2Effect of anisotropic characteristics on the mechanical behavior of asphalt concrete overlay显示文摘Asphalt concrete (AC)overlays placed over old asphalt pavement have become an alternative to repairing and reinforcing pavements.The strength contributed by the AC overlay is strongly influenced by the anisotropic properties of the pavement material.This study was conducted to analyze the influence of anisotropy,modulus gradient properties,and the condition of the AC overlay and old pavement contact plane on the mechanical behaviors of AC overlays,as well as to quantify the influence of the degree of anisotropy on the mechanical behaviors of AC overlay by a sensitivity analysis (SA).The mechanical behaviors of the AC overlay were numerically obtained using the three- dimensional finite element method with the aid of ABAQUS,a commercial program.Variations in the AC overlay's modulus as a function of temperature as well as the contact state between the AC overlay and AC layer were considered. The SA is based on standardized regression coefficients method.Comparing the mechanical behavior in terms of surface deflection,stress,and strain of the anisotropy model against those corresponding to the isotropic model under static loads show that the anisotropic properties had greater effects on the mechanical behavior of the AC overlay.In addition,the maximum shear stress in the AC overlay was the most significant output parameter affected by the degree of anisotropy. 3Review of recycling waste plastics in asphalt paving materials显示文摘An ever-growing demand for depleted natural resources is one of the significant challenges facing the global asphalt pavement industry in building and maintaining global asphalt pavements.Because plastics are ubiquitous in the global economy,they are the latest in a series of high-profile materials to attract attention.Their low material recovery rates and the environmental impact of current disposal methods pose a threat to plastic recycling.Recycling plastic wastes in asphalt pavement is a possible approach to reducing environmental pressure and the demand for depleted natural resources.Many studies have proposed recycling plastic waste in asphalt pavement using dry-and wet-processed technologies.This review aims to comprehensively evaluate the feasibility of various recycled plastics in asphalt pavement concerning the properties of compatibility,storage stability,microstructure,thermo-rheology,and mechanical performance and to identify hallenges and recommendations for the future.This review discusses recent developments and the feasibility of using plastic wastes as modifiers or additives to asphalt binders or asphalt mixtures in dry and wet processes,focusing on different materials from waste streams,how to produce such modified materials,and the characteristics of plastic waste modified asphalt,thus contributing to the sustainable management of resources and production of useful paving materials.Lingyun You Zhengwu Long Zhanping You Dongdong Ge Xu Yang Fu Xu Mohammad Hashemi Aboelkasim Diab 2022Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering(English Edition)2022,9,5:2
4Assessing artificial neural network performance for predicting interlayer conditions and layer modulus of multi-layered flexible pavement显示文摘The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of the artificial neural network(ANN)approach for predicting interlayer conditions and layer modulus of a multi-layered flexible pavement structure.To achieve this goal,two ANN based back-calculation models were proposed to predict the interlayer conditions and layer modulus of the pavement structure.The corresponding database built with ANSYS based finite element method computations for four types of a structure subjected to flling weight deflectometer load.In addition,two proposed ANN models were verifed by comparing the results of ANN models with the results of PADAL and double multiple regression models.The measured pavement deflection basin data was used for the verifications.The comparing results concluded that there are no significant differences between the results estimated by ANN and double multiple regression models.PADAL modeling results were not accurate due to the inability to reflect the real pavement structure because pavement structure was not completely continuous.The prediction and verification results concluded that the proposed back-calculation model developed with ANN could be used to accurately predict layer modulus and interlayer conditions.In addition,the back-calculation model avoided the back-calculation errors by considering the interlayer condition,which was barely considered by former models reported in the published studies.Lingyun YOU Kezhen YAN Nengyuan LIU 2020Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020,14,2:2

6New multi-layer data correlation algorithm for multi-passive-sensor location system显示文摘Under the scenario of dense targets in clutter, a multi-layer optimal data correlation algorithm is proposed. This algorithm eliminates a large number of false location points from the assignment process by rough correlations before we calculate the correlation cost, so it avoids the operations for the target state estimate and the calculation of the correlation cost for the false correlation sets. In the meantime, with the elimination of these points in the rough correlation, the disturbance from the false correlations in the assignment process is decreased, so the data correlation accuracy is improved correspondingly. Complexity analyses of the new multi-layer optimal algorithm and the traditional optimal assignment algorithm are given. 7Geometric origin of intrinsic dark counts in superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors显示文摘The dark count is one of the key physical issues for superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors(SNSPDs)that limits various applications for optical quantum information and classical optics.When the bias current approaches the switching current of SNSPDs,the dark count is actually dominated by the intrinsic dark counts(iDCs).However,the origin of iDCs and its relation to constrictions remains unclear for practical SNSPDs.We herein systematically characterize the iDCs of the SNSPDs with and without artificial geometric constrictions by applying the differential readout method.For these devices with constrictions,we have observed distinct Gaussian distributions in the temporal distribution of iDCs,in which the time difference between the distributions is consistent with the geometric distance between constrictions,and the rates of iDCs produced by each constriction are in good agreement with constrictions'widths.With respect to practical SNSPDs,surprisingly,we also observe several Gaussian distributions in the temporal domain and it shows no significant dependence on the devices’sizes,demonstrating that the iDCs of SNSPDs are mainly dominated by a few specific constrictions.Xingyu Zhang Xiaofu Zhang Jia Huang Can Yang Lixing You Xiaoyu Liu Peng Hu You Xiao Wenying Zhang Yongliang Wang Lingyun Li Zhen Wang Hao Li 2022Superconductivity2022,,1:0
8Anisotropy of multi-layered structure with sliding and bonded interlayer conditions显示文摘A better understanding of the mechanical behavior of the multilayered structure under extermal loading is the most important item for the structural design and the risk asssment.The objective of this study are to propose and develop an analytical solution for the mechanical behaviors of multi-layered structure generated by axisy mmetric loading,and to investigate the impact of anisotropic layers and interlayer conditions on the multi-layered structure.To reach these objectives,first,according to the goveming equations,the analytical solution for a single layer was formulated by adopting the spatial Hankel transform.Then the global matrix technique is applied to achieve the analytical solution of multi-layered structure in Hankel domain.The sliding and bonded interlayer conditions were considered in this process.Finally,the numerical inversion of integral transform was used to solve the components of displacement and stress in real domain.Gauss-Lcgendre quadrature is a key scheme in the numerical inversion process.Moreover,following by the verification of the proposed analytical solution,one typical three-layered flexible pavement was applied as the computing carrier of numerical analysis for the multi-layered structure.The results have shown that the anisotropic layers and the interlayer conditions significantly affect the mechanical behaviors of the proposed structure.Lingyun YOU Kezhen YAN Jianhong MAN Nengyuan LIU 2020Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering2020,14,3:0
9A motion characteristics modeled angular position sensor by nonlinear transfer of differential capacitance for miniaturized scanning mirrors显示文摘In this paper,an angular position sensor(APS)designed for a resonant miniaturized scanning mirror(M-SM)is presented.The APS operates based on the principle of differential variable capacitance,significantly expanding the detectable bandwidth from a few hertz to several kilohertz.By modeling the motion characteristics,the sampling rates of the biaxial scanning angles are 1473.6 times and 539.4 times higher than those of conventional sensors.Initially,the motion characteristics model is presented as a simple harmonic motion,converting sampled capacitance into continuous capacitance.Subsequently,the nonparallel state of the M-SM and sensor is transformed into a parallel state through the space coordinate system transformation.Furthermore,a 2D nonlinear angle transfer function is developed to convert the differential capacitance into an angle,thereby mitigating the nonlinear errors resulting from large angles.Achieving an accuracy better than 0.014°,the measuring range expands from±0.5729°(±10 mrad)to±5.026°(±87 mrad).Additionally,the capturing mode and tracking mode are proposed to monitor real-time angular changes of the M-SM with an accuracy of 0.017°.High-precision APSs have enhanced beam pointing accuracy and resolution and can thereby be used to advance the development of laser components,including light detection and ranging(LiDAR).Songtao Liu Gaofei Zhang Lingyun Zhang Junya Wang Minghao Gong Zheng You 2023Microsystems & Nanoengineering2023,9,6:0
10Probing surface structure on two-dimensional metal-organic layers to understand suppressed interlayer packing显示文摘Two-dimensional metal-organic layers(MOLs)from alternatively connected benzene-tribenzoate ligands and Zr6(μ3-O)_(4)(μ3-OH)_(4) or Hf6(μ3-O)_(4)(μ3-OH)_(4) secondary building units can be prepared in gram scale via solvothermal synthesis.However,the reason why the monolayers did not pack to form thick crystals is unknown.Here we investigated the surface structure of the MOLs by a combination of sum-frequency generation spectroscopy,nanoscale infrared microscopy,atomic force microscopy,aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy,and compositional analysis.We found a partial coverage of the monolayer surface by dangling tricarboxylate ligands,which prevent packing of the monolayers.This finding illustrates low-density surface modification as a strategy to prepare new two-dimensional materials with a high percentage of exposed surface.Peican Chen Yi Liu Xuefu Hu Xiaolin Liu En-Ming You Xudong Qian Jiawei Chen Liangping Xiao Lingyun Cao Xinxing Peng Zhongming Zeng Yibing Jiang Song-Yuan Ding Honggang Liao Zhaohui Wang Da Zhou Cheng Wang 2020Nano Research2020,13,11:0
