1Self-organized criticality and its application in the slope disasters under gravity显示文摘Firstly, three kinds of sand pile experiments which reflect the universal process of energy dissipation within the slope accumulation under the self-organized action are reviewed. They all show that self-organized criticality (SOC) is related to granular non-uniform. The experiment of Tokamak plasma system is introduced, which shows some of SOC properties of Tokamak plasmas in Ohmic region or L-mode. Secondly, material tests in geotechnical engineering and numerical simulations of micro-structure of sand piles indicate that SOC is determined by the structural characteristics. 3Measurements of displacement and trapping force on micron-sized particles in optical tweezers system显示文摘A high-stability optical tweezers equipped with a high-precision measurement system of displacement and force is set up. The results show that this combination can be used to carry out quantitative measurements of small displacements and forces for micron-sized spheres. 4Freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy studies on the self-assemblies of amphiphilic solutions显示文摘Self-assemblies of amphiphiles in solutions were investigated by using freeze-fracture transmission electron microscopy(FF-TEM). Especially, vesicles were characterized by FF-TEM and the transition of self-assemblies was determined. The stacked lamellar Lα-phase was prepared without shear forces by a chemical reaction. The stacked lamellar Lα-phase can be transformed into multilamellar vesicles by the shearing forces that occur when the stacked lamellar Lα-phase sample is turned upside down a few times. The multilamellar vesicles can also be transformed into unilamellar vesicles by high shearing forces. These transitions were demonstrated by FF-TEM measurements. 5The Heat-swimming Force on the Fiber-like Particle in Noncon-formity Temperature Fluid显示文摘Fiber-like particle suspensions are common in both nature and industry, yet research on them is still in its infancy. This paper focuses on the theoretical analysis of the heat-swimming force operating on the fiber-like particle in nonconformity temperature fluid, and the approximate calculating formula has been proposed. 8Micro contact and stick-slip number between AFM probe tip and sample surface显示文摘In an atomic force microscope (AFM), the cantilever probe, probe tip and sample surface form a micro system in which micro contact, elastic deformation, relative sliding and friction occur during scanning with the contact mode. In this paper, the energy conversion and dissipation during scanning process in the micro system is investigated based on the Mauges-Daules contact model. A dimensionless stick-slip number 221s8/()UhkRqh= is defined to describe the micro stick-slip behavior under AFM. Through numerical simulation of the dynamics of the probe tip, it is shown that AFM lateral force is dependent on the defined stick-slip number. If h < 1, lateral force is weak and stick-slip phenomenon disappears. When h =1, the probe tip jumps between the asperities on sample surface, showing stick-slip behavior but without energy dissipation. In the case of h >1, the tip moves off the sticking points with an adhesion hysteresis, resulting in an energy dissipation. Therefore, the stick-slip number can serve as a characteristic parameter. Numerical simulation of AFM lateral force with different stick-slip numbers is in agreement with experimental results. 9Effective Interaction Force between an Electric Charge and a Magnetic Dipole and Locality (or Nonlocality) in Quantum Effects of the Aharonov–Bohm Type显示文摘Classical electrodynamics foresees that the effective interaction force between a moving charge and a magnetic dipole is modified by the time-varying total momentum of the interaction fields. We derive the equations of motion of the particles from the total stress-energy tensor, assuming the validity of Maxwell’s equations and the total momentum conservation law. 12Effect of excess Y_2O_3 addition on the physical properties of melt processed YBCO bulks显示文摘The YBCO superconductors with Y2O3 addition were prepared by a modified melt textured process and the effects of excess Y2O3 addition on the physical properties of melt textured YBCO have been investigated. It is found that the melt temperature of YBCO samples decreases drastically with the increasing Y2O3, and the maximum levitation forces are drastically different for samples with different Y2O3 addition. It is also found that the optimal Y2O3 addition to YBCO is about 10wt%. 19Influences of greenhouse effect on agricultural production in China显示文摘An obvious warming in China induced by doubled carbon, dioxide as simulated by the climatic models have been found. It is also noticed that there might be drying or wetting in some parts of China induced by doubled CO2 as simulated by the general circulation models(GCMs). Agricultural productivity mainly depends on the temperature, rainfall and soil moisture in China. The changes of agricultural productivity in the different parts of China induced by doubled CO2 have been estimated in this paper. 20SHORT-RANGE FORCE IN THE NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF LARGE-SCALE STRUCTURE IN THE UNIVERSE显示文摘In this paper, an improved CPU time-saving method for the calculation of the short-rangeforce in P^3M scheme of the N-body simulation of the large-scale structure in the universe has been proposed. The main point is that, by rearranging the particles according to the cells they belongto, the particle pairs needed to be calculated for the short-range force are greatly decreased, and then the calculation time is much saved.
