1Curcumin protects against ischemic spinal cord injury The pathway effect显示文摘Inducible nitric oxide synthase and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptors have been shown to participate in nerve cell injury during spinal cord ischemia.This study observed a protective effect of curcumin on ischemic spinal cord injury.Models of spinal cord ischemia were established by ligating the lumbar artery from the left renal artery to the bifurcation of the abdominal aorta.At 24 hours after model establishment,the rats were intraperitoneally injected with curcumin.Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction and immunohistochemical results demonstrated that after spinal cord ischemia,inducible nitric oxide synthase and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor mRNA and protein expression significantly increased.However,curcumin significantly decreased inducible nitric oxide synthase and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor mRNA and protein expression in the ischemic spinal cord.Tarlov scale results showed that curcumin significantly improved motor function of the rat hind limb after spinal cord ischemia.The results demonstrate that curcumin exerts a neuroprotective effect against ischemic spinal cord injury by decreasing inducible nitric oxide synthase and N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor expression.Jinhua Zhang Hao Wei Meimei Lin Chunmei Chen Chunhua Wang Maobai Liu 2013Neural Regeneration Research2013,8,36:9
2Effect of MoO_3 on vanadium based catalysts for the selective catalytic reduction of NO_x with NH_3 at low temperature显示文摘The selective catalytic reduction(SCR) activities of the MoO_3 doped V/WTi catalysts prepared by the incipient wetness impregnation method at low temperature were investigated.The results showed that the addition of MoO_3 could enhance the NO_ xconversion at low temperature and the best SCR activity was obtained when the dosage of MoO_3 reached5 wt.%. The NH3-TPD and DRIFTS experiments indicated that the addition of MoO_3 changed the type and number of acid sites on the surface of catalysts and reaction activities of acid sites were altered at the same time. The redox capacity and amount of active oxygen species got improved for V3Mo5/WTi catalyst, which could be confirmed by the H_2-TPR and transient response experiments. Water vapor inhibited the NO_xconversion at low temperature. Deposition of ammonium sulfate or bisulfate might be main reason for the loss of catalytic activity in the presence of SO_2 at low temperature. Choosing the suitable NH_3/NO ratio and elevation of reaction temperature both could weaken the influence of SO_2 on the SCR activity of the V3Mo5/WTi catalyst. Thermal treatment of the deactivated catalyst at350°C could get the low temperature activity recovered. 3NH3-SCR performance and the resistance to SO2 for Nb doped vanadium based catalyst at low temperatures显示文摘Niobium oxide as the promoter was doped in the V/WTi catalyst for the selective catalytic reduction(SCR)of NO.The results showed that the addition of Nb_2O_5could improve the SCR activity at low temperatures and the 6 wt.%additive was an appropriate dosage.The enhanced reaction activity of adsorbed ammonia species and the improved dispersion of vanadium oxide might be the reasons for the elevation of SCR activity at low temperatures.The resistances to SO_2of 3V6Nb/WTi catalyst at different temperatures were investigated.FTIR spectrum and TG-FTIR result indicated that the deposition of ammonium sulfate species was the main deactivation reason at low temperatures,which still exhibited the reactivity with NO above 200°C on the catalyst surface.There was a synergistic effect among NH_3,H_2O and SO_2that NH_3and H_2O both accelerated the catalyst deactivation in the presence of SO_2at 175°C.The thermal treatment at 400°C could regenerate the deactivated catalyst and get SCR activity recovered.The particle and monolith catalysts both kept stable NO_xconversion at 225°C with high concentration of H_2O and SO_2during the long time tests.Lin Zhu Zhaoping Zhong Jianming Xue Yueyang Xu Chunhua Wang Lixia Wang 2018Journal of Environmental Sciences2018,30,3:8
4Self-powered electrochromic devices with tunable infrared intensity显示文摘Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG) is an efficient way to convert ambient mechanical energy into electricity to power up portable electronics.In this work,a flexible infrared electrochromical device(IR-ECD)with stable performances was assembled with a TENG for building self-powered infrared detector with tunable intensity.As driven by TENG,the electrochromic device could be operated in the mid-IR region due to the reversible electrochromic reactions.An average infrared reflectance contrast of 46% was achieved in 8–14 lm regions and as well a clear thermal image change can be observed.This work indicates that the TENG-driven infrared electrochromical device has potential for use in self-powered camouflage and thermal control.Jiangman sun xiong pu Chunyan Jiang Chunhua Du Mengmeng Liu Yang Zhang Zhitian Liu Junyi Zhai Weiguo Hu Zhong Lin Wang 2018Science Bulletin2018,63,12:6
5Sensitivity of the Arctic sea ice concentration forecasts to different atmospheric forcing: a case study显示文摘A regional Arctic configuration of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology general circulation model(MITgcm) is used as the coupled ice-ocean model for forecasting sea ice conditions in the Arctic Ocean at the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center of China(NMEFC), and the numerical weather prediction from the National Center for Environmental Prediction Global Forecast System(NCEP GFS) is used as the atmospheric forcing. To improve the sea ice forecasting, a recently developed Polar Weather Research and Forecasting model(Polar WRF) model prediction is also tested as the atmospheric forcing. Their forecasting performances are evaluated with two different satellite-derived sea ice concentration products as initializations:(1) the Special Sensor Microwave Imager/Sounder(SSMIS) and(2) the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for EOS(AMSR-E). Three synoptic cases, which represent the typical atmospheric circulations over the Arctic Ocean in summer 2010, are selected to carry out the Arctic sea ice numerical forecasting experiments. 6Evaluation of ArcIOPS sea ice forecasting products during the ninth CHINARE-Arctic in summer 2018显示文摘Numerical sea ice forecasting products during the ninth Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(9th CHINARE-Arctic)from Arctic Ice Ocean Prediction System(ArcIOPS)of National Marine Environmental Forecasting Center of China are evaluated against satellite-retrieved sea ice concentration data,in-situ sea ice thickness observations,and sea ice products from Pan-Arctic Ice Ocean Modeling and Assimilation System(PIOMAS).The results show that ArcIOPS forecasts reliable sea ice concentration and thickness evolution.Deviations of the 168 h sea ice concentration and thickness forecasts with respect to the observations are less than 0.2 and 0.36 m.Comparison between outputs of the latest version of ArcIOPS and that of its previous version shows that the latest version has a substantial improvement on sea ice concentration forecasts due to data assimilation of new observational component,the sea surface temperature.Meanwhile,the sea ice volume product of the latest version is more close to the PIOMAS product.In the future,with more and more kinds of observations to be assimilated,the high-resolution version of ArcIOPS will be put into operational running and benefit Chinese scientific and commercial activities in the Arctic Ocean.LIANG Xi ZHAO Fu LI Chunhua ZHANG Lin LI Bingrui 2020Advances in Polar Science2020,31,1:3
7Evaluation of reanalysis and satellite-based sea surface winds using in situ measurements from Chinese Antarctic Expeditions显示文摘Sea surface winds from reanalysis(NCEP-2 and ERA-40 datasets)and satellite-based products(QuikSCAT and NCDC blended sea winds)are evaluated using in situ ship measurements from the Chinese National Antarctic Research Expeditions(CHINAREs)from 1989 through 2006,with emphasis on the Southern Ocean(south of 45°S).Compared with ship observations,the reanalysis winds have a positive mean bias(0.32 m·s^(-1)for NCEP-2 and 0.13 m·s^(-1)for ERA-40),and this bias is more pronounced in the Southern Ocean(0.57 m·s^(-1)and 0.45 m·s^(-1),respectively).However,mean biases are negative in the tropics and subtropics.The satellite-based winds also show positive mean biases,larger than those of the reanalysis data.All four wind products overestimate ship wind speed for weak winds(<4 m·s^(-1))but underestimate for strong winds(>10 m·s^(-1)).Differences between the reanalysis and satellite winds are examined to identify regions with large discrepancies.LI Ming YANG Qinghua ZHAO Jiechen ZHANG Lin LI Chunhua MENG Shang 2013Advances in Polar Science2013,24,3:2

9Targeted therapeutics and novel signaling pathways in nonalcohol-associated fatty liver/steatohepatitis(NAFL/NASH)显示文摘Non-alcohol-associated fatty liver/steatohepatitis(NAFL/NASH)has become the leading cause of liver disease worldwide.NASH,an advanced form of NAFL,can be progressive and more susceptible to developing cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.Currently,lifestyle interventions are the most essential and effective strategies for preventing and controlling NAFL without the development of fibrosis.While there are stll limited appropriate drugs specifically to treat NAFL/NASH,growing progress is being seen in elucidating the pathogenesis and identifying therapeutic targets.In this review,we discussed recent developments in etiology and prospective therapeutic targets,as well as pharmacological candidates in pre/clinical trials and patents,with a focus on diabetes,hepatic lipid metabolism,inflammation,and fibrosis.Importantly,growing evidence elucidates that the disruption of the gut-liver axis and microbederived metabolites drive the pathogenesis of NAFL/NASH.Extracellular vesicles(EVs)act as a signaling mediator,resulting in lipid accumulation,macrophage and hepatic stellate cell activation,further promoting inflammation and liver fibrosis progression during the development of NAFL/NASH.Targeting gut microbiota or EVs may serve as new strategies for the treatment of NAFL/NASH.Finally,other mechanisms,such as cell therapy and genetic approaches,also have enormous therapeutic potential.Incorporating drugs with different mechanisms and personalized medicine may improve the efficacy to better benefit patients with NAFL/NASH.Xiaohan Xu Kyle L.Poulsen Ljuan Wu Shan Liu Tatsunori Miyata Qiaoling Song Qingda Wei Chenyang Zhao Chunhua Lin Jinbo Yang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,9:2
10A facile preparation of a novel nonleaching antimicrobial waterborne polyurethane leather coating functionalized by quaternary phosphonium salt显示文摘The aim of this research is to develop a novel non-leaching antimicrobial waterborne polyurethane(WPU)leather coating material with covalently attached quaternary phosphonium salt(QPS).The structure of the QPS-bearing WPU has been identified,and their thermal stability,mechanical property,and antimicrobial performance have been investigated.The results reveal that the incorporation of QPS slightly reduces the thermal stability of WPU material but would not affects its usability as leather coating.Despite the presence of hydrophobic benzene in QPS structure,the strong hydration of its cationic groups leads to the increased surface contact angle(SCA)and water absorption rate(WAR)of the films,suggesting that the water resistance of the films needs to be improved for the purpose of leather coatings.Antibacterial tests demonstrate that when the QPS content is 20 wt%,QPS-bearing WPU shows effective antimicrobial activity against bacteria.The WPU containing QPS prepared in this study is a non-leaching antimicrobial material and has great potential application as leather coating.Chunhua Wang Jianhui Wu Li Li Changdao Mu Wei Lin 2020Journal of Leather Science and Engineering2020,2,1:2
