1Advances in carbon flux observation and research in Asia显示文摘As an important component of FLUXNET, Asia is increasingly becoming the hotspot in global carbon research for its vast territory, complex climate type and vegetation diversity. The present three regional flux observation networks in Asia (i.e. AsiaFlux, KoFlux and ChinaFLUX)have 54 flux observation sites altogether, covering tropic rainforest, evergreen broad-leaved forest, broad-leaved and coniferous mixed forest, shrubland, grassland, alpine meadow and cropland ecosystems with a latitudinal distribution from 2°N to 63°N. Long-term and continuous fluxes of carbon dioxide, water vapor and energy between the biosphere and atmosphere are mainly measured with eddy covariance technique to (1) quantify and compare the carbon, water and energy budgets across diverse ecosystems; (2) quantify the environmental and biotic controlling mechanism on ecosystem carbon, water and energy fluxes; (3) validate the soil-vegetation-atmosphere model; and (4) serve the integrated study of terrestrial ecosystem carbon and water cycle. Over the last decades, great advancements have been made in the theory and technology of flux measurement, ecosystem flux patterns, simulation and scale conversion by Asian flux community. The establishment of ChinaFLUX has greatly filled the gap of flux observation and research in Eurasia. To further promote the flux measurement and research,accelerate data sharing and improve the data quality, it is necessary to present a methodological system of flux estimation and evaluation over complex terrain and to develop the integrated research that combines the flux measurement, stable isotope measurement, remote sensing observation and GIS technique. 2Mating patterns and pollen dispersal in a Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi) clonal seed orchard: a case study显示文摘Pollination dynamics highly determines the genetic quality of seed orchard crops. However, there is less research about the effect of mating patterns on seed productivity of orchard crops. So far, clonal seed orchards have been producing genetically improved seedlings used for most Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi(Lamb.) Carr.) plantations in China. In the present study, a total of 17 highly variable simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers were used for genotyping a progeny trial population consisting of 647 open-pollinated progenies germinated from seeds which were collected from 63 maternal clones with 140 potential paternal clones in a Japanese larch clonal seed orchard in China. Paternity analysis was used in the present case study in order to evaluate the level of paternal gametic contribution, estimate pollen contamination and selfing rates, and investigate pollination patterns,pollen dispersal patterns and the impact of mating patterns on seed productivity of orchard crops. We observed 93.7% of the success rate of the parental assignment, unequal paternal gametic contribution(0–12.4%) with 6.3% of the progenies derived from pollen contamination or unsampled pollen donors, and absence of evidence for selfing. We also found that pollination rate highly depended on the distance between pollen donors and maternal parents, the majority of the identified crossing(65.7%)occurred between clones within a 150-m radius, and large variations in growth performance existed among the paternal halfsiblings. Progeny growth performance(diameter at breast(DBH) and height(HGT)) was measured at Age-20 in order to investigate the impact of mating patterns on timber production of orchard crops. As either the paternal or maternal, two clones(i.e., clones Z38 and Z62) were identified to have produced progenies with higher average stem volume breeding values than that of all of the progenies. Specifically, the genetic gains for volume were 3.53% for the two clones as paternal parents, and 8.26% as the maternal parents at Age-20. Thus, both elite clones were ideal candidates for the construction of next-generation clonal seed orchards due to their synchronous reproductive phenology with greater crossing rate and higher genetic gain. 3Effects of typical algae species(Aphanizomenon flosaquae and Microcystis aeruginosa) on photoreduction of Hg2+ in water body显示文摘Photoreduction characteristics of divalent inorganic mercury (Hg2+) in the presence of specific algae species are still not well known.Laboratory experiments were conducted in the present study to identify the effects of different concentrations of living/dead algae species,including Aphanizomenon flosaquae (AF) and Microcystis aeruginosa (MA),on the photoreduction rate of Hg2+ under various light conditions.The experimental results showed that percentage reduction of Hg2+ was significantly influenced by radiation wavelengths,and dramatically decreased with the presence of algae.The highest percentage reduction of Hg2+ was induced by UV-A,followed by UV-B,visible light and dark for both living and dead AF,and the order was dark > UV-A > UV-B > visible light for both living and dead MA.There were two aspects,i.e.,energy and attenuation rate of light radiation and excrementitious generated from algae metabolisms,were involved in the processes of Hg2+ photoreduction with the presence of algae under different light conditions.The percentage reduction of Hg2+ decreased from 15% to 11% when living and dead AF concentrations increased by 10 times (from 106 to 105 cells/mL),and decreased from11% to ~9% in the case of living and dead MA increased.Algae can adsorb Hg2+ and decrease the concentration of free Hg2+,thus inhibiting Hg2+ photoreduction,especially under the conditions with high concentrations of algae.No significant differences were found in percentage reduction of Hg2+ between living and dead treatments of algae species.The results are of great importance for understanding the role of algae in Hg2+ photoreduction.Rongguo Sun Yafei Mo Xinbin Feng Leiming Zhang Lin Jin Qiuhua Li 2019Journal of Environmental Sciences2019,31,11:2
4High-throughput RNA sequencing reveals the anti-inflammatory mechanism of baicalin on Propionibacterium acnes-induced acne in rabbits显示文摘Objective:Propionibacterium acnes(P.acnes)plays an important role in the development of acne,an inflammatory skin disease with a high-incidence.In this study,we used high-throughput RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)to reveal the anti-inflammatory mechanism of baicalin on P.acnes-induced acne in rabbits.Methods:The Kligman method was used to induce acne in the ears of New Zealand rabbits.The effect of baicalin on the acne model was evaluated by the number of acne lesions and hematoxylin and eosin(H&E)staining of acne tissues.Enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay was used to measure the protein expression levels of tumor necrosis factor a(TNFA),interleukin-1 b(IL1B),IL6,and IL8 in the serum of rabbits.RNA-seq was performed to investigate the mechanism of anti-inflammatory activities of baicalin on acne.Immunohistochemical analysis and Western blot were used to validate the expression levels of related proteins in acne tissues.Results:Baicalin treatment significantly reduced the number of acne lesions and lesions of the ear as well as levels of serum inflammatory cytokines.RNA-seq data showed that baicalin treatment globally suppressed inflammation,especially the TNF signaling pathway and Staphylococcus aureus infection pathway,in the rabbit acne model.Conclusion: Baicalin effectively ameliorates P. acnes-induced acne in rabbits by suppressingthe inflammatory response in rabbits.Xingzhe Yang Guangrui Huang Leiming You Honghao Sheng Yuxiu Sun Yuyin Feng Qingyi Lu Anlong Xu 2019Journal of Traditional Chinese Medical Sciences2019,6,3:2

8Altitude shape genetic and phenotypic variations in growth curve parameters of Larix kaempferi显示文摘To study the effects of geoclimatic variables of provenances on growth phenotypes and selected plus provenances,over 3000 trees of 22-year-old Larix kaempferi were evaluated from trials established in two climate zones for provenance selection and to explore the influence of climate variables on provenance performance.The material was replicated plantings of 84 open pollinated families from six provenances distributed in the mountains of central Japan.Provenance variation was observed in most age groups and the heritability of growth traits showed large differences.The phenotypic maximum value of height and diameter were significantly positive with altitude,and mean annual precipitation being important factors.Diameter at breast height growth was significantly negative with altitude and spring rainfall.The Ina provenance of relatively high altitudes,was well adapted to a variety of climates.Altitude might be the driving force for phenotypic and genetic variations and local adaptation.Yalin Zhang Leiming Dong Yunhui Xie Dongsheng Chen Xiaomei Sun 2023Journal of Forestry Research2023,34,2:0

10Geological Guided Tomography Inversion Based on Fault Constraint and Its Application显示文摘Fault block reservoirs are one of the main types of hydrocarbon reservoirs found in offshore basins,and they are widely distributed within the Mesozoic and Cenozoic basins of the northern South China Sea.Conventional seismic profiles of complex fault areas often contain obvious fragmentation and distortion of seismic events that is corresponding to geological structure under the fault.This phenomenon is known as a fault shadow;it occurs in relation to rapid changes in velocity near the fault that deviate the ray path of waves,and it seriously affects the ability to determine the geological structure and subsequently evaluate the reserves of fault reservoirs.In the current conventional tomography inversion method,the velocity model is over-smoothed,which results in distortion of the reflection layer under the fault.Based on the velocity tomography inversion of imaging gathers method and the concept of regularization,this paper first introduces the anisotropy Gauss regularization operator.A high-resolution tomography inversion method is then developed,and the fault-controlled geological guidance is constrained.This technology is then applied to a complex fault block reservoir basin in the South China Sea,and the results show that it can significantly solve the problem of fault shadow imaging and determine the geological structures in the target area.The newly developed method thus has very good application prospects.LI Sanfu ZHANG Xiaobo DAN Zhiwei SUN Bo SONG Peng SUN Leiming FANG Zhongyu LI Lie 2021Journal of Ocean University of China2021,20,6:0
11QTL Mapping for Plant Height of Wheat under Different Irrigation Modes显示文摘In order to mine gene loci associated with drought resistance and water use efficiency,and provide guidance for the breeding of drought-resistant wheat varieties,quantitative trait loci(QTLs)for plant height(PH)and stem height(SH)of wheat were evaluated using a population of 302 recombinant inbred lines(RILs)derived from a cross between drought-tolerant cultivar Luohan 2 and water-sensitive cultivar Weimai 8 under different water regimes in six environments.Totally 17 additive QTLs for PH and SH were identified and distributed on chromosomes 2B,3A,3B,4A,5A,5D,6B,7A and 7B,respectively,which explained3.3%to 26.95%phenotypic variations,with additive effect of 1.919 6 to 5.382 8 cm.Among them,14 QTLs,24 times and 5 QTLs,7 times were detected in three irrigation environments and three drought stress environments,respectively.Both the number of QTLs for PH and the times detected in drought stress environments were significantly less than those in irrigation environments.Of all the 17 QTLs for PH,12 were detected only in irrigation environment,three QTLs were detected only in drought stress environment,and two QTLs were detected in both environments,suggesting that the expression of the genes is greatly influenced by environmental condition.QPh-WL-7A.3 detected between maker Xbarc049 and Xgwm273 on chromosome 7A in all the three drought stress environments,can enhance2.481 5-3.697 2 cm of PH,explain 8.6%-10.0%additive effect,so it is useful for the genetic improvement of drought tolerance and molecular marker-assisted selection in wheat.Yanyun REN Ling HUANG Minmin SHAO Leiming SUN Kai ZHAO Jinping WANG Xingke XU Weiying FENG Jifeng WANG Lu YAN Shichong WANG Lin WANG 2017Agricultural Biotechnology2017,6,4:0

13Effects of Different Line Spacing and Seedling Belt Width on Yield Formation of Broad-Width Fine Sowing Wheat显示文摘In order to explore the interaction effects of line spacing and seedling belt width on wheat yield formation and improve the cultivation techniques of broadwidth and fine seeding of wheat,a high-yielding winter wheat cultivar Shannong 28 was selected as material. Using the split plot design,the main plot was set with line spacing as 20,25 and 30 cm,respectively,and the sub-plot was set with seedling belt width as 3,5,7,9 and 11 cm,respectively. Then,the population dynamics,dry matter accumulation and translocation and yield of wheat were studied under the experimental conditions. The results showed that under the line spacing of 20 cm,the dry matter accumulation and yield of winter wheat were higher with the seedling belt width of 5 cm. When the line spacing was 25 cm,the dry matter accumulation and yield under the seedling belt width of 9 cm reached a high level. Under the line spacing of 30 cm,Shannong 28 achieved higher dry matter accumulation and yield with the seedling belt width of 11 cm. Comprehensive analysis revealed that the suitable treatment for Shannong 28 was 25 cm of line spacing with 9 cm of seedling belt width,which could realize the coordination of the three factors of yield composition and get higher yield.
