6 μm and thickness of ~4 μm. UV-vis spectrum reveals that ZnO sampls show an appreciable red shift and the band gap energy of the obtained ZnO samples were about 3.15 eV. A very strong ultraviolet(UV) emission at the UV region was observed in the photoluminescence(PL) spectrum of the as-prepared ZnO samples tested at room temperature. 10Study on RNAi-based herbicide for Mikania micrantha显示文摘The invasive plant Mikania micrantha Kunth(M.micrantha)from South America poses a significant threat to the stability and biodiversity of ecosystems.However,an effective and economical method to control M.micrantha is still lacking.RNA interference(RNAi)has been widely studied and applied in agriculture for trait improvement.Spray-induced gene silencing(SIGS)can produce RNAi silencing effects without introducing heritable modifications to the plant genome and is becoming a novel nontransformation strategy for plant protection.In this study,the genes encoding chlorophyll a/b-binding proteins were selected as targets of RNAi,based on high-throughput sequencing of M.micrantha transcriptome and bioinformatic analyses of sequence specificity.Three types of RNAi molecules,double-stranded RNA,RNAi nanomicrosphere,and short hairpin RNA(shRNA),with their corresponding short interfering RNA sequences were designed and synthesized for SIGS vector construction,from which each RNAi molecule was transcribed and extracted to be sprayed on M.micrantha leaves.Whereas water-treated control leaves remained green,leaves treated with RNAi molecules turned yellow and eventually wilted.Quantitative real-time PCR showed that the expression levels of target genes were significantly reduced in the RNAi-treated groups compared with those of the control,suggesting that all three types of RNAi herbicides effectively silenced the endogenous target genes,which are essential for the growth of M.micrantha.We also found that shRNA showed better silencing efficiency than the other two molecules.Taken together,our study successfully designed three types of RNAi-based herbicides that specifically silenced endogenous target genes and controlled the growth of M.micrantha.Moreover,we identified a gene family encoding chlorophyll a/b-binding proteins that is important for the growth and development of M.micrantha and could serve as potential targets for controlling the spread of M.micrantha.Jiantao Mai Lingling Liao Rongsong Ling Xiaolong Guo Jingying Lin Beixin Mo Weizhao Chen Yu Yu 2021Synthetic and Systems Biotechnology2021,6,4:0

12Structural insights into mechanisms of Argonaute proteinassociatedNADase activation in bacterial immunity显示文摘Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD^(+)) is a central metabolite in cellular processes. Depletion of NAD^(+) has been demonstratedto be a prevalent theme in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic immune responses. Short prokaryotic Argonaute proteins (Agos) areassociated with NADase domain-containing proteins (TIR-APAZ or SIR2-APAZ) encoded in the same operon. They confer immunityagainst mobile genetic elements, such as bacteriophages and plasmids, by inducing NAD^(+) depletion upon recognition of targetnucleic acids. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying the activation of such prokaryotic NADase/Ago immune systemsremain unknown. Here, we report multiple cryo-EM structures of NADase/Ago complexes from two distinct systems (TIR-APAZ/Agoand SIR2-APAZ/Ago). Target DNA binding triggers tetramerization of the TIR-APAZ/Ago complex by a cooperative self-assemblymechanism, while the heterodimeric SIR2-APAZ/Ago complex does not assemble into higher-order oligomers upon target DNAbinding. However, the NADase activities of these two systems are unleashed via a similar closed-to-open transition of the catalyticpocket, albeit by different mechanisms. Furthermore, a functionally conserved sensor loop is employed to inspect the guideRNA–target DNA base pairing and facilitate the conformational rearrangement of Ago proteins required for the activation of thesetwo systems.
