| 1 | Flow injection spectrophotometric determination of vitamin E in pharmaceuticals,milk powder and blood serum using potassium ferricyanide-Fe(Ⅲ) detection system显示文摘A simple and sensitive flow injection spectrophotometric method is reported for the determination of vitamin E using potassium ferricyanide-Fe(Ⅲ detection system. In the presence of vitamin E, Fe(Ⅲ/ferricyanide reduces. The in situ reduced ions are then reacted with unreduced portion of ferricyanide/Fe(Ⅲ to make soluble Prussian blue, which is monitored at absorption wavelength of 735 nm. Linear calibration graph was obtained in the concentration range of 0.1-40 μg mL-1. The relative standard deviations (n = 4) were in the range of 1.1-3.6%, with limits of detection (3 s blank) of 0.04 μg mL-1. The proposed method allowed 12 injections h-1. The method is applied to determine vitamin E in Pharmaceuticals, infant milk and blood serum samples using hexane extraction with the recoveries in the range of 93 ± 3 to 97.5 ± 4%. | 6 | Flow-injection Spectrophotometric Determination of Uric Acid in Urine via Prussian Blue Reaction显示文摘A simple and sensitive flow injection(FI) spectrophotometric method was reported for the determination of uric acid based on the reduction of Fe(III)/ferricyanide in the presence of uric acid. The in situ reduced ions reacted with unreduced portion of ferricyanide/Fe(III) to form soluble Prussian blue, which was monitored at an absorption wavelength of 735 nm. The optimized conditions allow a linear calibration graph in a concentration range of 1―100 μmol/L. The relative standard deviation was in a range of 0.5%―2.5%, with a detection limit(3σ blank) of 0.3 μmol/L and a sampling frequency of 60 injection/h was obtained. The effect of common substances present in human physiological fluids on the determination of uric acid was examined. The method was applied to determining uric acid in human urine samples with the recoveries in a range of 96%―105%. The results agree well with those by spectrophotometric reference method at a confidence level of 95%. | 13 | Radiative capture of proton through the 14N(p,γ)15O reaction at low energy显示文摘The CNO cycle is the main source of energy in stars more massive than our Sun.This process defines the energy production,the duration of which can be used to determine the lifetime of massive stars.The cycle is an important tool for determining the age of globular clusters.Radiative proton capture via p+14N→15O+γ,at energies of astrophysical interest,is an important process in the CNO cycle.In this project,we apply a potential model to describe both non-resonant and resonant reactions in the channels where radiative capture occurs through electric E1 transitions.We employed the R-matrix method to describe the ongoing reactions via M1 resonant transitions,when it was not possible to correctly reproduce the experimental data using the potential model.The partial components of the astrophysical S-factor are calculated for all possible electric and magnetic dipole transitions in 15O.The linear extrapolated S-factor at zero energy(S(0))agrees well with earlier reported values for all transition types considered in this work.Based on the value of the total astrophysical S-factor,depending on the collision energy,we calculate the nuclear reaction rates for p+14N→15O+γ.The computed rates agree well with the results reported in the NACRE II Collaboration and most recent existing measurements. | B.F.Irgaziev Abdul Kabir Jameel-Un Nabi | 2024 | Chinese Physics C2024,48,4: | 0 |
| 14 | Phenotypic and Molecular Assessment of Wheat Genotypes Tolerant to Leaf Blight,Rust and Blast Diseases显示文摘Globally among biotic stresses,diseases like blight,rust and blast constitute prime constraints for reducing wheat productivity especially in Bangladesh.For sustainable productivity,the development of disease-resistant lines and high yielding varieties is vital and necessary.This study was conducted using 122 advanced breeding lines of wheat including 21 varieties developed by Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute with aims to identify genotypes having high yield potential and resistant to leaf blight,leaf rust and blast diseases.These genotypes were evaluated for resistance against leaf blight and leaf rust at Dinajpur and wheat blast at Jashore under field condition.Out of 122 genotypes tested,20 lines were selected as resistant to leaf blight based on the area under the diseases progress curve under both irrigated timely sown and irrigated late sown conditions.Forty-two genotypes were found completely free from leaf rust infection,59 genotypes were identified as resistant,and 13 genotypes were identified as moderately resistant to leaf rust.Eighteen genotypes were immune against wheat blast,42 genotypes were categorized as resistant,and 26 genotypes were identified as moderately resistant to wheat blast.Molecular data revealed that the 16 genotypes showed a positive 2NS segment among the 18 immune genotypes selected against wheat blast under field conditions.The genotypes BAW 1322,BAW 1295,and BAW 1203 can be used as earlier maturing genotypes and the genotypes BAW 1372,BAW 1373,BAW 1297 and BAW 1364 can be used for lodging tolerant due to short plant height.The genotypes WMRI Gom 1,BAW 1349 and BAW 1350 can be selected for bold grain and the genotypes WMRI Gom 1,BAW 1297,BAW 1377 can be used as high yielder for optimum seeding condition but genotypes BAW 1377 and BAW 1366 can be used for late sown condition.The selected resistant genotypes against specific diseases can be used in the further breeding program to develop wheat varieties having higher disease resistance and yield potential. | Ashraful Alam Milan Skalicky Muhammad Rezaul Kabir Monwar Hossain Abdul Hakim Siddikun Nabi Mandal Rabiul Islam Babul Anwar Akbar Hossain Fahmy Hassan Amaal Mohammadein Muhammad Aamir Iqbal Marian Brestic Mohammad Anwar Hossain Khalid Rehman Hakeem Ayman EL Sabagh | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,4: | 0 |
| 15 | Organic Amendments Improve Plant Morpho-Physiology and Antioxidant Metabolism in Mitigating Drought Stress in Bread Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.)显示文摘Due to the unpredictable climate change,drought stress is being considered as one of the major threats to crop production.Wheat(Triticum aestivum L.cv.BARI Gom-26)being a dry season crop frequently faces scarcity of water and results in a lower yield.Therefore,this experiment aims to explore the role of different organic amendments(OAs)in mitigating drought stress-induced damage.The pot experiment consisted of different organic amendments viz.compost,vermicompost and poultry manure@0.09 kg m^(−2)soil,biochar@2.5%w/w soil and chitosan@1%w/w soil which was imposed on the plants grown under both well-watered and drought conditions.Results showed that drought stress reduced plant height(15%),SPAD value(16%),relative water content(13%),number of spikelet spike^(−1)(17%),number of grains spike^(−1)(12%),and 100-grain weight(18%).Organic amendments act as a protectant and reduce drought stress-induced damages by enhancing the morpho-physiological and yield attributes.Vermicompost enhanced SPAD value by 18%,number of spikelets spike^(−1)by 20%,number of grains spike^(−1)by 17%,whereas poultry manure increased plant height by 16%under drought condition compared to control plant.Unlike other OAs applied,vermicompost was proved to be capable of reducing the higher lipid peroxidation and proline content raised by drought condition.Drought stress-induced increment of catalase,ascorbate peroxidase and glutathione reductase activities were also efficiently modulated by the organic amendment application.The present study concluded that OAs play significant roles in alleviating drought stressinduced damages by improving the morpho-physiological attributes and among the different types of OAs used vermicompost performed better which in addition ceased the production of reactive oxygen species. | Taufika Islam Anee Md.Nur Nabi Islam Mohamed M.Hassan Abdul Awal Chowdhury Masud Md.Mahabub Alam Mirza Hasanuzzaman | 2022 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2022,91,9: | 0 |
| 16 | Comparing the demographic data and outcomes of septic shock patients presenting to teaching or non-teaching metropolitan hospitals in the United States显示文摘BACKGROUND:Studies looking at the effect of hospital teaching status on septic shock related in-hospital mortality are lacking.The aim of this study was to examine the effect of hospital teaching status on mortality in septic shock patients in the United States.METHODS:This was a retrospective observational study,using the Nationwide Emergency Department Sample Database(released in 2018).All patients with septic shock were included.Complex sample logistic regression was performed to assess the impact of hospital teaching status on patient mortality.RESULTS:A total of 388,552 septic shock patients were included in the study.The average age was 66.93 years and 51.7%were males.Most of the patients presented to metropolitan teaching hospitals(68.2%)and 31.8%presented to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals.Septic shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals were found to have a higher percentage of medical comorbidities,were more likely to be intubated and placed on mechanical ventilation(50.5%vs.46.9%)and had a longer average length of hospital stay(12.47 d vs.10.20 d).Septic shock patients presenting to teaching hospitals had greater odds of in-hospital mortality compared to those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals(adjusted odd ratio[OR]=1.295,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.256-1.335).CONCLUSION:Septic shock patients presenting to metropolitan teaching hospitals had significantly higher risks of mortality than those presenting to metropolitan non-teaching hospitals.They also had higher rates of intubation and mechanical ventilation as well as longer lengths of hospital stay than those in non-teaching hospitals. | Ralph Bou Chebl Nadim Kattouf Mohamad Assaf Saadeddine Haidar Gilbert Abou Dagher Sarah Abdul Nabi Rana Bachir Mazen El Sayed | 2022 | World Journal of Emergency Medicine2022,13,6: | 0 |
