1Endoscopic submucosal dissection for premalignant lesions and noninvasive early gastrointestinal cancers显示文摘AIM: To investigate the indication, feasibility, safety, and clinical utility of endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) in the management of various gastrointestinal pathologies. METHODS: The medical records of 60 consecutive patients (34 female, 26 male) who underwent ESD at the gastroenterology department of Kocaeli University from 2006-2010 were examined. Patients selected for ESDhad premalignant lesions or non-invasive early cancers of the gastrointestinal tract and had endoscopic and histological diagnoses. Early cancers were considered to be confined to the submucosa, with no lymph node involvement by means of computed tomography and endosonography. RESULTS: Sixty ESD procedures were performed. The indications were epithelial lesions (n = 39) (33/39 adenoma with high grade dysplasia, 6/39 adenoma with low grade dysplasia), neuroendocrine tumor (n = 7), cancer (n = 7) (5/7 early colorectal cancer, 2/7 early gastric cancer), granular cell tumor (n = 3), gastrointestinal stromal tumor (n = 2), and leiomyoma (n = 2). En bloc and piecemeal resection rates were 91.6% (55/60) and 8.3% (5/60), respectively. Complete and incomplete resection rates were 96.6% (58/60) and 3.3% (2/60), respectively. Complications were major bleeding [n = 3 (5%)] and perforations [n = 5 (8.3%)] (4 colon, 1 stomach). Two patients with colonic perforations and two patients with submucosal lymphatic and microvasculature invasion (1 gastric carcinoid tumor, 1 colonic adenocarcinoma) were referred to surgery. During a mean follow-up of 12 mo, 1 patient with adenoma with high grade dysplasia underwent a second ESD procedure to resect a local recurrence. CONCLUSION: ESD is a feasible and safe method for treatment of premalignant lesions and early malignant gastrointestinal epithelial and subepithelial lesions. Successful en bloc and complete resection of lesions yield high cure rates with low recurrence.Sadettin Hulagu Omer Senturk Cem Aygun Orhan Kocaman Altay Celebi Tolga Konduk Deniz Koc Goktug Sirin Ugur Korkmaz Ali Erkan Duman Neslihan Bozkurt Gokhan Dindar Tan Attila Yesim Gurbuz Orhan TarcinDivision of Gastroenterology Derince State Hospital Kocaeli 41900 Turkey Cem Kalayci 2011World Journal of Gastroenterology2011,17,13:23

5Physiochemical Composition of Fig Seed Oil from Turkey显示文摘Fig (Ficus carica Linn (Moraceae)) is a deciduous tree that grows in tropical and subtropical zones [1]. Ficus carica has a broad spectrum of pharmacological activity and is widely used in traditional medicine. Research has found its use in more than 40 areas. Some of these are gastrointestinal, endocrine, respiratory, reproductive system disorders [2]. The fig seed oil contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is highly beta-sitosterol and herbal omega [3]. It can be used as a supplement in the treatment of diseases such as cardiovascular disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and diabetes. Fig seed oil can be a good choice for skin hydration when used externally. In our study, the fig seed oil was analyzed by gas and liquid chromatography. In this study where linoleic acid (C18:2) and linolenic acid (C20:0) ratios found in fig seed oil composition were evaluated, the health benefits of two fatty acids were discussed based on the literature.Nazan Güven Ali Gokyer Aysenur Koc Naime Nur Temiz Seher Selvi Beril Koparal Burcak Deniz Dedeoglu Sidika Büyükhelvacigil Oztürk Hale Feyza Büyükhelvacigil Ramazan Büyükhelvacigil Ceren Erman 2019Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology2019,7,10:0
6Therapeutic Trials of Nigella sativa显示文摘Nigella sativa (NS)(Ranunculaceae family) is generally utilized as a therapeutic plant all over the world. The seeds of the plant have a long history of use in different frameworks of medicines and food. N. sativa seeds reveal a broad spectrum of pharmacological activities including immunopotentiation and antihistaminic, antiseptic, antiallergic, anti-hypertensive, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activities. It is known as a source of thymoquinone (TQ), thymohydroquinone, dithymoquinone, p-cymene, carvacrol, 4-terpineol, t-anethol, sesquiterpene longifolene, nigellicimine and nigellicimine-N-oxide,α-pinene and thymol etc. Additionally, this is uncovered that the majority of therapeutic properties of this plant are due to the presence of thymoquinone which is a major bioactive component of the essential oil. The incalculable medicinal properties and therapeutic uses of N. sativa prove its importance as a valuable medicinal plant. The aim of this review is to summarize some important pharmacological studies and phytochemical investigations on N. sativa and isolated principles which can be investigated further to get novel molecules in the search of novel herbal drugs.Aysenur Koc Nazan Guven S1d1ka Buyukhelvac1gil Ozturk1 Burcak Deniz Dedeoglu Hale Feyza Buyukhelvacigil Ramazan Buyukhelvac1gil Beril Koparal 2019Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmacology2019,7,11:0
