1Effect of various crop rotations on rice yield and nitrogen use efficiency in paddy–upland systems in southeastern China显示文摘To evaluate the effects of various rotation systems on rice grain yield and N use efficiency, a paddy–upland cropping experiment(2013–2016) was conducted in southeastern China. The experiment was designed using six different rice––winter crop rotations: rice–fallow(RF),rice–wheat(RW), rice–potato with rice straw mulch(RP), rice–green manure(Chinese milk vetch; RC–G), rice–oilseed rape(RO), and rice–green manure crop(oilseed rape with fresh straw incorporated into soil at flowering; RO–G) and three N rates, N0(0 kg N ha-1), N1(142.5 kg N ha-1), and N2(202.5 kg N ha-1). Average rice yields in the RF(5.93 t ha-1) rotation were significantly lower than those in the rotations with winter crops(7.20–7.48 t ha-1)under the N0 treatment, suggesting that incorporation of straw might be more effective for increasing soil N than winter fallow. The rice yield differences among the rotations varied by year with the N input. In general, the grain yields in the RP and RO–G rotations –were respectively 11.6–28.5% and 14.80–37.19% higher than those in the RF in plots with N applied. Increasing the N rate may have tended to minimize the average yield gap between the RF and the other rotations; the yield gaps were 18.55%, 4.14%, and 0.23% in N0, N1, and N2, respectively. However, the N recovery efficiency in the RF was significantly lower than that in other rotations, except for 2015 under both N1 and N2 rates, a finding that implies a large amount of chemical N loss. No significant differences in nitrogen agronomic efficiency(NAE) and physiological efficiency(NPE) were found between the rotations with legume(RC–G) and non–legume(RO and RW) winter crops, a result that may be due partly to straw incorporation. For this reason, we concluded that the return of straw could reduce differences in N use efficiency between rotations with and without legume crops. The degree of synchrony between the crop N demand and the N supply was evaluated by comparison of nitrogen balance degree(NBD) values. The NBD values in the RP and RW were significantly lower than those in the other rotations under both N1 and N2 rates. Thus,in view of the higher grain yield in the RP compared to the RW under the N1 rate, the RP rotation might be a promising practice with comparable grain yield and greater N use efficiency under reduced N input relative to the other rotations. The primary yield components of the RF and RP were identified as number of panicles m-2 and numbers of kernels panicle-1, respectively. 2Supplemental magnolol or honokiol attenuates adverse effects in broilers infected with Salmonella pullorum by modulating mucosal gene expression and the gut microbiota显示文摘Background:Salmonella pullorum is one of the most harmful pathogens to avian species.Magnolol and honokiol,natural compounds extracted from Magnolia officinalis,exerts anti-inflammatory,anti-oxidant and antibacterial activities.This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary supplemental magnolol and honokiol in broilers infected with S.pullorum.A total of 360 one-day-old broilers were selected and randomly divided into four groups with six replicates:the negative control group(CTL),S.pullorum-infected group(SP),and the S.pulloruminfected group supplemented with 300 mg/kg honokiol(SPH)or magnolol(SPM).Results:The results showed that challenging with S.pullorum impaired growth performance in broilers,as indicated by the observed decreases in body weight(P<0.05)and average daily gains(P<0.05),along with increased spleen(P<0.01)and bursa of Fabricus weights(P<0.05),serum globulin contents,and the decreased intestine villus height and villus/crypt ratios(P<0.05).Notably,supplemental magnolol and honokiol attenuated these adverse changes,and the effects of magnolol were better than those of honokiol.Therefore,we performed RNA-Seq in ileum tissues and 16S rRNA gene sequencing of ileum bacteria.Our analysis revealed that magnolol increased the α-diversity(observed species,Chao1,ACE,and PD whole tree)and β-diversity of the ileum bacteria(P<0.05).In addition,magnolol supplementation increased the abundance of Lactobacillus(P<0.01)and decreased unidentified Cyanobacteria(P<0.05)both at d 14 and d 21.Further study confirmed that differentially expressed genes induced by magnolol and honokiol supplementation enriched in cytokine-cytokine receptor interactions,in the intestinal immune network for IgA production,and in the cell adhesion molecule pathways.Conclusions:Supplemental magnolol and honokiol alleviated S.pullorum-induced impairments in growth performance,and the effect of magnolol was better than that of honokiol,which could be partially due to magnolol’s ability to improve the intestinal microbial and mucosal barrier.Fang Chen Hao Zhang Encun Du Qiwen Fan Na Zhao Feng Jin Wei Zhang Wanzheng Guo Shaowen Huang Jintao Wei 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,1:9
3Clinical antiangiogenic effect of recombinant adenovirus-p53 combined with hyperthermia for advanced cancer显示文摘Objective:To assess the safety and clinical antiangiogenic effect of recombinant adenovirus-p53(rAd-p53)combined with hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer.Methods:Expression of Vascular epithelial growth factor(VEGF)after intratumoral injection of rAd-p53was assayed by immunohistochemistry(IHC)imaging.Forty-four patients with advanced cancer were enrolled into this clinical study.The patients were intratumorally injected with rAd-p53(Gendicine)at a dose of 1×1012vp once a week,with a total of 4-54(mean 7.7)times.Total of 4-29(mean 8.5)times of hyperthermia was given to the patients.Among the 44 patients,30 patients were concurrently added with radiotherapy of a total dose 30-76 Gy/15-38 f/3-8 w(mean 58 Gy).Results:Before and after intratumoral injection of rAd-p53,the VEGF IHC positive cell scores were 2.80and 1.50,respectively(P=0.031).The treatment of rAd-p53 combined with hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer achieved CR rate of 13.60%(6/44),and PR rate of 29.6%(13/44),and thus the effective rate was 43.2%.In addition to 6 patients with CR,19 patients(19/38,50.0%)had low density area(LDA)of more than 50%area on CT image within tumor indicating tumor tissue necrosis.Conclusions:Our data indicate that rAd-p53 inhibits VEGF expression and angiogenesis,and promotes tumor necrosis and shrinkage induced by hyperthermia plus or not plus radiotherapy in advanced cancer.Xiaofan Li Shaowen Xiao Yongheng Li Shanwen Zhang 2013Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2013,25,6:6
4Influence of Tourists′ Environmental Tropisms on Their Attitudes to Tourism and Nature Conservation in Natural Tourist Destinations: A Case Study of Jiuzhaigou National Park in China显示文摘People′s environmental tropism has an effect on their understanding of tourism-nature relationship,and also influences their attitudes to natural resources utilization and environmental protection.Taking Jiuzhaigou National Park of China as a study case,the authors conducted some quantitative analyses with the tools of SPSS 16.0 and LISREL 8.7,to explore the influence of tourists′ environmental tropism on their attitudes to tourism and nature conservation in the natural tourist destination.Three hypotheses and the theoretic model of influences of tourists′ environmental tropism on their attitudes to tourism and nature conservation have been tested and accepted based on the Structural Equation Model analysis on survey data collected in Jiuzhaigou National Park of China.Some conclusions were drawn as follows: 1) tourists′ human-prioritized concept influences their cognition to tourism-nature relationship.This concept has a positive influence on their supportive attitudes to tourism,but a negative influence on their attitudes to nature conservation;2) tourists′ human-nature coordination concept has a positive influence on their supportive attitudes to both tourism and nature conservation,especially to the latter.This paper generally proves that human′s environmental tropism does have an influence on their attitudes to tourism and nature conservation in natural tourist destinations.CHENG Shaowen ZHANG Jie LU Shaojing XU Feifei ZHANG Honglei 2011Chinese Geographical Science2011,21,3:5
5Parametric study of turbine NGV blade lean and vortex design显示文摘The effects of blade lean and vortex design on the aerodynamics of a turbine entry nozzle guide vane(NGV) are considered using computational fluid dynamics. The aim of the work is to address some of the uncertainties which have arisen from previous studies where conflicting results have been reported for the effect on the NGV. The configuration was initially based on the energy efficient engine turbine which also served as the validation case for the computational method. A total of 17 NGV configurations were evaluated to study the effects of lean and vortex design on row efficiency and secondary kinetic energy. The distribution of mass flow ratio is introduced as an additional factor in the assessment of blade lean effects. The results show that in the turbine entry NGV, the secondary flow strength is not a dominant factor that determines NGV losses and therefore the changes of loading distribution due to blade lean and the associated loss mechanisms should be regarded as a key factor. 6Chromosomal microarray analysis vs.karyotyping for fetal ventriculomegaly:a meta-analysis显示文摘Background:Chromosomal abnormalities are important causes of ventriculomegaly(VM).In mild and isolated cases of fetal VM,obstetricians rarely give clear indications for pregnancy termination.We aimed to calculate the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities and incremental yield of chromosomal microarray analysis(CMA)in VM,providing more information on genetic counseling and prognostic evaluation for fetuses with VM.Methods:The Chinese language databases Wanfang Data,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,and China Biomedical Literature Database(from January 1,1991 to April 29,2020)and English language databases PubMed,Embase,and Cochrane Library(from January 1,1945 to April 29,2020)were systematically searched for articles on fetal VM.Diagnostic criteria were based on ultrasonographic or magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)assessment of lateral ventricular atrium width:≥10 to<15 mm for mild VM,and≥15 mm for severe VM.Isolated VM was defined by the absence of structural abnormalities other than VM detected by ultrasonography or MRI.R software was used for the meta-analysis to determine the incidence of chromosomal abnormalities and incremental yield of CMA in VM,and the combined rate and 95%confidence interval(CI)were calculated.Results:Twenty-three articles involving 1635 patients were included.The incidence of chromosomal abnormalities in VM was 9%(95%CI:5%-12%)and incremental yield of CMA in VM was 11%(95%CI:7%-16%).The incidences of chromosomal abnormalities in mild,severe,isolated,and non-isolated VM were 9%(95%CI:4%-16%),5%(95%CI:1%-11%),3%(95%CI:1%-6%),and 13%(95%CI:4%-25%),respectively.Conclusions:Applying CMA in VM improved the detection rate of abnormalities.When VM is confirmed by ultrasound or MRI,obstetricians should recommend fetal karyotype analysis to exclude chromosomal abnormalities.Moreover,CMA should be recommended preferentially in pregnant women with fetal VM who are undergoing invasive prenatal diagnosis.CMA cannot completely replace chromosome karyotype analysis.Yan Sun Weiyuan Zhang Zhiwen Wang Likui Guo Shaowen Shi 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,3:3
7Dynamic analysis of a rotating tapered cantilever Timoshenko beam based on the power series method显示文摘The mathematical modeling of a rotating tapered Timoshenko beam with preset and pre-twist angles is constructed. The partial differential equations governing the six degrees, i.e., three displacements in the axial, flapwise, and edgewise directions and three cross-sectional angles of torsion, flapwise bending, and edgewise bending, are obtained by the Euler angle descriptions. The power series method is then used to investigate the natural frequencies and the corresponding complex mode functions. It is found that all the natural frequencies are increased by the centrifugal stiffening except the twist frequency, which is slightly decreased. The tapering ratio increases the first transverse,torsional, and axial frequencies, while decreases the second transverse frequency. 8Solar radiation-use characteristics of indica/japonica hybrid rice (Oryza sativa L.) in the late season in southeast China显示文摘New indica and japonica hybrid rice cultivars,such as the Yongyou series,provide farmers with very high yield potential.However,information on their canopy light capture and solar radiation use efficiency in the late season is limited.Field experiments were performed to compare the radiation-use parameters of four rice types:indica rice(IR),inbred japonica rice(IJR),hybrid japonica rice(HJR),and hybrid indica/japonica rice(HIJR),from 2016 to 2018 during the late season in Hangzhou,China.The grain yield,aboveground biomass,intercepted solar radiation(SI),and radiation-use efficiency(RUE)of the HIJR were on average respectively 13.4%–53.4%,14.3%–30.6%,7.6%–21.4%,and 8.2%–14.9%higher than those of the HJR,IJR,and IR.The leaf area index(LAI)of the HIJR was 18.2%–57.0%greater than that of the IJR and HJR at four growth stages,resulting in respectively 17.8%–38.5%and 10.7%–42.8%greater canopy light interception rates(LIR)and amount of intercepted solar radiation during the vegetative stage.The prolonged grain-filling stage also led to respectively 33.9%–52.6%and 30.5%–51.4%increases in amounts of incident and intercepted radiation for the HIJR relative to the IR during grain filling.These results indicate that the SI superiority of the HIJR was caused by canopy closure as rapid as that of the IR during the vegetative stage(greater LAI and canopy LIR during the growing season)and a grain-filling stage as long as that of the HJR.For grain-filling stage,differences in leaf Pn between HIJR,IR,and IJR were not significant,suggesting that the greater RUE of the HIJR(12.7%–52.8%higher)than that of the other rice types resulted from improved canopy architecture after flowering(FL).Principal components analysis(PCA)revealed that the superiority of the HIJR in terms of solar radiation use resulted from the greater canopy light capture capability of IR and the prolonged growth period(especially during grain filling)of japonica rice in the late growing season.Min Yin Shaowen Liu Xi Zheng Guang Chu Chunmei Xu Xiufu Zhang Dangying Wang Song Chen 2021The Crop Journal2021,9,2:3

12Zeolite templated carbon nanodots for broadband ultrafast pulsed fiber laser generation显示文摘Carbon nanodots(C-dots) with a uniform size of about 2 nm are synthesized via in situ pyrolysis of n-propylamine that is confined in the nanochannels of zeolite Linde Type A(LTA). The as-synthesized C-dots@LTA composite shows nonlinear optical saturable absorption properties in a broad wavelength band and can be used as saturable absorber(SA) to generate ultrafast pulsed fiber lasers. By inserting a zeolite LTA single crystal hosting C-dots into the fiber laser cavity, mode-locked fiber lasers with long-term operation stability at 1.5 μm and 1 μm are achieved. These results show that the C-dots@LTA are a promising SA material for ultrafast pulsed fiber laser generation in a broad wavelength band. 13Countermeasures for Stressing Industry but Disregarding Agriculture in Resource-based Counties: A Case Study of Fugu County in Shaanxi Province显示文摘Industry re-feeding agriculture is an important strategy to boost agricultural modernization[1]. As to resource-based regions, the key thing is the way to implement the strategy of resource-based industry re-feeding agriculture. In fact, as a typical resource-based county, Fugu County realizes its quick economic development mainly depending on the local resources and industrial development. And the agricultural development is relatively lagging in the county, more people are beginning to denote themselves to industrial development due to high return brought by resource exploitation, which results that the contradiction between industry and agriculture is gradually prominent in the county. Therefore, it is necessary to seek for a new way to develop industry and agriculture in resource-based counties. 19Performance of classic multiple factor analysis and model fitting in crop modeling显示文摘Multivariate statistical analysis and regression,which are typical methods for crop modeling,have direct influence on the accuracy of model,but the applications of these methods usually depend on experiences.In this research,the performances of some common methods of statistical analysis and regression model were compared and verified,in order to avoid the blindness in crop modeling.The monitoring data of growth environment and photosynthesis of tomato,pumpkin and cucumber were obtained by PTM-48A.For the object variable of CO2 exchange rate,selectivity on the main environmental factors by correlation analysis and path analysis were quantitatively compared.The performances of four kinds of multivariate binomial regression equations were compared using a comprehensive aggregative indicator,and the effectiveness of modeling was verified with the selected optimized multivariate statistical analysis and regression equation.Results showed that path analysis was more comprehensive and effective than correlation to discrimination of the variables,especially the path analysis ruled out some suspected independent variables which were not really independent,and the pure quadratic was more suitable to crop modeling because of its simple structure and high accuracy when the data set was small.The conclusion of this research has a general applicability,and offers a useful reference and guide for the other study and application of crops’modeling.Jiang Zhaohui Zhang Jing Yang Chunhe Rao Yuan Li Shaowen 2016International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2016,9,2:1
20Dynamic Characteristics of High-speed Water-Lubricated Spiral Groove Thrust Bearing Based on Turbulent Cavitating Flow Lubrication Model显示文摘The water-lubricated bearings are usually the state of turbulent cavitating flow under high-speed conditions. And the distribution of cavitation bubbles and the interface effect between the two phases have not been included in previous studies on high-speed water-lubricated bearings. In order to study the influence of interface effect and cavitation bubble distribution on the dynamic characteristics of high-speed water-lubricated spiral groove thrust bearings(SGTB).A turbulent cavitating flow lubrication model based on two-phase fluid and population balance equation of bubbles was established in this paper. Stiffness and the damping coefficients of the SGTB were calculated using the perturbation pressure equations. An experimental apparatus was developed to verify the theoretical model. Simulating and experimental results show that the small-sized bubbles tend to generate in the turbulent cavitating flow when at a high rotary speed, and the bubbles mainly locate at the edges of the spiral groove. The simulating results also show that the direct stiffness coefficients are increased due to cavitation effect, and cross stiffness coefficients and damping coefficients are hardly affected by the cavitation effect.
