3Genome assembly of wild loquat (Eriobotrya japonica) and resequencing provide new insights into the genomic evolution and fruit domestication in loquat显示文摘Wild loquats(Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)provide remarkable genetic resources for studying domestication and breeding improved varieties.Herein,we generate the first high-quality chromosome-level genome assembly of wild loquat,with 45791 predicted proteincoding genes.Analysis of comparative genomics indicated that loquat shares a common ancestor with apple and pear,and a recent whole-genome duplication event occurred in loquat prior to its divergence.Genome resequencing showed that the loquat germplasms can be distinctly classified into wild and cultivated groups,and the commercial cultivars have experienced allelic admixture.Compared with cultivated loquats,the wild loquat genome showed very few selected genomic regions and had higher levels of genetic diversity.However,whole-genome scans of selective sweeps were mainly related to fruit quality,size,and f lesh color during the domestication process.Large-scale transcriptome and metabolome analyses were further performed to identify differentially expressed genes(DEGs)and differentially accumulated metabolites(DAMs)in wild and cultivated loquats at various fruit development stages.Unlike those in wild loquat,the key DEGs and DAMs involved in carbohydrate metabolism,plant hormone signal transduction,f lavonoid biosynthesis,and carotenoid biosynthesis were significantly regulated in cultivated loquats during fruit development.These high-quality reference genome,resequencing,and large-scale transcriptome/metabolome data provide valuable resources for elucidating fruit domestication and molecular breeding in loquat.Danlong Jing Xinya Liu Qiao He Jiangbo Dang Ruoqian Hu Yan Xia Di Wu Shuming Wang Yin Zhang Qingqing Xia Chi Zhang Yuanhui Yu Qigao Guo Guolu Liang 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,2:0
4Ultra-high spectral purity laser derived from weak external distributed perturbation显示文摘Ultra-high spectral purity lasers are of considerable research interests in numerous fields such as coherent optical communication,microwave photonics,distributed optical fiber sensing,gravitational wave detection,optical clock,and so on.Herein,to deeply purify laser spectrum with compact size under normal condition,we propose a novel and practical idea to effectively suppress the spontaneous radiation of the laser cavity through weak external distributed perturbation.Subsequently,a laser configuration consisting of a main lasing cavity and an external distributed feedback cavity is proposed.The feedback signal with continuous spatio-temporal phase transition controlled by a distributed feedback structure is injected into the main cavity,which can deeply suppress the coupling rate from the spontaneous radiation to the stimulated emission and extremely purify the laser spectrum.Eventually,an ultra-narrow linewidth on-chip laser system with a side mode suppression ratio greater than 80 dB,an output linewidth of 10 Hz,and a relative intensity noise less than-150 dB/Hz is successfully obtained under normal conditions.The proposed concept in this work provides a new perspective for extreme regulation of laser parameters by using weak external distributed perturbation,which can be valid for various gain-type lasers with wide wavelength bands.Laiyang Dang Ligang Huang Leilei Shi Fuhui Li Guolu Yin Lei Gao Tianyi Lan Yujia Li Lidan Jiang Tao Zhu 2023Opto-Electronic Advances2023,6,2:0
5Deep learning-based subseasonal to seasonal precipitation prediction in southwest China:Algorithm comparison and sensitivity to input features显示文摘The prediction of precipitation at subseasonal to seasonal(S2S)timescales remains an enormous challenge because of the gap between weather and climate predictions.This study compares three deep learning algorithms,namely,the long short-term memory recurrent(LSTM),gated recurrent unit(GRU),and recurrent neural network(RNN),and selects the optimal algorithm to establish an S2S precipitation prediction model.The models were evaluated in four subregions of the Sichuan Province:the Plateau,Valley,eastern Basin,and western Basin.The results showed that the RNN model had better performance than the LSTM and GRU models.This could be because the RNN model had an advantage over the LSTM model in the transformation of climate indices with positive and negative variations.In the validation of test datasets,the RNN model successfully predicted the precipitation trend in most years during the wet season(May-October).The RNN model had a lower prediction bias(within±10%),higher sign accuracy of the precipitation trend(~88.95%),and greater accuracy of the maximum precipitation month(>0.85).For the prediction of different lead times,the RNN model was able to provide a stable trend prediction for summer precipitation,and the time correlation coefficient score was higher than that of the National Climate Center of China.Furthermore,this study proposed a method to measure the sensitivity of the RNN model to different input features,which may provide unprecedented insights into the nonlinear relationship and complicated feedback process among climate systems.The results of the sensitivity distribution are as follows.First,the Niño 4 and Niño 3.4 indices were equally important for the prediction of wet season precipitation.Second,the sensitivity of the snow cover on the Tibetan Plateau was higher than that in the Northern Hemisphere.Third,an opposite sensitivity appeared in two different patterns of the Indian Ocean and sea ice concentrations in the Arctic and the Barents Sea.GuoLu Gao Yang Li XueYun Zhou XiaoMing Xiang JiaQi Li ShuCheng Yin 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,4:0
6Dynamics of a dispersion-tuned swept-fiber laser显示文摘In this paper,we studied the dynamics of a dispersion-tuned swept-fiber laser both experimentally and theoretically.By adding a dispersion compensation fiber and an electro-optic modulator in the laser cavity,an actively mode-locked laser was obtained by using intensity modulation,and wavelength sweeping was realized by changing the modulation frequency.Using a high-speed real-time oscilloscope,the dynamic behaviors of the swept laser were investigated during wavelength switching,static-sweeping cycle,and continuous sweeping,respectively.It was found that the laser generates relaxation oscillation at the start of the sweeping mode.The relaxation oscillation process lasted for about 0.7 ms,and then the laser started to operate stably.Due to the nonlinear effect,new wavelengths were generated in the relaxation oscillation process,which is not beneficial for applications.Fortunately,relaxation oscillation disappears if the laser starts up and operates in the continuous sweeping mode,and the good sweeping symmetry between the positive sweep and negative sweep increases the application potential of the laser.In addition,the instantaneous linewidth is almost the same as that in the static state.These results describe the characteristics of the laser from a new perspective and reveal,to the best our knowledge,the intensity dynamics of such lasers for the first time.This paper provides some new research basis for understanding the establishment process of dispersion-tuned swept-fiber lasers and their potential application in the future.DUIDUI LI GUOLU YIN LIGANG HUANG LEI GAO LAIYANG DANG ZEHENG ZHANG JINGSHENG HUANG HUAFENG LU TAO ZHU 2023Photonics Research2023,11,6:0
