3Identification of a senescence-related protease in coriander leaves显示文摘Senescence-related protease may play an important role in leaf senescence. By improved SDS-Gela-tin-PAGE assay, a 63 ku senescence-related protease (63 SRP) in coriander leaves was identified. Activity of 63 SRP was increased in parallel to the advance of coriander leaf senescence, and inhibited by treating the leaf with gibberellic acid, and enhanced by ethylene treatment. The 63 SRP was suggested to be a serine protease based on the fact that its activity was inhibited by the protease inhibitor PMSF. The optimal temperature for the activity of the 70 ku protease was 50°C. The maximal activity was observed at pH 6-9, some activity could be observed on the gel slices incubated at pH 5 or 11. 5Elevated plasma levels of selective cytokines in COVID-19 patients reflect viral load and lung injury显示文摘A recent outbreak of pneumonia in Wuhan,China was found to be caused by a 2019 novel coronavirus(2019-nCoV or SARS-CoV-2 or HCoV-19).We previously reported the clinical features of 12 patients with2019-n Co V infections in Shenzhen,China.To further understand the pathogenesis of COVID-19 and find better ways to monitor and treat the disease caused by 2019-n Co V,we measured the levels of 48 cytokines in the blood plasma of those 12 COVID-19 patients.Thirty-eight out of the 48 measured cytokines in the plasma of 2019-n Co V-infected patients were significantly elevated compared to healthy individuals.Seventeen cytokines were linked to 2019-nCoV loads.Fifteen cytokines,namely M-CSF,IL-10,IFN-α2,IL-17,IL-4,IP-10,IL-7,IL-1 ra,G-CSF,IL-12,IFN-γ,IL-1α,IL-2,HGF and PDGF-BB,were strongly associated with the lung-injury Murray score and could be used to predict the disease severity of2019-n Co V infections by calculating the area under the curve of the receiver-operating characteristics.Our results suggest that 2019-nCoV infections trigger extensive changes in a wide array of cytokines,some of which could be potential biomarkers of disease severity of 2019-n Co V infections.These findings will likely improve our understanding of the immunopathologic mechanisms of this emerging disease.Our results also suggest that modulators of cytokine responses may play a therapeutic role in combating the disease once the functions of these elevated cytokines have been characterized.Yingxia Liu Cong Zhang Fengming Huang Yang Yang Fuxiang Wang Jing Yuan Zheng Zhang Yuhao Qin Xiaoyun Li Dandan Zhao Shunwang Li Shuguang Tan Zhaoqin Wang Jinxiu Li Chenguang Shen Jianming Li Ling Peng Weibo Wu Mengli Cao Li Xing Zhixiang Xu Li Chen Congzhao Zhou William J Liu Lei Liu Chengyu Jiang 2020National Science Review2020,7,6:6
6Genome-and transcriptome-wide association studies provide insights into the genetic basis of natural variation of seed oil content in Brassica napus显示文摘Seed oil content(SOC)is a highly important and complex trait in oil crops.Here,we decipher the genetic basis of natural variation in SOC of Brassica napus by genome-and transcriptome-wide association studies using 505 inbred lines.We mapped reliable quantitative trait loci(QTLs)that control SOC in eight environments,evaluated the effect of each QTL on SOC,and analyzed selection in QTL regions during breeding.Six-hundred and ninety-two genes and four gene modules significantly associated with SOC were identified by analyzing population transcriptomes from seeds.A gene prioritization framework,POCKET(prioritizing the candidate genes by incorporating information on knowledge-based gene sets,effects of variants,genome-wide association studies,and transcriptome-wide association studies),was implemented to determine the causal genes in the QTL regions based on multi-omic datasets.A pair of homologous genes,BnPMT6s,in two QTLs were identified and experimentally demonstrated to negatively regulate SOC.This study provides rich genetic resources for improving SOC and valuable insights toward understanding the complex machinery that directs oil accumulation in the seeds of B.napus and other oil crops.Shan Tang Hu Zhao Shaoping Lu Liangqian Yu Guofang Zhang Yuting Zhang Qing-Yong Yang Yongming Zhou Xuemin Wang Wei Ma Weibo Xie Liang Guo 2021Molecular Plant2021,14,3:6

8Further understanding of an uncommon disease of combined small cell lung cancer: clinical features and prognostic factors of 114 cases显示文摘Objective: Combined small cell lung cancer(C-SCLC) is an uncommon subgroup of small cell lung cancer(SCLC) and few clinical data can be referred.Our study is to investigate the clinical features and prognostic factors of C-SCLC, as well as the role of multimodality treatment.Methods: Between January 2004 and December 2012, patients with histologically diagnosed C-SCLC were retrospectively analyzed.The survivals were evaluated with the Kaplan-Meier method.Univariate and multivariate analyses were used to evaluate potential prognostic factors.Results: One hundred and fourteen patients were enrolled, with a median age of 59(range: 20-79) years old.The most common combined component was squamous cell carcinoma(52.6%).Among these patients, the disease was stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ in 9.6%, 19.3%, 46.5% and 24.6% of the patients, respectively.Eighty patients(70.2%)received at least two of the three modalities containing chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery.The median follow-up was 32.5 months.The median time of overall survival(OS) was 26.2 months.On univariate analysis,smoking(P=0.029), Karnofsky performance score(KPS) <80(P=0.000), advanced TNM stage(P=0.000), no surgery(P=0.010), positive resection margin(P=0.000), positive lymph nodes ≥4(P=0.000), positive lymph node ratio >10%(P=0.000) and non-multimodality treatment(P=0.004) were associated with poor OS.Multivariate analysis confirmed that smoking, advanced TNM stage, positive resection margin and positive lymph nodes ratio>10% were poor prognostic features.Conclusions: C-SCLC has a relatively early stage and good prognosis, which may due to the underestimated diagnosis in non-surgical patients.Multimodality therapy is recommended, especially for limited disease.Smoking,advanced TNM stage, positive resection margin and positive lymph nodes ratio >10% are poor prognostic factors.Yu Men Zhouguang Hui Jun Liang Qinfu Feng Dongfu Chen Hongxing Zhang Zefen Xiao Zongmei Zhou Weibo Yin Luhua Wang 2016Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2016,28,5:2

15Phase-pure two-dimensional Fe_(X)GeTe_(2) magnets with near-room-temperature Tc显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D)ferromagnets with out-of-plane(OOP)magnetic anisotropy are potential candidates for realizing the next-generation memory devices with ultra-low power consumption and high storage density.However,a scalable approach to synthesize 2D magnets with OOP anisotropy directly on the complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor(CMOS)compatible substrates has not yet been mainly explored,which hinders the practical application of 2D magnets.This work demonstrates a cascaded space confined chemical vapor deposition(CS-CVD)technique to synthesize 2D FexGeTe_(2) ferromagnets.The weight fraction of iron(Fe)in the precursor controls the phase purity of the as-grown FexGeTe2.As a result,high-quality Fe_(3)GeTe_(2) and Fe_(5)GeTe_(2) flakes have been grown selectively using the CS-CVD technique.Curie temperature(Tc)of the as-grown FexGeTe2 can be up to-280 K,nearly room temperature.The thickness and temperature-dependent magnetic studies on the Fe_(5)GeTe_(2) reveal a 2D Ising to 3D XY behavior.Also,Terahertz spectroscopy experiments on Fe_(5)GeTe_(2) display the highest conductivity among other FexGeTe_(2) 2D magnets.The results of this work indicate a scalable pathway for the direct growth and integration of 2D ternary magnets on CMOS-based substrates to develop spintronic memory devices.Govindan Kutty Rajendran Nair Zhaowei Zhang Fuchen Hou§ Ali Abdelaziem Xiaodong Xu Steve Wu Qing Yang Nan Zhang Weiqi Li Chao Zhu Yao Wu Heng Weiling Lixing Kang Teddy Salim Jiadong Zhou Lin Ke Junhao Lin Xingji Li Weibo Gao Zheng Liu 2022Nano Research2022,15,1:0

17Stability of selenium and its speciation analysis in water using automatic system separation and HR-ICP-MS measurement显示文摘A simple and convenient method has been developed for the pre-concentration and separation of inorganic selenium species from environmental water samples using anion exchange chromatographic column combined with high resolution inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry(HR-ICP-MS)measurement.^(75)Se(Ⅳ) and ^(75)Se(Ⅵ)were prepared and used as tracers during the experiments.The volatility of selenium during solution evaporation was investigated to establish a reliable water samples pretreatment procedure.The parameters which affect the uptake of Se(Ⅳ)and Se(Ⅵ)on Dowex1×8 resin was optimized and the procedure for Se(Ⅳ)and Se(Ⅵ)separation was proposed.Both Se(Ⅳ)and Se(Ⅵ)are retained on the column in natural or alkaline solution with high distribution coefficient.The successive gradient elution of pre-concentrated species of selenium with HNO_(3)solution allows to differentiate between them.Se(Ⅳ)and Se(Ⅵ)finally were eluted with 0.05 mol/L HNO_(3) and 5.0 mol/L HNO_(3),respectively.The proposed method has been successfully verified using the certified reference materials(CRMs)of real water samples,and spiked recoveries for real samples were 98%-104%with 5%relative standard deviations(RSDs).The developed procedure is proved to be reliable and can be used for the rapid determination of selenium species in environmental water samples.Junqiang Yang Yawen Chen Keliang Shi Kesheng Hu Run Li Xiaoqing Gao Qian Wang Weibo Zhang Yun Zhou Yanyun Wang Jiangang He Tonghuan Liu Xiaolin Hou 2022Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,7:0
18Traditional Chinese Medicine constitution among patients with allergic rhinitis and its correlation with anxiety and depression显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To preliminary investigate the distribution of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)constitution among patients with allergic rhinitis(AR)and reveal the related factors with anxiety and depression.METHODS:Between July 2020 and June 2021,specialist doctor recruited AR patients in Beijing and Shanghai.A total of 630 patients admitted to participate in the survey,and 516(81.9%)(male 54.3%,female 45.7%)participants completed the questionnaires.Three scales including Constitution in Chinese Medicine Questionnaire(CCMQ),Generalized Anxiety Disorder Questionnaire(GAD-7)and The Patient Health Queationaire-9(PHQ-9)were applied.Theχ^(2)and the Fisher’s exact test were used to evaluate the classification data,multivariate logistic regression was used to explore the related factors of anxiety and depression.RESULTS:According to 516 AR patients,the most commonly first-constitution was Yang-deficiency(22.1%)and frequent of all constitutions was inherited-special(21.6%).One third of AR patients(33.5%)suffered from anxiety,nearly half of AR patients(46.5%)were found to be depressive.Inherited-special(27.7%)was the most common constitution in patients with anxiety whereas Yang-deficiency(26.7%)was most common constitution in patients with depression.Sex,duration of symptoms,balanced,Qi-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were related with anxiety;Sex,income,duration of symptoms,balanced,Qi-deficiency,Yang-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were related with depression.CONCLUSIONS:According to our study,the commonly constitution types of AR were Yang-deficiency and inherited-special.We found that the prevalence value of anxiety and depression were high.People with Qi-deficiency,phlegm-dampness,Qi-stagnation,and inherited-special constitutions were more likely to have mental problems than the others.Controlling these influential factors might be beneficial for clinical health management of AR patients,and the government should apply appropriate mental health treatment services to offer psychiatric support.WANG Yaqi ZHAO Weibo WANG Yixing ZHAO Haihong ZHOU Yaoyao YAN Yun WU Taotao LUO Bin WANG Ji 2023Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2023,43,6:0
19QTL Scanning for Rice Yield Using a Whole Genome SNP Array显示文摘High-throughput SNP genotyping is widely used for plant genetic studies.Recently,a RICE6K SNP array has been developed based on the Illumina Bead Array platform and Infinium SNP assay technology for genome-wide evaluation of allelic variations and breeding applications.In this study,the RICE6K SNP array was used to genotype a recombinant inbred line(RIL)population derived from the cross between the indica variety,Zhenshan 97,and the japonica variety,Xizang 2.A total of 3324 SNP markers of high quality were identified and were grouped into 1495 recombination bins in the RIL population.A high-density linkage map,consisting of the 1495 bins,was developed,covering 1591.2 cM and with average length of 1.1 cM per bin.Segregation distortions were observed in 24 regions of the11 chromosomes in the RILs.One half of the distorted regions contained fertility genes that had been previously reported.A total of 23QTLs were identified for yield.Seven QTLs were firstly detected in this study.The positive alleles from about half of the identified QTLs came from Zhenshan 97 and they had lower phenotypic values than Xizang 2.This indicated that favorable alleles for breeding were dispersed in both parents and pyramiding favorable alleles could develop elite lines.The size of the mapping population for QTL analysis using high throughput SNP genotyping platform is also discussed.Cong Tan Zhongmin Han Huihui Yu Wei Zhan Weibo Xie Xun Chen Hu Zhao Fasong Zhou Yongzhong Xing 2013Journal of Genetics and Genomics2013,40,12:0
20Numerical Simulation and Analysis of Excavation and Support in Traffic Tunnel of a Power Station显示文摘To evaluate the rationality of the excavation and support structure design in tunnel engineering, numerical simulation and structural deformation stability analysis in excavation and support in a traffic tunnel are carried out in combination with the practical geological conditions study. The computation results demonstrate that following excavation, the surrounding rock deforms minimally and has a large self-bearing capacity. The shotcrete-bolt structure in the initial support has small deformation and stress, ensuring that it meets the safety and stability requirements. The stress of the secondary lining structure is calculated, which can also meet the structural strength requirements. The traffic tunnel’s supporting system is a practical and cost-effective manner.
