| 2 | Ambient air quality trends and driving factor analysis in Beijing, 1983–2007显示文摘The rapid development in Beijing, the capital of China, has resulted in serious air pollution problems. Meanwhile great efforts have been made to improve the air quality, especially since 1998. The variation in air quality under the interaction of pollution and control in this mega city has attracted much attention. We analyzed the changes in ambient air quality in Beijing since the 1980's using the Daniel trend test based on data from long-term monitoring stations. The results showed that different pollutants displayed three trends: a decreasing trend, an increasing trend and a flat trend. SO2, dustfall, B[a]P, NO2 and PM10 fit decreasing trend pattern, while NOx showed an increasing trend, and CO, ozone pollution, total suspended particulate (TSP), as well as Pb fit the flat trend. The cause of the general air pollution in Beijing has changed from being predominantly related to coal burning to mixed traffic exhaust and coal burning related pollution. Seasonally, the pollution level is typically higher during the heating season from November to the following March. The interaction between pollution sources change and implementation of air pollution control measures was the main driving factor that caused the variation in air quality. | 3 | Inhibition of RhoA/Rho-kinase pathway suppresses the expression of extracellular matrix induced by CTGF or TGF-β in ARPE-19显示文摘AIM:To investigate the role of Rho-associated protein kinase (ROCK) inhibitor, Y27632, in mediating the production of extracellular matrix (ECM) components including fibronectin, matrix metallo-proteinase-2 (MMP-2) and type I collagen as induced by connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) or transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) in a human retinal pigment epithelial cell line, ARPE-19. METHODS:The effect of Y27632 on the CTGF or TGF-β induced phenotype in ARPE-19 cells was measured with immunocytochemistry as the change in F-actin. ARPE-19 cells were treated with CTGF (1, 10, 100ng/mL)and TGF-β (10ng/mL) in serum free media, and analyzed for fibronectin, laminin, and MMP-2 and type I collagen by RT-qPCR and immunocytochemistry. Cells were also pretreated with an ROCK inhibitor, Y27632, to analyze the signaling contributing to ECM production. ·RESULTS:Treatment of ARPE-19 cells in culture with TGF-β or CTGF induced an ECM change from a cobblestone morphology to a more elongated swirl pattern indicating a mesenchymal phenotype. RT-qPCR analysis and different gene expression analysis demonstrated an upregulation in expression of genes associated with cytoskeletal structure and motility. CTGFor TGF-β significantly increased expression of fibronectin mRNA (P =0.006, P =0.003 respectively), laminin mRNA (P =0.006, P =0.005), MMP-2 mRNA (P =0.006, P =0.001), COL1A1 mRNA (P =0.001, P =0.001), COL1A2 mRNA (P = 0.001, P =0.001). Preincubation of ARPE-19 with Y27632 (10mmol/L) significantly prevented CTGF or TGF-β induced fibronectin (P=0.005, P=0.003 respectively), MMP-2 (P = 0.003, P =0.002), COL1A1 (P =0.006, P =0.003), and COL1A2 (P =0.006, P =0.004) gene expression, but not laminin (P =0.375, P =0.516). CONCLUSION:Our study demonstrated that both TGF-β and CTGF upregulate the expression of ECM components including fibronectin, laminin, MMP-2 and type I collagen by activating the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway. During this process, ARPE-19 cells were shown to change from an epithelial to a mesenchymal phenotype in vitro. Y27632, a ROCK inhibitor, inhibited the transcription of fibronectin, MMP-2 and type I collagen, but not laminin. The data from our work suggest a role for CTGF as a profibrotic mediator. Inhibiting the RhoA/ROCK pathway represents a potential target to prevent the fibrosis of retinal pigment epithelial (RPE) cells. | 4 | Petrogenesis of Late Cretaceous Jiangla'angzong I-Type Granite in Central Lhasa Terrane, Tibet, China: Constraints from Whole-Rock Geochemistry, Zircon U-Pb Geochronology, and Sr-Nd-Pb-Hf Isotopes显示文摘The Jiangla'angzong granite in the northern part of the Central Lhasa Terrane is composed of syenogranite and adamellite. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb analyses suggest that syenogranite has a weighted mean ^(206) Pb/^(238) U age of 86±1 Ma(mean square weighted deviation=0.37), which is in accordance with the muscovite Ar-Ar age(85±1 Ma) of Cu-Au ore-bearing skarns and the zircon U-Pb age(84±1 Ma) of adamellite. This suggests that the Jiangla'angzong magmatism and Cu–Au mineralization events took place during the Late Cretaceous. The granite contains hornblende, biotite, and pyroxene, and does not contain Al-bearing minerals, such as muscovite, cordierite, and garnet. It has high contents of SiO_2(65.10–70.91 wt%), K_2O(3.44–5.17 wt%), and total K_2O+Na_2O(7.13–8.15 wt%), and moderate contents of A_(12)O_3(14.14–16.45 wt%) and CaO(2.33–4.11 wt%), with a Reitman index(σ43) of 2.18 to 2.33, and A/CNK values of 0.88 to 1.02. The P_2O_5 contents show a negative correlation with SiO_2, whereas Pb contents show a positive correlation with SiO_2. Th and Y contents are relatively low and show a negative correlation with the Rb contents. These characteristics suggest that the Jiangla'angzong granite is a high K calc–alkaline metaluminous I–type granite. It is enriched in light rare earth elements(LREE) and large ion lithofile elements(LILE), and depleted in heavy rare earth elements(HREE) and high field strength elements(HFSE), with LREE/HREE ratios of 11.7 to 18.1. The granite has negative Eu anomalies of 0.58 to 0.94 without obvious Ce anomalies(δCe=1.00–1.04). The relatively low initial 87 Sr/86 Sr ratios of 0.7106 to 0.7179, positive εHf(t) values of 1.0 to 4.1, and two-stage Hf model ages(TDM2) ranging from 889 Ma to 1082 Ma, These geochemical features indicate that the granite derived from a juvenile crust. The(^(143) Nd/^(144) Nd)_t values from the Jiangla'angzong granite range from 0.5121 to 0.5123, its εNd(t) values range from-10.17 to-6.10, its(^(206) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 18.683 to 18.746, its(^(207) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 15.695 to 15.700, and its(^(208) Pb/^(204) Pb)_t values range from 39.012 to 39.071. These data indicate that the granite was formed by melting of the upper crust with the addition of some mantle materials. | 8 | Application of pole-zero cancellation circuit in nuclear signal filtering and shaping algorithm显示文摘In radiation measurement and digital nuclear spectrum systems,traditional nuclear signal processing circuits in nuclear electronics have been gradually replaced by digital algorithm modules with the application of highperformance programmable hardware logic devices(such as FPGA or DSP).Referring to the digital realization method of inverse RC integral circuit systems,the function of the pole-zero cancellation(PZC)circuit was analyzed,a new modified cascade equivalent model of PZC was established,and the time-domain digital PZC(DPZC)recursive algorithm was derived in detail in this study.Two parameters kIand k_(D)are included in the new algorithm,where kIshould match the exponential decay time constant of the input signal to realize the pole-zero compensation,while the decay time constant of the output signal can be changed with the adjustable parameter k_(D)(which is larger than the decay time constant of the input signal).Based on the new DPZC algorithm module,two trapezoidal(triangular)shaping filters were designed and implemented.The amplitude–frequency characteristics of the output signal of the proposed trapezoidal shaping algorithm and the convolution trapezoidal shaping algorithm were compared,with fixed peaking time.The results show that the trapezoidal shaping algorithm based on DPZC can better suppress high-frequency noise.Finally,based on the Na I(Tl)scintillator(u75 mm×75 mm)detector and^(137)Cs source,the effect of the k_(D)value on the energy resolution of the DPZC trapezoidal(triangular)shaping algorithm was studied.The experimental results show that,with an increase in k_(D),the energy resolution of the system improved and reached the maximum when k_(D)was greater than 10,and the optimal energy resolution of the system was 7.72%. | Huai-Ping Wang Jian-Bin Zhou Xiao-Ping Ouyang Xian-Guo Tuo Xu Hong Yi Liu Jie Yu You-Xian Jin | 2021 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2021,32,8: | 7 |

| 12 | Molecular Weight Controllable Degradation of Laminaria japonica Polysaccharides and Its Antioxidant Properties显示文摘In this study, molecular weight controllable degradation of algal Laminaria japonica polysaccharides(LPS) was investigated by ultrasound combined with hydrogen peroxide. Three main factors, i.e., ultrasonic power(A), ultrasonic time(B), and H_2O_2 concentration(C) were chosen for optimizing parameters by employing three-factors, three-levels BBD. The influence of degradation on structure change and antioxidant activities was also investigated. A second-order polynomial equation including molecular weight(Y) of Laminaria japonica polysaccharides and each variable parameter, i.e., ultrasonic power(A), ultrasonic time(B), and H_2O_2 concentration(C), was established: Y=20718.67-4273.13A-4000.38B-1438.75C+2333.25AB+1511.00AC+873.00BC+2838.29A^2 + 2490.79B^2+873.04C^2. The equation regression coefficient value(R^2 = 0.969) indicated that this equation was valid. The value of the adjusted determination coefficient(adjusted R^2 = 0.914) also confirmed that the model was highly significant. The results of selected experimental degradation conditions matched with the predicted value. FT-IR spectra revealed that the structures of LPS before and after degradation were not significantly changed. Antioxidant activities of LPS revealed that low Mws possessed stronger inhibitory than the original polysaccharides. | 16 | Enhancing bifunctionality of CoN nanowires by Mn doping for long-lasting Zn-air batteries显示文摘Tailoring the nanostructure and composition of transition metal nitrides is highly important for their use as potent low-cost electrocatalysts. Cobalt nitride(CoN) exhibits strong catalytic activity for oxygen evolution reaction(OER). However, its poor catalytic efficiency for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) hinders its application in rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs) as the air cathode. In this work, we deploy the effective strategy of Mn doping to improve both OER and ORR activity of CoN nanowires as the cathode material for ZAB. Theoretical calculation predicts that moderate Mn doping in cobalt nitride results in a downshift of the d-band center and reduces the adsorption energy of reaction intermediates. With ~10 at% Mn dopants, stronger catalysis activities for both OER and ORR are achieved compared to pure CoN nanowires. Subsequently, both aqueous and flexible quasi-solid-state ZABs are constructed using the Mn-doped CoN nanowires array as additive-free air cathode. Both types of devices present large open circuit potential, high power density and long-cycle stability. | 18 | Gaussian shaper for nuclear pulses based on multilevel cascade convolution显示文摘For nuclear measurements,it is necessary to obtain accurate information from nuclear pulses,which should be obtained by first shaping the pulses outputted by the detectors.However,commonly used pulse-shaping algorithms have certain problems.For example,certain pulse-shaping algorithms have long dead-times in high-counting-rate environments or are difficult to achieve in digital systems.Gaussian signals are widely used in analog nuclear instruments owing to their symmetry and completeness.A Gaussian signal is usually implemented by using a multilevel S–K filter in series or in parallel.It is difficult to construct a real-time digital Gaussian filter for the complex Gaussian filtering algorithm.Based on the multilevel cascade convolution,a pulse-shaping algorithm for double exponential signals is proposed in this study,which,in addition to double exponential signals,allows more complex output signal models to be used in the new algorithm.The proposed algorithm can be used in high-counting-rate environments and has been implemented in an FPGA with fewer multipliers than those required in other traditional Gaussian pulse-shaping algorithms.The offline processing results indicated that the average peak base width of the output-shaped pulses obtained using the proposed algorithm was reduced compared with that obtained using the traditional Gaussian pulse-shaping algorithm.Experimental results also demonstrated that signal-to-noise ratios and energy resolutions were improved,particularly for pulses with a low energy.The energy resolution was improved by 0.1–0.2%while improving the counting rate. | Min Wang Jian‑Bin Zhou Xiao‑Ping Ouyang Ying‑Jie Ma Xu Hong | 2022 | Nuclear Science and Techniques2022,33,12: | 3 |

| 20 | Alpha-fetoprotein,protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-Ⅱ,lens culinaris agglutinin-reactive fraction of alpha-fetoprotein alone and in combination for early detection of hepatocellular carcinoma from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease:A multicenter analysis显示文摘Background:Current surveillance strategies for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)among patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)are insufficient.This study aimed to investigate the diagnostic perfor-mance of alpha-fetoprotein(AFP),protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-Ⅱ(PIVKA-Ⅱ),lens culinaris agglutinin-reactive fraction of AFP(AFP-L3),and their combinations in HCC underlying NAFLD patients.Methods:Serologic AFP,AFP-L3,and PIVKA-Ⅱ levels in NAFLD patients with and without HCC were mea-sured.By receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analyses,the area under the curve(AUC),sensitivity,and specificity were obtained to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of each biomarker and their combinations.Results:This study was conducted on 139 patients with NAFLD-HCC and 345 NAFLD controls.The eleva-tion of these three biomarkers was observed in patients with NAFLD-HCC compared to those in NAFLD controls(all P<0.001).When they were analyzed individually,PIVKA-Ⅱ showed the best performance in diagnosing any-stage HCC with an AUC of 0.869,followed by AFP(0.763;vs.PIVKA-Ⅱ,P<0.001)and AFP-L3(0.689;vs.PIVKA-II,P<0.001).When they were analyzed in combination,AFP+PIVKA-Ⅱ yielded the highest AUC(0.906),followed by AFP+PIVKA-II+AFP-L3(0.904;vs.AFP+PIVKA-Ⅱ,P=0.086),PIVKA-Ⅱ+AFP-L3(0.881;vs.AFP+PIVKA-II,P<0.001),and AFP+AFP-L3(0.759;vs.AFP+PIVKA-II,P<0.001).Similar findings were obtained in the subgroup with early-stage NAFLD-HCC,as well as the non-cirrhotic subgroup.Conclusions:These data validated the better diagnostic ability of PIVKA-II than AFP or AFP-L3 alone for diagnosing any-stage HCC among patients with NAFLD,and the combination of AFP+PIVKA-II signifi-cantly improved the diagnostic accuracy of NAFLD-HCC. | Ming-Cheng Guan Wei Ouyang Si-Yu Liu Li-Yang Sun Wei-Yue Chen Xiang-Min Tong Hong Zhu Tian Yang | 2022 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2022,21,6: | 2 |
