| 1 | Efficacy of different treatment strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein tumor thrombosis显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the efficacy of different treatment strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) with portal vein tumor thrombosis (PVTT) and investigate factors influencing prognosis.METHODS: One hundred and seventy-nine HCC patients with macroscopic PVTT were enrolled in this study. They were divided into four groups and underwent different treatments: conservative treatment group (n = 18),chemotherapy group (n = 53), surgical resection group (n = 24) and surgical resection with postoperative chemotherapy group (n = 84). Survival rates of the patients were analyzed by the Kaplan-Meier method. A log-rank analysis was performed to identify group differences. Cox's proportional hazards model was used to analyze variables associated with survival.RESULTS: The mean survival periods of the patients in four groups were 3.6, 7.3, 10.1, and 15.1 mo respectively.There were significant differences in the survival rates among the groups. The survival rates at 0.5-, 1-, 2-, and 3-year in surgical resection with postoperative chemotherapy group were 55.8%, 39.3%, 30.4%, and 15.6% respectively, which were significantly higher than those of other groups (P<0.001). Multivariate analysis revealed that the strategy of treatment (P<0.001) and the number of chemotherapy cycles (P = 0.012) were independent survival predictors for patients with HCC and PVTT.CONCLUSION: Surgical resection of HCC and PVTT combined with postoperative chemotherapy or chemoembolization is the most effective therapeutic strategy for the patients who can tolerate operation.Multiple chemotherapeutic courses should be given postoperatively to the patients with good hepatic function reserve. | JiaFan JianZhou Zhi-QuanWu Shuang-JianQiu Xiao-YingWang Ying-HongShi Zhao-YouTang | 2005 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2005,11,8: | 58 |

| 3 | Effect of cypermethrin insecticide on the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere显示文摘Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) is one of the most widely used vegetable in the world,and different pesticides have been extensively used for controlling the insects and disease pathogens of this plant.However,little is known about how the pesticides affect the microbial community in cucumber phyllosphere.This study was the first attempt to assess the impact of pyrethroid insecticide cyperemethrin on the microbial communities of cucumber phyllosphere using biochemical and genetic approaches.Phospholipid fatty acid (PLFA) assay indicated that cyperemethrin insecticide treatment led to a significant increase in both total and bacterial biomass and a decrease in fungal biomass and the ratio of Gram-positive (GP) bacteria to Gram-negative (GN) bacteria within the cucumber phyllosphere.Principal-component analyses (PCA) suggested that the number of unsaturated and cyclopropane PLFAs (16:1ω9t,18:1ω7,cy17:0,cy19:0) increased with the insecticide treatment,whereas the saturated PLFA i16:0,i17:0 decreased.The increase of GN bacteria implied that the cypermethrin insecticide might be a nutrient for the growth of these phyllosphere microbes.Terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (T-RFLP) reinforced the PLFA results.A significant change of bacterial community structure was observed in the separate dendrogram cluster between control and treated samples with the cucumber phyllosphere following cypermethrin insecticide treatment.Moreover,the increased terminal restriction fragments (T-RFs) (58,62,89,99,119,195,239,311,340,and 473 bp) indicated that some bacteria might play a significant role in the insecticide degradation within the cucumber phylosphere,whereas the disappeared T-RFs (44,51,96,223,306,and 338 bp) implied that some other bacteria might potentially serve as microbial indicator of cyperemethrin insecticide exposure. | Baoguo ZHANG Zhihui BAI | 2008 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2008,20,11: | 19 |
| 4 | Expression Detection of DMRTs and Two sox9 Genes in Takifugu rubripes (Tetraodontidae, Vertebrata)显示文摘Sex determination and sex differentiation are important phenomena in fish, but the mechanisms of sex determination in Takifugu rubripes are poorly understood. In our study, the expression patterns of genes for DMRTs (DMRT1, DMRT2 and DMRT3), sox9a and sox9b in T. rubripes tissues were verified with the Reverse Transcription (RT)-PCR detection. It is showed that DMRT1 expressions in testis and ovaries were much lower, and no expressions were found in muscle, blood and tailfin. However, expressions for DMRT2 and DMRT3 were not found in the tissues stated above. Transcripts of sox9a were detected in muscle, fin, ovary and testis, but not in blood, whereas sox9b expression was only detected in ovary. | 6 | Robust double-layered ANF/MXene-PEDOT:PSS Janus films with excellent multi-source driven heating and electromagnetic interference shielding properties显示文摘The strategy of incorporating polymers into MXene-based functional materials has been widely used to improve their mechanical properties,however with inevitable sacrifice of their electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding performance.This study demonstrates a facile yet efficient layering structure design to prepare the highly robust and conductive double-layer Janus films comprised of independent aramid nanofiber(ANF)and Ti3C2Tx MXene/poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS)layers.The ANF layer serves to provide good mechanical stability,whilst the MXene/PEDOT:PSS layer ensures excellent electrical conductivity.Doping PEDOT:PSS into the MXene layer enhances the interfacial bonding strength between the MXene and ANF layers and improves the hydrophobicity and water/oxidation resistance of MXene layer.The resultant ANF/MXene-PEDOT:PSS Janus film with a conductive layer thickness of 4.4μm was shown to display low sheet resistance(2.18Ω/sq),good EMI shielding effectiveness(EMI SE of 48.1 dB),high mechanical strength(155.9 MPa),and overall toughness(19.4 MJ/m^(3)).Moreover,the excellent electrical conductivity and light absorption capacity of the MXene-PEDOT:PSS conductive layer mean that these Janus films display multi-source driven heating functions,producing excellent Joule heating(382℃ at 4 V)and photothermal conversion(59.6℃ at 100 mW/m^(2))properties. | Bing Zhou Jianzhou Song Bo Wang Yuezhan Feng Chuntai Liu Changyu Shen | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,10: | 4 |

Essential amino acids play an irreplaceable role in human growth,development and health care. Essential amino acid is a key ingredient to measure the nutritional value of rice. Using the experimental rice processed from the rice variety ' Yuzhenxiang' sprayed with plant nutrients( patent number: ZL201110103910. 9),namely high essential amino acid nutritional rice,combined with five kinds of high quality rice imported by COFCO and homegrown ' Wuchang rice',we send the samples of the seven kinds of rice to Hunan Food Testing Center,and adopt HPLC method to test the content of protein and eight kinds of essential amino acids. Three bags of rice are randomly selected for each kind of rice,and each bag is a replication. | 11 | Establishing an experimental model of photodynamic induced anterior ischemic optic neuropathy显示文摘BACKGROUND: Scholars have supposed to establish animal models of optic neuropathy by pressing and partially amputating optic nerve, increasing intraocular pressure and injecting vasoconstrictor, etc., but the models are greatly different from anterior ischemia optic neuropathy. Therefore, a more ideal method is needed to establish animal model of anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (AION).OBJECTIVE: To establish AION models in rats, observe the functional changes of fundus, fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA), optical coherence tomography (OCT), flash visual evoked potential (F-VEP), and histopathologically confirm its reliability.DESIGN: A randomized control trial.SETTINGS: Department of Ophthalmology, Xi’an Fourth Hospital; Xi’an Institute of Ocular Fundus Diseases.MATERIALS: The experiments were carried out in the research room of Xi’an Institute of Ocular Fundus Diseases from February 2005 to May 2006. Thirty healthy male SD rats of 4-5 weeks old, weighing 140-160 g, were provided by the animal experimental center of the Fourth Military Medical University of Chinese PLA [SCXK(Military)2002-005], and those without eye disease examined by slit lamp and direct ophthalmoscope after mydriasis were enrolled. The conditions for feeding mice without special pathogen were strictly followed. The rats were randomly divided into blank control group (n =5), laser group (n =5), hematoporphyrin derivative (HPD) group and AION group (n =15), each group was numbered randomly. For each rat, the right eye was taken as the experimental eye, and the left one as the control one.METHODS: In the AION group, the rats were injected with HPD (10 mg/kg) via caudal vein, and then the optic discs were exposed to krypton red (647 nm, 80 mV) for 120 s, and the rats were in avoidance of light for 2 weeks postoperatively. Rats in the laser group were only exposed to krypton red (647 nm, 80 mV) for 120 s, and in avoidance of light for 2 weeks postoperatively; Those in the HPD group were only injected with HPD (10 mg/kg) via caudal vein; Those in the blank control group were untouched. ① Visual electrophysiological test: The F-VEP was used to evaluate the function of visual nerve. ② FFA: After mydriasis and anesthesia as describe above, the fluorescein sodium parenteral solution (1 mL/kg) was injected via caudal vein and finished within about 3 s, the time of FFA was recorded from the beginning of injection, the video sight aimed at the optic disc and the surrounding area. ③ After mydriasis and anesthesia as describe above, the rats were examined with OCT. ④ Histological observation: After hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining, the optic disc and surrounding blood vessels of retina were observed under light microscope at high power field. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The results of fundus, FFA, visual electrophysiological test and OCT detection within 90 days after model establishment were observed. RESULTS: Of the 30 rats, 1 died after anesthesia in the laser group and 2 died in the AION group respectively, and finally 27 rats were involved in the analysis of results. ① Changes in fundus: In the AION group, there was edema in upper optic disc and unclear boundary at 1 day after establishment, edema still could be observed at 6 days, and upper optic disc atrophied and appeared as pale at 90 days. ② FFA results: In the AION group, early 'low fluorescence', middle and late 'high fluorescence' were observed in upper optic disc 1 day after model establishment, and there was 'low fluorescence' at 6 days, and the low fluorescence could be observed all the time at 23 days. ③ Visual electrophysiological changes: In the AION group as compared with the control eyes, the experimental ones had prolonged F-VEP P100 latency [(71.65±8.81), (57.58±8.38) ms, t =3.148, P =0.012], and decreased wave amplitude [(4.77±1.90), (10.06±3.66) μV, t =4.082, P =0.003], and these changes lasted to 35 days after model establishment. ④ OCT results: In the AION group, the reflection surface of part nerve fiber layer was higher than the retina plane, the surface was rough and the thickness was increased at 6 days after model establishment. ⑤ Histopathological results: At 1 day after model establishment, part optic discs had highly edema, edema of nerve fibers, and loose tissue, also accompanied by the displacement of surrounding retina; At 23 days, the optic disc and surrounding nerve fiber layers became thinner, and the numbers of ganglion nuclei in the retina tissue sections were obviously decreased. These changes were not observed in the laser group, HPD group and blank control group. | 18 | Threshold and decay properties of transient isolated turbulent band in plane Couette flow显示文摘By direct numerical simulations of the plane Couette flow (PCF) in a large computational domain, it is shown that an isolated turbulent band decays monotonically at low Reynolds numbers but experiences transient growth before the eventual relaminarization at moderate Reynolds numbers. The lower bound Reynolds number of the transient-growth regime is determined as 286. The width, length, and tilt angle of the iso- lated band structure are defined based on the disturbance kinetic energy in the mid-plane, and the geometric characteristics of the band can be described with a tilted rectangle.
