1茶叶中农药残留及其通过茶汤进入人体量的估算(英文)显示文摘茶是世界上最普及的饮料。茶树由于受到大量病虫危害而需要施用许多农药。鉴于公众对食品安全性关注度的日益提高,本文对红茶中7种农药的残留量及其通过泡茶进入茶汤的残留量进行了研究。红茶中的农药残留量为0.18~1.90 mg/kg,其中只有一部分能进入茶汤而被人体摄入。将茶叶冲泡因素考虑在内,通过饮茶进入人体的农药残留量只有印度人每日允许摄入量的0.1%。这种考虑冲泡因素的综合评估方法将有利于制定切合实际的茶叶中最大农药残留限量标准。Anoop Kumar Barooah Monorama Borthakur Jatindra Nath Kalita Tabaruk Hussain Kasturi Chaudhury Rajib Nath 2011茶叶科学2011,31,5:15
2Effect of gadolinium incorporation on optical characteristics of YNbO_4:Eu^(3+) phosphors for lamp applications显示文摘Eu3+-doped (Y,Gd)NbO4 phosphor was synthesized by solid-state reaction for possible application in cold cathode fluorescent lamps. A broad absorption band with peak maximum at 272 nm was observed which was due to the charge transfer between Eu3+ ions and neighboring oxygen anions. A deep red emission at the peak wavelength of 612 nm was observed which could be attributed to the 5D0→7F2 transition in Eu3+ ions. The highest luminance for Y1-x-yGdyNbO4:Eux3+ under 254 nm excitation was achieved at Eu3+ concentration of 18 mol.% (x=0.18) and Gd3+ concentration of 8.2 mol.% (y=0.082). The luminance of Y0.738Gd0.082NbO4:Eu3+0.18 was higher than that of a typical commercial phosphor Y2O3:Eu3+ and the CIE chromaticity coordinate was (0.6490, 0.3506), which was deeper than that of Y2O3:Eu3+. The particle size of the synthesized phosphors was controlled by the NaCl flux and particle size as high as 8 μm with uniform size distribution of particles was obtained.Sung Hwan Choi G. 3Smart polymers for the controlled delivery of drugs–a concise overview显示文摘Smart polymers have enormous potential in various applications.In particular,smart polymeric drug delivery systems have been explored as“intelligent”delivery systems able to release,at the appropriate time and site of action,entrapped drugs in response to specific physiological triggers.These polymers exhibit a non-linear response to a small stimulus leading to a macroscopic alteration in their structure/properties.The responses vary widely from swelling/contraction to disintegration.Synthesis of new polymers and crosslinkers with greater biocompatibility and better biodegradability would increase and enhance current applications.The most fascinating features of the smart polymers arise from their versatility and tunable sensitivity.The most significant weakness of all these external stimuli-sensitive polymers is slow response time.The versatility of polymer sources and their combinatorial synthesis make it possible to tune polymer sensitivity to a given stimulus within a narrow range.Development of smart polymer systems may lead to more accurate and programmable drug delivery.In this review,we discuss various mechanisms by which polymer systems are assembled in situ to form implanted devices for sustained release of therapeutic macromolecules,and we highlight various applications in the field of advanced drug delivery.Honey Priya James Rijo John Anju Alex Anoop K.R. 2014Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2014,4,2:5
4AN INVESTIGATION OF TURBULENT RECTANGULAR JET DISCHARGED INTO A NARROW CHANNEL WEAK CROSSFLOW显示文摘A computational investigation of the mean flow field of turbulent rectangular jets issuing into a narrow channel crossflow is presented. The length of the jet slot spans more than 55% of the crossflow channel bed, leaving a small clearance between the jet edge and sidewalls. A finite volume code employing the standard k-ε model is used to predict the mean, three-dimensional flow field. The mean flow field is investigated for two velocity ratios (6 and 9). Important flow features, such as the formation of different vortical structures and their characteristics owing to different values of the velocity ratio, are discussed. Some predicted results are compared with the experimental data reported in the literature. 5Recent Developments in Integrated Solar Combined Cycle Power Plants显示文摘Global concern for depleting fossil fuel reserves have been compelling for evolving power generation options using renewable energy sources. The solar energy happens to be a potential source for running the power plants among renewable energy sources. Integrated Solar Combined Cycle(ISCC) power plants have gained popularity among the thermal power plants. Traditional ISCC power plants use Direct Steam Generation(DSG) approach. However, with the DSG method, the ISCC plant’s overall thermal efficiency does not increase significantly due to variations in the availability of solar energy. Thermal Energy Storage(TES) systems when integrated into the solar cycle can address such issues related to energy efficiency, process flexibility, reducing intermittency during non-solar hours. This review work focuses and discusses the developments in various components of the ISCC system including its major cycles and related parameters. The main focus is on CSP technologies, Heat Transfer Fluid(HTF), and Phase Change Material(PCM) used for thermal energy storage. Further, study includes heat enhancement methods with HTF and latent heat storage system. 9Plasma cathepsin L:A prognostic marker for pancreatic cancer显示文摘AIM:To assess the prognostic significance of cathepsin L,a cysteine protease that degrades the peri-tumoral tissue,in patients with pancreatic cancer.METHODS:Plasma samples from 127 pancreatic cancer patients were analyzed for cathepsin L levels by ELISA.Out of these patients,25 underwent surgeryand their paraffin-embedded tissue was analyzed for cathepsin L expression by immunohistochemistry.Survival of patients and clinicopathological parameters was correlated with cathepsin L expression in plasma and tissue using appropriate statistical analysis.RESULTS:The mean(±SD)cathepsin L in plasma samples of pancreatic cancer patients was 5.98±2.5ng/m L that was significantly higher compared to the levels in healthy controls(3.83±0.45)or chronic pancreatitis patients(3.97±1.06).Using ROC curve,a cut-off level of 5.0 ng/m L was decided for survival analysis.Elevated plasma levels of cathepsin L were found to be associated with poor prognosis(P=0.01)in multivariate analysis.The plasma levels of the protease decreased after surgery.Though no significant correlation was seen between plasma and tissue expression of this protease,a trend did emerge that high cathepsin L expression in tissue correlated with its high levels in plasma.CONCLUSION:Cathepsin L levels in plasma of pancreatic cancer patients may be used as a potential prognostic marker for the disease.Nidhi Singh Prasenjit Das Surabhi Gupta Vikas Sachdev Siddhartha Srivasatava Siddhartha Datta Gupta Ravindra Mohan Pandey Peush Sahni Shyam S Chauhan Anoop Saraya 2014World Journal of Gastroenterology2014,20,46:2

14Significance of serum carcinoembryonic antigen in metastatic breast cancer patients:A prospective study显示文摘BACKGROUND Carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA)is an important serum tumour marker with a substantial role in diagnosis and monitoring of various solid tumours.About 36%-70%of breast cancers have elevated serum CEA.And the available studies show discrepancy in addressing the prognostic significance of CEA in advanced breast cancer.AIM To estimate the serum CEA level in our metastatic breast cancer patients and correlate it with response to treatment and clinical outcome.METHODS This was a prospective clinical study conducted on 50 metastatic breast cancer patients treated at breast clinic,with newly diagnosed metastatic breast cancer planned for palliative chemotherapy,targeted therapy,and hormonal treatment.We estimated the proportion of patients with elevated serum CEA level at baseline and after palliative treatment and also studied the association of serum CEA levels with known prognostic factors.The response to treatment was correlated with the serum CEA levels in the context of responders and nonresponders.RESULTS The median pre-treatment and post-treatment CEA levels were 7.9(1.8-40.7)ng/mL and 4.39(1.4-12.15)ng/mL,respectively,in the whole study population(P=0.032).No statistically significant difference was seen in baseline serum CEA between responders and non-responders.Even in the luminal group,pretreatment serum CEA was not a predictor of response,but post-treatment CEA was a significant predictor of tumour progression.In patients with liver and lung metastases,post-treatment CEA level difference was not statistically significant in both responders and non-responders though the values were higher in nonresponders.Among those with bone metastases,69.5%had elevated post-treatment serum CEA,and only 37.5%had elevated serum CEA in those with no bone metastases.CONCLUSION Elevated post-treatment serum CEA levels are associated with disease progression and poor response to therapy.Persistently elevated post-treatment serum CEA levels are significantly associated with bone metastases.Elevated serum CEA and hormonal status are significant predictors of treatment response.Thattungal Manoharan Anoop Rona Joseph P Saikumar Soman Steffi Chacko Mintu Mathew 2022World Journal of Clinical Oncology2022,13,6:2
