1Hepatitis C virus infection,microRNA and liver disease progression显示文摘Hepatitis C virus(HCV) is a global health problem with an estimated 170-200 million peoples(approximately3% of world population) are chronically infected worldwide and new infections are predicted to be on rise in coming years. HCV infection remains categorized as a major risk factor for chronic hepatitis,liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma worldwide. There has been considerable improvement in our understanding of virus life cycle since,the discovery of HCV two-decades ago.MicroRNAs(miRNAs) are important players in establishment of HCV infection and their propagation in infected hepatocytes. They target crucial host cellular factors needed for productive HCV replication and augmented cell growth.Very first anti-miRNA oligonucleotides,miravirsen has been tested in clinical trial and shown promising results as therapeutic agent in treatment against chronic HCV infection.Deregulated expression of miRNAs has been linked to the pathogenesis associated with HCV infection by controlling signaling pathways such as,proliferation,apoptosis and migration. Circulating miRNAs emerging as growing field in identification of biomarkers in disease progression and their potential as a means of communication between cells inside the liver is an exciting area of research in future.This review focuses on recent studies enforcing the contribution of miRNAs in HCV life cycle and coordinated regulation in HCV mediated liver disease progression.Shubham Shrivastava Anupam Mukherjee Ratna B Ray 2013World Journal of Hepatology2013,5,9:6

10Abundance and biomass of assorted small indigenous fish species:Observations from rural fish markets of West Bengal,India显示文摘The small indigenous fish species(SIS)are harvested as ensemble of different fish species of varying size and shape.An appraisal of the abundance and biomass of fish species constituting such ensemble was carried out with samples collected from fish markets ofWest Bengal,India.The data revealed that at least 22 different fish species were present varying in numbers and species combinations.The abundance and biomass of the individual fish species was negatively correlated,indicating numerical dominance of small sized species.Logarithmic regression showed a good fit of the relative abundance(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=55.72ln(x)e 77.27;r^(2)=0.940),while power regression was best fit for the relative biomass of individual fish(y)with the species richness(x)in the samples of SIS(y=24.58x^(-1.54);R^(2)=0.831).In overall both species specific and individual based biomass and abundance relationships were negatively correlated.In order to ascertain the harvest and marketability of the SIS in a judicious manner,monitoring of the fish assemblages in natural habitats is recommended.Dibyendu Saha Santanu Pal Supratim Mukherjee Gargi Nandy Anupam Chakraborty Sk Habibur Rahaman Gautam Aditya 2018Aquaculture and Fisheries2018,3,3:0
