Prognostic nutritional index predicts postoperative complications and long-term outcomes of gastric cancer显示文摘AIM:To investigate the impact of prognostic nutritional index(PNI)on the postoperative complications and long-term outcomes in gastric cancer patients undergoing total gastrectomy.METHODS:The data for 386 patients with gastric cancer were extracted and analyzed between January2003 and December 2008 in our center. The patients were divided into two groups according to the cutoff value of the PNI:those with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46.Clinicopathological features were compared between the two groups and potential prognostic factors were analyzed. The relationship between postoperative complications and PNI was analyzed by logistic regression. The univariate and multivariate hazard ratios were calculated using the Cox proportional hazard model.RESULTS:The optimal cutoff value of the PNI was set at 46,and patients with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46 were classified into PNI-high and PNI-low groups, respectively.Patients in the PNI-low group were more likely to have advanced tumor(T),node(N),and TNM stages than patients in the PNI-high group. The low PNI is an independent risk factor for the incidence of postoperative complications(OR=2.223).The 5-year overall survival(OS)rates were 54.1%and21.1%for patients with a PNI≥46 and those with a PNI<46,respectively.The OS rates were significantly lower in the PNI-low group than in the PNI-high group among patients with stagesⅡ(P=0.001)andⅢ(P<0.001)disease.CONCLUSION:The PNI is a simple and useful marker not only to identify patients at increased risk for postoperative complications, but also to predict long-term survival after total gastrectomy. The PNI should be included in the routine assessment of advanced gastric cancer patients.Nan Jiang Jing-Yu Deng Xue-Wei Ding Bin Ke Ning Liu Ru-Peng Zhang Han Liang 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,30:41

Dynamic attack zone of air-to-air missile after being launched in random wind field显示文摘A new concept is presented for air-to-air missile which is dynamic attack zone after being launched in random wind field. This new concept can be used to obtain the 4-dimensional(4-D)information regarding the dynamic envelope of an air-to-air missile at any flight time aimed at different flight targets considering influences of random wind, in the situation of flight fighters cooperated with missiles fighting against each other. Based on an air-to-air missile model, some typical cases of dynamic attack zone after being launched in random wind field were numerically simulated.Compared with the simulation results of traditional dynamic envelope, the properties of dynamic attack zone after being launched are as follows. The 4-D dynamic attack zone after being launched is inside traditional maximum dynamic envelope, but its forane boundary is usually not inside traditional no-escape dynamic envelope; Traditional dynamic attack zone can just be reliably used at launch time, while dynamic envelope after being launched can be reliably and accurately used during any flight antagonism time. Traditional envelope is a special case of dynamic envelope after being launched when the dynamic envelope is calculated at the launch time; the dynamic envelope after being launched can be influenced by the random wind field.Hui Yaoluo Nan Ying Chen Shaodong Ding Quanxin Wu Shengliang 2015Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2015,28,5:16

Evolution of regional transport dominance in China 1910-2012显示文摘Transport infrastructure plays an important role in shaping the configuration of spatial socio-economic structures and influencing regional accessibility. Although China's transport infrastructure has been experiencing a rapid development in the last 100 years, there lacks a systematic examination of the complete evolution history of China's transport development, particularly with all kinds of transport modes. This paper first aims to clarify the history of China's transportation from 1910 to 2012, and divides its evolution process into five periods(1911, 1935, 1953, 1981 and 2012) whereby each period represents the preliminary development time for each transport mode. Second, the paper calculates the transport dominance and analyses its spatial distribution in each period, with county as the basic analysis unit. Transport dominance here is defined as an integrated indicator for evaluating regional transport conditions. The results demonstrate the following:(1) areas with relative good transport dominance have expanded from scattered dots such as Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangzhou in 1911 to extensive areas with each provincial city as cores in 2012;(2) transport development is improved by advances in transportation technology. The construction of modern transport infrastructures such as seaports, airports, high-speed rails(HSRs), and freeways lead the expansion of national territorial areas with good and excellent transport dominance and the increase of the value of transport dominance over time;(3) transport dominance is spatially unevenly distributed and exhibits resemblance with the expansion of transport network, which is closely related to China's socio-economic development and policies.HU Hao WANG Jiaoe JIN Fengjun DING Nan 2015Journal of Geographical Sciences2015,25,6:12
Some Remarks on Projective Generators and Injective Cogenerators显示文摘In this paper,we give a relationship between projective generators(resp.,injective cogenerators) in the category of R-modules and the counterparts in the category of complexes of R-modules.As a consequence,we get that complexes of W-Gorenstein modules are actually W-Gorenstein complexes whenever W is a subcategory of R-modules satisfying W⊥W,where W is the subcategory of exact complexes with all cycles in W.We also study when all cycles of a W-Gorenstein complexes are W-Gorenstein modules.Li LIANG Nan Qing DING Gang YANG 2014Acta Mathematica Sinica,English Series2014,30,12:11

Advances in fabrication of ceramic corundum abrasives based on sol–gel process显示文摘Corundum abrasives with good chemical stability can be fabricated into various free abrasives and bonded abrasive tools that are widely used in the precision machining of various parts. However, these abrasives cannot satisfy the machining requirements of difficult-to-machine materials with high hardness, high strength, and strong wearing resistance.Although superhard abrasives can machine the above-mentioned materials, their dressing and manufacturing costs are high.By contrast, ceramic corundum abrasives fabricated by sol–gel method is a costeffective product between conventional and superhard abrasives.Ceramic corundum abrasives exhibit self-sharpening and high toughness. In this review, the optimization methods of ceramic corundum abrasive properties are introduced from three aspects:precursor synthesis, particle shaping, and sintering.Firstly, the functional mechanism of seeds and additives on the microstructural and mechanical properties of abrasives is analyzed.Specifically, seeds can reduce the phase transition temperature and improve fracture toughness. The grain size and uniformly dense structure can be controlled by applying an appropriate amount of multicomponent additives. Then, the urgent need of engineering application and machinability of special shape ceramic corundum abrasives is reviewed, and three methods of abrasive shaping are summarized. The micromold replication technique is highly advanced and can be used to prepare functional abrasives.Additionally, the influence of a new sintering method,namely,two-step sintering technique,on the microstructural and mechanical performance of ceramic corundum abrasives is summarized. Finally, the challenge and developmental trend of the optimization of ceramic corundum abrasives are prospected.Baoteng HUANG Changhe LI Yanbin ZHANG Wenfeng DING Min YANG Yuying YANG Han ZHAI Xuefeng XU Dazhong WANG Sujan DEBNATH Muhammad JAMIL Hao Nan Li Hafiz Muhammad ALI Munish Kumar GUPTA Zafar SAID 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,6:11
Ganoderma lucidum extract ameliorates MPTP-induced parkinsonism and protects dopaminergic neurons from oxidative stress via regulating mitochondrial function, autophagy, and apoptosis显示文摘Neuroprotection targeting mitochondrial dysfunction has been proposed as an important therapeutic strategy for Parkinson's disease. Ganoderma lucidum (GL) has emerged as a novel age nt that protects neurons from oxidative stress. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying GL-induced neuroprotection have not been documented. In this study, we investigated the neuroprotective effects of GL extract (GLE) and the underlying mechanisms in the classic MPTP(1 -methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6- tetrahydropyridine)-induced mouse model of PD. Mice were injected with MPTP to in duce parkins on ism. The n the mice were administered GLE (400 mg kg^-1 d^-1,ig) for 4 weeks. We observed that GLE administration significantly improved locomotor performanee and increased tyrosine hydroxylase expression in the substantia nigra pars compact (SNpc) of MPTP-treated mice. In in vitro study, treatment of neuroblastoma neuro-2a cells with 1 -methyl-4-phenyIpyridinium (MPP^+, 1 mmol/L) caused mitochondrial membrane potential collapse, radical oxygen species accumulation, and ATP depletion. Application of GLE (800 pg/mL) protected n euroblastoma neu ro-2a cells agai nst MPP in suit. Application of GLE also improved mitochondrial movement dysfunction in cultured primary mesencephalic neurons. In addition, GLE counteracted the decline in NIX (also called BNIP3L) expression and increase in the LC3-II/LC3-I ratio evoked by MPP I Moreover, GLE reactivated MPP^+-inhibited AMPK, mTOR, and ULK1. Similarly, GLE was sufficient to counteract MPP1 -induced inhibition of PINK1 and Parkin expression. GLE suppressed MPP^+-induced cytochrome C release and activation of caspase-3 and caspase-9. In summary, our results provide evidence that GLE ameliorates parkinsonism pathology via regulating mitochondrial function, autophagy, and apoptosis, which may involve the activation of both the AMPK/mTOR and PINK1/Parkin signaling pathway.Zhi-li Ren Chao-dong Wang Tao Wang Hui Ding Ming Zhou Nan Yang Yan-yong Liu Piu Chan 2019Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2019,40,4:10
Effect of complication grade on survival following curative gastrectomy for carcinoma显示文摘AIM: To elucidate the potential impact of the grade of complications on long-term survival of gastric cancer patients after curative surgery.METHODS: A total of 751 gastric cancer patients who underwent curative gastrectomy between January 2002 and December 2006 in our center were enrolled in this study. Patients were divided into four groups: no complications, Grade Ⅰ, Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ complications, according to the following classification systems: T92(Toronto 1992 or Clavien), Accordion Classification, and Revised Accordion Classification. Clinicopathological features were compared amongthe four groups and potential prognostic factors were analyzed. The Log-rank test was used to assess statistical differences between the groups. Independent prognostic factors were identified using the Cox proportional hazards regression model. Stratified analysis was used to investigate the impact of complications of each grade on survival.RESULTS: Significant differences were found among the four groups in age, sex, other diseases(including hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), body mass index(BMI), intraoperative blood loss, tumor location, extranodal metastasis, lymph node metastasis, tumor-node-metastasis(TNM) stage, and chemotherapy. Overall survival(OS) was significantly influenced by the complication grade. The 5-year OS rates were 43.0%, 42.5%, 25.5% and 9.6% for no complications, and GradeⅠ, Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ complications, respectively(P < 0.001). Age, tumor size, intraoperative blood loss, lymph node metastasis, TNM stage and complication grade were independent prognostic factors in multivariate analysis. With stratified analysis, lymph node metastasis, tumor size, and intraoperative blood loss were independent prognostic factors for Grade Ⅰ complications(P < 0.001, P = 0.031, P = 0.030). Age and lymph node metastasis were found to be independent prognostic factors for OS of gastric cancer patients with Grade Ⅱ complications(P = 0.034, P = 0.001). Intraoperative blood loss, TNM stage, and chemotherapy were independent prognostic factors for OS of gastric cancer patients with Grade Ⅲ complications(P = 0.003, P = 0.005, P < 0.001). There were significant differences among patients with GradeⅠ, Grade Ⅱ and Grade Ⅲ complications in TNM stage Ⅱ and Ⅲ cancer(P < 0.001, P = 0.001).CONCLUSION: Complication grade may be an independent prognostic factor for gastric cancer following curative resection. Treatment of complications can improve the long-term outcome of gastric cancer patients.Nan Jiang Jing-Yu Deng Xue-Wei Ding Li Zhang Hong-Gen Liu Yue-Xiang Liang Han Liang 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,25:9
Ginsenoside Rb1 Attenuates Isoflurane/surgery-induced Cognitive Dysfunction via Inhibiting Neuroinflammation and Oxidative Stress显示文摘Objective Anesthetic isoflurane plus surgery has been reported to induce cognitive impairment. The underlying mechanism and targeted intervention remain largely to be determined. Ginsenoside Rb1 was reported to be neuroprotective. We therefore set out to determine whether ginsenoside Rb1 can attenuate isoflurane/surgery-induced cognitive dysfunction via inhibiting neuroinflammation and oxidative stress. Methods Five-months-old C57BL/6J female mice were treated with 1.4% isoflurane plus abdominal surgery for two hours. Sixty mg/kg ginsenoside Rb1 were given intraperitoneally from 7 days before surgery. Cognition of the mice were assessed by Barnes Maze. Levels of postsynaptic density-95 and synaptophysin in mice hippocampus were measured by Western blot. Levels of reactive oxygen species, tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 in mice hippocampus were measured by ELISA. Results Here we show for the first time that the ginsenoside Rb1 treatment attenuated the isoflurane/surgery-induced cognitive impairment. Moreover, ginsenoside Rb1 attenuated the isoflurane/surgery-induced synapse dysfunction. Finally, ginsenoside Rb1 mitigated the isoflurane/surgery-induced elevation levels of reactive oxygen species, tumor necrosis factor-α and interleukin-6 in the mice hippocampus. Conclusion These results suggest that ginsenoside Rb1 may attenuate the isoflurane/surgery-induced cognitive impairment by inhibiting neuroinflammation and oxidative stress pending future studies.MIAO Hui Hui ZHANG Ye DING Guan Nan HONG Fang Xiao DONG Peng TIAN Ming 2017Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2017,30,5:9
Ginsenoside Rg1 Attenuates Isoflurane-induced Caspase-3 Activation via Inhibiting Mitochondrial Dysfunction显示文摘Objective The inhalation anesthetic isoflurane has been shown to induce mitochondrial dysfunction and caspase activation, which may lead to learning and memory impairment. Ginsenoside Rg1 is reported to be neuroprotective. We therefore set out to determine whether ginsenoside Rg1 can attenuate isoflurane-induced caspase activation via inhibiting mitochondrial dysfunction. Methods We investigated the effects of ginsenoside Rg1 at concentrations of 12.5, 25, and 50 μmol/L and pretreatment times of 12 h and 24 h on isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation in H4 na?ve and stably transfected H4 human neuroglioma cells that express full-length human amyloid precursor protein(APP)(H4-APP cells). For mitochondrial dysfunction, we assessed mitochondrial permeability transition pore(m PTP) and adenosine-5'-triphosphate(ATP) levels. We employed Western blot analysis, chemiluminescence, and flowcytometry. Results Here we show that pretreatment with 50 μmol/L ginsenoside Rg1 for 12 h attenuated isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation and mitochondrial dysfunction in H4-APP cells, while pretreatment with 25 and 50 μmol/L ginsenoside Rg1 for 24 h attenuated isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation and mitochondrial dysfunction in both H4 na?ve and H4-APP cells. Conclusion These data suggest that ginsenoside Rg1 may ameliorate isoflurane-induced caspase-3 activation by inhibiting mitochondrial dysfunction. Pending further studies, these findings might recommend the use of ginsenoside Rg1 in preventing and treating isoflurane-induced neurotoxicity.MIAO Hui Hui ZHEN Yu DING Guan Nan HONG Fang Xiao XIE Zhong Cong TIAN Ming 2015Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2015,28,2:9
CD147-spike protein is a novel route for SARS-CoV-2 infection to host cells显示文摘In face of the everlasting battle toward COVID-19 and the rapid evolution of SARS-CoV-2,no specific and effective drugs for treating this disease have been reported until today.Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2(ACE2),a receptor of SARS-CoV-2,mediates the virus infection by binding to spike protein.Although ACE2 is expressed in the lung, kidney, and intestine, its expressing levels are rather low, especially in the lung.Considering the great infectivity of COVID-19,we speculate that SARS-CoV-2 may depend on other routes to facilitate its infection. Here,we first discover an interaction between host cell receptor CD147 and SARS-CoV-2 spike protein. The loss of CD147 or blocking CD147 in Vero E6 and BEAS-2B cell lines by anti-CD147 antibody,Meplazumab, inhibits SARSCoV-2 amplification.Expression of human CD147 allows virus entry into non-susceptible BHK-21 cells, which can be neutralized by CD147 extracellular fragment.Viral loads are detectable in the lungs of human CD147(hCD147)mice infected with SARS-CoV-2,but not in those of virus-infected wild type mice.Interestingly, virions are observed in lymphocytes of lung tissue from a COVID-19 patient.Human T cells with a property of ACE2 natural deficiency can be infected with SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus in a dosedependent manner, which is specifically inhibited by Meplazumab.Furthermore,CD147 mediates virus entering host cells by endocytosis.Together, our study reveals a novel virus entry route,CD147-spike protein, which provides an important target for developing specific and effective drug against COVID-19.Ke Wang Wei Chen Zheng Zhang Yongqiang Deng Jian-Qi Lian Peng Du Ding Wei Yang Zhang Xiu-Xuan Sun Li Gong Xu Yang Lei He Lei Zhang Zhiwei Yang Jie-Jie Geng Ruo Chen Hai Zhang Bin Wang Yu-Meng Zhu Gang Nan Jian-Li Jiang Ling Li Jiao Wu Peng Lin Wan Huang Liangzhi Xie Zhao-Hui Zheng Kui Zhang Jin-Lin Miao Hong-Yong Cui Min Huang Jun Zhang Ling Fu Xiang-Min Yang Zhongpeng Zhao Shihui Sun Hongjing Gu Zhe Wang Chun-Fu Wang Yacheng Lu Ying-Ying Liu Qing-Yi Wang Huijie Bian Ping Zhu Zhi-Nan Chen 2020Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2020,5,1:9
Variation in cis-regulation of a NAC transcription factor contributes to drought tolerance in wheat显示文摘Drought is a major environmental factor limiting wheat production worldwide, and developing drought-tolerant cultivars is a central challenge for wheat breeders globally. Therefore,it is important to identify genetic components determining drought tolerance in wheat. In this study,we identified a wheat NAC gene(TaNAC071-A)that is tightly associated with drought tolerance by a genome-wide association study.Knockdown of TaNAC071-A in wheat attenuated plant drought tolerance, whereas its overexpression significantly enhanced drought tolerance through improved water-use efficiency and increased expression of stress-responsive genes. This heightened water-saving mechanism mitigated the yield loss caused by water deficit.Further candidate gene association analysis showed that a 108-bp insertion in the promoter of TaNAC071-A alters its expression level and contributes to variation in drought tolerance among wheat accessions. This insertion contains two MYB cis-regulatory elements(CREs)that can be directly bound by the MYB transcription activator,TaMYBL1,thereby leading to increased TaNAC071-A expression and plant drought tolerance.Importantly, introgression of this 108-bp insertion allele,TaNAC071-AIn-693,into drought-sensitive cultivars could improve their drought tolerance, demonstrating that it is a valuable genetic resource for wheat breeding.Taken together, our findings highlight a major breakthrough in determining the genetic basis underlying phenotypic variation in wheat drought tolerance and showcase the potential of exploiting CRE-containing indels for improving important agronomical traits.Hude Mao Shumin Li Bin Chen Chao Jian Fangming Mei Yifang Zhang Fangfang Li Nan Chen Tian Li Linying Du Li Ding Zhongxue Wang Xinxiu Cheng Xiaojing Wang Zhensheng Kang 2022Molecular Plant2022,15,2:9
Integrated modeling environment and a preliminary application on the Heihe River Basin, China显示文摘Environmental and water issues are essentially complex interdisciplinary problems. Multiple models from different disciplines are usually integrated to solve those problems. Integrated modeling environment is an effective technical approach to model integration. Although a number of modeling environments worldwide are available, they cannot meet current challenges faced. Their old-fashion designs and original development purposes constrain their possible applications to the domain of hydrologic or land surface modeling. One of the challenges is that we intend to link knowledge database or ontology system to the modeling environment in order to make the modeling support more intelligent and powerful. In this paper, we designed and implemented an integrated modeling environment (HIME) for hydrological and land surface modeling purpose in a much extendable, efficient and easy use manner. With such design, a physical process was implemented as a module, or component. A new model can be generated in an intuitive way by linking module icons together and establishing their relationships. Following an introduction to the overall architecture, the designs for module linkage and data transfer between modules are described in details. Using XML based meta-information, modules in either source codes or binary form can be utilized by the environment. As a demonstration, with the help of HIME, we replaced the evaporation module of TOPMODEL with the evapotranspiration module from the Noah land surface model which explicitly accounts for vegetation transpiration. This example showed the effectiveness and efficiency of the modeling environment on model integration.NAN ZhuoTong SHU LeLe ZHAO YanBo LI Xin DING YongJian 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,8:8
Impact of CYP3A4*1G Polymorphism on Fentanyl Analgesia Assessed by Analgesia Nociception Index in Chinese Patients Undergoing Hysteroscopy显示文摘Background:The clinical efficacy of fentanyl for pain control differs greatly across individuals. The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of CYP3A4*1G polymorphism including wild-type homozygote (CYP3A4*1/*1,GG),mutant heterozygote (CYP3A4*1/*1G,GA),and mutant homozygote (CYP3A4*1G/*1G,AA)on fentanyl analgesia in Chinese patients undergoing hysteroscopy by the assessment of analgesia nociception index (ANI). Methods:A total of 200 gynecologic patients scheduled for elective hysteroscopy under general anesthesia at Peking University People's Hospital from May to December in 2017 were enrolled in this study.Venous blood was withdrawn for genotyping of CYP3A4*1G before operation.Fentanyl 1μg/kg was administered preoperatively followed by target-controlled infusion of propofol for induction and maintenance.Intraoperative analgesic efficacy of fentanyl was assessed by ANI monitoring at T0(entering room),T1(cervical dilation), T2(start of cervical aspiration),and T3(end of cervical aspiration)time points. The duration of propofol infusion and total dosage of propofol were recorded as well. Results:The patients were divided into three groups according to CYP3A4*1G polymorphism, including 143 in GG group,47in GA group, and 10 in AA group. There was no significant difference in clinical demographics among three groups. The frequency of CYP3A4*1G variant alleles accounted for 16.8%and the distribution of variant alleles was consistent with Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium.Using a multilevel model,ANI values at T1(63.81±19.61),T2(63.63±17.82),and T3(65.68±17.79)were significantly lower than that at T0 (77.16±12.93)in the study population (F =23.50,P <0.001),suggesting that higher levels of pain at T 1,T2,and T3 than T0.Patients with GG genotype showed significantly lower ANI than those with GA or AA genotypes during hysteroscopy under the same dose of fentanyl. Conclusion:CYP3A4*1G polymorphism associated with the analgesic efficacy of intraoperative fentanyl in the patients undergoing hysteroscopy under general anesthesia.Qi Yan Yi Su Lan Gao Nan Ding Hong-Ying Zhang Wen E Yue Wang Yi Feng Hai-Yan An 2018Chinese Medical Journal2018,,22:8
Simplified equivalent models of large-scale wind power and their application on small-signal stability显示文摘With the rapid growth of grid-connected wind power penetration level,it is necessary to study the impacts of wind power on power system stability. The small-signal stability of power systems with large-scale wind power is explored using the eigenvalue analysis method.A prototype sample system, the two-synchronous-generator system with a wind farm,is proposed for theoretical analysis. Then, simplified models of wind turbines(WTs)and the corresponding equivalent models of wind farms are analyzed.Three kinds of typical WT models,i.e.,squirrel cage induction generator,doubly-fed induction generator, and permanent magnet synchronous generator are used.Furthermore, based on the simplified equivalent models, effects of large-scale wind farms on the electromechanical oscillation modes(EOMs)of synchronous systems are discussed.Simulation results indicate that wind farms of the three kinds of WTs have positive effects on EOMs.However, long transmission lines connecting wind farmto the systemmay produce negative effects on the small-signal stability of the system.Nan DING Zongxiang LU Ying QIAO Yong MIN 2013Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2013,1,1:8
