| 1 | Ion engine grids:Function,main parameters,issues,configurations,geometries,materials and fabrication methods显示文摘Ion optics are crucial components of ion thrusters and the study of the different ion extraction solutions used since the beginning of the electric propulsion era is essential to understand the evolution of ion engines. This work describes ion engine grids' main functions, parameters and issues related to thermal expansion and sputter erosion, and then introduces a review of ion optics used for significant launched and tested ion thrusters since 1970. | 2 | β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate Improves Chronic Renal Failure-Induced Sarcopenia in SD Rats by Regulating Autophagy显示文摘Background Chronic renal failure-induced sarcopenia(CRF-S)seriously affects public health by increasing morbidity and mortality.This study evaluated the therapeutic effects ofβ-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate acid(HMB)and the underlying mechanism in an adenine-induced CRF-S rat model.Methods Sprague Dawley rats were divided into control,model(CRF-S),and HMB treatment(CRF-S+HMB)groups.The rats in the CRF-S group received 250 mg/kg/d adenine by oral gavage every day for 14 days,followed by administration every other day until the 28th day.In the CRF-S+HMB group,each rat was given 320 mg/kg/d HMB by oral gavage starting from 7 days prior to adenine treatment,and this treatment was maintained for a total of 35 days.The body weight,right anterior tibial muscle weight,blood serum parameters,gastrocnemius muscle and renal tissue histology,and expression of autophagy-related transcripts and proteins were evaluated.Results A rat model of CRF-S was successfully established via adenine gavage,as indicated by reduced body weight and muscle weights,and markers of sarcopenia.There were increased mRNA levels of LC3B,Beclin1,Ulk1,Atg5,Atg7,Atg13 and vps-34,and increased protein expression levels of LC3B and P62.In the rats with HMB intervention,the body weight,right anterior tibial weight and gastrocnemius muscle histology were not significantly different from those in the control group,and the expression levels of autophagy-related proteins(LC3B and P62)were consistent with those in the control group.Conclusion We successfully established a rat model of CRF-S using adenine administered via oral gavage,and observed that HMB treatment prevented CRF-S. | Zun Yue Zhang Liu Qing Yang Ya Nan Yang Yun Lin Wang Long Mei Zhang Kun Hua Wang Min Weng | 2021 | Journal of Nutritional Oncology2021,6,4: | 4 |

| 4 | A Constant Potential Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study of the Atomic-Scale Structure of Water Surfaces Near Electrodes显示文摘Summary of main observation and conclusion Novel and technologically important processes and phenomena arise at water surfaces in the presence of electric fields.However,experimental measurements on water surfaces are challenging,and the results are scarce and inconclusive.In this work,the constant potential molecular dynamics method,in which the electrode charges are allowed to fluctuate to keep the electric potential fixed,was implemented in the study of a near-electrode water surface systems.This simulation system was set up with a vapor/liquid-water/vapor slab and two electrodes under different sets of applied electrostatic potential,yielding i)a detailed characterization of the external E-field dependent electrostatic potential/density/dipole moment density profiles,and ii)the relationship between the water surface width and the applied electrode voltage differences which has been rarely reported.The adjustments in the number density profiles in the vicinity of water surfaces due to external E-fields were observed,while the capillary interfacial widths for the surfaces near both cathode and anode were found with different increment rates under increasing E-fields.By examining dipole density profiles across the water surfaces,we found that external E-field induced polarization occurs in both bulk and surface regimes,yet the surface polarization densities vary asymmetrically with respect to the increasing E-fields.Detailed discussions were carried out to explain the correlation between water surface tension and surface widths,as well as the interplay between the surface polarization densities and the hydrogen bond network structure.We conclude that the mechanical and structural properties of the water surfaces could be tuned by both magnitude and direction of the strong external E-fields.We also recognize that more surface properties with application value,such as dielectric permittivity tensor or surface potential,could also be regulated by the external E-fields. | Pengli Yang Zhenxing Wang Zun Liang Hongtao Liang Yang Yang | 2019 | Chinese Journal of Chemistry2019,37,12: | 2 |

| 8 | Heterogeneous relational message passing networks for molecular dynamics simulations显示文摘With many frameworks based on message passing neural networks proposed to predict molecular and bulk properties,machine learning methods have tremendously shifted the paradigms of computational sciences underpinning physics,material science,chemistry,and biology.While existing machine learning models have yielded superior performances in many occasions,most of them model and process molecular systems in terms of homogeneous graph,which severely limits the expressive power for representing diverse interactions.In practice,graph data with multiple node and edge types is ubiquitous and more appropriate for molecular systems.Thus,we propose the heterogeneous relational message passing network(HermNet),an end-to-end heterogeneous graph neural networks,to efficiently express multiple interactions in a single model with ab initio accuracy.HermNet performs impressively against many top-performing models on both molecular and extended systems.Specifically,HermNet outperforms other tested models in nearly 75%,83%and 69%of tasks on revised Molecular Dynamics 17(rMD17),Quantum Machines 9(QM9)and extended systems datasets,respectively.In addition,molecular dynamics simulations and material property calculations are performed with HermNet to demonstrate its performance.Finally,we elucidate how the design of HermNet is compatible with quantum mechanics from the perspective of the density functional theory.Besides,HermNet is a universal framework,whose sub-networks could be replaced by other advanced models. | Zun Wang Chong Wang Sibo Zhao Yong Xu Shaogang Hao Chang Yu Hsieh Bing-Lin Gu Wenhui Duan | 2022 | npj Computational Materials2022,,1: | 1 |

| 10 | Predictive Value of Blood Pressure,Heart Rate,and Blood Pressure/Heart Rate Ratio in a Chinese Subpopulation with Vasovagal Syncope显示文摘Objective:The head-up tilt test(HUTT)is widely used but is time-consuming and not cost-effective to evaluate patients with vasovagal syncope(VVS).The present study aims to verify the hypothesis that ambulatory blood pressure(BP)monitoring(ABPM)and the simplistic tilt test may be potential alternatives to the HUTT.Methods:The study consecutively enrolled 360 patients who underwent the HUTT to evaluate VVS.BP),heart rate(HR),and BP/HR ratios derived from ABPM and the simplistic tilt test were evaluated to predict the presence,pattern,and stage of syncope during the HUTT.Results:Mixed response was the commonest pattern,and syncope occurred frequently with infusion of isoproterenol at a rate of 3μg/min.During the simplistic tilt test,the cardioinhibitory group had higher tilted BP/HR ratios than the vasodepressor group,while the vasodepressor group had a faster tilted HR and a larger HR difference than the cardioinhibitory group.The higher the BP/HR ratio in the tilted position,the higher the isoproterenol dosage needed to induce a positive response.During ABPM,BP/HR ratios were signifi cantly higher in the cardioinhibitory group than in the vasodepressor group.The higher the ABPM-derived BP,the higher the dosage of isoproterenol needed to induce syncope.There were signifi cant correlations in BP/HR ratios between ABPM and the supine position in the vasodepressor group,while signifi cant correlation was found only for the diastolic BP/HR ratio between ABPM and the tilted position in the cardioinhibitory group.The mixed pattern shared correlative features of the other two patterns.Conclusion:ABPM and the simplistic tilt test might be used as promising alternatives to the HUTT in VVS evaluation in clinical settings. | Zhuzhi Wen Jingying Hou Zun Mai Huifen Huang Yangxin Chen Dengfeng Geng Jingfeng Wang | 2021 | Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications2021,,1: | 0 |

| 19 | Index Geographic Gossip Algorithm for Information Dissemination over Regular Graphs显示文摘An Index geographic gossip(IGG)algorithm is proposed. Relay nodes participate in information exchange and updating. The cumulative number of times these nodes participate is characterized by an index number, which can be used to accelerate information updating. The convergence property of the IGG algorithm is theoretically analyzed in ring and grid network topologies. The IGG algorithm improves the standard gossip algorithm by a gain of O(n) in both convergence time and communication cost. Compared to the geographic gossip algorithm, the IGG algorithm has a gain on the order of O(n) and O(n1/2) in the average hop count for information exchange and communication cost, respectively.
