1A design method and numerical study for a new type parabolic trough solar collector with uniform solar flux distribution显示文摘The non-uniform concentrated solar flux distribution on the outer surface of the absorber tube can lead to large circumferential temperature difference and high local temperature of the absorber tube wall,which is one of the primary causes of parabolic trough solar receiver(PTR)failures.In this paper,a secondary reflector used as a homogenizing reflector(HR)in a conventional parabolic trough solar collector(PTSC)was recommended to homogenize the solar flux distribution and thus increase the reliability of the PTR.The design method of this new type PTSC with a HR was also proposed.Meanwhile,the concentrated solar flux distribution was calculated by adopting the Monte Carlo ray-trace(MCRT)method.Then,the coupled heat transfer process within the PTR was simulated by treating the solar flux calculated by the MCRT method as the heat flux boundary condition for the finite volume method model.The solar flux distribution on the outer surface of the absorber tube,the temperature field of the absorber tube wall,and the collector efficiency were analyzed in detail.It was revealed that the absorber tube could almost be heated uniformly in the PTSC with a HR.As a result,the circumferential temperature difference and the maximum temperature could be reduced significantly,while the efficiency tended to decrease slightly due to the inevitably increased optical loss.Under the conditions studied in this paper,although the collector efficiency decreased by about 4%,the circumferential temperature difference was reduced from about 25 to 3 K and the maximum temperature was reduced from667 to 661 K.WANG Kun HE YaLing CHENG ZeDong 2014Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,3:15
2New-type urbanization in China: Predicted trends and investment demand for 2015-2030显示文摘The future development of new-type urbanization has drawn great attention from both the government and public alike. In this context, the present study had three related research aims. Firstly, it sought to predict the urbanization and population dynamics in China at both national and provincial levels for the period of 2015 to 2030. Secondly, on this basis, it sought to examine the spatial variation of urbanization given the predicted national urbanization rate of 70.12%. Thirdly, it sought to estimate and evaluate the national and provincial demands of investment in the development of new-type urbanization. The main conclusions from this study were as follows:(1) The population size and urbanization rate will reach 1.445 billion and 70.12%, respectively, from 2015 to 2030.(2) The demographic dividend will vanish when the population pressure reaches its maximum. During this period, there will be 70.16 million urban population born. The suburban population that becomes urbanized will be 316.7 million, and thus the net increase in urban population will reach 386 million.(3) Although the urbanization rate of every Chinese province will increase during 2015–2030, it will do so unequally, while differences in urbanization quality among provinces will also be substantial. In some provinces, moreover, the urbanization quality is not compatible with their eco-social development.(4) A total of 4,105,380 billion yuan is required to fund new-type urbanization and the investment demand for each province varies greatly; for example, Guangdong province requires the most funding, amounting to approximately 148 times that required by Tibet, the province in least need of funding. 3Beam-pointing error compensation method of phased array radar seeker with phantom-bit technology显示文摘A phased array radar seeker(PARS) must be able to effectively decouple body motion and accurately extract the line-of-sight(LOS) rate for target missile tracking.In this study,the realtime two-channel beam pointing error(BPE) compensation method of PARS for LOS rate extraction is designed.The PARS discrete beam motion principium is analyzed,and the mathematical model of beam scanning control is finished.According to the principle of the antenna element shift phase,both the antenna element shift phase law and the causes of beam-pointing error under phantom-bit conditions are analyzed,and the effect of BPE caused by phantom-bit technology(PBT) on the extraction accuracy of the LOS rate is examined.A compensation method is given,which includes coordinate transforms,beam angle margin compensation,and detector dislocation angle calculation.When the method is used,the beam angle margin in the pitch and yaw directions is calculated to reduce the effect of the missile body disturbance and to improve LOS rate extraction precision by compensating for the detector dislocation angle.The simulation results validate the proposed method.Qiuqiu WEN Tianyu LU Qunli XIA Zedong SUN 2017Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2017,30,3:6
4Quantitative analysis of distributed and centralized development of renewable energy显示文摘Global renewable energy has maintained a steady growth in recent years, mainly fostered by national policies and increasing demand. Analyzing the experience of renewable energy development in developed countries can be important to provide reference and guidance for its adoption in other countries. First, we compare and summarize definitions of distributed generation from 18 leading countries and organizations in renewable energy. On this basis, we provide three basic characteristics for successful distributed generation using renewable resources. Then, we empirically analyze the distributed and centralized development of renewable energy in Germany with focus on wind and photovoltaic power. 8Low Power Single-Chip RF Transceiver for Human Body Communication显示文摘Human body communication is proposed as a promising body proximal communication technology for body sensor networks.To achieve low power and small volume in the sensor nodes,a Radio Frequency (RF) application-specific integrated circuit transceiver for Human Body Communication (HBC) is presented and the characteristics of HBC are investigated.A high data rate On-Off Keying (OOK)/Frequency-Shift Keying (FSK) modulation protocol and an OOK/FSK demodulator circuit are introduced in this paper,with a data-rate-to-carrier-frequency ratio up to 70%.A low noise amplifier is proposed to handle the dynamic range problem and improve the sensitivity of the receiver path.In addition,a low power automatic-gain-control system is realized using a novel architecture,thereby rendering the peak detector circuit and loop filter unnecessary.Finally,the complete chip is fabricated.Simulation results suggest receiver sensitivity to be-75 dBm.The transceiver shows an overall power consumption of 3.2 mW when data rate is 5 Mbps,delivering a P1 dB output power of-30 dBm.Nie Zedong Guan Feng Huang Jin Wang Lei 2012China Communications2012,9,9:2
9The impact of UV treatment on microbial control and DBPs formation in full-scale drinking water systems in northern China显示文摘To manage potential microbial risks and meet increasingly strict drinking water health standards,UV treatment has attracted increasing attention for use in drinking water systems in China.However,the effects of UV treatment on microbial control and disinfection byproducts(DBPs)formation in real municipal drinking water systems are poorly understood.Here,we collected water samples from three real drinking water systems in Beijing and Tianjin to investigate the impacts of UV treatment on microbial control and DBP formation.We employed heterotrophic plate count(HPC),flow cytometry(FCM),quantitative PCR analysis,and high-throughput sequencing to measure microorganisms in the samples.Different trends were observed between HPC and total cell count(measured by FCM),indicating that a single indicator could not reflect the real degree of biological re-growth in drinking water distribution systems(DWDSs).A significant increase in the 16S rRNA gene concentration was observed when the UV system was stopped.Besides,the bacterial community composition was similar at the phylum level but differed markedly at the genera level among the three DWDSs.Some chlorine-resistant bacteria,including potential pathogens(e.g.,Acinetobacter)showed a high relative abundance when the UV system was turned off.It can be concluded that UV treatment can mitigate microbial re-growth to some extent.Finally,UV treatment had a limited influence on the formation of DBPs,including trihalomethanes,haloacetic acids,and nitrogenated DBPs.The findings of this study may help to understand the performance of UV treatment in real drinking water systems.Xiuwei Ao Zhongyun Chen Simiao Li Chen Li Zedong Lu Wenjun Sun 2020Journal of Environmental Sciences2020,32,1:2

11Tropical Atlantic Climate Response to Different Freshwater Input in High Latitudes with an Ocean-Only General Circulation Model显示文摘Tropical Atlantic climate change is relevant to the variation of Atlantic meridional overturning circulation(AMOC) through different physical processes. Previous coupled climate model simulation suggested a dipole-like SST structure cooling over the North Atlantic and warming over the South Tropical Atlantic in response to the slowdown of the AMOC. Using an ocean-only global ocean model here, an attempt was made to separate the total influence of various AMOC change scenarios into an oceanicinduced component and an atmospheric-induced component. In contrast with previous freshwater-hosing experiments with coupled climate models, the ocean-only modeling presented here shows a surface warming in the whole tropical Atlantic region and the oceanic-induced processes may play an important role in the SST change in the equatorial south Atlantic. Our result shows that the warming is partly governed by oceanic process through the mechanism of oceanic gateway change, which operates in the regime where freshwater forcing is strong, exceeding 0.3 Sv. Strong AMOC change is required for the gateway mechanism to work in our model because only when the AMOC is sufficiently weak, the North Brazil Undercurrent can flow equatorward, carrying warm and salty north Atlantic subtropical gyre water into the equatorial zone. This threshold is likely to be model-dependent. 12A Bifunctional-Modulated Conformal Li/Mn-Rich Layered Cathode for Fast-Charging,High Volumetric Density and Durable Li-Ion Full Cells显示文摘Lithium-and manganese-rich(LMR)layered cathode materials hold the great promise in designing the next-generation high energy density lithium ion batteries.However,due to the severe surface phase transformation and structure collapse,stabilizing LMR to suppress capacity fade has been a critical challenge.Here,a bifunctional strategy that integrates the advantages of surface modification and structural design is proposed to address the above issues.A model compound Li_(1.2)Mn_(0.54)Ni_(0.13)Co_(0.13)O_(2)(MNC)with semi-hollow microsphere structure is synthesized,of which the surface is modified by surface-treated layer and graphene/car-bon nanotube dual layers.The unique structure design enabled high tap density(2.1 g cm^(−3))and bidirectional ion diffusion pathways.The dual surface coatings covalent bonded with MNC via C-O-M linkage greatly improves charge transfer efficiency and mitigates electrode degradation.Owing to the synergistic effect,the obtained MNC cathode is highly conformal with durable structure integrity,exhibiting high volumetric energy density(2234 Wh L^(−1))and predominant capacitive behavior.The assembled full cell,with nanograph-ite as the anode,reveals an energy density of 526.5 Wh kg^(−1),good rate performance(70.3%retention at 20 C)and long cycle life(1000 cycles).The strategy presented in this work may shed light on designing other high-performance energy devices.Zedong Zhao Minqiang Sun Tianqi Wu Jiajia Zhang Peng Wang Long Zhang Chongyang Yang Chengxin Peng Hongbin Lu 2021Nano-Micro Letters2021,13,8:2

16Overexpression and characterization of a thermostable β-agarase producing neoagarotetraose from a marine isolate Microbulbifer sp.AG1显示文摘An agarase gene containing 1 302 bp was cloned from Microbulbifer sp. AG1. It encoded a mature protein of 413 amino acids plus a 20-residue signal peptide. The recombinant enzyme without the signal peptide was expressed and purified from Escherichia coli BL21(DE3). When agarose was used as a substrate, the optimal temperature and pH for the enzyme were 60℃ and 7.5, respectively. The recombinant agarase showed excellent thermostability with 67% and 19% of residual activities after incubation at 50℃ and 60℃ for 1 h, respectively.Except SDS, the recombinant agarase had a relatively good resistance against the detected inhibitors, detergents and urea denaturant. Thin layer chromatography analysis and enzyme assay using p-nitrophenyl-α/β-Dgalactopyranoside revealed that the recombinant agarase was a β-agarase that degraded agarose into neoagarotetraose as the main end product. 18Influence of pore structure on biologically activated carbon performance and biofilm microbial characteristics显示文摘Optimizing the characteristics of granular activated carbon(GAC)can improve the performance of biologically activated carbon(BAC)filters,and iodine value has always been the principal index for GAC selection.However,in this study,among three types of GAC treating the same humic acidcontaminated water,one had an iodine value 35%lower than the other two,but the dissolved organic carbon removal efficiency of its BAC was less than 5%away from the others.Iodine value was found to influence the removal of different organic fractions instead of the total removal efficiency.Based on the removal and biological characteristics,two possible mechanisms of organic matter removal during steady-state were suggested.For GAC with poor micropore volume and iodine value,high molecular weight substances(3500–9000 Da)were removed mainly through degradation by microorganisms,and the biodegraded organics(soluble microbial by-products,<3500 Da)were released because of the low adsorption capacity of activated carbon.For GAC with higher micropore volume and iodine value,organics with low molecular weight(<3500 Da)were more easily removed,first being adsorbed by micropores and then biodegraded by the biofilm.The biomass was determined by the pore volume with pore diameters greater than 100μm,but did not correspond to the removal efficiency.Nevertheless,the microbial community structure was coordinate with both the pore structure and the organic removal characteristics.The findings provide a theoretical basis for selecting GAC for the BAC process based on its pore structure.Yuqing Xu Zedong Lu Wenjun Sun Xiaohui Zhang 2021Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,6:1
19Adaptive multifactorial particle swarm optimisation显示文摘Existing multifactorial particle swarm optimisation(MFPSO)algorithms only explore a relatively narrow area between the inter-task particles.Meanwhile,these algorithms use a fixed inter-task learning probability throughout the evolution process.However,the parameter is problem dependent and can be various at different stages of the evolution.In this work,the authors devise an inter-task learning-based information transferring mechanism to replace the corresponding part in MFPSO.This inter-task learning mechanism transfers the searching step by using a differential term and updates the personal best position by employing an inter-task crossover.By this mean,the particles can explore a broad search space when utilising the additional searching experiences of other tasks.In addition,to enhance the performance on problems with different complementarity,they design a self-adaption strategy to adjust the inter-task learning probability according to the performance feedback.They compared the proposed algorithm with the state-of-the-art algorithms on various benchmark problems.Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can transfer inter-task knowledge efficiently and perform well on the problems with different complementarity.Zedong Tang Maoguo Gong 2019CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2019,4,1:1
20Toward broad optimal output bandwidth dielectric elastomer actuators显示文摘Dielectric elastomer actuators(DEAs)are one of the most promising soft actuation technologies owing to their relatively high power density and electromechanical efficiency enabled by a resonant actuation technique.However,existing DEA designs suffer from a very narrow optimal output bandwidth close to resonance and poor output control capability due to their fixed geometrical configurations.This condition greatly limits their applications in programmable actuation and broad-bandwidth applications.Accordingly,this work developed a novel resonance tunable DEA(RTDEA)design for broad-optimal-output actuation bandwidths that is enabled by an integration of a stiffness and voltage control strategy.This design features a broad resonant frequency adjustment from 84 to 126 Hz and independent tunings of its resonant amplitude and frequency.Parametric studies were conducted to illustrate the fundamental principles behind the resonance tuning strategy,and optimization was performed to maximize the tuning capability.Here,a resonance tuning control strategy is proposed to achieve accurate adjustments of the RTDEA’s resonance based on the stiffness and voltage control strategy.These resonance tunable soft actuators are envisioned to greatly expand DEAs’applications in,for instance,soft robotic locomotion,human–robot communication,and active vibrational control with demands of broad actuation bandwidths and high output performance.CAO ChongJing CHEN LiJin LI Bo CHEN GuiMin NIE ZeDong WANG Lei GAO Xing 2022Science China(Technological Sciences)2022,65,5:1
