| 1 | Fabrication of commercial pure Ti by selective laser melting using hydride-dehydride titanium powders treated by ball milling显示文摘Micro-fine sphericalpowders are recommended for selective laser melting(SLM). However, they are mostly expensive due to the complex manufacturing technique and low yield. In this paper, using lowcost treated hydride-dehydride(HDH) Ti powders, commercial pure Ti(CP-Ti) was successfully fabricated by SLM. After 4-h milling, the resulting powders become near-spherical with no obvious angularity, and have optimal flowability with the apparent density of 1.64 ± 0.02 g/cm^3, tap density of 2.10 ± 0.04 g/cm^3,angle of repose 40.11?±0.09?, and Carr's index of 77.74 ± 0.15. The microstructure was determined with full acicular martensitic β phase. The CP-Ti can achieve superior mechanical properties with the ultimate tensile strength of 876.1 ± 20.5 MPa and elongation of(14.7 ± 0.5)%, which exhibit distinctly competitive compared to the as-cast CP-Ti or Ti-6 Al-4 V. | 2 | Fabrication of micro-fine high Nb-containing TiAl alloyed powders by fluidized bed jet milling显示文摘A fluidized bed jet milling process was used to make micro-fine high Nb-containing TiAl alloyed powders from the chippings obtained by crushing the Ti-45Al-8.5Nb-(W,B,Y) ingot.The influences of classifier frequency on powder characteristics were investigated.The results show that the powders with controlled average particle size can be prepared on a large scale.The powders with different sizes are all dominated by γ with aminor amount of α2-Ti3Al.The particle size significantly decreases with the classifier frequency increasing.At a classifier frequency higher than 38 Hz,the average particle size of the ground powders is lower than 25μm.The powders are composed of two differ-ent sizes of particles:shaped particles and some clastic particles,and both particle sizes meet the log-normal distribution.With the classifier frequency increasing,the both sizes decrease;meanwhile,the proportion of the clastic particles gradually increases,and the size distribution span value of the ground powders increases correspondingly. | Lu, Xin Zhu, Langping Liu, Chengcheng Zhang, Lin Wu, Mao Qu, Xuanhui | 2012 | Rare Metals2012,31,1: | 8 |
| 3 | Design and performance evaluation of additively manufactured composite lattice structures of commercially pure Ti(CP-Ti)显示文摘Ti alloys with lattice structures are garnering more and more attention in the field of bone repair or regeneration due to their superior structural,mechanical,and biological properties.In this study,six types of composite lattice structures with different strut radius that consist of simple cubic(structure A),body-centered cubic(structure B),and edge-centered cubic(structure C)unit cells are designed.The designed structures are firstly simulated and analysed by the finite element(FE)method.Commercially pure Ti(CP-Ti)lattice structures with optimized unit cells and strut radius are then fabricated by selective laser melting(SLM),and the dimensions,microtopography,and mechanical properties are characterised.The results show that among the six types of composite lattice structures,combined BA,CA,and CB structures exhibit smaller maximum von-Mises stress,indicating that these structures have higher strength.Based on the fitting curves of stress/specific surface area versus strut radius,the optimized strut radius of BA,CA,and CB structures is 0.28,0.23,and 0.30 mm respectively.Their corresponding compressive yield strength and compressive modulus are 42.28,30.11,and 176.96 MPa,and 4.13,2.16,and 7.84 GPa,respectively.The CP-Ti with CB unit structure presents a similar strength and compressive modulus to the cortical bone,which makes it a potential candidate for subchondral bone restorations. | Wei Xu Aihua Yu Xin Lu Maryam Tamaddon Mengdi Wang Jiazhen Zhang Jianliang Zhang Xuanhui Qu Chaozong Liu Bo Su | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,5: | 2 |
| 4 | Characteristics of novel Ti-10Mo-xCu alloy by powder metallurgy for potential biomedical implant applications显示文摘When biomaterials are implanted in the human body,the surfaces of the implants become favorable sites for microbial adhesion and biofilm formation,causing peri-implant infection which frequently results in the failure of prosthetics and revision surgery.Ti-Mo alloy is one of the commonly used implant materials for load-bearing bone replacement,and the prevention of infection of Ti-Mo implants is therefore crucial.In this study,bacterial inhibitory copper(Cu)was added to Ti-Mo matrix to develop a novel Ti-Mo-Cu alloy with bacterial inhibitory property.The effects of Cu content on microstructure,tensile properties,cytocompatibility,and bacterial inhibitory ability of Ti-Mo-Cu alloy were systematically investigated.Results revealed that Ti-10Mo-1Cu alloy consisted ofαandβphases,while there were a few Ti2Cu intermetallic compounds existed for Ti-10Mo-3Cu and Ti-10Mo-5Cu alloys,in addition toαandβphases.The tensile strength of Ti-10Mo-xCu alloy increased with Cu content while elongation decreased.Ti-10Mo-3Cu alloy exhibited an optimal tensile strength of 1098.1 MPa and elongation of 5.2%.Cytocompatibility study indicated that none of the Ti-10Mo-xCu alloys had a negative effect on MC3T3-E1 cell proliferation.Bacterial inhibitory rates against S.aureus and E.coli increased with the increase in Cu content of Ti-10Mo-xCu alloy,within the ranges of 20-60%and 15-50%,respectively.Taken together,this study suggests that Ti-10Mo-3Cu alloy with high strength,acceptable elongation,excellent cytocompatibility,and the bacterial inhibitory property is a promising candidate for biomedical implant applications. | Wei Xu Chenjin Hou Yuxuan Mao Lei Yang Maryam Tamaddon Jianliang Zhang Xuanhui Qu Chaozong Liu Bo Su Xin Lu | 2020 | Bioactive Materials2020,5,3: | 2 |

| 9 | Magnetic properties and thermal stability of anisotropic bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets by warm compaction显示文摘Anisotropic bonded magnets were prepared by warm compaction using anisotropic Nd-Fe-B powder. The forming process, magnetic properties, and temperature stability were studied. The results indicate that the optimal temperature of the process, which was decided by the vis-cosity of the binders, was 110°C. With increasing pressure, the density of the magnets increased. When the pressure was above 700 MPa, the powder particles were destroyed and the magnetic properties decreased. The magnetic properties of the anisotropic bonded magnets were as follows: remanence Br=0.98 T, intrinsic coercivity iHc=1361 kA/m, and maximum energy product BHmax=166 kJ/m3. The magnets had excellent thermal stability because of the high coercivity and good squareness of demagnetization curves. The flux density of the magnets was 35% higher than that of isotropic bonded Nd-Fe-B magnets at 120°C for 1000 h.
