| 1 | Semi-tensor product approach to networked evolutionary games显示文摘In this paper a comprehensive introduction for modeling and control of networked evolutionary games(NEGs) via semi-tensor product(STP) approach is presented. First, we review the mathematical model of an NEG, which consists of three ingredients:network graph, fundamental network game, and strategy updating rule. Three kinds of network graphs are considered, which are i) undirected graph for symmetric games; ii) directed graph for asymmetric games, and iii) d-directed graph for symmetric games with partial neighborhood information. Three kinds of fundamental evolutionary games(FEGs) are discussed, which are i) two strategies and symmetric(S-2); ii) two strategies and asymmetric(A-2); and iii) three strategies and symmetric(S-3).Three strategy updating rules(SUR) are introduced, which are i) Unconditional Imitation(UI); ii) Fermi Rule(FR); iii) Myopic Best Response Adjustment Rule(MBRA). First, we review the fundamental evolutionary equation(FEE) and use it to construct network profile dynamics(NPD)of NEGs.To show how the dynamics of an NEG can be modeled as a discrete time dynamics within an algebraic state space, the fundamental evolutionary equation(FEE) of each player is discussed. Using FEEs, the network strategy profile dynamics(NSPD) is built by providing efficient algorithms. Finally, we consider three more complicated NEGs: i) NEG with different length historical information, ii) NEG with multi-species, and iii) NEG with time-varying payoffs. In all the cases, formulas are provided to construct the corresponding NSPDs. Using these NSPDs, certain properties are explored. | 3 | Ionic composition of submicron particles(PM_(1.0)) during the long-lasting haze period in January 2013 in Wuhan, central China显示文摘In January 2013, a long-lasting severe haze episode occurred in Northern and Central China; at its maximum, it covered a land area of approximately 1.4 million km2. In Wuhan, the largest city in Central China, this event was the most severe haze episode in the 21st century. Aerosol samples of submicron particles(PM1.0) were collected during the long-lasting haze episode at an urban site and a suburban site in Wuhan to investigate the ion characteristics of PM1.0 in this area. The mass concentrations of PM1.0 and its water-soluble inorganic ions(WSIIs) were almost at the same levels at two sites, which indicates that PM1.0 pollution occurs on a regional scale in Wuhan. WSIIs(Na+, NH+ 4, K+, Mg2+, Ca2+, Cl-, NO-3and SO2-4) were the dominant chemical species and constituted up to 48.4% and 47.4% of PM1.0 at WD and TH, respectively. The concentrations of PM1.0 and WSIIs on haze days were approximately two times higher than on normal days. The ion balance calculations indicate that the particles were more acidic on haze days than on normal days. | 5 | Clinical significance of germline copy number variation in susceptibility of human diseases显示文摘Germline copy number variation(CNV) is considered to be an important form of human genetic polymorphisms. Previous studies have identified amounts of CNVs in human genome by advanced technologies, such as comparative genomic hybridization, single nucleotide genotyping, and high-throughput sequencing. CNV is speculated to be derived from multiple mechanisms, such as nonallelic homologous recombination(NAHR) and nonhomologous end-joining(NHEJ). CNVs cover a much larger genome scale than single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs), and may alter gene expression levels by means of gene dosage, gene fusion, gene disruption, and long-range regulation effects, thus affecting individual phenotypes and playing crucial roles in human pathogenesis. The number of studies linking CNVs with common complex diseases has increased dramatically in recent years. Here, we provide a comprehensive review of the current understanding of germline CNVs, and summarize the association of germline CNVs with the susceptibility to a wide variety of human diseases that were identified in recent years. | 11 | Estimation of leaf area index from high resolution ZY-3 satellite imagery in a catchment dominated by Larix principis-rupprechtii,northern China显示文摘Leaf area index(LAI) is a key factor that determines a forest ecosystem's net primary production and energy exchange between the atmosphere and land surfaces.LAI can be measured in many ways, but there has been little research to compare LAI estimated by different methods. In this study, we compared the LAI results from two different approaches, i.e., the dimidiate pixel model(DPM) and an empirical statistic model(ESM) using ZY-3 high-accuracy satellite images validated by field data. We explored the relationship of LAI of Larix principis-rupprechtii Mayr plantations with topographic conditions. The results show that DPM improves the simulation of LAI(r = 0.86,RMSE = 0.57) compared with ESM(r = 0.62, RMSE =0.79). We further concluded that elevation and slope significantly affect the distribution of LAI. The maximum peak of LAI appeared at an aspect of east and southeast at an elevation of 1700–2000 m. Our results suggest that ZY-3 can satisfy the needs of quantitative monitoring of leaf area indices in small-scale catchment areas. | 15 | HB-PLS:A statistical method for identifying biological process or pathway regulators by integrating Huber loss and Berhu penalty with partial least squares regression显示文摘Gene expression data features high dimensionality,multicollinearity,and non-Gaussian distribution noise,posing hurdles for identification of true regulatory genes controlling a biological process or pathway.In this study,we integrated the Huber loss function and the Berhu penalty(HB)into partial least squares(PLS)framework to deal with the high dimension and multicollinearity property of gene expression data,and developed a new method called HB-PLS regression to model the relationships between regulatory genes and pathway genes.To solve the Huber-Berhu optimization problem,an accelerated proximal gradient descent algorithm with at least 10 times faster than the general convex optimization solver(CVX),was developed.Application of HB-PLS to recognize pathway regulators of lignin biosynthesis and photosynthesis in Arabidopsis thaliana led to the identification of many known positive pathway regulators that had previously been experimentally validated.As compared to sparse partial least squares(SPLS)regression,an efficient method for variable selection and dimension reduction in handling multicollinearity,HB-PLS has higher efficacy in identifying more positive known regulators,a much higher but slightly less sensitivity/(1-specificity)in ranking the true positive known regulators to the top of the output regulatory gene lists for the two aforementioned pathways.In addition,each method could identify some unique regulators that cannot be identified by the other methods.Our results showed that the overall performance of HB-PLS slightly exceeds that of SPLS but both methods are instrumental for identifying real pathway regulators from high-throughput gene expression data,suggesting that integration of statistics,machine leaning and convex optimization can result in a method with high efficacy and is worth further exploration. | Wenping Deng Kui Zhang Cheng He Sanzhen Liu Hairong Wei | 2021 | Forestry Research2021,1,1: | 1 |
