| 2 | Human umbilical cord blood stem cell transplantation for the treatment of chronic spinal cord injury Electrophysiological changes and long-term efficacy显示文摘Stem cell transplantation can promote functional restoration following acute spinal cord injury (injury time < 3 months), but the safety and long-term efficacy of this treatment need further exploration. In this study, 25 patients with traumatic spinal cord injury (injury time > 6 months) were treated with human umbilical cord blood stem cells via intravenous and intrathecal injection. The follow-up period was 12 months after transplantation. Results found that autonomic nerve functions were restored and the latent period of somatosensory evoked potentials was reduced. There were no severe adverse reactions in patients following stem cell transplantation. | 8 | The Relationship between Intrahepatic Distribution of Hepatitis B Virus Core Antigen and Serum ALT, HBV DNA Levels and HBeAg Status显示文摘Objective The clinical significance of differential distribution of hepatitis B virus(HBV)nucleocapsid antigen in hepatocytes remains unknown.The goal of this study is to determine the relationship between distinct HBV core antigen distribution pattern and alanine transaminase(ALT),liver histological inflammatory activity grades,serum HBeAg status and HBV DNA level.Methods Total of 958 cases with chronic hepatitis B were recruited into this study.Liver function tests,serum HBV DNA level,serological HBV markers and liver immunohistochemistry were examined according to the conventional instructions.Chi Square tests were performed to analyze the differences among these groups.Results It was found that 552(58%)cases were tested positive for HBV core antigen by immunohistochemical staining.Cytoplasmic hepatitis B core antigen(HBcAg)expression correlated with ALT level and serum HBV DNA and liver inflammatory activity scores,however,nuclear HBcAg expression in hepatocytes was associated with normal ALT level,lower liver inflammatory activity score and higher serum HBV DNA level and rate of HBeAg positivity.Both nuclear and cytoplasmic HBcAg expression in hepatocytes associated with a middle ALT level and liver inflammatory activity score,higher rate of serum detectable HBeAg and a higher HBV DNA level.However,undetectable core antigen was related to a lower ALT level and histological inflammatory activity grade,lower positive HBeAg rate and HBV DNA level.Conclusions Undetectable liver HBcAg is associated with HBV clearance,ALT normalization and hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)seroconversion,and cytoplasmic HBcAg expression associated with higher hepatic inflammatory activity.However,nuclear HBcAg expression correlates with immune tolerance characterized with normal ALT and lower liver inflammatory activity,higher HBV replication level and higher rate of HBeAg positivity. | Qing He Qi-yuan Tang Xiao-hua Le De-liang Lv Xiang-mei Zhang Fei-jian Ao Yi-min Tang Shan Huang John Nunnari Gui-lin Yang | 2012 | 国际感染病学(电子版)2012,1,2: | 4 |

| 10 | Flight dynamics characteristics of canard rotor/wing aircraft in helicopter flight mode显示文摘The aerodynamic layout of the Canard Rotor/Wing(CRW) aircraft in helicopter flight mode differs significantly from that of conventional helicopters. In order to study the flight dynamics characteristics of CRW aircraft in helicopter mode, first, the aerodynamic model of the main rotor system is established based on the blade element theory and wind tunnel test results. The aerodynamic forces and moments of the canard wing, horizontal tail, vertical tail and fuselage are obtained via theoretical analysis and empirical formula. The flight dynamics model of the CRW aircraft in helicopter mode is developed and validated by flight test data. Next, a method of model trimming using an optimization algorithm is proposed. The flight dynamics characteristics of the CRW are investigated by the method of linearized small perturbations via Simulink. The trim results are consistent with the conventional helicopter characteristics, and the results show that with increasing forward flight speed, the canard wing and horizontal tail can provide considerable lift,which reflects the unique characteristics of the CRW aircraft. Finally, mode analysis is implemented for the linearized CRW in helicopter mode. The results demonstrate that the stability of majority modes increases with increasing flight speed. However, one mode that diverges monotonously,and the reason is that the CRW helicopter mode has a large vertical tail compared to the conventional helicopter. | 15 | An Outbreak of SARS in a Diabetes Room of a General Hospital without Infected Medical Staff显示文摘Objective To investigate the epidemiologic features of an outbreak of SARS that occurred in a single diabetes room of a general hospital in Beijing in late March 2003.Methods Field investigation was carried out in the ward,the nursing log and the hospitalization medical record of correlative patients were consulted.SARS-CoV in serum specimen from SARS patient was detected by PCR.Results The room where SARS outbreak occurred was on the 13th floor of the 16-story main ward building.There were 6 beds in the room,living with 6 female patients(aged 45-67)who were all hospitalized due to type2 diabetes.On March 24,2003,Patient 1 began to have a fever and cough,chest X-ray showed pneumonia.Five and six days later,Patient 2 and Patient 3 began to have a fever,respectively.Finally,all of these 3 patients died.Their beds were all at the same side of the room,and the other 3 patients at the opposite side were not infected.Serum SARS CoV-RNA of the Patient 3 was positive by nest-PCR.The daughter-in-law of Patient 1who accompanied Patient 1 by the bedside several days,mainly near the window,upwind of Patient 1,was not infected.Medical staff,family members and visitors of the 6 patients were not infected.Conclusions This outbreak was not transmitted by aerosol.The distance droplets travels could be up to 3.43 meters.Droplet spread has direction,and the droplets direction of propagation is closely related with the wind direction and speed.Those at the downwind position of SARS patients were susceptible to be infected.Medical staff wore face masks and good natural ventilation of this ward building may be important reasons for the prevention of infection. | Chun-ling Liu Jun Cheng He Gao Bo Zhang Qun Yuan Ao Tong Yi-an Liang Hong Tang Xiao-hong Guan | 2013 | 国际感染病学(电子版)2013,2,4: | 3 |
| 16 | Maternal intake restriction programs the energy metabolism, clock circadian regulator and m TOR signals in the skeletal muscles of goat offspring probably via the protein kinase A-cAMP-responsive element-binding proteins pathway显示文摘The biological mechanism by which maternal undernutrition increases the metabolic disorder risk of skeletal muscles in offspring is not fully understood.We hypothesize that maternal intake restriction influences metabolic signals in the skeletal muscles of offspring via a glucagon-mediated pathway.Twentyfour pregnant goats were assigned to the control group(100%of the nutrients requirement,n=12)and restricted group(60%of the control feed allowance from pregnant days 45 to 100,n=12).Blood and Longissimus thoracis muscle were sampled from dams(100 d of gestation),fetuses(100 d of gestation),and kids(90 d after birth)in each group.The data were analyzed using the linear MIXED model,with the multiple comparison method of SIDAK applied.Intake restriction reduced(P<0.05)the total blood protein of dams and fetuses.Maternal restriction decreased(P<0.05)the cAMP-responsive element-binding protein 1(CREB1),CREB-binding protein(CREBBP),protein kinase A(PKA),aryl hydrocarbon receptor nuclear translocator-like protein 1(BMAL1),protein kinase B(AKT1),mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR),and regulatory-associated protein of mTOR(RPTOR)mRNA expression in the fetuses,and reduced(P<0.05)the CREBBP,nuclear receptor subfamily 1 group H member 3(NR1 H3),D-box binding PAR bZIP transcription factor(DBP)and PKA mRNA levels in the kids,but increased(P<0.05)the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator 1 alpha(PGC1 A)and tuberous sclerosis 2(TSC2)mRNA levels in the fetuses.The mRNA expression of clock circadian regulator(CLOCK)and TSC2 genes was increased(P<0.05)in the restricted kids.The protein expression of total PKA and phosphorylated PKA in the restricted fetuses and kids were downregulated(P<0.05),and the protein expression of total mTOR and phosphorylated mTOR were reduced(P<0.05)in the restricted fetuses and kids.Maternal intake restriction regulated fat oxidation,protein synthesis,and circadian clock expression in the muscles of the offspring probably via the glucagon-mediated PKA-CREB pathway,which reveals a noteworthy molecular pathway that maternal undernutrition leads to metabolic adaptation of skeletal muscle in offspring. | Xiaoling Zhou Qiongxian Yan Hong Yang Ao Ren Zhixiong He Zhiliang Tan | 2021 | Animal Nutrition2021,,4: | 2 |
